After the death of Lord Farquad, the village of Duloc fell into hardships worse than ever before, the villagers began to notice an increase of disappearances of the local children, many of them were unaware that Princess Fiona ever existed, let alone was formally the fiance of Lord Farquad and was freed of her curse by Shrek. Since everyone at the wedding was blinded by the light of the spell breaking and had their memories erased. The local guards finding Farquad's remains in a pile of Dragon dung. A search of the Dragon's whereabouts found nothing, it was believed that Dragon had moved on to hunt elsewhere. It appeared that absolutely NO ONE liked the dictator Lord Farquad but his father Grumpy the dwarf would take over running the village. He did a good job building the economy through the mining of gems, coal and gold in the nearby mountains and by making booze in the nearby distilleries. Word hadn't reached to him from Far Far Away that Princess Fiona lived in the nearby swamp with her husband and children since Snow White wasn't talking to him for calling her a trashy broad, that was the last straw for Snow after putting up with his antics after His love the Princess from the Princess and the Pea, fell out of bed and died while Farquad was a baby and after Farquad took over the land that she used to rule over.

The locals were quick to blame the local ogre family for the disappearances of the local children, they didn't realise that there was even a greater threat to the community, that a family of ogres had ties to the royal family in Far Far Away and that all of their problems were just beginning.

It wasn't until a Witcher by the name of Geralt of Rivia and his bard friend Dandelion stumbled upon the village of Duloc, that Geralt stumbled upon the truth and that the story was much bigger than everybody realized.
