Chapter 15: [Universe A] Unlocking the Portal Key Mystery Act I
- When one mystery is solved, many more are left unsolved. -
Sapphire, Wisely and Rasp was getting their stuff packed into the back of Sapphire's Camry car. Rollen, Nina, and Meiru were present to see them off and give their farewells.
"Have a safe trip back home," Rollen said.
"Sapphire-chan, don't forget to send an email to us from time to time!" Meiru reminded.
"Thanks, bye!" Sapphire replied. Rasp and Wisely also wave their goodbyes as the white car drove out of the hotel's parking lot.
Masa, who was pushing his takoyaki cart, saw her car and gave a huge smile as he waves back even though they didn't see him.
Miyuki was sweeping in front of her store when she saw Sapphire's car. She gave a smile as she sees the car pass.
Saloma has arranged the plants outside her shop and smiles as Sapphire's car drives past her shop.
At the Akihara Elementary School, recess was starting and Kaita gets an email from Wisely that she has already left with Sapphire and Rasp. They are returning to Cyber City. "What a shame," Kaita said, "I wish we didn't have school today, we would give them our last goodbyes."
After an eight-hour car drive, the three arrived back in Cyber City as they pulled up to Green Town and in front of Sapphire's home, Opal and Shard were there waiting. "Sapphire," Shard said, "Welcome home!" "Hey guys," Sapphire said. "Oh, are they, Opal and Shard?" Wisely said. "Nice to meet you," Opal said with a smile, "I don't think we have officially met before but Sapphire has mentioned you two, I'm Opal." "And I'm Shard," Shard greeted while holding a peace sign, "Oh I forgot, this is BlueHero, my Navi!" "Nice to meet you," BlueHero said with a friendly smile. "And I'm KuroRock," KuroRock said with a blank expression though many thought he had an annoyed expression on his face.
"I'm Wisely," Wisely introduced, "And this is my Navi, Kaida!" Kaida appears on her left shoulder with a kind smile. "I'm Rasp said, "This is my NetNavi, Jaggedman." Jaggedman appears on his left shoulder.
"Well, now that introductions are out of the way, how was your trip Sapphire?" Shard asked. "Well, it was interesting, I met Rollen again along with some new people," Sapphire replied. "Really, that sounds nice," Opal said. "Yup, we even get to see Rockman again," FlowerGirl added. "Rockman, isn't that Netto's NetNavi?" Opal asked. "Yes, I meet him again," Sapphire said. "Yeah, but here's the strange part," Wisely said, "Rollen and Hikari-hakase said that she staring weirdly at Rockman." "Weirdly?" Shard said. "Ahem," Sapphire coughed, "I'm right here. I was just examining him that's all."
"Anyway, Corla emailed us," Shard said, "She told us to come to get you once you get back from your trip." "What did she say?" Sapphire asked. "Don't know," Opal replied, "But she told us that she wants all of us at the Central Town Museum." "May we tag along?" Wisely said. "Huh, sure," Shard said, "The more, the merrier."
- Central Town [Museum] -
Corla was waiting patiently in front of the Central Town Museum. She then sees Sapphire, Shard, and Opal, but she didn't recognize Rasp and Wisely. "Oh, you're all here," The black-haired girl said, "but who are the two people behind you?" "Oh, sorry, are you Sapphire's friend?" Wisely asked. "No," Corla stated, "I'm more of an acquaintance, I'm Corla. Nice to meet you." "I'm Rasp and this is my Navi Jaggedman," Rasp introduced. "I'm Wisely and this is my Navi, Kaida," Wisely added. "I'm Corla," Corla introduced, "And this is my Navi, Glacia." "Hey, nice to meet you!" Glacia greeted.
"Alright, since you're all here, let's get down to business," Corla said, "Sapphire you emailed about a Portal Key you have?" "Huh, Portal Key?" Wisely said, "What is that and why does Sapphire have one?" "I've heard of this," Corla said, "In the Legend of Draco and Purity." "The Legend of Draco and Purity?" Rasp repeated. "I've never heard of this legend, before," Wisely added, "What is this all about?" "Follow me and I'll tell you," Corla said.
Corla leads the five people inside a room that contains the painting of Draco with indecipherable writing on the upper left.
"Is this?" Rasp said as he sees the painting for the first time. "This painting is very beautiful," Wisely said, "Who painted this?" "I'm not too sure," Corla said, "but by the condition of this painting. It is preserved very well. By looks of it, it was created at least a thousand years ago. This painting is actually a piece of a larger painting." "Then what happened to the other parts?" Wisely asked. "They were lost to time," Corla replied, "This is just a fragment of a larger painting. If only we have the other pieces..." "So Corla," Sapphire said, "The reason I called you is that I found a mysterious key." "Oh, yeah Opal and Shard said something like that," Wisely said.
"Alright let me see it," Corla said. Sapphire hands her the Portal B Key. "Is this a Portal Key?" Corla examined, "It's different than I expected, where did you find this?" "I just accidentally stumble upon it on my trip to Densan City," Sapphire said. "Really? I found that hard to believe," Corla said, "So this is one of the fabled Portal Keys." "Hey Corla, I hate to ask but what is this Portal Key?" Wisely asked. "The Portal Keys is what Draco and Purity's vessels use to travel between the four dimensions," Corla explained. "Four dimensions?" Rasp said, "You mean there are three different versions of our world?" "Yes, if my limited knowledge serves me correct then this is a Portal Key that can travel between the four dimensions," Corla said, "But by the looks of it, this Portal Key only sends us to one dimension, the B Dimension." "The B Universe?" Rasp said confused. "What kind of name is that?" Shard said at the bland name. "Well, that's what the dimensions are called," Corla explained, "Since there are four dimensions, there are four portal keys, each key represents each dimension." "So wait," Shard processed, "these keys will let us travel to other dimensions?" "Yes," Corla said, "But the issue is how to use them? These portal keys are only met for the vessels, not normal people." "So we have to wait until someone knows how to use it?" Rasp said. "Unfortunately yes," Corla added, "since we don't have any other options."
Later that day, Sapphire was calling by payphone as she was actually contacting her friend in Sharo. A video image of her appeared on the T.V. screen connected to the phone. The friend was female. She had lime green hair tied into a curly ponytail similar to a drill with a blue ribbon and brown eyes. She wore an azure overcoat over a black shirt. A white scarf was wrapped around her neck. She wore a pink skirt, black stockings, and pink and white boots with black soles.
"Hey, Crysilla!" Sapphire addressed.
"Hey, Sapphire," Crysilla greeted, "It's been a while since our last call!"
"Yeah, time does fly," Sapphire added.
"I know," Crysilla said, "I know my hometown doesn't have the best reception but it's not too bad since my mom already bought a new router last week so the reception should be good."
"I see," Sapphire said, "How are you and your cousin, Trevor doing?"
"Well, we're both doing fine actually!" Crysilla said, "I know dad has been really busy since he is working for the Sharo Government and mom has been working part-time as a cash register at a local gas station. It's gotten pretty lonely..."
"Is Trevor keeping you company?" Sapphire said worried about Crysilla's well-being. "Well, Trevor is staying with us for a while until his deployment in about three months," Crysilla said, "So yeah, he's keeping me company." "That's good," Sapphire said, "Well, when are you coming to visit us?"
"I'm not too sure but Trevor is coming to Cyber City for the Expo," Crysilla said, "If I ask my parents, then I'll go with him to visit you!"
"That's great, Crysilla," Sapphire said, "I hope to see you soon."
"Bye," Crysilla said as the T.V. changed to black indicating that the call ended.
- Green Town [Sapphire's House] -
Sapphire invited Opal, Shard, and Corla for dinner and all six people including their Navis were having a conversation. "So, what should we do the Portal Key?" Rasp started. "Well, for one we should keep it safe," Corla said, "Some people would want this for their own benefit." Sapphire looks down at the Portal B Key, "You're right, but shouldn't we put it in a safer place?" "Didn't your uncle gave you a safe on your 16th Birthday?" Rasp suggested. "Oh, you're right on that," Sapphire said, "but I may not always be at home to guard it." "Don't worry," Wisely said, "Cyber City is a very secure place. Even if someone did rampage here, they'll easily be caught by the officials." "You're right on that," Sapphire said.
In the Kitchen Comp, FlowerGirl was talking to KuroRock, BlueHero, Glacia, Kaida, and Jaggedman. "So Flower-chan, what are you and Sapphire-san going to do now?" Glacia asked. "Well, for once, we need to find out how the Portal Key works," Kaida said, "I mean we know what it does but the bigger question is how to activate it." "Good point," Jaggedman replied. "Could we search over the net to find more information?" KuroRock suggested. "If that was the case, then we should check museum sites," Glacia said, "But information will be very limited, but it is worth a shot." "Okay then," FlowerGirl said, "Tomorrow, we'll find a way to unlock the Portal Key's power." Everyone silently agreed.
That night, Opal, Shard, and Corla went back to Central Town to rest.
- Sky Town [Nicky's Fashion Cafe] -
Sky Town was a town placed high in the sky. It has vastly improved as there were handrails and a force field similar to a Dimensional Area to protect the residents from falling a great height and provide oxygen through their air system. Due to these improvements, some people have started to live there, most were workers with families. Due to the slow growth, there have been some shops including a small cafe with a usual gimmick which was fashion.
This fashion cafe called Nicky's Fashion was pretty popular with kids, teens, and young adults. The inside interior had pink and white striped walls and cream white tiles. There was simple, wooden furniture such as circular tables and chairs with beige cushions. There was a cash register stand with a sweets display a variety of pastries. Behind and above the cashier was an electronic billboard with the menu of all the foods displayed. There a picture of a long-haired girl with pink hair and a floral dress smiling at the camera.
"Ugh, why did we come to this place..." Opal said, "There's too much pink..." "We're just going to be here for a while, Opal," KuroRock said, "Just be patient." "Okay," Sapphire said, "Now that we are here. Let's further discuss the Portal Key and the Letter Dimensions." "The Letter Dimensions?" Wisely said confused, "Is it because they're named after letters?" "Yes," Sapphire said, "Anyway, what if these dimensions are connected to one unified dimension." "Connected to one unified dimension?" Corla said, "What gives you that impression?" "It's something I've been thinking," Sapphire said, "All these dimensions have to be connected somehow? What if they're connected a dimension not seen." "Really?" Shard said in disbelief, "I find it hard to believe, then what is it called?" "I believe it's called the Cyber Zone," Sapphire said. "The Cyber Zone?" Wisely repeated. "Yes, a place connects all the four dimensions," Sapphire continued. "So where is it?" Shard asked. "I'm not too sure since only vessels of Draco or Purity can access it," Sapphire answered. "It could be that if we gather all the Portal Keys we could access this mysterious Cyber Zone," Corla deducted, "But that's highly unlikely since we don't know where the rest are." "Could be," Sapphire said as takes the B Key that was hidden inside her jacket.
A maid wearing pink clothes and carrying a lunch tray came to their table. "Excuse me, are you ready to order?" "Uh, not yet," Sapphire said, "We're still ordering."
- Sky Town [Weather Control Building] -
After ordering and paying for their meals, Sapphire and her friends arrived at the Weather Control Building to further discuss their plans. On their way there, they saw a few officials confronted by the workers of the building. Among them were Enzan, Yuuichiro, and Meijin. "Hey isn't that Enzan, Yuuichiro-san, and Meijin-san?" Wisely points out, "What are they doing here? The gang then remains silent to listen to the conversation.
"Now, I know you are worried about Sky Town's Force Field since it is similar to a Dimensional Area but do not worry, we haven't had any reports of viruses materializing in the area," one employee reported. "That's good," Yuuichiro said, "Ever since the government banned certain materials to recreate a Dimensional Area we have to inspect similar machines to make sure they don't break the laws." "Well, let us take a look at the machine for an inspection and we'll be on our way," Meijin said. Yuuichiro and Meijin went with the other workers but Enzan stayed behind. "Enzan!" Wisely cried. "You guys..." The skunk-haired boy said. He recognized Sapphire, Wisely, and Rasp but not Opal, Shard, and Corla. "Oh right, these are my friends that live here," Sapphire introduced, "This is Opal, Shard, and Corla. Their Navis are KuroRock, BlueHero, and Glacia." Their Navis appear on their shoulders but what unnerved Enzan was BlueHero as he looks like Dark Blues but at closer inspection; he was much friendlier. He also notices that KuroRock was an older version of Dark Rockman. "Opal, Shard how did you obtain those Navis?" Enzan asked. "Oh, I was surfing the web one day and found some data," Opal replied, "I decided to add them to my old Navi and after many modifications I got KuroRock. I decided to do the same with Shard's and he got BlueHero." "It's just unnerving that they look like the Dark Versions of my Navi, Blues, and Rockman," Enzan noted. "Oh, sorry about that," Opal frowned, "I didn't mean to bring back bad memories." "It's fine," Enzan said, "I'm already past that since I have Blues back." "So why are you here?" Wisely asked. "We here to inspect Sky Town's Force Field to see if it is acting up," Enzan answered, "Ever since the release a couple of years ago we have to make sure no viruses have infiltrated into the real world since the materials that make it up are similar to a Dimensional Converter."
"I see," Sapphire said, "Well glad you're doing alright. Is Rockman with Yuuichiro-san?" "Huh, yes," Enzan said, "He also decided to bring Haruka with him." "Haruka?" Sapphire said confused. "Yes, Haruka Hikari is Yuuichiro's wife," Enzan explained, "They're going to be here for at least a couple of months." "So what about the others?" Sapphire said, "Is Rollen coming here?" "Well, I did ask him," Enzan said, "Yes, Rollen is coming here as well. As well as Laika along with a few of the soldiers that share the same unit as him." "Our friend, Crysilla is also from Sharo, so she's coming with her cousin, Trevor," Sapphire informed. "But didn't you tell us that Crysilla was still waiting for her parent's permission?" Rasp asked. "Well, I just got an email that she is coming here," Sapphire clarified. "That's wonderful!" Wisely said, "The whole crew is coming together again! The Chroma Crew will be back in action!" "The Chroma Crew?" Opal said confused. "It's actually a crew formed originally by Sapphire, Rollen, Rasp, and Crysilla." "Yeah, I remember how we all came together," Sapphire said, "We all used to live in the same city. We were about 10 - 11 years old, we spent so much time together that we formed a little group called The Chroma Crew. But once we had to start middle school, we all moved away to different countries. Rollen went to live with his dad in Aijina, Rasp went to Ameroupe and Crysilla went to Sharo. I actually was the only one who stayed in Japan. I moved to Cyber City and met new friends, Opal, Shard, Corla, and their Navis." "You mean that you were born in a different city?" Enzan said. Sapphire nodded, "That's right, that is also the same city I first got FlowerGirl." "That's pretty sad to move away from your hometown to adjust here," Wisely said. "It wasn't too hard," Sapphire said, "Only memories now reside there."
"Anyway, we were just curious about what you were doing here," Shard said. Rasp then whispers to Sapphire on trusting Enzan on the Portal Key Investigation, Sapphire shook her head no as Enzan even with his official status may not have useful information on the mythology of Draco and Purity.
The door then opens to reveal Yuuchiro and Meijin. "Sapphire-chan, Wisely-chan, and Rasp-kun, I didn't expect you here," Yuuichrio said. "Well, Wisely and Rasp are visiting from Ameroupe, I live here with my friends Opal, Shard, and Corla," Sapphire corrected. "I see," Yuuichiro said, "Well, Sapphire-chan, how about I invite you to my house for dinner tonight." "Huh? Only me? Not my other friends or acquaintances?" Sapphire said confused, "And your wife is okay with this?" "Don't worry, I called Haruka and she said it was okay," Yuuichiro said, "Besides we don't know any other people other than you, so please take it as a token of acceptance." "Okay, thanks," Sapphire said.
- Central Town [New Hikari Household] -
Sapphire had arrived at a house with a blue roof. Inside there was a living room with a walk-in kitchen. The floor was wooden but there were black and white tiles on the kitchen floor. There were red counters and a pink fridge. Besides the fridge was a sliding door leading to a backyard. There was also a flat-screen TV next to a potted plant, an orange rug, and a couch. "I'm here," Sapphire said as she removes her shoes and replaces them with slippers. "Ah, you must be Sapphire-chan," Haruka said, "Hold on, aren't you the girl I saw a few days ago?" "Uh, yeah I was touring around your neighborhood," Sapphire said, "I apologize for not introducing myself earlier." "That's alright," Haruka said, "I am Haruka, Yuuichiro's wife." "Yuuichiro's wife? So your Netto's mother?" Sapphire asked. "Yes," Haruka said, "It has been a while since someone called me that. Well then, since you came early, dinner is still ready." "Is it okay if I look around?" Sapphire asked, "I promise I won't take anything." "Sure, you may look around," Yuuichiro said, "Dinner will be ready soon."
Sapphire protrudes around and first uses a door beside the sliding doors. It was a small bathroom with lavender walls and white tiled floors. There was a small sink with a mirror above it, a white toilet with a blue seat, a window with purple curtains, and a shelf with toiletries on it. "Guess this is the bathroom," Sapphire noted.
She then returns to the living room and goes to the door beside the T.V. It leads to a small hallway with beige carpet stairs with two doors. Sapphire opens the right one first and it was the master bedroom that had a big bed with floral patterns on it. There were lavender walls with a beige carpet, a walk-in closet where Yuuichiro and Haruka's clothes were being stored, a dresser with a mirror, and two lamps on each side. But what caught Sapphire's interest was a photo of Netto with his parents. She picks it up with interest, "So this was the last family photo before Netto's death. How tragic." She puts the photo down and goes back outside the halls. She then goes to the door on the left, and to her surprise, it was a kid's bedroom. The floors were wooden with a soccer theme rug, a blue bed with a yellow stripe on the comforter, and a computer desk. Sapphire notices that there were pictures of Netto from when he was a baby to the day of his 'death'. Across from her was a small shrine that had some items that Netto treasure in his time here.
"Sapphire-chan?" Rockman uttered, "What are you doing here?" "Rockman, I should be asking the same thing," Sapphire said, "Why are there so many pictures of Netto here?" "Oh, we decided to put them there in memory of him," Rockman replied, "When Papa comes home, he puts me in this room. It's hard to explain but I feel very safe and comfy here. As if Netto-kun was still here." "Maybe it's because of familiarity?" Sapphire explained. Rockman was confused but kept on listening. "I believe it's because of your feelings with Netto," Sapphire said. "My feelings with Netto-kun?" Rockman said confused. "Think about it, since Netto's 'death' you have felt lost," Sapphire explained, "so being here made you feel safe due to familiarity since it reminds you of what you lost and cherish." "Actually that still makes some sense," FlowerGirl said, "I mean if you were suddenly gone then I would feel safe in your room since that's the place I'm the most familiar with. Maybe that's why Rockman behaves that way is because Netto's room is the most familiar with."
"Sapphire-chan! Dinner is ready!" Haruka cried out. "Well, I guess dinner is done," Sapphire said, "Rockman is okay if I take the P.E.T. downstairs? Don't worry I'll plug you into a nearby PC to chat with FlowerGirl while I chat with the Hikari Family." Rockman nods in agreement as Sapphire takes the blue P.E.T from its holster and takes it with her downstairs. She then plugs both Navis into the Kitchen Comp while she joins the Hikari family for dinner.
At the dinner table, Yuuichiro was sitting across Sapphire and Haruka was sitting on Yuuichiro's left. Today's dinner was curry rice, Netto's favorite meal. "Huh, it has been a while since we had this for a meal," Yuuichiro said, "the last time we had was when..." "Yes when Netto was still with us," Haruka said, "I don't know that but I feel that we should have it today." Sapphire tastes Haruka's curry, "It tastes wonderful, Haruka-san." She just stares at the couple in worry, has Netto's absence affected their marriage because she can see feel some tension. Haruka then brightens the mood with Sapphire's personal life. Sapphire blinks at Haruka since she just suddenly changes the topic.
Inside the Kitchen Comp, FlowerGirl was chatting with Rockman's adventures with Netto. FlowerGirl chuckled about some of them, "So let me get this straight when you and Netto visited Namaste after winning the 2nd place in the N1 Grand Prix, Netto got really fat after eating so much curry?" Rockman shook his head after reliving that memory, "I told him not to eat too much curry. It was some sort of All-You-Can-Eat Curry Tour when you have to eat 88 different dishes of curry in three days. It was an absurd idea from the start. I don't know how he manages to eat all of that without throwing up. Turns out it was a set up by the ex-WWW members to get even with Netto-kun with the use of a curry-making machine." "Wait," FlowerGirl tried processing, "The ex-WWW members tried to defeat Netto with a curry-making machine?" "Yeah," Rockman nodded, "Looking back that was a weird adventure." "Tell me another one!" FlowerGirl said. "Alright," Rockman said with a small smile, "There was this incident in KuChinatown back when Netto-kun and I got back home, Netto-kun made plans with Meiru-chan, Dekao-kun, Tohru-kun, and Yaito-chan to go to KuChinatown early to try the Space Steamed Meatbuns. However, Netto woke up late since the alarm clock got mysteriously tampered with." "Wait, you mean someone went inside the alarm clock's net and tampered with it?" FlowerGirl said confused. Rockman nodded and continued his story, "Right, Netto-kun sent me inside to a fake KuChinatown's Network set up by the Cutman Brothers." "Cutman Brothers?" FlowerGirl asked. "Right, apparently there was a band of Navis that share a similar appearance to Cutman," Rockman explained, "But I defeated them with the help of Blues. Although, Netto-kun got a huge scolding from his friends even though it wasn't entirely his fault." "That was pretty funny," FlowerGirl said, "But don't you think that the Cutman Brothers must have sabotaged the alarm clock to make Netto purposely late so they can execute their plan?" "Why would they do that?" Rockman said confused by FlowerGirl's answer. "You don't believe me?" FlowerGirl asked. "No, I believe you," Rockman replied, "In fact, it could be plausible."
An awkward silence fills the comp, FlowerGirl noticed that Rockman was in a somber mood again. She wonders if bringing up Netto had brought up some bad memories. "Rockman? Are you okay?" FlowerGirl said. The blue Navi then turned to face the blonde Navi, "I'm alright." However, deep down, he was still thinking about the train accident and Netto's mysterious demise.
After dinner, Sapphire said goodbye to Yuuichiro and Haruka as she retrieves FlowerGirl from the KitchenComp. She then takes the Levitate Bus back to Green Town.
- Green Town [Sapphire's House] -
When Sapphire returns to her home, Rasp and Wisely greet her. "Welcome home, Sapphire!" Wisely greeted. "How was the dinner with the Hikaris?" Rasp asked. "Well, it felt somber," Sapphire said, "Dr. Hikari and Haruka-san sure seem to miss Netto." "Well I can't imagine what it's like to lose a child," Wisely frowned as she was washing the dishes. "So what's the plan tomorrow?" Rasp asked. "We're going to further discuss Corla on gathering more information on the Portal Keys." Sapphire said, "Oh I almost forgot, Cyber City's Expo opening is tomorrow morning. If we can't find anything then we will go to Cyber City's Expo." "Oh yeah, I forgot," Wisely said, "I can't wait to see what new inventions come their way!"
Later that night, everyone retired to bed. In Sapphire's room, the blue-haired girl was snuggled under the covers in her dreams, she saw Netto and Draco again in the same place. "Hello, Netto," Sapphire said. "Hi, Onee-san," Netto said, "So how was your day." "Netto, listen," Sapphire said, "I saw your parents and Navi today. They have moved to my home city and are living in Central Town. So if you decide to come to visit you have to face them." "Oh, bummer," Netto said, "I guess I have to face them sooner or later." "By the way, Netto, do you or Draco know how the Portal Keys work?" Sapphire asked. "Why yes, I do know," Draco said, "You see to use the Portal Key you must find the Ancient Relic." "The Ancient Relic?" Sapphire asked, "What is that?" "It some sort of central HUB in which it will show the four portals, use the key on the correct one and it will transport you there." Draco explained, "However if you use this, you can't go back to your dimension unless you have your dimension's Portal Key." "So if I use this to go Universe B, I can't go home unless I have the A Portal Key," Sapphire comprehended. "Hey, Onee-san, stay there," Netto said, "My friends and I will go to Universe A and we will discuss it. Bu the way, Draco why didn't you tell me earlier?" "Well, I checked Akemi City and notice that there was no sign of the Ancient Relic, but there is an Ancient Relic in Universe A is located somewhere in your hometown." Draco explained, "Hard to believe isn't it?" "So wait, the Ancient Relic is buried somewhere in my hometown?" Sapphire said, "It was right under our noses?" "That's right," Draco said, "Here's a hint, the Ancient Relic is located in a place abandoned long ago." "So somewhere in Green Town in which a place that had been abandoned for a long time?" Sapphire repeated, "I wonder where?" "Good luck, Sapphire-chan, Netto and I have our full support," Draco said, "Just find the Ancient Relic and establish it." "Got it," Sapphire nodded. Sapphire suddenly felt her vision get fuzzy as the dream ends.
