Chapter 1: The Fashion Fest Sleepover

One mild third Saturday of March 2020, I met up with my childhood friends Sarah, James, and Henri as well as some of my other best friends Alex Russo, Justin Evans, Max Greenwald, Carly Shay, and her parents, Sam and Freddie, at the Pittsburgh's Perfect Parties office in Monroeville for a meeting and a game and craft day. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. After we ate a fried chicken meal for dinner, we headed over to client Riley Benson's house in Monroeville for her Fashion Fest Sleepover. The employees did a fashion show to the music of Santana. The room was decorated with a red fabric for a red carpet runway, brightly colored and animal print tablecloths and other party supplies, the music of Santana and NSYNC, and Riley's very own fashion magazine. We began the party with the Name the Era game, which Henri helped out with. Sadie ended up having the most correct guesses in the game, so she won. Then, it was snack time. Henri and Mr. Benson helped serve the Fashion Cookies, James and Mrs. Shay helped serve the Paparazzi Pizza, and Sarah and Carly helped serve the Pink Pizzazz Popcorn. "It's too bad that I can't eat any of that delicious food, Mr. Benson," Henri stated. "Especially the cookies!" "I know how you feel, Henri," Mr. Benson agreed. "I feel like I deserve a cookie, too, especially since I helped make them." After snacks, we played more games, including the Fashion Magazine Scavenger Hunt supervised by Sarah and the Fashion Pictionary game supervised by James. "We played this game on Thursday when I met the Moser-Pearson family," Riley told James. "That's cool," James remarked. "James, did I tell you that Freddie and I are going to be moving to another apartment in Squirrel Hill?" Mrs. Shay asked. "No, Mrs. Shay," James remarked. "You can't leave. Who am I going to have as a female friend to talk to?" "I'm sure that you will find somebody," Mrs. Shay pointed out. "Will it be a long-lasting relationship or rather short-lived, like I had with Phillis my freshman year of high school," James stated. "I don't know," Mrs. Shay agreed. "You will just have to wait and see." Then, we moved on to activities, such as creating outfits for Barbie doll models supervised by Mr. Benson, making handmade jewelry supervised by Mrs. Shay, and fashion makeovers supervised by Carly. "I can't wait until we eventually move into the new condominium with Angel, Sarah," Carly stated. "Do you think that we will get to do makeovers every night?" "We probably will, Carly," Sarah replied. "If you girls were wondering on a moving date, the day is April 15," I told Sarah and Carly. "Wow, that is a day after my birthday!" Carly exclaimed. "And, I am so glad that I got to help out with makeovers today. It was a slumber party activity that I have enjoyed doing since my freshman year of high school around Thanksgiving time." "I am so glad," Sarah remarked. Around midnight, we returned to Sarah, James, and Henri's apartment in Monroeville and headed to bed for the evening. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
