Chapter 1

It's been a few years since Princess Sofia of Enchancia defeated Vor on her graduation day and became a protector of the EverRealm. There's not a day where she doesn't think about what occurred on that special, yet terrifying day. After those events, Sofia finished being Story Keeper of the Secret Library, mainly due to her completing her final story: "The Tale of Princess Sofia". Since then, her amulet didn't summon her to the Secret Library. She still visits the Library from time to time to reminisce about the adventures she had. Sofia was also a student at EverRealm Academy, which she had already graduated from when she was 16. When Amber ascends to the throne on her 21st birthday, Sofia will gladly become her Royal Advisor. But now that Sofia's 17 years old, some changes are going to come her way.

Sofia's personality hasn't changed much at all. Her kindness and pure heart are still there, as well as her determination and cleverness. She's always willing to help anyone, never giving up doing so. Sofia also still loves to wear the color lavender, but she occasionally wears other colors as well. She also grew taller. She's a few inches shorter than her mother and a couple inches shorter than Amber. Sofia also still has her rosy cheeks and has an hourglass figure with curves in the right places. Many princes fall for her, but she didn't really care for most of them. She knew who she liked.

It was a beautiful morning with the sun shining bright with no clouds in the sky. Sofia was sleeping in her bed when her animal friends came into her room and decided to wake her up. They're much older now, so she makes sure that they don't overdo themselves by helping her. She's always so grateful to have met them.

Clover hopped on Sofia's bed and said "Wake up, princess!"

With that, Sofia woke up. "Good morning, Clover." She said happily. Her bird friends, Mia and Robin, were getting her gown ready.

"How'd you sleep?" He asked.

"I slept well. I had the most Aa-mazing dream about-." Sofia was cut off by both Mia and Robin who flew to her and said, "We picked your dress, Sofia!" "I guess I'll tell you about my dream later, Clover." She said as she went to where her bird friends left her dress, on top of the foldable changing divider.

Sofia put on the formal, yet simple gown that Robin and Mia picked out for her. It was a satin lavender gown with a sweetheart neckline that has iridescent crystals on the outline of the neckline. Both birds helped with the corset because it's difficult for oneself to do it alone. Afterwards, Baileywick knocked on Sofia's door. Sofia assumed that it was him because he's usually the first person to knock on her door each morning, since he is the castle steward. With that, she quickly hid her friends under her bed because the first time her friends were helping her when she first arrived at the castle, Baileywick shooed them away. She was nervous that he'll do it again.

"Who is it?" Sofia asked, even though she already knew who it was.

"It's Baileywick." He said.

"Come in." She said and he came into the room.

"Good morning Princess Sofia, I came to inform you that breakfast will be ready in 30 minutes." He said.

"Thanks Baileywick!" She said as he bowed respectfully, then left her room.

Sofia then turned to her animal friends. "Okay guys, I'll be going to the bathroom to finish getting ready. You're welcome to stay here as always." She said.

"Actually Sofia, we'll be outside. It's such a nice day out." Robin said.

"Oh and can you bring us some food when you're done with breakfast, princess?" A hopeful Clover asked. Mia and Robin just rolled their eyes at him because knowing Clover, his first few thoughts of the day are food related.

"Oh Clover, of course!. I'll see you guys later." She said as they went off.

Sofia went to her bathroom to do her hair and makeup. Sofia's wavy, auburn brown hair had grown longer, going halfway down her back. She decided to do a high, leaving her side bangs and some baby hair out to frame her face. Next she did her makeup. Sofia was always a natural beauty and she had gotten even more beautiful as she got older. She always liked keeping her makeup simple, since she feels like it represents a part of who she is. She put on some lavender colored eyeshadow, filled in her eyebrows, and put some lip gloss on. After looking in the mirror for the final time, she went out to get a tiara from her closet. She chose a silver tiara with 3 big lavender colored jewels on it. It matched her dress perfectly. Sofia looked at the clock and noticed that she had 20 minutes to spare until breakfast. She decided to go to Amber's room.

Sofia went out into the hallway and bumped into James. "Good morning, James!" she said, smiling at him.

"Morning, Sof. You look really pretty today." He said, smiling back. James was blown away on how she looked.

Sofia blushed at his comment. "O-oh t-thank you, James." She stuttered, looking away from him.

"So, where are you off to?" She asked.

"I'm going to take a stroll in the garden before breakfast. Want to come?" He asked, hoping she'd say yes.

"I would, but I'm on my way to Amber's room actually." Sofia said. She wanted to go with James but she thought that Amber might go looking for her, to help her choose a gown since she always picks a few dresses but can't decide.

James was a little disappointed but understood. "Ok. See you later, Sof!" He said as he left for the garden.

Little did Sofia know, James has a small crush on her. He was really confused about his feelings at first, trying not to believe that it was true. He realized that he doesn't feel the same way about Amber as he does with Sofia. He wasn't sure if she liked him back. James always believed that Sofia only sees him as a "brother" and nothing more than that. He promised himself that he'd protect her and wouldn't forgive himself if something happens to her. What he didn't know was that she actually has a small crush on him as well. Sofia always thought James was handsome. He didn't change that much from when he was younger. He still has his blonde hair parted in the middle, with his hair slightly longer than when he was younger. His face didn't change much but you can tell that he's not much older than 19. James still acts like a little kid sometimes but he's still very kind and funny. He's not as mature as Amber or Sofia, but he's getting there. Sofia's glad that he kept his dream of being Amber's first knight. Even after graduating from Chivalry Hall, he still likes to practice and do some training to keep in shape. With that, he grew muscular and strong. James and Sofia were always close, ever since they practiced for and won the Flying Derby try out race at Royal Prep. Sofia thought that James being protective of her was cute but she did find it annoying at times, especially when other princes that she liked came to the castle. Sofia was also confused about having feelings for James. She first kept denying it and thought that it was wrong because he was her "brother". Sofia knows that they aren't blood related but he always felt like a real brother to her, until she started liking him more than that. But even before she realized that she started having feelings for James, she liked two other princes: Desmond and Hugo. Sofia actually still likes them and hasn't seen them in awhile, but she always kept in contact with them by writing letters to them. Although she likes James, she never told anyone about her feelings for him, not even Amber. Sofia wanted to keep it a secret, for now at least.

After James left, Sofia walked to Amber's room. Amber didn't change much either. She can still be a little snobby and selfish at times, but she did grow mature. Amber is still as beautiful as she was when she was younger and she still thinks "bigger is better". Her blonde hair grew longer, all the way down to her waist. She also has an hourglass figure. She's both a couple inches taller than Sofia, but a couple inches shorter than James. After graduating from EverRealm Academy, she's almost always with her father, King Roland. Since Amber is the next heir to Enchancia's throne, he's teaching her how to be a great queen. She has to know about who Enchancia's allies are, what royal affairs the kingdom takes on, and much more.

Sofia arrived and knocked on the door. "Enter." Amber said.

Amber was sitting at her vanity brushing her hair, deciding to leave it down. She already did her makeup, which was definitely not as simple as Sofia's. Amber always loves to wear makeup.

She looked in the mirror and saw Sofia standing behind her. "Oh Sofia, I'm glad you're here! What dress do you think I should wear today?" Amber said as she walked over to her bed.

There were 3 dresses. One was a beautiful shimmery chartreuse green gown with silver lace on the bottom of the gown, the other was a dark blue gown with white lacy flowers that were all around the skirt, and the last one was a beautiful bright orange gown with rhinestones all around the dress.

"Hmm… I think the shimmery green dress looks Aa-mazing! I'd choose that one." Sofia said.

"I agree, It looks so pretty! Thanks Sofia. Axel's taking me on a date today and I definitely want to look good for it, since we haven't seen each other in a while. He said he has something important to tell me." Amber said excitedly. She's currently dating Prince Axel, Hugo's older brother and heir to the throne of the Kingdom of Oxford. What Amber doesn't know is that Axel wants to end their relationship. He felt like things haven't really been working out between the two of them and his feelings for Amber were fading.

Sofia just smiled at Amber. "Maybe he'll propose to you?" She said.

"If he does, I'd be the luckiest princess in the world! But I wonder who's going to rule where. I wonder if he'll move here and help me rule Enchancia or if I'd have to move there and be his queen in Oxford." Amber said while changing into her gown in behind her foldable closet divider.

"Who knows, Amber. I mean, either James or I can rule Enchancia or Hugo could rule Oxford. But whatever the case, it could still work out in the end." Said Sofia.

"You're right. Oh, can you help me with the corset, Sofia?" Amber said as she came out of the closet divider.

"Of course, Amber." Sofia said. When she was done, she stepped backed and looked at Amber.

"Oh Amber, that dress really brings out the color of your eyes! Axel will be amazed by what he'll see." Sofia squealed as Amber spun in a circle.

"You think so?" Amber asked.

"I know so." Sofia smiled.

Amber looked at the clock and saw that it was almost time for breakfast. She turned to Sofia and said, "We should head to breakfast now, it's almost time for it to start."

Sofia nodded and they went downstairs.
