Prologue
The measured words of a man's voice told the tale.
"Fights never end. Fights will never end. For what purpose does combat serve? What is worth fighting for? Here, we're talking about a different story."
Edenia, a beautiful and vibrant realm was full of cottages, forests, rivers, mountains, waterfalls, lakes and a mighty palace. The inhabitants walked about.
It was a glorious, colourful weather. A thick bearded man with long black haired in royal blue robe sat alongside a woman with long black hair in purple robe under the trees next to a high waterfall which plummet to a river far below them. When they walked by, she had giggled and pulled Jerrod inside, saying, "How about a drink, dear?"
Sindel offered her husband a silver chalice full of hot drink. He began to sip the hot drink. It was something he had never tasted before, very sweet and foamy and creamy.
"Thank you, I haven't had in a long time." said Jerrod.
"Don't you like it?" laughed Sindel.
"Who said anything about not liking it?" laughed Jerrod.
Both had Edenian pies. Jerrod's hand still tingled where she grabbed it. As they walked through the grassy plains, watching the waterfalls, rivers and the sunset with their beverage; they felt it was the best trip.
Inside the throne room of the Great Palace of Edenia, a young girl in blue robe playfully chased a young girl in green. As she was caught, the girl in green decided to do the same with the one in blue. Both laughed until they were halted by the arrival of Sindel and Jerrod.
"Kitana, I hope you're not being into mischief with Jade again." called Sindel.
"Mother, father!" Kitana expressed delight.
The three hugged. As they saw Jade, Sindel and Jerrod hugged Jade. This was stopped by the sounds of march. They caught sight of a Terracotta Army that was led by a tall muscular man. They stood before the throne.
"My Lord Jerrod…"
"Hachiman?"
"Yes, the general of the Dragon King's Army and leader of the Lava Shrine worshippers, have come on behalf of the Empress Kreeya with a message."
"A message?" Jerrod wondered.
"Yes, one that is about Lord Onāgá."
"I hope that it's not any bad news."
"Actually, it is." Hachiman assured.
"Let's hear it out!"
In Outworld, Jerrod and his allies saw the death of a massive dragon which was seen dead. And Kreeya and her matriarchy wept over the corpse.
"Emperor Onāgá? How can this be?" Jerrod was in shock.
Meanwhile, Shao Kahn instigated his invasion onto Earthrealm and sent the Shadow Priests to slaughter the remaining Earthrealm warriors and those who betrayed him. Raiden confronted the emperor and demanded that he cease his invasion, warning him of the wrath of the Elder Gods, though this doesn't faze him within a slightest.
Simultaneously, Kung Lao, a Caucasian man with shoulder-length blonde hair and a red haired woman were confronted by the Shadow Priests and evaded them for a short period of time, though they become concerned over Raiden's whereabouts and return to Shakaana's colony, where they were surrounded by the Shadow Priests themselves, who manipulated them into returning; despite Raiden's warning to escape, Kung Lao and his allies were attacked and killed by the Shadow Priests, enraging the thunder god, who attacked the emperor.
After a vicious battle, Raiden gained the upper hand, and before he could kill Shao Kahn, his powers were suddenly diminished; Shao Kahn revealed his deception towards him, admitting to simply distracting him and allowing him to transport the hidden city into Outworld and then preventing Raiden from using his powers, per the rules set forth by the Elder Gods themselves. Soon after, a victorious Shao Kahn captures Raiden and imprisons him in his castle in Outworld, where he reveals each of the personal belongings of the Earthrealm warriors and Outworld traitors, which were collected following the onslaught by the Shadow Priests, rendering Earthrealm completely defenceless.
Finally, Shao Kahn mocks a fatigued and powerless Raiden, who is forced to reluctantly observed as Earthrealm was under the reign of the evil emperor.
