Chapter 1: Movie Night

The next day, I met up with Sarah, James, and Henri, as well as some of my other best friends Alex Russo, Justin Evans, and Max Greenwald at Sarah, James, and Henri's suite in the Alcoma on the Green to watch 3 really great movies that we have enjoyed seeing in the past in movie theaters. They were Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and The Lion King. This came after an overnight brunch and birthday celebration for Henri's birthday on Tuesday. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. We crafted lunch bags for popcorn and set up a pretend concession stand to look exactly like the Loew's Waterfront Theater, since it was closed due to the coronavirus outbreak. "How have you been dealing with the coronavirus outbreak, Alex?" Sarah asked. "I didn't really do much except for sleeping," Alex replied. "Well, that's great, but did you find anything else to do inside the new apartment?" Sarah asked. "No, because I really don't want to risk catching the virus and giving it to other people," Alex stated. "Now, I think that the coronavirus is like a scary ghost that changes people's lives forever," I told my friends. "At least, we're not going to have to deal with that bully, Benedict in the movie theater," Sarah stated. "I saw on the news that he tested positive for the coronavirus and is going to be hospitalized at UPMC in the South Side," Alex told us. "Sarah, Alex, people should not be going outside in public and definitely not stand so close to each other," I told both of my female friends. "They are not taking this coronavirus as seriously as they should be." "Benedict only got back together with me once in high school, but we generally have not spoken to each other since he started to do drugs and alcohol," Sarah explained. "Well, maybe Benedict was just not a good fit for you, Sarah," Alex pointed out. There were also snacks to serve with the movie, including Red Robin take-out, popcorn, candy, cookies, ice cream, and soda. "I remember seeing all of these great movies with you, Justin," James pointed out. "James, my dream is to eventually compose a concert band piece with selections from all of the movies similar to my last band concert of high school," Justin stated. "I think that you are a very good musician, since I remember singing along with you playing your trumpet at the Christmas party," James remembered. "These are all classics that we enjoyed when we first saw them at the theater," Justin pointed out. "Happy birthday, Henri," Max stated. "Thanks, Max," Henri stated. "Would you like the last piece of carrot cake?" "Sure," Max agreed. "I like to just take quizzes that describe my personality," I told Sarah and Alex as all 3 of the movies were starting. "It's a shame that the nail salon is closed, as well," Alex stated. "I like to get my nails done once every 4 months." "Do you ever get manicures sometimes, Alex?" Sarah asked. "Sometimes I do, Sarah," Alex replied, "but mostly pedicures to get soft, smooth feet and brightly colored toenails for spring and summer." "I am also learning how to sleep in total darkness," Justin stated. "You mean, with no night light, Justin?" James asked. "That's right, James," Justin replied. "I think that the moon and stars make a natural light throughout the window in this lovely apartment." "Do you still like to listen to music, Max?" Henri asked. "I sure do, Henri," Max replied. "I love all kinds of music from the past and the present." "My guy friends are talking about all of their high school band memories," Alex stated. "Yes, it is all very memorable, but I want this virus to go away as possible so I can move back to Squirrel Hill and get my website for activities back. It was very nice of you to cheer me up, but it's still not the same." Once the 3 movies were over, it was time for all of us to leave. "Thanks for a great day, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Bye, guys!" "Bye!"
