Quick backstory on why I'm spending my quarantine doing this. A phew years ago I attempted to write something similar to , and for the lol's /out of boredom decided to read the comments...can i just say that was wayyyyyy harsh for a 12 year old's attempt at writing. Either way, here's my new and...improved...hopefully ,attempt at season 3 of Gravity Falls. I have 0 ideas and am just here to...idk avenge my younger self i guess? Anyways enjoy.

Summer was a sweet memory for the Pines twins. It was maddening to think a phew years ago they were fighting off a flying triangle in order to save the human race from horrific , yet slightly amusing torture. Still , nothing compared to the tortures of high school. It'll be the "time of your lives" and you'll "wish you made the most of it whilst you had the chance". Right. Dipper feared that he'd already peaked whilst solving mysteries and now he was condemned to just exist from now until eternity. Was he doing well in school, yes , but that meant nothing if nothing that he wanted would come from it.

Still, he found some amusement in the parallels he made between the students and the monsters he fought.

At least he had Mable.

Mable found adjusting to reality much more difficult than her brother. Yes, his eye twitched at the thought of spending eternity in a Mundane job but nobody tortured him for it. In gravity falls she could dance out of arguments with her rival, but here teenagers were and still are much, much harsher. She found herself in a routine, 8 am sprint to locker , 8:10 hide in bathroom until first period, first period get caught and by break her own personal hell had formed in the shape of her peers.

One afternoon she had had enough. Usually she would chat with Dipper the entire bus ride home, making jokes and assuring him that gravity falls will still exist by the time next summer rolls around, but today there was nothing. She just sat there , staring out the window waiting for night to pass and for the clock to reset, continuing her personal hell.

Dipper was immediately aware in her change of character. He looked at her for a moment, and sighed. He had no idea how to console or help her. All he could do was smile and say "Gravity Falls will still exist by the time next summer rolls around".

She didn't react for a moment. Slowly , she turned her head to look at him and said " Yea" with a soft, but obviously forced smile.

This was the longest bus ride Dipper had ever experienced. Today he got to re-live his past and hatch a plan, not to catch a monster or save Soos , but to help his sister. As soon as they reached their doorstep Dipper sprinted to his room, slamming that door behind him.

He knew what was at stake, his sisters flare , and he knew he had to save it. How? The world is a harsh place that crushes individuality. As a sixteen year old he couldn't change society over night? Right? Pacing his room he let his ideas flow. What could be done? Could anything be done ? His eyes were crawling over the grey walls causing Dipper to stop in his tracks. They were so grey, dull , there was no character. And then it hit him. Maybe he could change the society they were in.

His eyes darted to the corner of the room where his desk stood. Heaps of paper stood tall, in an unorganised mess. He began riffling through the organised mess before finding a plain red file. He slowly opened it and pulled out a slip of paper.

Dipper , I know the next phew years will be gruelling, however I implore you , only dial this number in the case of a level 1 emergency - +1-200-555-7852

-F

He sighed a sigh of relief as a small smile spread across his face. He remembered his great uncle handing him that note before they left gravity falls, of course he had said that both he and Mabel were more than welcome to get in contact whenever they pleased, but Ford being Ford wanted a plan in case the anything followed them from gravity falls. Dipper remembered everything about his last day in Gravity falls , including Fords serious tone and wrinkled forehead.

No, this wasn't anything out of the ordinary , but it was Mabel. Who would she be without her quirkiness. She wore only plain jumpers now, and if that wasn't considered out of the ordinary he didn't know what was.

He took a deep breath and reassured himself that he was doing the right thing before slowly pulling his phone from his pocket. He hesitated , but then continued to dial the number.

It wrung.

A phew hours had passed , Mabel and Dipper had just been called down for food. Usually Mabel would run out of her room as if trying to escape the horrors of algebra, but today it was as if she couldn't find the energy to even walk out of her room. Dipper had noticed he had reached the stairs before Mable so slowly he turned around and walker towards her door. There were 3 doors all placed symmetrically along a hall that was attached to the rest of the house through a stair case on the edge of the middle. The halls were perfectly painted white , matched perfectly with the creme carpets. He knocked the door and said " you coming?".

She then opened the door and smiled before passing him and walking down the stairs. Dipper did a double take as she would never just 'walk' down the stairs, she'd hop, slide, dance, fall , but never walk.

The pair reached the bottom of the stairs turning the corner in order to reach the table.

Dipper gasped as he looked at the table, he turned to his sister to see her reaction but, zoned out she pulled up a chair and rested her head in her hands.

"You alright there kid" an old voice said from the other side of the table.

Surely not, she thought as he head lifted from her hand and to the other side of the table , where her to gruncle's were sat, smiling.

"What?" she said , as a real smile spread across her face like wild fire." Gruncle Stan, Gruncle Ford!"

"Dipper called expressing his concerns with your situation, so we've come to lend some assistance" Ford smiled.

"Alright, alright, alright" Stan begun. " I refuse to eat anything before i get a hug off you kid , you to Dipper"

The two teens ran towards their Gruncle and hugged him. Dippers eyes wandered to the door leading the the kitchen, it was left slightly open . There, his parents stood talking about the arrival of their gruncle's. The mother seemed saddened, as if something heartbreaking was about to take place, and the father stood angry, as if he could knock down the door any moment . However, Dipper was determined to enjoy this last but of summer before returning to their bitter reality.

A couple of minuets had past, Dipper and Mabel sat opposite their gruncle's as they began to catch up on the last couple of years. Stand and Ford hadn't aged a day, that was probably due to all the monster hunting, and of course that's what Dipper guessed.

"You should have seen the size of it, it was this giant, no huge squid, octopus no wait , dinosaur " Stan said , exploding with excitement as if he were there, on their treasured boat searching the world for anything remotely weird. Ford , Dipper and Mabel all chuckled at this , leading to Stan's confusion " What, I'm being serious" , leading to even more laughter. " Tell em Point Dexter" he said as he elbowed his brother.

Laughing, Ford shook his head slowly " Alright, I will say this , when that first giant tentacle hit deck, it was nearly as weird as the creatures back at Gravity Falls. So strange in fact look, it' in my journal" he said as he pulled out a journal from his jacket and demonstrated the page .

"wow that sounds amazing" Dipper squealed as he scanned the page in awe. "You , you still write in your journals?" Dipper questioned as he scratched his scruffy , curly hazelnut hair. He had abandoned the iconic pine tree cap to a box , dedicated to keeping the times of gravity falls fact he had abandoned most of his wardrobe to the box and wore a grey hooded sweat shirt with a pair of black jeans.

"Yes, perhaps I am a tad ambitious in my research , however without the leak from other dimensions the explanation for these anomaly's" Ford answered. He paused for a moment before closing the journal and returning it to its original pocket. "All that's for another time" he smiled. "I heard quantum physics is your point of interest Dipper"

"Haha , yea " Dipper said nervously.

"What do you mean, your a total nerd" Mabel laughed. She grinned as she poked her brother rib cage and screaming" waaaaaaa".

"How about you kid, I've heard somethin about creative writing?" Stan asked.

"Yea maybe, I mean we had a lot of great adventures huh" she said almost sadly as all of the memories flooded back .

"Well , me and old Fordsy here were thinking , there'd be loads of opportunities for you both back at the ol'shack." Stan replied

"Dipper you and I can work to solve all sorts of scientific anomaly's , but we'll also make the point of bringing you Mabel in order to inspire your writing" Ford said , carrying on his brothers point.

Dipper and Mabel's heads slowly turned towards each other , almost as if to mentally discuss if this was actually happening. Mabel's face lit up with excitement within an instant, Dippers soon followed. She nodded at him, before the pair turned back to face their gruncles . Could this be happening. Could she actually have an endless summer, exploring with her favourite people in the world. She'd get to see her friends , Soos , Wendy , Candy...

Before they had a chance to answer the pairs parents walked in.

"Look, we've thought about it and actually we don't want our kids near any of the monstrosity's of gravity falls, ever." The father said , clearly angered at the thought , yet he spoke with a diplomatic tone.

"What?"The gruncles both said in shock. The kids had had a great time all those summers ago ? Why couldn't they go now?

"Hey what gives "Stan said, throwing his arms up in protest.

""I'm sorry Stanley , but after all the horror stories the kids have told us ... I mean why don't you think we've sent them since? You faked your own death! And you think we'd trust you" The mother now spoke up.

"Now hang on a minute here..." Stan began in a fury , his face boiled . He wasn't responsible , look at them! Mabel was a shadow of her former self , and Dipper. Dipper didn't belong here , he belonged back at Gravity Falls.

Before he had a chance to continue Ford placed his hand on his brothers shoulder and smiled , before talking , calmly , like the father in a diplomatic tone" Now , now Stanley" he began before clearing his voice. "I am correct in saying that both Mabel and Dipper have experienced issues in regards to life here, issue's that can quite easily be resolved. You have an incredible son and an extraordinary daughter , who in this environment will be moulded into your average Joe. Gravity Falls, with all of it's quirks, has the potential to act as a catalyst in helping your children develop into more than just clones of today's society"

Everyone's eyes were glued on Ford as he spoke. "As for Stanley , yes he is immature and sometimes reckless , however in the aspects he is reckless i am rational. In the same way in the aspects that I am reckless he is rational. On our own I would agree that no , we are not suited to raise teens, however together I'd say we would be great. " Ford smiled.

Both parents were left speechless.

"Mom , Dad, I get why you don't want us to leave but we need this " Dipper smiled.

"Yea, I hate it here. School sucks, and I was sooooo excited for high school "Mabel said, sounding as if she was pleading. "Plus, how can you even argue Fords point" she smiled.

"Please" Dipper added.

"We'll need to think about this . You both have school tomorrow regardless. Eat your food and go to bed"
