Kyoleth's Codex: Entry 1, The Uzumaki clan
The Uzumaki clan is one of the most powerful clans to exist in the Elemental Nations. Even after the destruction of Uzushiogakure, the Uzumaki clan members should not be underestimated. The Uzumaki clan is known for their red hair, their extreme amounts of life force, their large chakra reserves, and their talent for Fuinjutsu. Mosty believe that this talent for Fuinjutsu is the clan's Kekkei Genkai. But they are in fact wrong. The clan's true Kekkei Genkai is actually a seal embedded into the Uzumaki clan's very blood. This seal is known simply as Adaptation.
Adaptation is what makes the Uzumaki clan so versatile. Not only are they able to train longer and grow quicker than any other clan on the planet. But they heal faster and become better equipped to deal with whatever has injured them, as their body learns how exactly to heal said attack. Adaptation true power only comes to light, when an Uzumaki clan member marries someone with another Kekkei Genkai. The children between this marriage will awaken a mutated and in some cases improved version of the non-Uzumaki parent's Kekkei Genkai.
Examples of this include the Adamantine Sealing Chains, the Mind's Eye of the Kagura, and the Animal Connection Pheromones. These abilities all came from people who married into the Uzumaki clan.
It is believed that Adaptation was created by the founder of the Uzumaki clan. One of the most unique features of the Adaptation seal is that it stores the unique bloodlines inside itself. Making it impossible for them to die out, even if the branch of the clan that created it have passed on. There are eight different Kekkei Genkai stored in the Adaptation seal. While Naruto hasn't awakened his Kekkei Genkai yet, he is guaranteed to awaken one before he turns eighteen. The fact he hasn't awakened his Kekkei Genkai yet, just means that it will be an extremely powerful one. As a rule for the Adaptation Seal, the more powerful Kekkei Genkai the later it awakens. The only exception to this rule are the Adamantine Sealing Chains, which tend to awaken early. It is also possible for a Uzumaki to be born with multiple Kekkei Genkai, but it is extremely rare.

The Adamantine Sealing Chains came from a man who fled from Sunagakure who had the Magnetic release Kekkei Genkai. This mutated in his daughter to become the Adamantine Sealing Chains. One of the three strongest Kekkei Genkai in the seal. It is oddly enough one of the earliest awakening Kekkei Genkai. Kushina Uzumaki used this ability to great effect, and if she had survived the day of her son's birth, she easily would have become the best user of the Kekkei Genkai in Uzumaki clan history. Her Epithet of "The Red Death" was quite fitting.
The Mind's Eye of the Kagura came from a young woman from a clan that is now sadly gone, but her clan was known for the fact they could sense chakra signatures of those around them. No forms of camouflage could hide these signatures. Her son awakened the mutated version of her Kekkei Genkai that became known as the Mind's Eye of the Kagura. It has improved chakra sensing capability and it also allows the user to sense what kind of person someone is, and even tell if they are lying, all by how their chakra feels. The most well known user of this was the man who first awakened it, Sora Uzumaki. This man used this ability to great effect paired with his extremely high intelligence (On par with a Nara) and trap Fuinjutsu. He was so skilled that he seemed to play with his opponents. Thus he earned the Epithet "The Gamemaster".
The Animal Connection Pheromones came from a man from the Inuzuka clan that married a young woman from the Uzumaki clan. The Inuzuka's unique ability to understand dog's and bond with them changed into the Animal Connection Pheromones when passed onto their daughter, which makes all animals naturally want to be friendly to the user. That daughter Ruby, went on to tame ten various useful animals, and became known as the "Bloody Tamer".
The Typhoon Release came about when a young woman with the Storm Release Kekkei Genkai married into the Uzumaki clan. It mutated in a rather unpredictable way. It now takes the form of an extremely powerful wind chakra nature, allowing the user to control the weather. It is one of the three strongest Kekkei Genkai inside the Adaptation Seal. The daughter who was born to this woman and was the first wielder of Typhoon Release was known as Fuko. She became so skilled in controlling the wind and weather, that she could actually fly. She would eventually become known by the Epithet "Divine Guardian of Wind".
The Healing Chakra came about from a young man from the Senju clan that married into the Uzumaki clan. While the Senju clan doesn't have quite as much life force as it's cousin clan, they are still known to survive rather heavy wounds. This Kekkei Genkai grants the user an incredible talent with medical ninjutsu. Not to mention the fact their chakra has healing properties. If a wounded person bites them, they can be healed almost completely. This ability is a double edged sword as the bite marks never leave the user's body and it is possible to be drained of all their chakra. The daughter of the former Senju clan member became a well known medic. Her name was Uzume, and was known as the Uzumaki clan's Angel.
The Bloodlust, a rather unique and rare Kekkei Genkai that came about from a young man with the Ketsuryugan marrying into the clan. The bloodlust has had the fewest amount of wielders. Bloodlust allows the user to grow stronger, the more pain they inflict on their enemies. This boost lasts until the user goes to sleep. It has the side effect of making the user extremely sadistic during battle. The most well known user of said Kekkei Genkai was Karma Uzumaki. Karma once slaughtered a hundred enemy shinobi and samurai during one battle. It was said by the end of the battle he was soaked from head to toe in blood, none of it his own. This battle gave him the Epithet "Bloody Demon".
The Crystal Release is the only Kekkei genkai that it's parent Kekkei Genkai is unknown. The mother of the child who first inherited Crystal release, was a kunoichi who was captured by Iwa shinobi and raped. She was rescued, but learned she was pregnant. She decided to keep the child as she couldn't bring herself to condemn the child. The child that was born was a girl who would later be named Mia.
The Avatar is the rarest, strongest, and most mysterious of all the Kekkei Genkai that can appear for the Uzumaki clan. The Avatar is not a mutated Kekkei Genkai, as the very first person to be born with it (Shanks Uzumaki) was born between two parents of the Uzumaki clan. It is believed that Avatar is a glitch in the seal. Avatar is without a doubt the most powerful of the Uzumaki clan's Kekkei Genkai. Only two have awakened Avatar, they are Shanks Uzumaki, and Axel Uzumaki. What Avatar does is allow the user to manifest something, into reality. What can be manifested is unique for each user and grants the user a unique ability. Shanks' Avatar took the form of a large lion headed warrior that would appear behind him. When manifested, those who were too weak to be of notice were knocked out. While those that were worthy of him facing, would feel as if a constant weight was on their bodies. Axel's Avatar took the form of two large red and silver chakrams. These granted him the power to summon fire, control all forms of fire, and absolute immunity to being burned by fire, all without the use of a hand sign. Both of these individuals were SS-rank individuals. Shanks has been recorded as having defeated both Madara and Harishima in combat (Combat spar) at some point in his life.
Another aspect of the Adaptation seal is the fact it's impossible for the Uzumaki clan to die out as long as even a drop of blood exists. No matter how far down the line they get, a child can never get further than half Uzumaki. This means Naruto and Hinata's children will be half Uzumaki, a fourth Hyuga, and a fourth Namikaze (Although it wasn't a clan it still counts). The Uzumaki clan genetics are just that powerful.
