An: Thank you all for reading. Special thanks to NymhadoraTonks and PowPow456 for reading and reviewing through it all! And thanks to readers Creator of Magic and Mia. I'm so excited to continue this series in the next and final installment of Donna's life in Forever Broken But Never Alone!

NymhadoraTonks: It really was a bittersweet ending. But don't worry, we'll have follow-ups on all the characters soon. Chester and Oakley will at least make a few appearances in FBBNA I think. I love them so much! Thank you for all your support!

Sky

Sky was a guest who reviewed a lot in the middle of Broken Legacy. They really inspired me to continue writing even though I thought I wasn't very good at the time. Sky and Mia were the start of my little Fanfiction family, and I'm grateful for you all. I haven't heard from Sky in almost a year, which makes me sad because this story was made for them. They had shown a deep passion for my characters Laura, Fauna, and Eliza. Sky inspired me to give them more personalities and a backstory, which led to this...

Sky, if you ever come back to these stories I would like you to know how much your kind words have pushed me to try to make my writing better. I'm so glad to have brought joy to you through these stories and I hope that I fulfilled the dream you had for your favorite characters.

As Donna closed the book, she hesitated to look up. It was over. She knew it all. After months of wondering, Donna knew it all. "It's strange to have months of torture summed up in a few paragraphs," Matt muttered.

"Was it true?" Donna suddenly asked. Matt raised a brow. "That you saw my face? My eyes?"

Matt didn't say anything. He reached over to the nightstand and pulled open its only drawer. Donna couldn't believe her eyes when he handed her the paper. It was done in a black pen, but Donna was staring into her own eyes. "I don't know how," Matt answered before she could even ask. "But it's true. Every word in that book is true. I had to admit, I had forgotten about the drawing for a bit. Then, it all came back piece by piece when...I met you."

Donna replayed the memory of their first encounters. How he had been a closed book at the start. Then there was the morning that changed everything. She had been too nosy, and he snapped. He had revealed his dyslexia. That was the first tip Donna had gotten from this complicated boy's past. That was the spark that started her flaming love for him.

She looked back up at Matt. She opened her mouth, but no words came out. "Are you alright?" he asked. Donna's gaze went back and forth from his eyes to his lips. She leaned forward and kissed him. Matt's hands dropped the drawing and carest her cheeks, deepening the kiss.

And at that moment, they felt as if all walls had been taken down between them. There was no going back now, and they were both alright with that.

"I'm sorry," Donna told him again as they parted.

"All is forgiven," Matt tucked her hair behind her ear. "Just the next time you find a book that has my written thoughts in it, a heads up would be nice."

Donna laughed. "I don't think I'll find another book, but I won't hesitate to tell you."

"How did you find it, anyway?" Matt picked the book up and set it in his lap.

"It appeared in my bed," Donna shrugged. "It was really strange."

"Do you think there's more?" Matt ran his fingers down the spine. "It looks as if it was part of a series."

"What makes you say that?"

"Well, the fact that it's got all the fancy lettering on the sides and the decals at the top. They run off as if they connect with something else." Donna peered where he was pointing. He was right, the swirling decal ran off the spine. This one had symbols. A fall leaves, a mouse, a symbol of the Sapphire Sorcerer, a pair of cat eyes, and half of a teacup.

"Strange," Donna commented. "What if there are more?"

"I don't want them to be found," Matt shook his head. "What if they get into the wrong hands?"

"Wrong hands? I'm pretty sure our time of warfare is over."

"What if they have a testament of your possession?" Matt asked in a serious tone. "What if Molly leaked it onto her show. Do you really want every detail of your life to be public?"

"But how could anyone have that in detail?" Donna couldn't wrap her mind around it.

"I was wondering if it had something to do with narrators."

"Narrators?" Donna raised her brows. "Those voices your mom hears."

"You've been around her," Matt shrugged. "I think she's right. Our stories are being told and recorded somewhere."

"But where?"

That's where Matt was stumped. "I'm not sure. Maybe it's a realm far away from here."

"Or maybe it's not far at all," Donna bit her lip. It was an eerie feeling, knowing that someplace, someone was watching them. "What should we do with it? We can't tell Ally."

"We can't tell anyone," Matt shook his head. "I know we shouldn't keep secrets but this is not our secret in the first place."

"We should hide it then."

"Well, I don't want anyone else to find it myself," Matt shrugged. "It's hard because I also don't feel like it's up to me."

"What do you mean?" Donna asked. "Those are your personal thoughts."

"They're only part of the story. There are five other perspectives in here. Well, five that are still alive."

"So what are we going to do? Just let them know we're keeping a book that contains their thoughts? We don't even know where Felicity is. And Eliza...I haven't seen her for days. She must really be mad about this."

Matt's face suddenly paled. He then stood up. "Come on. Get a coat."

Donna was confused as Matt handed her one of his winter jackets. She put it on, hesitating to zip it. He didn't say a word as he threw his own coat. Tucking his book under his arm, Matt reached and zipped up Donna's coat. "Just trust me," he told her before taking her hand. "I think...I feel...her."

"Feel her?" Donna raised a brow.

"I'm getting a read like... I could before the accident. I can read her," Matt suddenly led her out of the room.

She didn't realize where they were going until they went out the front doors of Ever After. Trudging through the piled snow, Donna could feel her shoes getting wet. They carried on until they saw Eliza standing in the graveyard. The dark bare trees, the grey gravestones, and the white snow made the sight look like a still picture. Her red hair was the only smidge of color in the scene.

Matt took a deep breath. Letting go of Donna's hand, he walked into the graveyard without Donna. Donna stood there, frozen in place just like Eliza. "Eliza," he called to her.

Eliza jumped to life at his call. Her watery grey eyes flickered to take in the company behind her. "What do you want now?" she asked when her eyes settled on Donna. She looked as if she had not slept in days.

"I want you to know that I forgive you," Matt said evenly. Eliza's expression immediately softened.

"What?" was all that could escape her mouth.

"I forgive you," Matt told her. "I was never mad at you. I think I understood, back then."

"How could you forgive me?" Eliza was in pure shock. Donna had no clue what was happening.

"Because that's what happens when you put the past behind you," Matt took another step.

"Why should I put the past behind me? I hurt you, Fauna, and Laura." Eliza asked. "Apparently, it was all lies according to that book. I thought I knew what was going on, but I didn't. I was what caused the end for Laura. If I hadn't stepped close to that flame everything would've been fine."

That was when Donna saw the blade. It was small, like a pocket knife. Eliza was holding it close to her body.

"Laura was hungry for power from the start," Matt assured. "If it weren't you then it would've been someone else. What if she was struck by the Evil Queen first?"

"Then she would've gotten what she wanted," Eliza muttered, turning away. "But I took that away from her." Matt looked like he was out of words.

"She wouldn't have died a hero!" Donna yelled. Eliza froze, Matt gave her a questioning look. "Laura may not have told you everything, but she still cared about you."

There was another long pause. Donna took a few steps forward. "Laura could've taken her with you, that day on top of the Queen of Heart's castle. But she saved you. You betrayed her, you helped me, and she still decided to save you." She passed Matt. "Laura told me to look after you, to remind you that she is here. If she were here she would be telling you to live. Don't do this to her. Please don't do this to her."

Eliza stared at Donna's pleading eyes for a long while. They were face to face now. Donna didn't dare look down at the knife. She simply was showing Eliza she was there for her. It was the only thing she could do. Eliza's eyes searched Donna's face wearily. Donna could feel the conflict in her thoughts. Then she heard the knife slip from Eliza's hand.

Before Donna could even glance back up at Eliza, she was wrapped in an embrace. Eliza shook in Donna's arms. Donna pressed her face against Eliza's shoulder. "It's okay," she whispered. "It's gonna be okay."

"What was I thinking?" Eliza asked her.

"You were out of your mind. But you're back now," Donna assured. "You haven't been back for a while, but now...you're home." Donna gazed over at Matt as Eliza continued to sob. His eyes were trained on the book in his hands. His skin had turned white.

Eliza pulled away from Donna, noticing the exchange.

"Destroy it," Eliza whispered. Matt didn't even glance up. "Destroy that book before it hurts anyone else."

That was when Donna saw what Matt was staring at. The cover was fading. Donna sprinted to him, igniting her hand with flames. She would burn the book if she had to. She threw the book out of Matt's hand and slammed her firey fist to it. The book ignited with the purple flames, but it did not burn. The golden decals were the first to melt into the ground.

The book tossed itself open. Every page leaked letters and words. The letters made roots around the firey book, melting the snow to dig into the ground. The roots swirled around Donna, Matt, and Eliza's feet. Loud voices began to read various selections of the story, overlapping each other. When the pages became empty, the letters slowly sunk into the ground. The voices became small whispers, getting quieter every second.

Then, there was nothing but a blank burning book. Frightened, Donna stared at the fire as it destroyed what was left of the mysterious story. Only beginning to wonder what her world was truly made of.

The figure hadn't expected that to happen. She didn't think they would ever destroy it. Luckily, the letters had sunk back down to her, where they could file back onto pages of a new book she had been writing. The magical feather worked quickly to put it all back into place while she recorded the rest of what had just occurred. "Oh, Donna, if only you knew," she said to herself.

When the feather finished, the figure flipped through the pages of Broken Souls. There were now new segments of Donna's view included in the story. The girl grinned as she noted the new decals on the binding. It had changed when Donna began to read it because now it was part of her story. It hadn't been planned, but sometimes surprises make the best stories.

Still grinning, the figure turned to the shelf and placed the book next to Broken Legacy. Picking up the final storybook, she wondered what would be in store for the final pages of Broken Destinies.

What?! Broken Souls was not part of this series!

It seems that this writer has a little rebellious side of her own

Yes, but who is she? Will Donna discover who has been writing about her and her friends?

Only time can tell if this new beginning will have an end...

END OF BROKEN SOULS
