DIE HARD V

"Hans, you'd better heat up that miracle, because we just broke through our Number 6 and the electromagnetic came down like a fucking anvil."

"Well, take a look at what our friends outside are doing, and I'll be right up." Hans allowed himself a smirk. Oh, Theo had no way of knowing what was coming…

When Hans finally reached the computer room, Theo began giving him a run-down of what was going on outside, using Nakatomi's surveillance cameras. "Those guys are the city engineers… they're going into the street circuits. Those guys in the suits… I don't know who they are," he admitted.

"That's the FBI. They're ordering the others to cut the building's power. Regular as clockwork," Hans said mockingly.

"Or… a time lock," Theo realised.

"Precisely. The circuits that cannot be cut are cut automatically in response to a terrorist incident. You ask for miracles, Theo, I give you the FBI."

Suddenly, all the lights went out, and a voice saying, "Emergency lighting activated," was heard, before the lights went on again. The plan is working… Hans thought.

The words "Emergency seal released" flashed on Theo's computer. "It's gonna go!" he yelled.

The magnificent silver doors of the vault slid open with a buzzing noise. As Hans, Eddie and Theo stood by the vault in awe, $640,000,000 worth in treasure was revealed to them.

"Merry Christmas," Theo said.

While his henchmen were busily gathering up every bit of treasure that was inside the fault (Theo in particular, who had never been able to nick quite so much money even as a hacker, had no qualms about openly showing his delight at all the riches in store), Hans picked up his radio. "I wish to talk to the FBI."

"This is Special Agent Johnson of the FBI," came a pompous voice on the other end. "The State Department has arranged for the return of your comrades. Helicopters are on route as you requested."

"I hear you. We'll be ready." Now this was going to be the more delightful part of the plan.

"By the time they touch down, we'll blow the roof, they'll spend a month sifting through the rubble, and by the time they figure out what went wrong, we'll be sitting on a beach earning 20%."

Because after all, when you steal $600, you can just disappear. When you steal $600 million, they will find you, unless they think you are already dead.
