The day I, Izuku Midoriya, got my quirk was a strange one. At the time I was only four years old, the day was a little different, while most of the day was normal with me getting ridiculed for being quirkless, it was a little different as I had gotten beaten extra that day. I had stepped in when Kacchan tried to beat up a random girl who was the shortest in the class, she had 'talked back' to Kacchan and since she only had what he deemed a 'weak' quirk, he tried to beat her up, but I had stepped in and took the brunt of the beating while she ran.
I'm fairly certain that was the day I realized that not everyone is born equal, as kicks and punches some normal, some enhanced by tiny explosions rained down on me as the teachers looked on with disgusting satisfaction as they saw the quirkless kid getting taught their place, or some teachers looked way in quiet shame.
It was as the school day ended and I made my way into my quiet home, my mom always having to be at work at this hour, in a sickening routine I made my way to the bathroom to get the bruises and burns patched up as well as having to sow my clothes afterwards.
But it was as I went to open the mirror to our medical supplies that I realized something odd. There were no burns whatsoever, and even the bruises were extremely light in comparison to ever before, but I was only a child so I thought nothing of it and moved on with my day, and then it was I went to sleep that my whole life changed from then on.
When I awoke, I never truly awoke, instead, I was in a odd void like place and in this place that was black and white and no color whatsoever, off in the distances there were 'stars' that was the only way to describe them at the time, I counted sixteen in total, and before I noticed it one of the stars started to getting closer, it was pure orange in color and before I realized it was as though I was looking up at a pure orange sky. Pure instinct of the fear of the unknown made me want to run, but I quickly found I was rooted to the spot, and then, the orange sky swallowed me whole.
At this point I was close to freaking out, but then the sky seemed to open up, and emerging from it was a pure orange flame that seemed to shine brighter than the sky, and as it gently flowed down to me, I was at the edge of a panic attack, but suddenly the orange flame lunged at me, and as though instinct my right hand was jerked upward and the flame struck it, and suddenly I was flooded with a sense of calm.
I watched inraptured as the flame seemed to flow around my hand before wrapping itself around my middle finger and began to take the shape...of a ring. But the most interesting thing about the ring was its design, it was the shape of a hexagon with six section at each side, but the middle was cut off from the rest of the sides and in the middle rested a pure orange gem, and around it at each side were six onyx stones, and deep in the middle of the ring was a interactive emblem that was hard to make out but seemed to have bullets in it.
But at my young, precious age, I forgot something crucial in this seeming dream of flame.
Abruptly the sky began to rotating downward and as it made its way down, the orange to brown, and as the rich looking earth finally was underneath of me, I felt as though I really was standing on something, but suddenly the each in front of my ruptured as though a earthquake was occurring and from this rupture a pure orange flame flowed of the crack, understanding what I needed to do, I stuck my left hand out and the brown flame instantly launched itself at my hand and immediately began forming another ring around my middle finger.
Both the ring born from the sky and the ring born from the earth were incredibly similar, but the ring granted to me by the sky looked more elongated, and the gem in the middle of it was brown. Raising both of my hands up to look at the rings, the orange seemed to bring a sense of warmth but also elusiveness and longing, while the brown one brought a sense of homeliness but also understanding and sadness.
The orange was his father, the brown was his mother.
Suddenly the area around me began to contort around the ring on my left and suddenly chains grew around it, choking it? Suddenly I was in the middle of the void again but this time the Black 'star' seemed to eclipse the golden "star" while seven of the "stars" seemed to be chained and another six frozen, only the orange sky was untouched.
Abruptly I started to fade and was left with the sense, 'he was not ready'.
(but this part of the dream of flame is sealed.)
Izuku suddenly found himself waking up to his collectors Edition all might alarm clock, he then drowsily turned it off and went to rub his eye when suddenly he felt something blunt and heavy hit his eyebrow as he reached for his eye, and quickly realized its the ring!
He was shocked and in his shock the last thing he expected was for the ring to start sparking and then promptly explode into a campfire sized pure orange flame, where upon seeing this, Izuku promptly fainted, and with the disappearance of his consciousness so too did the flames disappear.
