Anyone Else
Chapter Four
Latvia - Baron Zemo's Apartment
Bucky woke with a start, sitting up in the dim light, trying to catch his breath. Instead of dreaming that he was on assignment as The Winter Soldier, he was in the Alps, on the train with Steve, plummeting to the river below. He turned over to his back and stared at the ceiling for a moment, listening to the relatively still flat around him.
Sleeping arrangements had been easier than he originally thought, not that he slept much anyway. Sam took the couch in the living room. Zemo took the master bedroom as expected, and he'd shown Helen to the guest room. Bucky had wandered in and found there were two beds. One underneath the window where Helen had laid down and his that was tucked in the opposite corner, underneath a large abstract gold and blue painting. Helen suggested they could share the room. As they settled down for sleep, he'd found himself wishing she'd suggested they share one of the beds instead of just the room. The heroes had laid down for a few hours until they could attend Mama Donya's funeral and find Karli. They'd yet to really sleep since meeting up with Zemo two days earlier.
A distressed whimper drew his attention to the window. Rustling sheets told him that Helen was also restless, maybe they had more in common then he'd like to really admit. He sat up again to peer through the shadows at Helens bed, trying to decipher if she was awake or not. After listening to her move around a little bit more, he slid out of bed and padded barefoot across the polished hardwood floor.
Helen lay with her back to him, shoulders trembling. "Helen." He whispered, coming closer. He reached out to touch her. He had no sooner made contact with her shoulder then found himself flat on his back on the mattress. Helen loomed over him, straddling his lap, her hand cruelly gripped around his throat.
Helen reacted to the presence behind her without really thinking. She'd just dreamt of the assasination of a high ranking US official from WWII whom she'd seduced then strangled during sex. It had been one of the first times she used her sexuality to overpower a target. She usually had this nightmare whenever she was sexually frustrated, so it made sense that it had invaded her mind this afternoon. Especially after everything that had happened in Madripoor, she knew push was going to come to shove eventually.
Bucky didn't know exactly how he expected to feel the first time that Helen straddled him in bed, but fearing for his life wasn't quite what he had in mind. He tried in vain to pry her fingers off his throat. Goodness, she was strong, "H-Helen." He choked out. "C'mon, Hel." He crooned, "It's B-Bucky." He reached up with his left arm so she could feel the metal on her skin. "Come back to m-me."
Helen suddenly registered what was happening, the sensation of Bucky's vibranium fingers gripping her skin snapped her back to reality. She gasped, letting go of his throat, chest heaving with the effort she had expended to hold him down. Tears welled up in her eyes as she realized what she had done. "I-I" She stammered, thoroughly mortified by her actions, "s-sorry." She whispered, covering her face with her hands. She sat back on her heels for a moment, trying to figure out if she should run away or cry.
Bucky sat up, gently, but firmly folding his arms around her trembling form. "Easy, honey." He whispered back, "Breathe." He prompted. He slowly pulled her closer, causing her feet to disappear under the pillows as he slid up and sat up against the headboard. "You're safe." He kissed her temple, hand cradling her head into his chest.
Helen lost it. Usually she could keep her emotions in check, Bucky caused her emotions to have a mind of their own. Silent sobs wracked her chest as she pressed her cheek to his bare chest, tears streaming down her face. "I-I'm usually a-alone." She hiccupped, mentally kicking herself for breaking down. "I-I should've taken the couch."
Bucky knew exactly what she meant. He'd had plenty of nightmares and had never fallen asleep and spent the night, especially after being intimate with a woman, post his brain washing. He just didn't trust himself. Wakanda had reopened that possibility to him. He hadn't thought much about how she might feel with him in the same room. He knew that if he'd gotten physical that Helen could've handled it. He hadn't even really thought he'd have a Winter Soldier dream with her around, not that he could really control it. She just seemed to put him more at ease and allow him to feel peace even when their future seemed so uncertain.
Helen wiped at her tears and sniffled, trying to get her emotions under control. As she came back to herself, she slowly realized she was straddling Bucky's lap and he was half naked. Not that she had much on herself. She wore a tank top and sleep shorts. "You're not wearing a s-shirt." She mumbled, lifting her head to peer up at him, suddenly self conscious that they were so close together in such an intimate place.
Bucky smirked. "Yeah, that a problem?" He scoffed, cocking eyebrow, giving her an easy smile. "Usually don't wear one to bed."
"Oh," Helen swallowed against the lump of nervousness in her throat.
Bucky smoothed her hair away from her face. "You want to tell me who you thought I was?"
Helen bit her lip, reveling in his soft touch. She probably owed him at least a small explanation, she had tried to strangle him. "A target." She licked her lips. "1944. I seduced him at a sleazy bar, then strangled him during sex."
Bucky's breath stopped for a moment. He didn't know what he expected, but He hadn't expected her to say that she murdered a man while having sex with him. "Ah." Bucky mused. "Guess you and Ms. Romanoff have more in common than I thought."
Helen sighed. Black Widow was an Avenger. She was just a SHIELD field agent with a tragic, frozen past. "Oh, I don't know if that's quite accurate, Sarge." She laughed on soft breath. "I'm no superhero."
"Oh?" Bucky scoffed, "You definitely looked like one today." His left hand released her shoulder to smooth down her body to her waist, settling on her hip. "Government issue leather jacket, boots, fingerless gloves, and a weapon." He clicked his tongue, "swagger."
Helen's brows rose. He had a good memory. She'd teased him about the very same thing after their jump from the cargo plane. "Touche." She scoffed. "Nice redirect," She nodded to where his hand had settled on her hip, biting her lip.
Bucky glanced over at the clock. They still had several hours until Mama Donya's wake. "You want to try to sleep some more?" He murmured, fingers squeezing her hip subconsciously. He had a few other ideas of things they could do to pass the time if she would consent.
Helen slid her arms around Bucky's neck, "Maybe," She murmured, turning her face up so she could lock eyes with him. "I-I'm not sure this is the appropriate place to find out if I'm a screamer or not." She murmured, palming the back of his head to bring his face closer. "You may have to return the favor I just paid you." Then as if to prove her point, she pressed her lips to his. The kiss was slow, sloppy and held promises that they couldn't keep, not yet.
"I'm sure I can think of ways to keep you quiet." Bucky murmured against her jaw, just below her ear causing her to shiver. He couldn't believe his luck. Helen didn't seem at all averse to the idea of a deeper dive into their relationship. He slid his lips down her throat to gently bite her collarbone as his hands palmed her ass, bringing her body closer to his.
Helen whimpered, biting her lip. "B-Bucky," She panted. "I'm serious." She whined, "I'm not sure I can help it," she took a quick breath. "You do things to me t-that-" Her throat closed up and she swallowed. "I-I can't help it."
Bucky smirked against her skin and lifted his head to find Helen staring back at him. Intense desire dilated her pupils, her lips were plump from his kisses, her jaw pink from the stubble on his cheek. "You do things to me, too, Hel." He admitted quietly, his hand leaving her hip to slip under her tank top. He took a quick breath, "Let me help you forget that target, eh?" He offered, pressing a kiss to her ear, "Let's make a good memory instead."
Helen lay entangled with Bucky's sleeping form, Her head pillowed on his bare chest. She hadn't expected this assignment to result in such physical and emotional happiness. Goodness, she still had a long way to go. Being with Bucky had brought her further than she'd ever been able to heal by herself. She hoped that he was feeling the same way. She knew that his time in Wakanda had been a huge source of peace and healing, she hoped that their deepening relationship helped continue that for him and didn't pull him backwards.
Bucky slowly came awake, sensation came to him in waves. To his relief, Helen was still with him, curled into his side, head pillowed on his chest. He'd been able to swallow her cries of pleasure, keeping their coupling private in such an exposed feeling place. The last thing he needed was for Sam to razz him about sleeping with Helen. The thing was, this was more than sex. Goodness, she was incredible. He felt that his time in Wakanda had opened him up to be able to accept a woman like her into his life. If he hadn't been freed of The Winter Soldier programming, there was no way he would've gotten this close to her.
Helen sensed Bucky was awake by the way his breathing changed. She lifted her head so she could see if his eyes were open. She was anxious to know where they went from here.
"I'm awake." He confirmed, sleep coloring his voice. "You awake?" His arm tightened around her shoulders, fingers smoothing across her bare skin.
Helen laid her head down again, "Mmmmm." She hummed, snuggling into his chest. "Not yet." She mumbled. She felt really good. She hadn't slept that deeply in a long time.
Bucky smirked, kissing her temple. "Did we help replace that memory?" He shifted a little so he could see her face better in the late afternoon sun peaking through the drawn curtains.
Helen bit her lip. "Its a good start." She admitted, eyes fluttering open to find him leaned up on an elbow, staring down at her. "Hi." She blushed at the intensity of his gaze.
Bucky could feel the tension between them. Where did they go from here? He didn't make it a habit of exposing himself like this, physically or emotionally. He bent his head and kissed her softly. Helen responded by softly opening for him and he deepened the kiss. A soft knock at the door drew his eyes to the clock on the bedside table. They had about thirty minutes before the ceremony.
"You guys awake?" Sam asked through the door, jiggling the door knob.
Bucky was already diving for his bed, slipping under the covers as the door swung open and Sam poked his head inside.
Helen tucked herself under the covers and pretended to be still asleep, trying to control her laughter.
Bucky sat up and nodded to Sam. "Hey," He murmured sleepily, "I'll wake her up." He nodded to Helen's huddled form across the room.
"Sure thing," Sam smirked. He wasn't stupid, he knew there was definitely something going on between the two super soldiers. He gave Bucky a nod and closed the door.
Bucky breathed a sigh of relief. He quickly got dressed and turned to see Helen already mostly dressed, she seemed to be looking for something. "Looking for this?" He held up the tank top he'd tossed from the bed earlier.
Helen smirked, turning to find him giving her a self satisfied smirk. "You enjoyed that, eh?" She laughed, referring to his enthusiasm at stripping her of the garment earlier.
Bucky's lips twitched. "It was very enjoyable." He confirmed, tossing her the tank top. "Yes."
Helen bit her lip. "I enjoyed it, too." She murmured, slipping the top on.
Bucky slipped on his boots and shrugged on his jacket. Time to go to work.
Helen recoiled from John Walker as they waited for Sam to talk with Karli at Momma Donya's wake. "Don't fool yourself, John." She spat. "You're no Captain America."
John Walker crossed his arms, "You don't mean that, sweet cheeks."
Helen balked, "The Hell I don-"
Bucky was suddenly between them, facing Helen. "He's not worth getting worked up over, Hel." He took a step forward, putting some distance between her and Walker.
"So," Walker scoffed, "There is something between you two." He took a step back. "Figures."
Helen struggled for a moment against Bucky's grip on her biceps. "C'mon, Buck!" She protested through clenched teeth. "We should just kick his ass and take the damn shield." She murmured angrily, stepping back from him. "He's a monster." She crossed her arms and leaned against the brick building.
"I'm not arguing with you." Bucky's hands went wide in a surrender gesture. "Just don't know how well your pardon will hold up if you kick Captain America's ass." He mused, only half joking. He'd love to see her do that. Hell, he'd love to join her.
Helen sighed, biting her lip. He was right. "You're right." She admitted. "Anyway, Steve would want us to work together."
Bucky's eyes widened at the mention of Steve. He briefly wondered why she had such a familiar tone when speaking about him. Suddenly, his brow furrowed as he realized Walker had decided to go in after Sam. He put himself between Walker and the doorway, Helen just behind his left shoulder.
"This is all so easy for you, isn't it?" Walker mused, glancing between the two super soldiers. "All that serum, running through your veins."
Bucky's jaw clenched, remembering Helen's words about Steve. He didn't say anything, just kept himself between Walker and the door.
"Barnes," Walker took a step back. "Your partner needs back up in there." He paused, eyes narrowing a little. "You really want his blood in your hands?"
Bucky studied Walker for a moment before he just stepped aside, holding out his left arm to keep Helen behind him. "You go on in John," He relented. "You get Sam killed and that shield won't protect you." He warned.
Helen's jaw clenched. She knew things would get real ugly in a hurry if they didn't let Walker go.
"What, no protest this time?" Bucky scoffed, as they fell into step behind Walker and Lemar.
Helen's lips twitched. "Touché." She smirked, "Just figured you know what you're doing, Sarge." She shrugged, trying to keep from just jumping Walker and ending this all right now.
Bucky could tell Helen was having trouble controlling her anger. It had taken him a few years and his time in Wakanda to be able to let the rage amplified by the serum to flow through him rather than fuel him. "You good?" He asked, stopping her just inside the doorway as Walker announced his presence.
Helen looked up sharply, not expecting Bucky to read her so well. She just nodded, bumping elbows with him as all hell broke loose.
Karli did not react well to John Walker's sudden arrival. Looked like she didn't appreciate Captain America all that much either. Bucky shoved Lemar from behind so he could pursue Karli instead, Helen at his heels.
Bucky jumped up over the stair railing in pursuit, Helen right behind him. He hit the wall from the force of his jump, while Helen landed lightly on her feet next to him.
"Easy, Sarge." Helen snickered, grabbing his shoulder to pull him upright. Bucky huffed and nodded to her as they ran up the remaining steps.
Karli must've gone through a door and pulled it closed behind her because the hallway was eerily quiet.
"Damn," Helen swore, turning to an equally bewildered Bucky.. "Let's split up, cover more ground."
Before Bucky could protest, Helen was off, sprinting down a corridor. He clenched his jaw and sped off in the opposite direction.
Helen emerged from the hallway after a few twists and turns to find Karli coming down a set of stairs above her. Once Karli reached the bottom she realized Helen was there. Instead of standing her ground, Karli turned and fled. As she turned away, Helen caught sight of Zemo standing on the other side of the makeshift medical ward.
Things slowed down for Helen. One moment she was pursuing Karli, the next she threw herself in front of the young woman as Zemo raised his gun. The gun went off and Helen shoved Karli out of the way. White hot pain shot through Helen's hip as she fell to one knee.
Zemo continued firing and Karli overturned a table, knocking the serum tucked under her jacket loose, sending it scattering all over the tile floor.
Helen tried to focus on where Karli was in relation to Zemo to stop him from killing her. Zemo waxed philosophically about the serum and it's power before stomping on the remaining vials on the floor. Before he could make sure they were all destroyed, Cap's shield flew in and knocked him unconscious.
Helen's vision began to darken and she knew it wasn't long before she passed out from the blood loss. She didn't think she would die from the wound, it seemed superficial and had an exit wound on her lower back. She watched, helpless, as John Walker knelt next to an oxygen tank and pocketed the last vial of super serum.
Sam and Bucky appeared at the top of the stairs. Karli had managed to escape and Walker stood over an unconscious Zemo. Helen sat propped up against the window sill, struggling to stay awake.
"What'd we miss?" Sam asked, as the two heroes descended the stairs. Helen pushed herself up to her feet, only to fall to one knee again.
"Zemo shot Agent Turner." Walker explained, brushing past the newly arrived duo. "I knocked him out."
"What the hell?" Bucky scoffed, hoisting Helen up to sit her on the window sill so he could inspect her wound.
Helen hissed in pain. "Easy, Sarge." She murmured through clenched teeth, the hand that she'd pressed to her hip coming away covered in blood. "Not the first time and certainly not the last time I've been shot." She laughed bitterly.
The wound was clean, through and through and wasn't gushing blood. It looked like she might've started to heal already
"Zemo was shooting at Karli." Helen explained, "I couldn't let him hurt her." She clicked her tongue, "' sides, should be good as new in a couple of hours, right?"
Bucky just looked down at her for a moment, too angry to speak. If he hadn't let Zemo out of prison, this wouldn't have happened. His jaw clenched to keep him from roaring in outrage.
Helen reached up and cupped his cheek. "Don't." She chided. "Don't go and blame yourself, Buck." She let go of his face, head falling back against the glass. "You would've done the same damn thing."
She was right. That fact didn't make him feel any better though. He opened his mouth to protest further, but Sam cut him off.
"We need to go." Sam urged, helping Zemo get to his feet.
Bucky nodded, gathering Helen up in his arms.
Helen shook her head, insisting he put her down. "I'm alright, Sarge." She bit her lip, "Let's get out of here, yeah?" She gave him a wink, letting him hold on to her as they jogged out of the building, back to Zemo's flat.
Helen lay down, back in the bed her and Bucky had shared hours earlier. Her wound had closed and was currently itching like a mother fucker. She sighed and threw her arm over her eyes to block the setting sunlight coming through the curtains. They'd yet to really talk about what had happened between them. She bit her lip, thinking about the way her body responded to his. She'd never experienced quite that much physical pleasure when being with a partner before. She also felt emotionally close to him, which scared the hell out of her.
Helen had originally agreed to team up with Sam Wilson simply because he had been Captain Rogers' wingman. She trusted Cap's judgement. Cap had led the charge to save her from Hydra. After she was unthawed and had her mind restored, she'd joined SHIELD. After becoming an agent, she'd been able to properly thank Captain Rogers and get to know him better. He'd spoken often and quite fondly of Sergeant Barnes; she'd learned they were practically inseparable in their youth. It had grieved Steve terribly that Bucky had been weaponized by HYDRA. Then The Blip happened and he lost Bucky all over again. Helen was stationed overseas when the battle for Earth happened so she hadn't met up with the Avengers, she'd held down her own corner of the world. She'd returned to Brooklyn for a small hiatus, only to have Sam Wilson call and bring her back out into the field six months later.
Now, here she was, out in the field and emotionally compromised. Phil Coulson would be so proud. Helen's ears perked up as the door to the guest room whined open then clicked shut. The floor creaking was the only giveaway that Bucky was checking on her. She'd know his stride anywhere. Considering they'd only been working together for a few days, it scared her completely that she seemed to pick up on that shit.
"Hey, Sarge." Helen murmured, not moving her arm.
Bucky's breath caught. He didn't expect her to know it was him. Maybe Sam had wanted to check on her, they were friends too. "Hey, beautiful." He murmured back, sitting on the edge of the bed by her hip.
"Wound's closed, so we're almost back to normal." Helen informed him, moving her arm, blinking against the dimness. "Gonna have a kick ass scar for a while though." She chuckled, pushing up to her elbows, lifting her tank top to show him the rapidly healing wound.
Bucky smoothed a thumb over her wound, breathing a sigh of relief at the pink, not red line in her skin. Helen bit her lip and tried not to squirm too much at his touch. He'd given her a few stitches to help the wound close even faster. It didn't look infected and seemed to be healing well. He gently wrapped an arm around her waist to examine the exit wound on her back. It looked even better. He helped her settle back against the pillows. "You're at least lucky, doll." He sighed. "I'll give you that."
Helen could tell he was still angry. She sat up and scooted over so there was room for him to sit with her. "Sit for a second." She patted the space next to her.
Bucky opened his mouth to protest, but realized they probably didn't have much time. The Dora Milage was due to show up in about an hour. He palmed the back of his neck and settled against the headboard, next to her, lifting his arm so she could cuddle up next to him.
"Let me tell you about me and Captain Rogers." Helen offered. "Captain-uh, Steve-" She choked, her throat closing up. She cleared her throat and Bucky turned to her, wiping away the tear that had fallen on her cheek. "Steve was a great man." She sighed, "He saved me." She sighed. "More than once."
Bucky opened his mouth to speak but Helen shook her head and stopped him. "Wait." She insisted. "I need to say this."
Bucky nodded, settling against the headboard. "Alright, let's hear it." He encouraged her.
"Steve first saved me from HYDRA in 1944 on one of your Howling Commando raids."
Bucky clicked his tongue. "Actually," he bit his lip. "I was the one who carried you out of the lab to the evac."
Helen's breath stopped. "W-what?" She whispered, eyes wide.
"Yeah." Bucky confirmed. "I wasn't sure why when I saw you six months ago you looked so familiar." His fingers began playing in her hair, "Then I talked to Sam while you slept on the plane back from Munich." He took a quick breath. "He mentioned that you were an assassin for HYDRA before having your mind wiped completely a second time. Then I looked down at you and realized I'd carried you out of the facility to the evac." He clicked his tongue, "I also realized then that you probably thought SHEILD didn't know about your time as an assassin and that asshole Brian was blackmailing you with it."
Helen bit her lip. "Yeah," She shook her head, looking away. "Goodness, I was so scared that you would learn my secret." She barked a soft laugh, "I tried to keep you at arms length, but you're hard to ignore, Sarge." She smiled shyly.
Bucky smirked. "Back at ya, Hel." He dipped his head for a moment. "So, Steve stole my thunder, eh?" He scoffed.
"I mean," Helen scoffed back. "He was Captain America." She bumped her elbow gently in his ribs.
"Touche." Bucky chuckled, giving her a small, albeit, genuine smile.
Helen took a quick breath. "The other time, I had been the lone survivor of a failed mission." She swallowed thickly. "He convinced me to stay with SHIELD." She met his eyes for a moment, guilt clouding her features. "Even offered to make me an Avenger for a change of scenery."
Bucky's brows rose. "I guess we would've met a lot sooner then." He murmured.
"Yeah," Helen squinted a little, "but you had long hair then." She pursed her lips. "Not sure I'm into that so…"
Bucky rolled his eyes. "Oh here we go," he crossed his arms. "Here's where you tell me of your eternal love for Steve."
Helen's nose wrinkled. "Ew." She sniffed. "I mean, I loved Steve, like an annoying older brother." She explained to his utter disbelief. She shook her head. "No way in hell I'd ever get as close to him as I've gotten to you."
Bucky's breath caught at her confession. "You're just saying that because Steve's g-gone." He glanced sideways at her, not fully meeting her eyes.
"Nope." Helen sighed. "Now who has trust issues, eh?" She teased, only half joking. She could tell he was having a hard time believing her completely.
Bucky purses his lips. Before he could protest further, John Walker's voice reached his ears. "Fuck." He swore, sliding off the bed. "You rest, I'll handle this." He leaned down and dropped a quick kiss to the corner of her mouth.
Helen quickly reacted and palmed the back of his head, holding him close. She pressed her lips to his and nibbled at his bottom lip. Bucky responded by deepening the kiss before resting his forehead against hers for a moment. Before she could say anything, he was out the door.
Helen let go of the breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. That man was going to be the death of her.
Helen emerged from the guest room to find the Dora Milage currently giving John Walker and his partner a run for their money.
"Looking strong John!" Bucky called out over the scuffle.
Helen bit her lip to keep from laughing, moving to stand between Bucky and Sam.
"Bucky…" Sam warned, crossing his arms.
Bucky rolled his eyes and stepped in to stop Ayo from spearing Hoskins in the chest. "Ayo." Bucky protested, grabbing the spear. "Let's talk about this."
Instead of heading his call, Ayo spun and started swinging at Bucky. Helen stepped in and pushed Ayo back, engaging her in combat. Ayo must've known she was injured because she struck at Helen's hip, knocking her down to one knee.
"Hey!" Bucky shouted, stepping in front of Helen, putting himself between her and Ayo. "Enough of that!" He reached out and tried to take Ayo's spear. Ayo smirked and struck his left shoulder with the butt of her spear.
Bucky's mouth fell open in shock as his vibranium arm disengaged and dropped to the floor.
Ayo stepped back as her comrade pinned Walker and the shield to the table. Hoskin's was down for the count on the floor. Ayo glanced around and realized that Zemo was no longer in sight.
Bucky bent down and picked up his arm, Helen had regained her composure and helped hold his sleeve up so he could reinsert the arm. He glanced over at her and gave her a nod as she stepped away to inspect her wound.
"Did you know they could do that?" Sam asked, straightening his jacket.
Bucky pumped his left hand, grimacing at the sensation. "No," He grunted, swinging his arm to recalibrate it.
Helen's wound looked good, Ayo had just hit her hip bone, but had used her injury to make her defensive about the spot.
"I can't believe he pulled an El Chapo." Sam scoffed, motioning to the open sewer.
Bucky clicked his tongue. "I can." He jerked his head to the side, "C'mon, let's go."
After Karli called Sam' sister and threatened to meet with her, the trio met with her in an abandoned building. Sam had recruited Sharon to keep tabs on Walker, not trusting him to remain complacent in their search for Karli. Turned out his instincts were right.
Walker had stormed into a Flag Smashers compound, Hawkins by his side. The two must've gotten separated because Helen and Bucky had found Walker alone. Helen's breath caught as a super soldier fought with Walker and the imposter bent a steel beam the soldier had hit him with.
"Oh God." Helen breathed, exchanging a knowing glance with Bucky. Walker had taken the serum.
Lemar's death hit Helen like a ton of bricks. It had been a few years since she'd lost someone in the field. Walker's response left her reeling. She jogged alongside Bucky to the square where Walker had cornered one of the Flag Smashers. A large crowd gathered around the steps where Walker loomed over the soldier.
Helen covered her mouth in horror. Walker had pinned the super soldier to the ground and cracked open his chest with the shield, killing him brutally. Then the monster had the audacity to adjust his suit and pick up the bloodied shield. Helen took a step forward and Bucky's vibranium hand was instantly around her bicep.
"Not here, Hel." He knew what she was after. It was time to take the shield back.
Time for our heroes to claim what is rightfully theirs.
