This is a story I have been wanting to write for a long time but I think it represents how miserable I've been these last few months. I love writing my what If stories and I know my readers enjoy them too. This is part of a new What If prompt, detailing events that may have occurred if the Villains won. Keep your eyes peeled for more as I've already planned a further two. Warning, if it wasn't already in the summary, this story is sad and contains an execution. If you don't like these kinds of fanfictions please don't read any further down after this part. I don't want reviews saying there wasn't a warning. This may turn into a multi-chapter. Please FOL/FAV/REV.

The cold steel cuffs created a chilling reminder of the dreadful hand they had been dealt.
Tintin still couldn't figure out why they had failed. For Tintin, it was more than that. As he lay on the hard bed guilt swept through him like a gust of wind. He'd promised Alcazar than the plan he'd envisioned would work.
Tapioca's men knew exactly where to hit them.
Tapioca had to have known their plan right down to the last detail. He could only conclude that someone had betrayed them. Now their fates remained uncertain, remaining solely in the hands of General Tapioca and Colonel Sponz. The very thought made him squirm.
He had no idea where the Captain was being held and Snowy was still at the camp with Professor Calculus and the Jolly Follies.
He'd been on his own in the cell for hours. His heart was beating so fast that he could hear it in his ears.
He'd failed.
Guilt invaded his mind as time passed. As his eye's filled with tears gunshots echoed throughout the courtyard.
"No"
Tintin sprang onto his feet and rushed to the window. He couldn't see anything but the gunshots echoed throughout the courtyard. I've failed them, I've failed everyone. They're dead because of me. Falling onto his knees his heart shattered into a million pieces. Everything he loved could be ripped from him at any moment. That thought terrified him the most.
He feared for the Captain's wellbeing but the fate of Alcazar was cemented. There was only one ending for the rebel leader.
As one execution ended another began.
Away from prying eyes and beyond whispers Alcazar's men were given one last chance to join the ranks of Tapioca's soldiers. Their answer was resolute.
No.
Sponz walked up and down exhaling the grey smoke clouds into the air in frustration.
"What a waste" Sponz muttered, allowing his cigarette end to fall to the ground, pressing it into the ground with his boot to stub it out. Once he was certain he had decimated the charred remains he strode to his men.
All he had to do was nod.
Within moments the yard filled with gunshots. The noise continued to echo even after the guns silenced. Salty tears slipped across Tintin's cheeks. He couldn't stomach the horror of the events of the past few hours. Two guards entered his cell then a third entered pulling him onto his feet. His resistance disappeared as he obeyed the demands, following them down the corridor in silence. As another door opened Tintin was pushed into the courtyard.
Dark clouds were descending upon the city threatening the entire area with an imminent downpour. Thunder rumbled ominously in the distance, gathering pace as it barrelled towards the capital. The humidity swept across his perspiring skin. Holding in a gulp he desperately tried to stop himself from shaking.
Am I going to die?
Blood was still clinging to the wooden poles. The image only conjured up the memory of the gunshots. He was immersed in his thoughts even the guards pushed the Captain beside him.
He didn't dare speak to the Captain for fear of another sharp punch. Hed' taken more than his fair share of punches in the last few hours. Barely moments after their initial arrest Sponz had immediately taken advantage punching him straight in the face. The skin surrounding his eye still ached, irritating him every time he opened and closed his eye.
A second door slammed open, banging hard against the wall as Alcazar was led out.
Tintin moved to intercept but was instantly blocked and shoved back next to the Captain. With a gun at his head, he remained subservient but his eyes remained solely fixed on Alcazar.
Sponz, Tapioca and Alverez followed through the door with another soldier.
Alcazar fell onto his knees keeping his eyes to the ground.
Tintin glanced up momentarily, catching a smirk on Sponz's face as the other soldier loaded a gun. As his erratic heart rate returned the urge to collapse onto the ground, increased even further.
This was an execution.
Tears slipped from Tintin's cheeks as Alcazar raised his head to meet his gaze.
Even if he was able to speak, Tintin couldn't find the words. Nothing seemed good enough.
"This is all my fault" Tintin whispered.
Alcazar gently shook his head, never averting his gaze from Tintin. Alcazar couldn't control his breathing. Fear overtook him, manifesting through his heaving chest and trembling hands.
The soldier paced over to Alcazar raising the gun to the back of his head.
Alcazar inhaled sharply.
He pulled the trigger.
Tintin's screams filled the courtyard, overpowering the gunshot. The Captain froze unable to absorb what he had just witnessed. Every single one of Tintin's worst fears had suddenly become very real.
Alcazar was dead.
All hope was gone.
Tintin slowly raised his head attempting to steady himself as his stomach violently spasmed in his chest, threatening to extricate what remained. Alcazar's hair moved gently in the wind across his face, flickering over his open eyes which were staring into nothing.
No hope.
No next step.
Tintin looked up to find Sponz staring at him with a smug smile upon his lips.
"You've come to the end, Mr Tintin. You're mine now" Sponz growled, wrapping his hand around Tintin's neck.
"Don't touch him!" The Captain exclaimed, managing to divert Sponz's attention.
Tintin panicked, praying Sponz wouldn't unleash his anger on the Captain.
Without a second thought, Sponz let go of Tintin and slapped the Captain hard with the back of his hand. His attention quickly returned to Tintin.
"So defiant," Sponz tutted. "No amount of begging will save you now"
Thanks for reading, sorry it's so bleak. More coming soon.
