Blueeyeddevil06, thank you for being my beta and helping me to plan out this story.
We had the main plot points planned since early on when I was writing A Treasure Worth Fighting For. I was excited about this sequel. I hope you all enjoy it too.
Note: Olaf isn't in this story. A walking talking snowman was hard for me to justify in my OUAT universe story. Also, this takes place after the first Frozen movie.
Killian still was overwhelmed sometimes. Oddly enough, it wasn't being a prince or living in a palace. It wasn't Emma, well, not only her. He had a family, and he was liked.
When David patted him on the back and asked him how his day was going, he had to take a deep breath before he answered. He never thought he'd have someone in his life that felt like a father. On top of that, they were friends. The only thing they didn't discuss was the private parts of Killian's and Emma's relationship. After all, he still was her dad.
A rule that he breached after too many glasses of rum. David, Killian, and Robin had decided to go out drinking together. They had too many drinks, yet not quite enough at the same time. Too many, so their tongues were loosened, but not enough to forget what was said the next day.
Robin had commented on Regina's preferences in tying him up in bed. Killian laughed and shared that Emma liked sex before every formal occasion. She liked seeing him all dressed up. He even commented about how her magic was handy for taking out wrinkles.
Killian was on the floor with his lip bleeding before he remembered that David didn't like hearing about his little girl's sex life. Oops.
The whole tavern grew quiet as soon as David threw the punch. Killian knew they were wondering what his reaction would be. He was contrite enough to admit loudly, "Fair enough, David. I shouldn't tell you about your daughter's sex life."
There was a general gasp around the room, and everyone went back to drinking. They did hear some comments that Killian was an idiot. Killian agreed and switched to water for the next round.
The rest of the night progressed much better. Killian liked David and Robin. Besides the family ties, the three of them had similar views on marriage and family. That helped to cement their friendship. They all fought for who they loved.
That night on their walk home from the tavern, they were all laughing. Killian walked in between them, and it struck him again. He had a family.
Emma had given him so much. Sometimes he wondered what she got out of their marriage.
He said goodbye to the others and walked into their rooms. Emma was still up.
She took one look at him and shook her head, "What did you say to my father to get punched?"
"I take offense to that assumption, Love."
She rolled her eyes. "You're feigning offense. I'm really not going to like it, am I?"
He just shook his head and said, "You really aren't." Then he had the idea to distract her. "Do you know Regina likes to tie Robin up in bed?!"
Emma grew pale, "You told my father about our sex life!"
"How?! I didn't say anything about that!"
"You're not subtle when you're drunk, which means that Robin mentioned his sex life, and you overshared in front of my father." She crossed her arms and waited for his response.
He sighed and nodded. "I earned the punch. I told him we have sex before every formal event."
She looked horrified. "You didn't!"
"Sorry, Love."
She then snorted, "Joke's on you now. Dad will make sure we don't get time alone before those events now."
"Shit!" He hung his head. "He's going to come up with jobs for me to do as a prince to keep me away from you, isn't he?"
"Yup." She smirked at him. "We'll just have to figure out how to sneak out during the dancing part of the evenings and have sex in a closet somewhere. Just don't screw up and tell him about it."
"I love the way you think, Swan." He quickly undressed and climbed into bed with her. "Care for a demonstration?"
She shook her head. "We were just talking about my father, and you told me about my step-grandmother's kinks. You aren't on your game tonight."
He sighed and dropped his head down onto her shoulder. "I'm really not." He then lifted his head and smiled at her, then traced the curve of her neck with his hook. "What if I leave my hook on tonight?"
She swallowed hard and nodded, "I might be able to be persuaded." She gave him a coy look.
"And what do I have to do to convince you, Swan?" He started kissing the other side of her neck and nibbling on her ear.
"Promise you'll take me to Arendale."
"I already promised you that." He kissed her nose. "You don't have to ask me to take you."
"Well, I mean, I want to go now."
He pulled back and looked her in the eyes. "Your mother just had your baby brother. Don't you want to be here for that?"
"If we look at it that way, it won't ever be a good time to leave. Yes, I love Leo, but he won't remember us being gone. Plus, I know I'm not in the way, but they had time to dote on me when I was a baby. They should get that time with him." She then shook her head. "Okay, so that's dumb. I'm using it as an excuse. If I'm honest, going to meet Elsa is an excuse too. I want to go on another adventure with you. I love sailing on the HMS Cygnet, and I miss the crew. It's nice just to be us."
He pulled her underneath him as he pulled off her nightgown. She looked at him funny and asked, "What are you doing? I'm serious."
"I am too. You said I could have sex with you if I take you to Arendale soon. I fully intend on taking you." He flicked his finger over her nipple. "And we'll go to Arendale."
The following day at breakfast, Killian announced that it was time he kept his promise to his wife, and they were to sail to Arendale. It didn't even dawn on him that his automatic question of, "Is there anything you want us to deliver to Queen Elsa from Misthaven?" was a sign that he was falling into his role as royalty.
Snow forced a smile, and then her shoulders sagged. The smile slipped too. "I can't fool anyone. I'm going to really miss you both. You're right, though. You should go to see Elsa."
David rubbed her back and agreed, "Most parents don't get to keep their daughters with them when they marry, Snow. They'll be back and living here again."
Killian chuckled, "That's what happens when Emma is to inherit your kingdom. Although even then I've heard of heirs setting up their own homes until they move back into the palace later in life."
Snow gasped, "Should we let you-"
"No," Killian stated forcefully. "I didn't mean that. I actually like living here. If she sets up a new place, I'll miss her." He joked. "I need the knights close by to beat up regularly. That and David is working with me and teaching me more about running a kingdom."
Emma grabbed his hand under the table and said, "I think he was just saying that dad is right. It will only be for a short time, and we'll be back. We aren't moving out of the palace."
Snow let out a huge exhale, "I'm glad." She then looked at David with a look he couldn't read.
After breakfast, David pulled Snow into a nearby empty room. "What was that look for?"
She stepped into his arms, and he held her. She spoke into his chest. "What Killian only hinted about. Something I've known, but I didn't realize the full impact of until now."
"And that is?" David kissed the top of her head. She always affected him. Holding her that close made her affect even stronger.
"He could live anywhere and have Emma and knights around him." She pulled back and looked into his eyes. "What he can get here is you. You two have become really good friends." She smirked, "Even though you punched him."
"You noticed that?" he asked sheepishly.
"Yes. It was easy to figure out it was you."
"How?" he asked, confused about how they'd given it away.
Snow smirked, "I didn't receive any reports of a bar fight. You're the only one he wouldn't fight back against."
David burst out laughing. "If it makes you feel better, he admitted he deserved it."
She rolled her eyes. "Boys! You never grow up. And yes, it makes me feel better." She placed her head on his chest. "It matters that you're close with him."
"I'll be honest with you. I thought I would hate him." He shrugged. "I never thought we'd be such good friends."
"And now we'll miss them both." Snow replied.
"Yes, but I really think this trip will be good for them. Emma needs a friend like Elsa, and I'm sure Elsa needs Emma. Who doesn't need Emma in their life?"
Snow just nodded. "I agree. This trip feels like it will be important."
While Killian was down at the Cygnet informing the crew to supply the ship for their trip and map out their course, Emma was sitting on the floor by her trunk with the books that Rumple had given her on Neverland. She was interested in Dreamshade. It was terrible but fascinating. The information she was reading on the plant and the water that Liam had taken to heal himself was complicated.
She had asked Regina about water's living memory, but she hadn't heard about it. The information on the healing water had mentioned it in several areas. She knew Elsa had ice powers, and she was hoping she'd know something about the magical properties of water. It was one of the many reasons she was excited to go to Arendale.
She cross-referenced her information in the two volumes. She had it all practically memorized by now, but she still didn't want to miss a thing.
She just couldn't figure out where Liam's body went. It can't have just completely disappeared. Magic doesn't work that way. Right?
She carefully put the books back in her trunk and continued packing for her trip. She made sure to pack her pirate outfits. Killian may be in the Navy, but she wasn't. Plus, she liked how he looked at her when she wore her leather shorts, thigh-high boots, and corset. She liked it even more when he took it off of her at the end of the day.
She smiled to herself as she shut the lid of her trunk. She couldn't wait for their new adventure.
