RECONCILIATION AND REDEMPTION
"You, my dear, are full of surprises," Hans purred as an extremely well-dressed Monica led him into what had to be the most expensive restaurant in California. The overhead lights flickered softly, and Hans had never seen so many candles in his entire life. However, his gaze was on Monica, who'd donned a pale blue dress that showed a lot more skin than usual. He hoped they might check into a hotel room afterwards.
"I thought in here, we might get away from... you know." At his confused look, she whispered, "The publicity, Hans."
"Ah, yes. Dating an ex-terrorist does have its drawbacks, unfortunately."
"Well, it has been a year since you committed those crimes. Maybe nobody will care even if you do show up in a German restaurant, but I'd rather not take any chances."
"Now, let's not talk about my past transgressions," Hans said. Summoning a waitress, he ordered their meal in an accent that only slightly betrayed his true mother tongue. Monica glared as the waitress seemed too intent on 'accidentally' caressing his arm as promised she'd prepare his order. However, Hans seemed completely indifferent to her.
After their meal, they wandered into their car, arm-in-arm. Hans opened the car door for her. As she gracefully sat down in the front seat, Hans leaned in and kissed her passionately.
With a smirk on his face, he sneakily drove them in the general direction in the nearest hotel, where they stayed the entire night.
