After a long needed break I am back with a new story. This story you're about to read is one of many I've had in development for years but never made any progress. Well during Quarantine I finally got around to playing Pokemon: Shield, thus helping my creative gears get moving again. So without further ado, I present to you, Pokemon Journeys: The Heimlich Saga

Tut Rampy Stadium, the crown jewel of the Heimlich Region. Trainers from all over gather here every year and battle it out to win the opportunity to battle not only the Elite Four, but the chance to dethrone the reigning champion. Times like this the stadium would normally be booming with the roaring and cheering of spectators as the trainers and their Pokémon battled it out. However, at this very moment there was nothing but silence. After days of intense Pokémon battles it was down to the final two trainers.

Standing on the left side of the field was a young brown hair boy; his name was Hank Hill, a trainer from Arlen. The son of former League Champion, Cotton Hill. Starting out as the underdog Hank had proved himself to everyone that he had what it took to live up to his father's name. Across from him stood another young man only a couple of years older than himself. This was Ted Wasonasong; a Pokémon prodigy and the favorite amongst the spectators to win it all.

They both were down to their final Pokémon. Hank's Tauros stood before him as it struggled to stand on its four hooves after getting poisoned by Ted's Nidoking during the previous round. Despite that it managed to defeat the Drill Pokémon. Now the only thing standing in Hank's way of victory was Dragonite, Ted Wasonasong's last Pokémon. These two Pokémon were determined to claim victory for their respected trainers, even if that meant pushing their bodies to the limit.

"You might as well give up, Hank," Ted suggested, "Though you surprisingly defeated the rest of my team, I assure you that my Dragonite will achieve victory."

Hank scowled at him; "I'll tell you what, Tauros and I are going to kick your butts."

"Bring it on."

Hank took a deep breath then stared at his Tauros.

"Alright boy, I know you're weak, but I just need you to hang on just a little longer." Hank thought

The crowd cheered as Hank ordered his Tauros to use his Take Down attack. Ted smirked as the Wild Bull Pokémon charged towards Dragonite.

"I offered the fool a chance to surrender," Ted stated, "Dragonite, lets show him the price for that unwise decision, fire your Hyper Beam."

Hank gasped; "Oh no, Tauros-."

It was too late, the Hyper Beam at struck Tauros head on and blasted the Wild Bull Pokémon back where Hank watched as his Tauros landed on his side right in front of him. The crowd was once again silent as they waited to see if the match was truly over.

"Tauros, get up, you have to get up, we can still win." Hank begged

"Tauros has one minute to stand or Ted Wasonasong will be declared the winner." The referee informed

Hank began to panic as his dream of becoming the next Heimlich Region Champion was starting to fade away. Suddenly Tauros opened his left eye then began to use his forelegs to lift himself off the ground.

"YES!" Hank shouted in joy along with the crowd that resumed their cheering

"Impressive," an intrigued Ted said, "your Tauros has more fight in him then I thought."

Hank smirked; "That's why I'm going to win, for Tauros and I have the determination and spirit to-."

The crowd gasped as Tauros, who was back on all four feet fell back to the ground with a thud. All traces of noise had vanished in the stadium for a whole minute as everyone; even Ted, was waiting to see if Tauros was going to get up again. Unfortunately, that did not happen and the ref out of duty had no other choice.

"Tauros is unable to battle," He announced, "Dragonite wins, thus the victory goes to Ted Wasonasong of Luang Prabang."

"Super Nice!" Ted exclaimed

The stadium erupted in a mix of cheers and boos at the outcome of the match. Ted chuckled as he recalled his Dragonite before exiting the field. Hank's head hung low as he recalled his Tauros but unlike Ted he just stood there still trying to accept the fact that he had lost. Tears filled his eyes as three people ran up to him.

"It's all right, Hank," one of them said, "important thing is that you tried your best."

"Give it a rest, Bill, "a second voice spoke up, "it doesn't matter if he tried his best or not, the true masters behind the whole Pokémon League got what they wanted."

"True masters?" a confused Bill wondered

"The ones that orchestrated…."

"Got dang give it a rest, Dale," the third person said at an almost inaudible speed, "always about those dang ol' conspiracy theories and whatnot."

"Just you wait, Boomhauer, one day those theories will be proven true, and I promise you'll be begging for my forgiveness." Dale predicted

Boomhauer rolled his eyes. The trio then shifted their focus back to Hank who had not said a word since they arrived.

"Hank!" a new voice hollered

Dale, Bill, and Boomhauer turned then slowly backed away as the person who called out approached.

"Hank Rutherford Hill, look at me when I'm speaking at you!"

Hank lifted his head, and his eyes met the ones belonging to his father Cotton. Hank had disappointed his father a lot in his fourteen years of life. If you were to asked Cotton how he felt about his son's defeat, well… let us just say disappointed would not be anywhere near the top of the list.

"I thought getting my shins blasted off in the Great War was the most painful experience in my life," Cotton began, "yet somehow seeing my only son fail miserably bumped it down a spot."

"I'm sorry, dad, I did my-." Hank pointed out in hopes of calming down Cotton a bit

"Your best, is that what you were going to say," Cotton shouted, "for crying Pete's sake, I was the Heimlich Region Champion for six years and let me tell you that it takes a lot more than trying your best to achieve that position."

"I can just try again next year."

"TRY AGAIN, WHAT DID I JUST SAY, BOY?"

"I'll just train harder." Hank said

"No, you won't," Cotton stated, "I'm going to make sure that you never get the chance to embarrass me again."

"What do you mean?" Hank asked fearing the worse

"I'm going to have you blacklisted from competing in not only the Heimlich League, but all Pokémon battle competitions in the world."

"WHAT!?"

"Then you are going to give away all your Pokémon," Cotton added, "they deserve trainers who aren't failures."

Hank began to whimper as Cotton escorted him along with his friends out of the arena.

"Save your blubbering for the road, boy," Cotton said, "you've embarrassed me enough in this place already."

That day forever changed the lives of so many people. After the match Ted Wasonasong went on to defeat both the Elite Four and the Champion. However, within two years of his reign the Heimlich Pokémon League officially shut down. Even to this day the residents of the Heimlich Region never found on why their league closed. Fortunately, that was all about to change for the next generation of inspiring trainers.

Just a small taste of whats to come. While a story about a character going around catching Pokemon and collecting badges is a bit cliche, I'm planning on including other accepts from either the games or anime and may even do remakes of certain King of the Hill episodes but more Pokemon-ish. Also like any journey story the main character needs a starter; I have chosen starters for other characters but for Bobby I can't decide between Tepig, Bulbasaur, or Turtwig. In a way I'm creating my first write in vote on which of these three to choose for him. I'm also opened for Pokemon team suggestions. So if you wish please leave your vote in the reviews or send me a PM. Thank you.
