"YOU HAVE WHAT!?" Mamoru was pretty sure the whole floor had heard the Senshi's screeches. Even Ami had a shocked expression. For a minute he studied their faces. Minako was, for some reason, delighted and had stars in her eyes, Rei was looked ready to murder them the moment they came out, Mako's jaw was still hanging and Ami had just schooled her features into serious and didnt show much.
He sighed and Usagi looked at the prince and her senshi, offering a small smile to them. She patted Mamoru's shoulders,"Its okay. You'll learn to accept them." she told her friends.
Silence, all there was was silence in the room. One could have heard if a pin had dropped in it. Mako stood up,"I need fresh air." Then she went out. Rei stood up too, after some time she wordlessly stalked out. Ami sat there, doing nothing. And Mina sprinted up, she got a weird glint in her eye.
"Ma-mo-ru san" She all but sang, Mamoru sighed, trust Minako to get some crazy idea. Usagi looked confused,"What is it Mina-chan?"
"Weelll, since Rei-chan and Mako-chan have difficulty accepting this, why dont we just let them, decide?" before Mamoru could open his mouth to protest she already picked up the stones and exclaimed,"Great! I'll be on my way."
Shoving the Zoicite in Ami's hands, she skipped out of Mamoru's apartment quite pleased with her self.
Like always, Minako had no clue what to do, she had merely just given Makoto and Rei the ex enemies stones and hoped for the best, hoping that Rei didn't crush the Jadeite stone with her foot.
The only stone in her hand now was Kunzite, she played with the pink stone with her fingers, memorizing each and every one of the corners. With a small sigh, she whispered out his name.
"Kunzite." It sounded more like a plead than anything, but she didn't care. There he was, infront of her, in all his translucent glory, bowing down.
"Yes Mas-" he caught himself as he looked up at her. He bowed his head even lower, not meeting her eyes, as if in shame.
"Kunzite" she said with more force,"stand up." He obliged, but still kept his head down, strands of silver facing down too.
"Look at me." He hesitantly raised his eyes and gazed into her, silver ones meeting blue. She strectche her arm and tried to put her hand on his shoulder, only for it to pass through.
"Freyja," his voice was a whisper, Mina shook her head,"It's Minako now."
"Minako," he tested,"Why, why are you here with me, I, do not want to hurt you again."
"It wasn't you, no, it wasn't." her voice was soft, he reached to her this time, his hand touched her cheek and caressed it. He took a step forward, she stepped up too. He embraced her. She was in his arms again, he didn't want anything else.
Ami curled up in her bed, she was in her room, safe, not at peace like she usually was. She wanted to talk to him, once more. She was shy outside, but a romantic had heart. Zoi knew everything about her, he read her like an open book. He loved her. And she found herself falling in love, with him.
Memories after memories came rushing back, Zoicite and her, their first meeting, he had inquired about life on Mercury and she asked about Earth, soon, they were discussing different scientific theories, studying about different life.
Taking the green stone in her hand, she played with it, she needed to talk to him, again. She sat up and said,"Zoicite."
"Master-?" He looked at her and his speech fell short. "Mercury, Calypso, Ami." He ran out of breath by then. She stood up, he took a step forward, when she didn't move, he took another one and took her in his arms.
He silently wept as he embraced her. She wrapped her arms around his torso and held him close. Comforting him as he cried. He resting his forehead on her, he whispered,"Will you ever forgive me?"
She whispered back."Zoi, I already have."
A single tear slipped down her face.
Different types of sweets were spread out on the plates, finally, she was out of material. What she was going to do with the things, she didn't know, probably give it all to Usagi or donate it. She had probably spent her whole supply of flour by now.
He was here, he was. Nephrite, she remembered her senpai, it was only a few years ago, but soon, her senpai's face had faded into Nephrite's with her regaining memories. All men, reminded her of him, she knew, it would be difficult moving on, once in her previous life, she had fallen, now she couldn't fall out.
Taking deep breaths, she took out the stone, the dark green stone was in her hands. You can do this Makoto she thought you can do this. Taking the stone, she said out,"Nephrite."
A translucent body appeared before her. The man smiled at her, gently. "Makoto, my love, I was expecting you to call upon me."
Tears brimmed her eyes,"Yes, yes, it was about time. Why? Why Neph?" Tears were streaming down her face. She sank to her knees. Her hands covered her face.
He bent down,"Beryl was a monster, she tortured us, to weaken our wills. Then, she showed us illusions, you moved on, you killed me, my men. I loved you too much, we were manipulated. I-" his breath hitched"-I always loved you. I still do. From the moment I asked you to marry me. And, soon, I was brain dead, I lost consciousness and she used my body. When I saw you, dead, broken, I died inside all over again. The only control I had, I saw no purpose, I betrayed my liege, my love, I had to be gone."
"Neph, it wasn't you, I tried, tried to convince myself. Maybe, one day, like Endymion and Serenity, we too will be happy." Makoto stood straight, wiped her tears cleans, Nephrite followed, wiping her tears with his thumb.
Makoto chuckled,"Are you still a big cuddly bear?"
Normally it would have annoyed him, but now,"Whatever you want, love. Whatever you want."
She was mediating in front of the fire, she didn't know what to do. If she weren't Rei Hino, she would be crying, sobbing. Even after all this time, she was still in love with that idiot. She thought the fire would help, but there was no help, it only showed visions if him.
She remembered, she was shown, the fire showed her. He was tortured, physically, mentally and emotionally. They ruined him using her name. She heard him, after he, no the clone of him, had managed to kill her.
His eyes no longer had that mischievous twinkle that she fell in love with. His face didn't have that goofy grin. That lopsided genuine smile, that cocky smirk. Or maybe the solemn look that he used to make peace between people.
It showed her, again and again. She couldn't concentrate anymore, everything reminded her of him.
She was done, she wanted to talk to him. She wanted to scream at him, for leaving her. For allowing her to kill him. For him leaving her. She wanted to scream at herself, for falling in love with him again, for not allowing any other man near her.
It was him, not her, right?
She clutched the stone. Part of her wanted to crush it under her heel. The lovesick part of her wanted to talk to him again.
So she listened to her non sensible side. She plucked up the courage and once in her room she all but ordered him out.
"Jadeite! Show yourself."
"My l-" the word fell upon his lips. Like a whisper, like a plea he whispered out,"Hecates."
Rei shook her head,"Iie, it's Rei in this lifetime." That arrogant smirk appeared on his lips again, his eyes twinkled again, she fell in love all over again,"Miss me much firebug?"
She rolled her eyes,"Don't flatter yourself." But she was smiling inside, he knew too, it was like back then. He was still trying to charm her.
The smirk melted off his face soon enough,"Hecates, I-i don't know what to say, it's it's, complicated. I know, you had your own past, why you don't trust men. I know, it is going to be hard for you to forgive me, but please. Please, I-i still, love you."
"I know, and it's Rei now. I forgive you Jadeite." She smirked when she saw his jaw drop to the floor. She raised a eyebrow "What, is the great and smooth general speechless?"
"Why?" Rei paused for a minute because of the question. "The fire told me."
Jadeite smiled, his genuine smile that was reserved for only the closest people. It was genuine, and lopsided, his smile was still charming as ever.
He hesitantly reached for a stray strand of hair and tucked it behind her hair. Soon, their foreheads were touching, his hand going through her hair and the other hand on the nape of her neck. Her hand was on his chest and the other one one on his shoulder.
"I have a confession to make." Rei said, Jadiete raised eye brow and then grinned,"Let me guess, you're about to declare your undying love for me."
Rei gave him a look,"Well, if you don't want to hear it-"
"Fine fine, please do."
"Jed, ever since the Silver Millennium, I never stopped loving you." She confessed, Jadiete laughed,"Well Rei, guess what. I love you too."
