High key want to spin this into a multi-chapter story. Low key don't have the time and energy. I purposely left this out of my A Meadow of White Roses just in case I do want to commit to this in the future.
*White Rose Week 2020 Day 6: Forbidden Love
Alcohol.
"Drink! Drink! Drink! Drink!" A few drunkards, who initially planned on drowning their sorrows all by themselves tonight, had now banded together with other patrons in the bar. They surrounded the dinky size table and watched the two sisters duel in a drinking contest. A budding Rose trying to earn her thorns had challenged the barrel guzzler, Xiao Long. Bets had been placed, and the crowd favorite, Xiao Long, was expected to win.
Lots of alcohol.
"That's glass number eight!" Ruby whooped, as she slammed her empty shot glass down. If Yang demanded a fight, then she would play her sister at her own game. The lightheadedness that Ruby felt from glass number six wasn't going to stop her. Nope. She wasn't going to admit defeat — not until Yang blacked out first.
Yang drained her glass dry and flipped it upside down. Not a single drop remained. She smirked because Ruby was fighting a losing battle.
A fuckton of alcohol.
The bartender swung by and filled their glasses to the brim. Brain sloshing around hopefully inside her head, Ruby stared at the colorless, toxic liquid ready to kill her. This single shot could do her in and the cheers buzzing in the background had been pressuring her to take it. Despite Yang's warnings, Ruby downed the glass anyways.
A shit ton of juice.
"Ruby, put that down! That's not water! Ugh — Ruby! Ruby?! Where did you go?!"
An attractive woman.
Ruby checked her breath twice. It didn't smell like mint; it reeked of alcohol. She half-heartedly shrugged because what more do you expect from a bar? It was better than having a breath that stunk like garlic fries.
Ruby slid onto the barstool next to the incredibly stunning, young woman. She combed through her own hair to add some charm and purred her killer opening liner.
"Hey, Beautiful." Ruby threw in a smoldering smile that had never left a woman dry.
"Hey yourself." The woman flashed an irresistible smile, one that was unexpectedly more tantalizing than the woman herself.
Ruby had decided. This fine specimen was going to be her ten course meal tonight. She knew a flirt when she saw it, and that low cut dress left little to the imagination. Ruby was dying to know what this woman tasted like.
"Can I buy you a drink?"
"I would love one."
Ruby woke up to a headache grounding into her temples like a jackhammer. She solemnly swore to never challenge Yang into a drinking contest. She had consumed enough alcohol to permanently damage her brain.
Groaning, Ruby massaged her temples harder after experiencing another pounding throb. She blamed herself for drinking an excessive amount of alcohol and juice. There was not enough water in her system to counter it. Although the alcohol had gotten her smashed, she did smash the hottest girl in the room.
If there was anything Ruby had regretted that night, she regretted not taking this beauty to bed sooner. This woman knew how to make magic spark. She had given Ruby a private spelling lesson that required a lot of tongue and minimal clothes. Two minutes into their session, Ruby had no trouble remembering this woman's name.
During their night alone together, the woman's tongue had moved down and up in sharp precisions to draw a W. She had followed the letter closely with a pair of repeating curves to write the E. Her tongue had flicked down for a solid glide, and after sharply gasping for air, Ruby had barely caught the letter I. The woman had concluded their lesson with double hairpin turns to spell out a set of S.
Weiss.
Weiss had engraved her name in tongue multiple times, and Ruby could never forget the sensation that shot her up to the moon.
Ruby rolled onto her side and nestled into Weiss' sleeping form until their naked bodies flushed together. While her mind silently praised Weiss for keeping her warm throughout the night, her fingers drew small circles on Weiss' stomach.
Weiss mumbled an incoherent noise and stirred in Ruby's arms half asleep. "Keep that up and we might have ourselves a fourth round," she slurred drowsily.
"Did I wake you?" Ruby paused her delicate rubs.
"You did," Weiss let out a very cute yawn in the middle of her sentence, "but that's alright. For the most part, I slept pretty well." As soon as Weiss fluttered her eyes open, she stretched out her stiffed limbs. "Oh god," her breath-like groan was just as hot as last night moans, "my body is aching on so many levels. I don't think the alcohol is to blame."
"Whoops," Ruby smirked, her expression anything but apologetic. She mentally patted herself on the shoulder for sending this divine goddess back to heaven.
As much as she enjoyed being the big spoon, Ruby climbed on top of Weiss. There were many fish in the sea, but it wasn't often that she found a good catch. Ruby did not want to miss out the perfect view of a catch this beautiful.
"I think you might have ripped some of my hair off," Ruby chuckled after noticing a few stray strands of her own hair on the sheets.
"Take it as a compliment," Weiss purred. She purposely lifted Ruby's chin after catching those silver eyes wandering down mischievously from her own. "You know how to make that pretty mouth of yours useful."
"What can I say?" Ruby's voice dipped low to match the same flirtatious tone Weiss had. "I love to please my women."
When Weiss carded through Ruby's hair, Ruby fluttered her eyes half-shut at the soothing sensation. The fingers running through her scalp were more gentle in comparison to that hair ripping grasp from yesterday night. Ruby saw how a couple of more strands fell loose and she had to ask.
"Is my hair shedding all over the place?"
"Like a dog," Weiss giggled.
Holy fuck, her laugh sounded even better when Ruby was sober. She thought the sweet carol that had bounced against these walls were good, but this laugh just sent her to heaven.
"Please rip all of my hair if I get to do this again."
"Tempting." Weiss crook a smile. "But I like your hair." She pushed Ruby's bangs over to one side but the red locks fell back where it was originally. It started tickling Weiss' face like a feather on skin. "It's really soft. What kind of conditioner do you use?"
Ruby tried tossing her hair back, but it just curtained over their faces. It added more frazzleness to the sex hair she had already going on.
"A cheap knock off brand — oh, thanks!" Ruby grinned appreciatively when Weiss tucked her hair out of their faces. Now there was nothing blocking this beautiful view.
Weiss looped her arms around Ruby's shoulders and played with the baseline of her hair. "Mm, you think I can borrow some?"
Ruby never thought that getting her hair twirled like this felt so nice. "Are you implying that you want to come home with me?"
"Buy me dinner first," Weiss hummed.
"How about today?" Ruby asked, her tone dropping dangerously seductive. It was the same husky voice she used on Weiss yesterday night. The one that had Weiss climbing onto her lap in less than five minutes and leaving kisses that blossomed into hickeys. "Do you want to grab dinner with me?"
"Let's do a raincheck," Weiss crooned, her hand skidding down along Ruby's cheek until she cupped it. "Today isn't the best day for me. I have important businesses that must come first."
Ruby pouted.
"That won't work on me," Weiss laughed. She carefully brushed over Ruby's lower lip in languid strokes until the pout went jaw dropping slack.
Those silver eyes that Weiss had been carefully keeping track of doubled in size as Ruby got lost in the sensation. Smirking, Weiss traced those lips with purpose until she reached the far corner of Ruby's mouth. She hooked her finger in and stretched, snapping Ruby from her dream-like haze.
"Ow," Ruby echoed hollowly after Weiss had tugged a goofy side smile on her face. She looked like a fish that had been caught by a fishing line. If only that finger had gone somewhere less appropriate.
"Are you back from your dreams yet?" Weiss unhooked her finger.
Ruby breathed out a content sigh looking like she had been smitten by the God of Love. "No because the woman of my dreams is right here."
"Flattery won't get you anywhere," Weiss smiled coquettishly.
"Are you sure? I was hoping it'll get me some breakfast in bed." Ruby then booped Weiss on the nose with a finger. "Guess who's on the menu."
"Me-n-u?" Weiss guessed effortlessly, her sapphire eyes twinkling at the idea. "Sounds like you want to show me another good time."
"Only if you let me, Beautiful."
"Mm…" Weiss made a delightful sound as if the compliment was the most delicious thing she had heard all day. She brought her hand down from Ruby's cheek and rubbed them across the woman's broad shoulders. Her curious palm then inched its way lower, getting a good feel of how much muscles were packed in this petite body. "Call me beautiful again."
"So beautiful..." Ruby whispered, already hypnotized by the way Weiss was touching her.
Weiss pushed Ruby backwards and guided her down onto her back. Ruby laid flat on the bed, giving Weiss free rein to do whatever she wanted. She shuddered in anticipation as the memories of last night came flooding back to her.
The nails raking into the headboard and the sweet cry when Weiss rode after her pleasure — Ruby found herself breathing a lot harder and faster from just thinking about it. But instead of breakfast straddling on top of her face, Weiss sat up to fix her hair.
One minute of waiting, Ruby pouted after realizing she was left high and very dry. "You're such a tease."
Weiss quirked her lips apologetically, but to Ruby's eyes it always looked like a sultry smile. "You know I would love to…"
"But…" Ruby could guess where this was going. No breakfast, which was the most important meal of the day.
"But I have a feeling breakfast might accidentally extend to lunch, and before we know it, it's already dinner."
"Fiiiiiine." Huffing, Ruby crossed her arms because Weiss brought up a good point. Knowing her self-control, which was negative one hundred percent, this could turn out to be a whole day all you can eat buffet.
"Can I see you later tonight?" Ruby asked as she pushed herself up until her back was resting against the headboard. She watched Weiss trying to tame her platinum locks with her fingers, but Weiss could only do so much without a brush. "Like, late at night when you're done with what you need to do? I really want to see you again."
"Hmm, maybe," Weiss said noncommittally. Half of the blankets fell to the floor when she moved to the edge of the bed. She reached into a drawer of a nightstand and returned with a pen in her hand. "Give me a call tonight." Weiss winked after writing a neat string of numbers onto Ruby's arm. "I might be free."
"Y-Yeah, for sure." Ruby stammered. She then lifted her arm up and absently traced the ten digit number with her eyes as if they were constellations.
Her head started to feel a lot lighter than yesterday night, but she knew it wasn't the alcohol's doing. It was the giddy feelings that were making her dizzy. She secretly prayed this wasn't a fake number.
Ruby moved her eyes away from her arm, but they immediately glued onto the pastel blue snowflake on Weiss' lower back. She thought the ruby colored belly button ring she had discovered yesterday was incredibly hot, but this inked art was distracting on its own.
"Like what you see?" Weiss glanced over her shoulder, smirking. Ruby had that dreamy look that accentuated her smile when she stared.
"You're so goddamn gorgeous," Ruby murmured. Kicking the other half of the blankets, she scrambled out of the bed and followed over to Weiss who had shimmied back into her slim fitted dress. Ruby helped with the final touches by pulling the back zipper up.
"Thank you." Weiss adjusted her dress one more time. She took a last check in one of the hotel room's abundant mirrors that she knew had worked wonderfully well.
Ruby pulled Weiss back into her arms and left plenty of butterfly kisses at the side of Weiss' neck, enough to make those lonely lips she hadn't kissed in awhile jealous.
"I think I've told you this before but I like your dress," Ruby sighed in daze, "I prefer it on the bedroom floor though."
Weiss arched her neck, enjoying the affectionate kisses, as they rocked side to side like a pair of waddling penguins. "Don't think I don't know what you're doing."
"It worked the first time."
"Only because you're cute."
Ruby nuzzled her face into Weiss' neck. "How about the second time?"
"You're still cute." Weiss then wormed her way out of those tight arms. She feared she might not be able to climb back up if she sank into the pits of Ruby's endless affection. "But I'm afraid I can't stay, Ruby," she said, turning to face her.
"Hey, you remember my name!" Ruby was such an adorable sunshine when she registered her own name. Her excitement was more than a dog that heard the forbidden word 'walk'. "Sorry, going tangent."
Weiss draped her arms over Ruby's neck and twirled at the end of her hair. She would kiss Ruby on the lips, but her breath didn't taste like fresh mint. The hard liquor from last night left a horrible aftertaste for the morning.
"Today is really important for my mother, and I don't want to make a first bad impression."
"Awww," Ruby pouted again. Weiss had played the family card, and Ruby knew better than anyone else that family was always top priority. "Want me to get a taxi for you?"
"I can get my own, but thank you." Weiss placed a chaste kiss on Ruby's cheek. "Put some clothes on before you catch a cold." Weiss then sauntered to the doorway in bare feet and picked up her heels along the way. "Oh, before I forget," she paused before reaching the door, "catch."
Weiss tossed a pair of thongs at Ruby who fumbled at the catch. It was one of her favorite lingerie — threaded in black with laced embroidery and supported by a crisscross strap.
Once Ruby unballed the item, she dangled the thong by a finger with her jaw almost to the floor. "Are you…" Ruby swallowed hard when she shuffled glances between it and Weiss. She could easily guess. Weiss was going commando today.
"Souvenir." Weiss winked at her. "You might get another one by the end of our first real date."
Ruby wrapped it around her wrist for safekeeping since she was still standing around in her birthday suit.
"Remember to call me," Weiss pitched her voice low and flirty. She swung her hips when she made her exit and shut the door behind her.
Ruby stood there hypnotized. She was already looking forward to calling Weiss tonight.
She wanted to see her soon.
Ruby jump-started her day with a shower after Weiss had left the hotel room. She had a matted layer of sweat and dirt on her skin, and sure enough, the smell of alcohol clinging onto her body overwhelmed the scent Weiss had left behind
After scrubbing herself well and toweling off, Ruby combed through her hair using her fingers until she looked somewhat socially presentable.
She casually threw on last night's clothes that reeked of alcohol and stuff the small souvenir Weiss had given earlier inside one of her pockets. She will have to remind herself to put it somewhere safe, somewhere her family will never find.
Checking out of the hotel, Ruby stopped by a knick knack shop stationed inside the lobby and grabbed a packet of gum. Her breath tasted nasty — from the liquor, not Weiss — and she figured chewing a stick of gum would help make it bearable.
By the time Ruby was out the entrance, she checked her phone. There were five missed calls and two unread text messages from Yang, two missed calls and a voicemail from her dad, and two hours since Weiss parted from her.
Ruby opened up the text message Yang had left her yesterday night and this morning.
"Yoo you okay? I couldn't find you at the bar, so I left without you. I figured you were getting laid or something. When are you coming back home?"
"Oh shit! You gotta come back home!"
Ruby skimmed the messages and replied to Yang with "later". She checked her voicemail next that her father had left some hours ago.
"Hey sweetie!" Came the scripted greeting that her dad left on voicemail. "I didn't see you come back home with Yang yesterday night. She said you'll be okay, and I trust that you'll make responsible choices. I'm sure there's nothing to worry about, but please do come home soon yeah? There's something I need to tell you. Yang already knows… Well… Now she does." He laughed nervously and trailed off into silence until Ruby could hear his throat being cleared on the other end. "It's kind of important news and I've been meaning to tell you guys together, but um I might have forgotten? Anyways, see you home!"
"I wonder what's so important…" Ruby muttered underneath her breath at the end of the voicemail. She shielded her eyes from the sun casting above the city after putting her phone away.
"Today is so beautiful," she let out a satisfying sigh. An image of Weiss came to mind when she absentmindedly stared into the sky.
The hues of blue in between the scattering clouds reminded her of those haunting blue eyes she couldn't get out of her head. Then Ruby decided.
With how beautiful today was, there wasn't exactly any rush to go back home. The important news could wait because her stomach couldn't. Considering she hadn't eaten any breakfast, she figured she could squeeze some brunch.
Riding on that decision, Ruby went to a nearby cafe that was within walkable distance and grabbed something to eat. She took a taxi back home once she filled her stomach.
The ride back home was entirely silent except for the few greetings exchanged in the beginning. The cab driver didn't seem interested in having a conversation, but Ruby didn't seem to mind at all. Her head was filled with thoughts such as the string of numbers and how she would hear Weiss' voice again later tonight.
As Ruby aimlessly stared out of the window daydreaming about Weiss, the driver turned on her street, squeezed by a passing moving-truck, and pulled over in front of her house.
Ruby thanked the driver and climbed the few steps of stairs leading to her front door. As she jiggled her keys into the lock, the door unlocked from the other side.
"Ruby!" Tai, her dad, charged at her with a rough hug once the door flew open. "You're finally home! And you smell like… Alcohol." He pulled away and scrunched his nose at the odor coming from his daughter.
"Hi dad," Ruby grinned sheepishly. "I kind of did go to the bars yesterday," she gave him an eye roll, "and might have gotten a little carried away."
Hands on his hip, Tai raised an eyebrow at her. "Uh huh… I've heard from Yang. Not sure if a little carried away is the right word to describe it."
Ruby shrunk underneath his gaze. "What did she tell you?"
He rubbed his stubbles on his chin, thinking. "You challenged her into a drinking contest, and you lost." He then shook his head afterwards. "I can't believe you tried to drink Yang under the table. You already know who she got that from."
"Eheheh…" Ruby scratched her head. Yang had half the blood of a Branwen which was enough to drink the bar empty. "Yeah… I don't think I'll ever do that again… What else did she tell you?"
"Other than drinking a lot and disappearing left and right, that's about it. She had a hard time keeping her eyes on you until she lost you. You're okay right? You found a place to stay, and no one hurt you or anything?"
"I'm okay. Just the memories of liquor burning down my throat. Blegh," Ruby stuck out her tongue. She purposely left out the part where Weiss had raked into her skin when she came undone. "I think I'm done with drinking for awhile. I don't understand how you two can do it."
"Practice," her dad shrugged, smiling. "That's what happens when you drink. Come on, let's get you inside. Are you hungry? There's some leftover food on the counter."
"Nah, I had a bite on my way here. What's this news that you wanted to tell me anyways?" Right when Ruby stepped into her house, there were boxes scattered at the edge of the living room. It was strange because they weren't there yesterday night before she left with Yang to the bar. "Hey dad, what are the boxes for?"
"Want to take a guess?" Tai asked his daughter enthusiastically.
"Err…" Ruby didn't put much thought into it. "We're moving?"
"No, I'm getting remarried!" He shouted with excitement.
The news sank in and Ruby had a dumb look on her face. "Come again…?"
"Isn't this great? Oh, I can't wait for you to meet her! I'm getting remarried! I can't believe I'm getting remarried!" He rambled on, his grin beaming so bright that it was blinding Ruby's eyes, figuratively. "They just moved in with us. She's somewhere in this house. Honey!" Tai scrambled frantically around the house. "Where are you? I want you to meet my other daughter!"
Mouth gaping wide open, Ruby felt the energy sucked out of her soul when she heard marriage come right out of her dad's mouth. Tai, a single father who had two wives — one who had left him and the other who passed away many years ago — had decided to get married for the third time.
Oh, Ruby was feeling dizzy. Everything was happening too suddenly and she couldn't wrap her head around the fact that her own father forgot to mention that he was seeing someone. Let alone get married and had them move in without consulting with her and Yang first. He sounded happy, and theoretically, Ruby should be happy for her dad.
"Ruby…" Tai tentatively said at first, but his voice started to inflate with joy. "I want you to meet Willow." He stepped into the living room holding an older woman's hand. "Willow, meet my youngest daughter, Ruby."
Ruby studied Willow skeptically. She was tall, but still several inches shorter than her dad. She had her pristine alabaster colored hair worn in a low ponytail over her shoulder. Willow gingerly smiled back at Ruby and held out her hand.
"Hi, Ruby. I'm Willow. Tai loves to talk about you a lot."
Ruby took the hand reluctantly and shook it.
"Hi Willow… It's finally nice to meet you." Ruby casted a very stern glance at her dad who smiled apologetically. The look in his eyes silently told her that he will make it up to her and Yang for not mentioning any of this. "You've met my sister Yang right? She should be somewhere in the house."
"Yes I have," Willow said warmly. "I believe Yang is helping my daughter settle in."
Ruby took a step back. Her head and her heart couldn't handle all these surprises in one day.
"Your daughter...?" Ruby inquired hesitantly.
"Oh that's right!" Tai snapped his fingers as if he had a duh moment. "Another new member to the family!"
"Huh?" Ruby blubbed dumbly.
"Tai, can you bring her in so they can introduce each other? She should have finished unpacking the boxes with Yang."
"Sure thing, Sweetie!" He kissed Willow on the cheek
It was the most awkward and unbearable ten seconds of Ruby's life when her dad scurried up the stairs. Ruby prepared herself to strike a random conversation with Willow, but her dad came back with her future step sister.
"Ruby," he said excitedly. "I want you to meet Weiss!"
Ruby felt her heart plunge at the name. The practiced smile she used for greetings fell into horror when Willow's daughter stepped into the living room. There, standing in front of her, was the drop dead gorgeous woman she had slept with and couldn't get out of her mind.
Weiss wore an off the shoulder T-shirt and thigh length shorts instead of her slim fitted dress she had this morning. Her wet hair was braided back, and she smelled fresh as if she had just came out of the shower.
The second they locked into each other's eyes, Weiss' face morphed into horror. They stared at each other blankly, and Ruby cried on the inside but gritted down a facade smile in front of their parents. She knew Weiss had recognized her too, and she could tell it killed Weiss on the inside.
Weiss extended a hand out in greeting and forced a smile.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Ruby. I'm Weiss. I'm happy to be a part of your family now."
