Sonic was not expecting his day to go like this. He had expected to wake up, and eat with Tails. Instead, his morning woke a coldness like the winter winds.
Even the floor was cold, to point of hurting his feet. He slipped on his shoes, with his breath fogging up. The room was… horribly dark, even as he walked. The taps of his shoes echoed through the hallway as he walked down to the mess hall.
"Hello? Anyone up?" Sonic shouted, "Nicole? Hello?"
"SONIC HELP!" Sally's cry Echoed through the base. Sonic heard the desperation in her voice, and ran forward. The mess hall was filled with Sally, Amy, Rotor, Antoine…. And him.
Sonic saw his reflection, and only saw the differences. The Blue hedgehog had two purple rings around his arms, and red eyes. Aside from that, he was a spitting image of Sonic. In his arms, however, was a terrified looking Tails. Sonic could feel that Tails was nervous, as Sonic's doppelganger had a hand tightly around the fox's throat.
"Ah… Everyone is up now… good." Sonic-look-a-like grinned with a vile, razor toothed grin. His hand gripped tighter on Tails' neck. Tails began to choke.
Sonic surged forward, and Sally cried out, "STOP IT!"
Sonic stepped back, and retreated to Sally.
His evil clone smiled, "Good… Good." He slammed his fist into Tails' side, warranting a yelp as the fox collapsed.
"STOP IT YOU BASTARD." Sally shouted, her eyes getting teary. Sonic got ready to charge.
"I wouldn't do that. If you are the me of this universe, you know I'll get to him before you get to me." Evil Sonic grinned, his knees bent over Tails' panting form, before kicking the fox in the face.
"STOP IT!" Sonic growled, feeling terrified. He was more terrified than Tails was, which was amazing. The little guy was being so brave. He was in pain, but still staying strong.
Evil Sonic chuckled, "Or what? What will you do?" He kick Tails so hard that the little fox skid across the floor into the counter.
Evil Sonic zipped like Sonic had never seen before, placing a foot on his little buddy's head.
Antoine shouted, "You Insolen' little twat!"
Rotor shouted angrily, "I'll make you pay for anything you do to him!"
"I'll Crush your skull!" Amy cried out with her hammer drawn.
"LEAVE HIM ALONE!" Sally shouted at Evil Sonic.
Evil Sonic didn't even seem remotely phased by it, and dug his heel into Tails' skull, "Better watch how you talk to me. I don't know how much force the kid can take."
Tails cried out in pain and agony. His confidence had waned, and Sonic felt terror in the little guy's heart, along with his pain, and a feeling of betrayal. They were doing this to Tails.
"I'LL RIP YOUR SKULL OUT!" Amy cried, barring her teeth.
"YOU'LL PAY FOR EVERYTHING!" Rotor Snarled, but Evil Sonic's foot dug deeper into Tail's skull.
"We'll give you anything." Sally cried out, falling to her knees. Evil Sonic stopped.
"What was that?" Evil Sonic asked, his vile grin emerging once again. His eye looked hungrily at Sally. The lights flickered.
Sally hesitated, but starred him down, "We will give you anything, but don't hurt Tails. Please." Her heart was breaking.
Even Tails was shocked. His eyes were wide.
Evil Sonic began to chuckled, "Alright then… I do want something from you." He pointed to the table, "That rose."
Sonic turned and saw red rose, sitting in a vase, on one of the tables.
Sonic frowned, when did they get a vase and rose? That wasn't there yesterday.
"Just the rose." Sally asked, hesitantly. She walked over to the vase, "That's it."
"I want you all to pass it to me… Well, except for you, other me." Evil Sonic smirked.
Sally grabbed the rose, and Sonic felt terrified for some reason. Something was wrong. This was… awful. Why was this guy here? What did he want?
Sally handed the rose to Amy, who frowned, but passed it to Rotor, who clenched it tightly.
"Ah, ah, ah" Evil Sonic waved his finger tauntingly, "Don't do anything foolish. If I don't get my rose, you don't get your fox."
Rotor growled, but passed it to Antoine. Antoine looked at the rose curiously, before walking up to Evil Sonic, and holding it out.
Evil Sonic snatched the rose, and smelled it "Ah… You know… you should really be careful who you trust. Not everyone is who they say they are." With that, Sally cried out, followed by Amy.
Sonic looked over and saw vines growing up around them, tying up Sonic's friends.
Sonic jerked around, "You Liar!" He got ready to charge.
Evil Sonic waved his finger once again, "No, here's the fox." He kicked Tails into Sonic's arm. The Fox whimpered, and felt scared.
"You'll be ok." Sonic fumed before setting the fox down.
"Now, you'd better watch out, because I'm the only one who can lift the enchantment." Evil Sonic laughed.
Sonic froze… An enchantment?
"Ah… a rose, so beautiful, but so dangerous. If you want your friends to survive.. you'll behave." Evil Sonic taunted, smelling the red flower.
Sonic growled, "What do you want?"
"Oh, to the point, good. I want…everything. But you can't give me that, not directly. Instead I need blood…. Innocent blood. I could grab it myself, but why not have a little fun. You bring me the blood of four innocents, pure of heart, and I'll lift the enchantment" Evil Sonic smiled.
"NO, I'm not killing people." Sonic snarled, "Not innocent people."
"If I don't get my blood, your friends die. If I die though… well your friends won't be much better." Evil Sonic cackled, "don't feel bad. I am the best Enchanter of my Dimension."
Sonic growled.
"You'd better find something to do, your friends have until midnight tomorrow. Don't let them down." Evil Sonic laughed.
"Sonic, don't do it! I'll die for my kingdom." Sally shouted defiantly.
Sonic felt his heart break. He was going to do it. "Fine, you'll pay for this." Sonic turned around.
"Ah, take the rose with you. Don't worry, it won't hurt you now." Evil Sonic smiled.
Sonic eyed him up. He didn't seem to be lying. Sonic picked up the rose. It turned white.
"When the rose is red with the blood of innocents, your friends will go free." Evil Sonic sat smugly on the counter, "Take that Fox with you."
Sonic turned around and ran. He need time to think, maybe of a plan, maybe of guilt. Tails followed him to the mountains. Sonic arrived where he needed… in the middle of the forest. He slumped down, and rubbed his temples.
What did he agree to? Sonic found a rock that was next to a growing tree and sat down. He slumped.
Evil him… with his glowing, angry eyes. How did all of this happen. Sonic gripped his skull.
"We're… wasting time." Tails muttered.
Sonic looked up. Tails was fast, somehow. He'd always been slower than Sonic, but that must have changed.
"What am I wasting time on?" Sonic asked, growling, "I can't hurt people…"
Tails frowned, and paused, "… but you can't let Sally die."
Sonic shook his head…frustrated.
Tails nodded, "Well… There might be… people's lives we could improve…"
Sonic looked up, "What?" What was he proposing? Sonic felt himself getting nervous and angry from the implications that were flooding his mind.
Tails spread out his hands, "Well… there are orphans… right… They'll grow up suffering without parents…"
Sonic raised his voice, "WHAT ARE YOU SAYING!" Sonic knew what he was saying, but the idea was…terrible.
Tails flinched and cowered, his ears drooping in submission.
Sonic stopped himself, "Sorry… But no… I can't hurt kids, or innocents."
Tails frowned, "But… Sally…"
"I can't… I can't give her up… but I can't hurt orphans…" Sonic sighed. He was powerless against magic... but he knew someone who worked with magic often.
"Come on." Sonic stood up and faced mobotropolis.
Tails perked up, "Where are we going?"
"To see someone who would know what to do." Sonic growled, facing the city with his ancient enemy.

Sally stood in place, as the vines bound her feet to the ground. She saw the face of the man she had grown to love, now smiling smugly on a counter. He was starring at her… eerily.
Sally glared back at him.
"Why are you so upset, my dear?" He walked over to her, and moved a hand to her face.
Sally smacked it, "I don't think so. Don't you dare touch me."
Evil Sonic laughed, his eyes seemed to bleed, dripping down his cheek, "You're fun… but you need to learn your place." To prove his point, he grabbed her arms and pulled her in, forcing his lips onto hers.
He pulled away, "Hehe, Just like I remembered. I can't do this with my Sally anymore… she was a lot like you…" He frowned, "But… I didn't want to lose her, so next best choice in my book."
"You aren't Sonic." Sally growled, pulling away from him.
"I am Sonic, just not your Sonic. I studied under Mamoth mogul, before I passed that upstart. Now… I have so much power." Evil Sonic smiled, but his voice was… distant.
"What has it gotten you." Sally asked. Maybe he could see how this was going to end, "You don't have friends… You don't have anyone here. If you stop, we'll let you stay…"
"SHUT UP!" Evil Sonic shouted, kicking one of the chairs in the mess hall, warranting a flinch from Amy. Evil Sonic's demeanor changed, to one of vile vengeance, " I remember why I sew your mouth shut, my little doll."
What? Sally pulled away slightly, "Wh-what?"
"Would like to see my Sally?" Evil Sonic laughed, arching his neck, "I think I have the power to spare."
He thrust out his arm. A purple spiral appeared in the room, tearing through the floor, and a brown figure popped out, sprawling onto the ground. A chipmunk, who looked just like Sally, at least from the rear.
Amy Cried out when the figure looked up.
"SHUSH, she's very self conscious. Aren't you, my doll." Evil Sonic growled, before softening. He stretched out a hand, and picked up this Sally figure.
Sally felt her heartrate increase as this Sally was turned to face her. Sally saw her body, cut and stitched all over. Her eyes… weren't sown shut with black threads, the same with her mouth. Just enough space was left in the eyes to let out moisture. Evil Sally was crying.
Sally pulled away as Evil Sonic approached, "Please don't make me sow your mouth shut… you're so kissable."
Sally growled out of fear, "Sonic will stop you…"
"Will he… I don't think he can. He can't hurt people to get what he wants… I win." Evil Sonic growled smugly.
Rotor and Antoine both seemed to be in shock.
Sally growled, "He'll pull through… He'll stop you." Sonic always did. He was charming, and a hero. He'd pull through for her, or she'd die. Either was good.
"Hmmm… let's make it interesting then." Evil Sonic smiled, flinging his hands in a small motion towards the ground. Purple sparks flew into the dirt, and disappeared.
Evil Sonic smiled, "Now, go find my counterpart, and play around. Cause him misery, cause everyone misery. Let's have fun in this world!" He called out to nothing.
Sally was nervous to say the least, "What did you do? WHAT DID YOU DO?"
"I just added a few more pieces to the board." Evil Sonic grinned.

Fiona's eyes opened to the sound of marching. She sat up, her head hurting. Right… she hadn't gotten much sleep last night…
Someone had out foxed her. That was both humiliating… and terrifying. They'd pushed past her defenses… no she'd known about them. Fiona had simply convinced herself that an intruder was impossible.
She growled at her nightstand, and sat up. She crawled out of bed, and slipped out of her nightgown. Fiona reached over to her dressor, and pulled out a navy blue belly-top and low-cut shorts. She slipped them on, and put her boots on, before walking out into the hall.
"Sir, we've checked everywhere, if there was an intruder, they vanished. Perhaps your son was imagining things." The guard proposed.
Frederick tensed up, and grabbed Alister, making quite the scene in the hall. Pulling his son forward by the wrist, he opened the palm and removed the cloth bandage that Alister's mother had given him.
"Look at my son's hand! Does this seen like he imagined anything to you?" Frederick shouted in a stressed voice.
"Dad… can I go." Alister whimpered, trying to pull away. Fiona saw why. She walked towards her brother.
"No! Tell me guard, why would my son lie about getting attacked?" Frederick was getting very defensive.
"Sir, I'm just saying that children can be quite imaginative. He may have had an accident, he could be growing into his claws." The guard offered, clearly nervous.
Alister began to jerk, as his father grew angrier, "HE'S FIVE!"
"Daddy… please." Alister was starting to cry.
"FREDERICK!" Olivia's voice came as fast as she did, zipping past Fiona.
Frederick jerked around, and then looked down. Alister's hand started to swell from his squeezing.
"Alister… I'm… so, so sorry." Frederick muttered in a daze, releasing his son.
Alister pulled his hand away, and ran… seeming to be terrified.
Fiona saw the little fox run to the stairs. Frederick looked horrified and disgusted. Olivia tried to stop her son, but he slipped under her arm.
Not wanting to listen to the argument that was about to come, Fiona decided… she wanted to help her nephew. So she walked up the stairs, and saw the door that had been cracked.
Fiona walked in, and saw the room, a deep brown floor, with burgundy curtains. Little figures sat on a dresser, one was of Sonic. Fiona smiled… yep this was a kid's room, or her brother was a huge nerd. The dresser had a mirror on top of it, large enough to view a man's upperbody.
She saw the mound on the bed. It quivered under the covers. Fiona walked over and stroked the bump. It tensed up.
Fiona lifted the covers enough to see the crying child.
"Hey… are you good?" Fiona asked, smiling down at her nephew.
"Yes." He lied through sniffles.
"Are you mad your dad hurt you." Fiona frowned, stroking his head.
"No…"Alister lied.
"You're lying to me." Fiona warned.
"No I'm not." He growled, stubbornly, crossing his arms.
"I'm good at lying, so I know when someone is lying to me." Fiona confirmed, smugly. This kid couldn't play with the big players.
Alister remained quiet.
Fiona crawled on top of the covers, "Listen… your dad didn't mean to hurt you. He's worried about you ok?"
Alister frowned, "Ok…"
Fiona smiled, "We all love you and want to keep you safe. Did you lie about the black fox?"
Alister suddenly tensed up, and his tears welled up. He shook his head nervously. He wasn't lying. There was an intruder.
Fiona got up, but Alister clasped her hands, "Please don't leave me." He begged. His eyes were big, and Fiona felt bad…. What was the harm?
She laid down on the covers, and Alister snuggled up to her. This was almost peaceful.
One thing caught her eye. Just in the corner of her vision… she saw movement… They weren't alone.
