On the Wings of a Hawk

So I've just finished Clone Wars and started watching Rebels. I got Inspiration for this story.

Disclaimer: Don't Own Star Wars

Rex woke up suddenly up from a dream he couldn't remember. Sitting up in his bunk he felt as if someone was calling his name. Making sure he was quite he stalked outta the barracks. Looking out over the stormy landscape of Kamino. He was due to ship out soon with his squad to help the Jedi against the Separatists. There was someone crouching out on the balcony. The wind tossing their dark cloak and their blue eyes glowed from underneath. Long wings were fanned out and he could barely make out the blue and the black with the white patterning in their wings. For once the storms parted and the person stood up. Their wings fanned out and they reached up and pulled back the hood bearing a blue symbol that struck him for some reason. He realized it was a woman. Her mint green hair kept in a long braid over her shoulder and her bangs whipped past her eyes.

"Who are you?" he called out.

'My name is Moira.'

Rex touched his head like he had a headache. She frowned for a moment and leapt down not even making a noise. She went to reach for him but pulled her hand back. Then stayed a short distance from him. Even though he could see she wanted to reach out for him.

"Rex?" she asked softly.

"How do you know my…"

She gave him a half-hearted smile. There was a kindness in her eyes that he didn't understand.

"I just do. It's something all the members of our Clan can do. Would you prefer me to call you by your designation?"

"You know…"

"CT-7567."

He saw her eyes flinch as she called out his designation. For some strange reason he didn't like her calling him that.

"Rex is fine. Where you the one calling me?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"You have a great destiny Rex."

"What are you?"

"I'm an assassin."

He tensed. And got into a fighting stance only to realize he was weaponless. A soft chuckle escaped her lips at his realization.

"Be calm I do not have a contract out on you. If I was going to kill you I would've done it in your sleep or in the midst of battle."

"Then why are you here?"

"I wanted to meet you."

"Me? Why?"

She leapt back up onto the railing. Her gaze drifted down further down there was another cloaked figure sitting on another railing talking to another Clone Trooper. This ones wings had red highlights.

"What is going on?"

"Rex," she murmured. "I want you to remember something."

"How do I know this isn't a trick?"

She shifted to sit on the railing. Two light sabers swung from each hip. He watched the white blade move as she sat there.

"I have nothing to gain by deceiving you Rex. Our Clan members have a destiny that makes us walk a similar path. I wanted to meet you before you're shipped out to join the Jedi."

She stood up quickly as the other one took off.

"Take this and I hope we meet again soon Rex."

She threw something at him and leapt off the balcony and vanished into the mist and spray of the ocean below them. He'd barely managed to catch what she'd thrown at him. It looked to be some kind of necklace. Cody ran up beside him and looked down into the waves.

"Did you see them too?"

"Yeah."

They looked at each other then back over the waves wondering what the heck had just gone down. They were the only two out here that had seen these woman.

"Should we mention this to someone?"

"Would anyone believe us?"

"I don't know."

"It's best you not mention this to anyone, gentlemen."

They turned and saw Shaak Ti standing there with her arms crossed over her chest.

"Commander?" Rex asked in confusion.

"If the Fates came before you and let you live then there's something going on under the surface."

"We shouldn't inform anyone?" Cody asked.

"I will speak to the council on this, but for now do not worry yourselves over their appearance."

"Moira said they were assassins."

"The Fates are Assassins from the planet Aras. Their kind bear facial markings of various colors, mint green hair and wings."

"Why would they come here and call to us?"

"Your fates are probably tied to theirs. I have also met such a person before. He was on a mission so he hadn't been able to speak with me."

Shaak Ti smiled softly at the Clones. "Return to the barracks gentlemen you have a big day tomorrow."

"Yes Commander."

They saluted her then she walked away. Rex looked at Cody.

"Probably do as the Commander said and put these thoughts away."

Rex headed back to his bunk as did Cody but their minds were on this chance encounter with this strange assassins. He lay in his bunk that night examining the charm that Moira had given him. It was a feather in a circle with a strange writing around the feather. The tip of the feather was tipped with some kind of blue metal that had an iridescently pearly tone in the feather almost like star light. His thumb ran over the words and wondered what it meant. Deciding he should keep it he put it around his neck to contemplate for a later day.
