Description: this is an alternate universe where Miguel joins Myiagi Do karate instead of cobra kai (if this is the case the show might not even be called cobra kai as in my opinion I think it centred on Miguel joining cobra kai as he was like the main character and it usually focused on him as he had a lot of screen time so it might be called Myiagi Do or something I don't know, anyway on with the story).

Chapter 1

Miguel had just moved to Reseda with his mom and grandma but referred to her as Ya Ya. They moved because recently his mom broke up with her husband who was involved in a lot of bad stuff like gangs and drugs so they moved for a fresh start without him. School would start again in a few days and Miguel was going to west valley high school without knowing anyone, he never really fit in at school and barely made any friends so he was hoping for something better here. As a way to fix this his mom told him to go out and meet the neighbors and ask if they had problems with their water pressure as she believed this would help his social skills. Miguel, seeing that his mom was right went out and bumped into a scruffy, middle aged, blonde white man called Johnny.

"Hi, I'm Miguel," he said smiling "my family and I just moved into 109".

Johnny took a quick glance and it was obvious he wanted to ignore him but instead he just groaned "great more immigrants," he said sarcastically.

"Actually we're from riverside," Miguel said confused but continued on nevertheless "so anyway I was wondering if you were having trouble with your water pressure 'cause I know our sink is being a little weird," he said hoping Johnny would reply while noticing that a bag of bear bottles Johnny was carrying were about to be put the wrong bin, "OH! Bottles go in the blue bin," he said hastily. Johnny ignored that rule and turned to Miguel with frustration, "listen Manuedo," he mumbled "I've lived in this shit hole for over 10 years. The pipes don't work, the fountains full of piss, the only good thing about being here is that I don't have to talk to anybody so nice knowing you," he concluded and rushed off for work leaving Miguel alone. "Ok, we'll have a nice day." He said again hoping that Johnny would respond. No answer came.

Later that same day Miguel went to a local corner shop to get some medicine for his grandma. He awkwardly bumped into Johnny again but Johnny again quickly left him after being fired from his job and found Miguel to be an annoying pest and whizzed off in his car to reminisce about the good old days when he was with his mates from the karate dojo he went to and his ex girlfriend who he had never quite gotten over after all this time and quickly started dating his karate rival named Daniel LaRusso which made things even worse. Daniel on the other hand had a great life, he owned a car dealership with his beautiful wife Amanda and had 2 kids, the eldest was a girl named Samantha who was the same age as Miguel, who is 16 and a 10 year old son named Anthony. If Daniel had arrived at the corner shop a second before he might've noticed Johnny but he was too far gone now. Daniel went to the shop as he was in the neighbourhood and grew up here when he was also 16, which was 34 years ago. It was nice to be back in the town that defined him most as a child, he thought as he hadn't been here in a while and it would be nice to take a trip down memory lane but at the same time wanted to pick up some groceries there as well so he entered the shop and noticed Miguel, they acknowledged each other for a second and Daniel briefly smiled at him. Maybe not everyone is as cruel as his neighbor, Miguel thought and smiled back but not straight away as he continued browsing the shelves. Daniel exited the shop and was about to enter his car when he noticed 4 guys leaving a van that looked more or less the same age as Miguel. However these kids didn't look as pleasant as Miguel as one was vaping and another talked about getting condoms. That guy had a dark complexion and very short hair, the guy vaping had ginger hair and was the second tallest next to what seemed like the authority figure in the group, who was Asian with spiky hair and finally, his right hand man was stocky with curly blonde hair and they went into the shop together. Daniel sensed that something bad was about to happen and he was absolutely right. The Asian guy pushed Miguel out the door out complained about not getting served as supposedly Miguel had grassed them up for not being old enough to buy beer. Miguel tried to apologise but was pushed again, this time harder as he fell to the ground with or four members closing in on him like a pack of wolves. The Asian guy picked up the medicine that Miguel had bought for his grandma. "Oh shit, someone has fricking diarrhoea," he said laughing as the others joined in.

"We should call him 'Rhea'," the blonde one said as they continued to torment him

"Give it back dude," Miguel said annoyed to the Asian guy, "It's for my grandma," he said hoping his bullies would cut him some slack.

"Oh it's for your grandma?" The Asian guy teased, "you can have it back now," he said smugly as he poured it over Miguel as the others groaned at all the liquid that had been ruined but laughed at Miguel making him feel like a loser.

"Bitch," the Asian guy would snarl and walk off but not too far as he heard Miguel mutter "asshole" under his breath. The others would say "oooohhhh," as they would see this as challenging their leader would started as a mockery would quickly escalate into a fight.

"What did you say 'Rhea?!" The Asian guy demanded.

"I-I didn't say anything" Miguel stuttered and then without having anytime to react took a fist to the stomach as he dropped down to the ground and was about to take another strike but that was stopped with a loud shout. "Hey!" Daniel shouted feeling guilty that he had waited until this moment to interrupt but was so shocked that all he could do was stand and watch.

"Leave the kid alone!" Daniel demanded.

"Daniel LaRusso?!" The ginger guy scoffed, "haven't you got some more customers to annoy, no wonder Tom Cole is beating you,"

"Actually it's the other way around you numbskull," Daniel spat back narrowing his eyes at the 4 bullies

"Get the hell out of here man," The Asian guy said pushing Daniel back a few steps

"I'll tell you one more time nicely, get out of here before things get worse," Daniel said calmly remembering what his old karate sensei had taught him. The Asian guy would go to push Daniel again but this time Daniel was ready and caught his arms with his own and slammed them into the Asians guy chest as he leaned forward quick pain as this time it was him pushed to the floor. Now the three remaining bullies, who were acting tough to start off with were quickly startled and rushed to attack Daniel but he saw it coming and dodged the blonde guys punch and blocked the ginger haired one and flung him to the floor and punched him in the chest to knock the wind out of him. Now he only had 2 others to worry about but he had to do something quick. The coloured boy had come at him swinging wildly as Daniel was dodging and blocking with ease and saw the blonde hair guy coming at him who had been stopped by a powerful kick, now recovered was picking up the pacing charging at Daniel like a bull. Daniel had to act fast so he pushed the coloured boy away and kicked the blonde haired guy in the stomach then performed a devastating roundhouse kick, wiping out the boy. By this time the fight had gone from the parking lot to the side of a building and all that was left was the coloured boy who now panicked, ran at Daniel but Daniel was clever and the boy was dumb and naive and Daniel moved to the side and tripped his opponent up as he collided with the wall and collapsed down hard to the concrete ground. But the fight wasn't other yet the Asian boy had a ton of time to recover and strike when Daniel was busy fighting his friends but he wasn't quick enough as The Asian boy was about to charge at Daniel, he lifted his arms and his right leg up beckoning his opponent to bring the fight to him, the Asian boy had a devilish look on his faced as he rushed wildly toward Daniel but was left with a foot to the face as he toppled to the ground defeated along with his friends as Daniel stood tall.

"That was incredible," Miguel was able to muster as he was so mesmerised by his saviours skills that he was too shocked to do anything else, "how did you do that?!"

"Ha thanks kid, it's a very special form of karate taught to me the best man I've ever known," Daniel answers smiling but disappointed that it ended in violence. There was a quick moment of silence before Miguel worked up the courage to say "can you please teach me?"

"I don't know kid I don't do karate anymore-" Daniel tried to convince Miguel that it was out of the question.

"But when school starts those guys are gonna make my life miserable, if I just knew a a little bit of what you knew then I could defend myself against jerks like them."

Daniel seeing that this kid had good intentions would think for a minute a finally let out a sigh "alright kid, you've won me over. Do you know where my dealership is?" Miguel nodded quickly.

"Good I want you to meet me there tomorrow morning bright and early at 6 'O'clock but remember this lesson. This is one of the most important teachings, karate is for defence only, it's in here," Daniel said pointing to his head, then his heart "and here, but never here," as he pointed to his stomach, "do you understand?" He asked softly.

Miguel was lost at first but eventually nodded slowly trying to take his first lesson in "yeah... I understand," he said at last.

"So, are you going to be my karate teacher?" He asked hopefully

"No," Daniel smiled, "I'm going to be your sensei."

Well that's the first chapter done sorry if it's too much like the actual season but I promise it will change drastically as the season goes on. I've done this fanfic as I've often wondered what it might be like if Miguel joined Myiagi Do and not Cobra Kai and also Miguel is my favourite character. I'm not sure if there's gonna be a tournament in this first season as I think it should be based on Miguel finally beating the bullies and I don't think they'd take karate and join cobra kai when that finally opens I just don't think they care about it.
