AN: Hello, this is my first Genshin fic and this will take place post-1.4 quest. This is also assumed that the Fallen Stars event has already been done. Lumine will also be the MC for this particular AU. This will be from different characters' perspectives, not just Lumine's. There will be OC's as well as a bit of a different canon. Welp let's get started. Teyvat is waiting for their hero.
Lumine was stunned by the events that just took place…. She went from following Paimon around this foreign land to flying in the sky and combating a raging dragon to finding out her brother was the leader of an evil cult. She decided she wanted to continue to help the people of Tevayt, realizing this could bring her closer to her brother. And right now, she decided she would clear her mind before the inevitable talk with Barbatos, also known as Venti the drunkard bard, about his possibly deplorable actions.
She was just about to leave the Knights of Favoinious headquarters before she heard Lisa calling her.
"Before you go, cutie...Come to my library. I may be able to provide you with a book that can give you some more understanding of Mondstat." The woman said mellowly, gesturing to them to follow with her gloved hand.
She sauntered into her library, leaving Lumine and Paimon to shake off their awe at the sheer size of the archive in front of them-that seemed to be growing every time they entered. Unlike every other time they entered, she called out an unfamiliar name.
"Anagi!" As Lumine and Paimon exchange a look, a tall boy with lavender purple hair and eyes pokes his head out from behind a nearby bookshelf, sighing as he begins to set down a stack of assorted books. Lisa barely gives him time to do that before she's pinching his cheek with a laugh,
"There you are, Nagi sweetie! I need your help. Could you be a dear and please go find me that Second Edition of the Mondstadt Travel Guide?"
"Mom, why on Teyvat, do you need that old thing for? And if I may be so bold, who are these two?" he grumbled, glaring at Lumine and Paimon. Though the effect was ruined by the fact that Lisa was still engrossed with pinching his face and muttering to herself about how cute he was.
Although Paimon certainly didn't appreciate the way that the boy had spoken to them (and Lumine too, they guess), they were more preoccupied with a much more important statement-
"Wait MOM?! Lisa, how old ar-"
In a flash, Nagi had his hand on the fairy's mouth and Lumine found herself clutching her sword in surprise. He was faster than she'd expected but if he were Lisa's… son, it wasn't like he'd mean any harm.
"If you don't want to end up on the menu as a sparkling well-done chicken platter… I' suggest not finishing that sentence."
Lumine looked to Lisa for confirmation, but the older woman simply laughed; her hand covering her mouth. The very pinnacle of innocence and it sent the ghost of chill down Lumine's spine.
"Ah, don't worry! It's a compliment, just means I am truly ageless," she stands up and Nagi immediately returns to her side.
"Nagi dear, this is the Traveller I was telling you about earlier."
Lumine and Paimon introduced themselves as Anagi waved them off with a much friendlier smile, "Anagi Menci, the library's one and only worker…"
"Because when you're the owner's son, it means they don't have to pay you," he leaned in towards the duo conspiratorially, not noticing Lisa's closed eye smile as she began to move her hand around lazily.
"I do still need that travel guide, sweetie" she observed, extending a purple rose aglow with magic and electricity towards him. Nagi quickly took the hint and disappeared into the archives.
"Um Lisa, you seem to know a lot. Do you happen to know where Venti is?"
Lumine stifled a sigh of relief as the air became comfortable once again and Lisa vanished the rose to be more comfortable while she began to ponder.
"Hmm, I do actually. He is usually at Diluc's bar singing for wine like an old tomcat. He is quite good if you ask me… But if you ask little Nagi, well." she shrugged, looking over to the boy who just came back with a medium sized book in his hand.
"I say he is a drunk pain in the ass."
As he hands Lumine the book with a smile to match her own, Lisa shot up, a mischievous twinkle in her eyes.
"I have the most perfect idea! Nagi sweetie, I have some things to attend to...Can you do your lovely mother a favor and show Lumine around Mondstat? You may find that you two could be quite useful to each other."
His shoulders drooped as he looked at her, defeat all but written on his face.
"Oh,perk up! I heard Fischl just got back from an expedition with Bennet so you two lovebirds can safeguard our Honorary Knight together!" She winked as Nagi eagerly agreed and walked Lumine out of the library and headed to the Adventurer's Guild.
"Paimon can tell that you and Lisa are close, it must be nice having such an informed parent at home." Paimon fished, floating around the boy curiously.
He chuckled, giving the fairy a onceover, "Before you ask no, she is not my mother by birth. She just looked after me."
Paimon scratched their head sheepishly, " It's ok, you didn't need to answer-"
They gasp, getting cut off as Lumine pops her companion in the back for being rude. Lumine never understood how Paimon knew so much about Teyvat but so little about its people.
"It's fine someone has to protect her "womanly charm" and if I don't do it, who will," he shrugs off the girl's silent apology easily. He makes a mental note to himself about their relationship and how content Lumine seems to be to let her headstrong companion do most of the talking on the way to meet Fischl and can't help but smile to himself about their similarities.
"The Prinzessin understands the mortal conundrum that plagues your mind. But fear not, for I, Fischl von Luftschloss Narfidort will wash away the sea of perils that cast doubt over this, the fair City of Wind."
Kathryne blinked helplessly, her polite smile frozen in place as she looked to Oz for help.
"What Mein Fraulein means is: if there is anything she can do, she is more than happy to help," Oz translated as usual.
As Oz finished, Anagi whistled, causing Fischl to startle for a moment before she caught herself and happily waved,
"Oh, My Consort of Darkness! How keen of you to come and greet your gracious ruler." she declares as they embraced passionately before he nodded for Lumine to come over.
"Fischl, this is the amazing traveller that Lisa was talking about-"
Lumine quietly interrupts him with a polite curtsy, mimicking Fischl's manner of speech,
"It's ok, we have met. Fischl, I didn't know that the great prinzessin had already acquired a loyal consort."
Fischl begins to respond the curtsy with her usual long-winded airs but Kathryn has had enough, clearing her throat meaningfully,
"Well, this seems to be the perfect solution to my problem! There is an urgent commission I need done soon but the Adventurer's Guild is busy dealing with the Abyss Mages in Wolvendom. There-"
Fischl huffed and put her hand over her covered eye dramatically, "Great Messenger of Mondstat, it may seem as though Fate has truly begun to shine down upon you! For the Great Prinzessin and her loyal Con-"
She stopped as Anagi lightly tapped her forehead causing her to cover it with her hands "Sorry A- I mean Fischl. But this seems to be quite important and I would hate to burden you any further with having to repeat information again as you are quite busy, right, My Prinzessin?"
He soothed, signaling to Kathryne to continue as Fischl nodded, putting back on her usual airs as he kissed her forehead better.
"There have been some strange activities in the Thousand Winds Temple. It's been mostly safe until recently. A large influx of monsters have begun to gather there… Even attracting a few Eyes of the Storm."
Lumine nodded as they accepted the mission, "So, we're playing cleanup crew... Well, that won't be too hard."
Nagi agreed, "Yep, should be quick. I'm sure it's just a few mitachurls."
When they arrived, however, it was much more than a few mitachurls.
They hide on Starsnatch Cliff, watching the temple below. What they had hoped would be a fast and easy clean up was in fact dozens of hillichurl camps, storm eyes and several abyss mages.
"It's just a few mitachurls." Lumine mocked as Nagi rolled his eyes.
"Oh, whatever. So I was off by a few. It's fine, aren't you our 'Honorary Knight'? This should be an easy workout."
As the girls rolled their eyes at him, Oz set off to get a closer look and Fischl began to concentrate on him for a moment.
"I see…" She hummed before turning back to the group.
"Those Dastardly Creatures of the Shadowed Well have populated Nature's Behemoths as well as these Churls of the Hill."
Paimon and Lumine blinked at her, helpless without their usual translator.
"She means that the abyss is behind it." Nagi interjected, the air of casualty a direct contrast to the shock on the Traveler's face.
"You understand her!?" Once again, Nagi can't help but note how comfortable Lumine is with letting Paimon speak for her.
"Of course, he does. As MY loyal consort, he is well versed in the speech of the Immernachtreich."
He patted her head with an affectionate chuckle.
"Basically, I know her very well. It's what comes with bei-"
He flinched as Fischl pinched him with a furious blush.
"Her loyal consort, do not dare question the Prinzessin again. Else lightning will smite you," he intoned robotically, ignoring as Fischl began to quietly punch him in the side.
"Well, it's hightime we get down to business. After all, the monsters won't clear themselves." he laughed, summoning his polearm swiftly.
It possessed two small sharp blades that were curved inward gracefully and a spearhead that jutted out embossed with a regal design colored in black and purple engravings that extended down the tall shaft.
Fischl stood, an almost feral grin spreading as she joined his side. Lumine nodded, turning her attention to their battlefield.
"Let's take out the eyes… After that, the body will be easy pickings."
