It was midnight. Yet, while everyone was sound asleep in their safe home, at an old mansion deep inside the wood, a young boy with three different hair colors was reading a book using the bright moonlight as replacement for candles he didn't have while his bedroom windows were wide opened despite the cold breezes. As he was about to move on, a shadow casted down on the pages. Along with it, a voice echoed in the air.

"Playmaker."

Upon hearing his name called, he lifted his head and turned to the window where a sapphire eyes incubus was. At that moment, he smiled brightly.

"Ryoken, you came!"

"I promised you, didn't I?" He winked. "Also, I brought you some food."

"Y-you shouldn't have. It isn't like I don't have any here."

"To me, those old moody, harden breads are hardly consider "food". I'm surprise you haven't even damage your tooth or upset your stomach eating them."

"I..."

"Here, have a bite." He held out a freshly baked cake in front of Playmaker's mouth. "I know you're hungry."

Compared to children his ages, Playmaker was much skinner. It wouldn't be surprise if someone started calling him "a walking skeleton". However, even with it right in front of him, the boy still hesitated.

"If you aren't going to eat, I'm not going to be your friend anymore."

For someone who had been locked up here all these years alone, Ryoken was the first one from the outside world that he met and became close to even if he wasn't human. Losing him would be the last thing Playmaker wanted, so opened his mouth, he took a big bite. At the moment, the whole thing just melted in his mouth. It was so delicious that his tears unconsciously started to fall. However, that wasn't what he cared right now.

"I-I ate, so you aren't going to..." Playmaker held Ryoken's hand tight.

"Don't worry." The incubus placed a kiss on his forehead. "I was just joking."

After that, Playmaker finished the cake. And for desert, Ryoken gave him an apple. It was really the best meal he had since his parents passed away.

As the old pendulum clock rang, the incubus said his goodbye to Playmaker and was about to leave when the boy grabbed his hand.

"Wait!"

"Is there something wrong?"

"My aunts won't be coming untill the day after tomorrow, so if it is possible...c-can you stay with me tonight?"

"Playmaker..."

"Sorry...I was being selfish." He gripped the blanket tight. "Of couse, you have better things to do than hanging around someone like me." Once again, his tears started to fall.

Gazing at him, Ryoken let out.

"I guess it can't be helped."

Next thing Playmaker knew, he was back laying on the bed with the incubus hugging him tight. Upon hearing his heartbeats, he blushed.

"R-Ryoken."

"It's late, so sleep, Playmaker." The incubus smiled. "We have a lot to do tomorrow."

"Mhm!" He smiled back.

And just like that, the two slowly dripped off to sleep.
