Lol, I just realized that I wrote a report for science class a while ago and now every time I type 'laptop' it automatically changes to 'lab top'. So sorry if you spotted mistakes like that in my fic.
Okay I realized I left out a very important part from last chapter and I'm going to write it now. So this is a continuation of Girl's night.
Disclaimer: I own nothing.
Rachel sat on the couch, next to Hazel, as she typed on her labtop. She was scrolling through YouTube when a notification caught her eye. Unable to believe her eyes, she quickly found the video she posted earlier that day. It was just a fun thing she did in a spur of a moment and completely forgot about it later.
"You guys need to see this!" The girls crowded around her, wondering what's going on.
"Guess what, Kat? You've gone viral."
The dark haired girl's face was blank for a second, devoid of all expression as she slowly processed the words and what was on the screen. As if making up for the lack of emotions, her face suddenly went from disbelieving to shock to uncertain to Idon'tknowhowIfeelaboutthis to happy in a second.
"Holy cow! How did this happen?" She asked, as if she still thought her eyes deceived her.
"I don't know." Rachel shrugged. "YouTube can be like that sometimes. One moment you are just another anonymous nobody and the next moment you're viral."
"Oooh! I have an idea!" Alice exclaimed. All eyes fell on her. "You should start a YouTube channel!"
"Yeah, Kat! That's a great idea! I'm betting ten bucks that you'll be YouTube famous!" Hazel bobbed her head up and down in excitement. The other girls chimed in, agreeing to the idea.
"I don't know..." Kat looked uncertain. "Why me? I'm not the only one in that video? If anything it's Remus who should be starting a channel."
Marlene sighed exasperatedly and put her hands on the dark haired girl's shoulder. "I've went to the same high school as your roommates. I know them. Remus isn't the outgoing kind of person. I'm a hundred percent sure he would write an extra essay than to do something like post a YouTube video. James and Sirius are idiots. They would've wrecked the channel and they don't have the energy to keep up with such thing. Knowing them, they would start it all excitedly but be too lazy or just flat out forgot about it in two weeks. I don't know about your blonde friend, but he doesn't seem like the YouTuber type."(pjo joke, sorry but couldn't resist) Marlene giggled as she remembered something. "Besides, you are the only one who brought a camera to college."
Annabeth laughed. "Well you're right about that. Anyways, we need a name for your YouTube channel. Any ideas?"
Annabeth used to think studying was the most important thing in the world. When you study well, you get into good college. When you get into good college, you get a good job. When you get a good job, you will live a good life. Period. Coming to HBU had changed a lot of that. It put her life into perspective. What's the point of living a good life when you don't have fun? Annabeth learned to drop her seriousness and just have fun. Enjoy being an adolescent for a little longer. After all, you only live once.
She snapped out of her own musing as the other girls came up with possible names.
"HBU gurl."
"Kit Kat O'Hara."
"The Wildkat."
"Cheshire Kat."
"Wait, wait, stop." Kat held up her hands as if trying to freeze everyone. "I kind of like the way the last two sounds." She mused to herself for a moment before slamming one fist into the palm of her other hand. "I got it! Let's combine the two."
"The Wild Cheshire Kat?" Piper suggested.
"Perfect!" Rachel said as she opened Katlyn's laptop. Going on YouTube, she made another account and added a basic description. "Choose a profile pic, Kat."
And that is how TheWildCheshireKat was created.
Lily's POV (I'm trying something new, called a first person POV. If this works, later chapters might be written this way as well)
It was two weeks since the girl's sleepover, and school was going great. I wanted to be a lawyer, bring justice and making things right. Help the good people gets off while the bad guys get arrested, that kinda stuff. But before I could do that, I had to take a lot of classes, from politics to intro to American Laws to motivational speaking. True, there was a lot of work but overall I liked it.
My last class ended at two thirty, leaving me free for the rest of the day. I exited the lecture hall, deciding between going to the library to get an head start on my project or grabbing a snack at Bombilo's. All of those options vanished as I saw Frank (Longbottom) and an older girl, maybe in her sophomore year, walking down the path, talking about something as they shoved each other playfully.
They came to a stop before me. "Hey, Lily. Me and Amelia, my best friend who's part of the student government here, are on our way to the STUGO meeting. Heard they're looking for new members on the board. You wanna come along?" Frank asked, nodding his head towards one of the buildings.
I looked up, surprised. I remembered the flyer I got on my first day of class, but had completely forgotten about it. "It's today?" I asked, trying to remember the date.
"Yep." Frank nodded. "So you coming?"
When I was in middle school, I was part of the student council- secretary. It was nice, arranging events and field trips, helping out with the elementary school, planning activities for the weekly assembly with the fellow members. It had given me a taste of leadership and responsibility. There was no way I'm missing this opportunity.
"Sure."
We arrived at the building twenty minutes later. It was the same building in which I had some of my classes. However, I was mildly surprised as they started to walk up to the fourth floor. I had only been on the first three floors before, the fourth floor looked entirely different. It had small meeting rooms along the side and dozens of file cabinets lining up against the other. The middle of the room was divided into two sections, one looked like a real court where you judge and solve cases. The other half consisted of a long table with random papers, books, and graphs scattered all over the place.
I could've sworn there was a jelly bean jar somewhere in that mess.
Most of the people, either their to attend the meeting or are members of STUGO, were gathered the 'court' side. Amelia went to join the other members and got ready to organize meeting, I took a seat beside Frank.
After five minutes of waiting, the meeting started when a tall, scrawny blonde cleared his throat. "So welcome to this STUGO meeting. During this meeting. We will talk about what STUGO does for the student body, what is necessary to be part of STUGO: traits like responsibility, maturity, thoughtfulness, the ability to keep calm at all times, selflessness, offering help towards other students, fairness-"
His rant was rudely cut off by another boy. He was also blonde, though his hair was longer and he carried an air of purpose.
"Octavian, that is enough. No need to bore these people with all that useless stuff." His eyes swept over the crowd below coldly. I frowned, these were important, not useless.
"This meeting is the only meeting that is open to none members. Here, you will decide if you're worth being part of STUGO. There is a lot of work and planning behind. We have to deal with tricky things and have a low budget. There will be weekly meetings to discuss areas where we can improve. What I am trying to say is that if you don't feel like you're capable of doing all the work or skipping your free time to attend boring meetings then you can get out of here. STUGO is clearly not for you." His icy gaze once again swept over us. I saw half the people here leave quickly, trying to not get noticed. Now there's only about twenty people left.
"How uptight." Frank murmured beside me. I stifled a laugh, agreeing. The blonde boy seemed to notice and glared my way. I quickly ducked my head. What a great first impression.
Octavian looked like he wanted to get a word in, but the other blonde guy wouldn't let him. They had a quick glaring contest where Octavian lost. The second blonde was very good at glaring. Must be all he does in his spare time. He probably sat in front of a wall and practiced his glaring when he had nothing else to do. There would be a metal chair in front of his wall and a sign saying wall of doom and gloom ahead, do not interrupt during intense glaring session. I whispered my random idea to Frank and we had a hard time trying to not crack up. And guess what the blonde glaring master did? He glared at us.
Oops. Guess I'll at least try to be good.
The meeting continued as the blonde boy, whose name I learned later was Lucius, talked about they things they did last year, events they planned, ways to improve the 'college experience'. Amelia and another red headed boy scrolled through a PowerPoint as they talked. Octavian occasionally butted in with more information, which earned an elbow jab from Lucius(Octavian just sneered at that, like he was used to it). They were half way through with explaining how STUGO works and what jobs each person was when the door opened and two dark haired boys walked in.
I wrinkled my nose. If it isn't James Potter and Sirius Black, the two bigoted, egotistical idiots, arriving fashionably late. Having everyone's attention on them as usual.
"Hey everyone! Sorry if we're running a little late. Sirius wanted ice cream. Don't mind us, just go on." James called out, waving his arms apologetically, his grin never faltering. The nerve of him! What makes he think he can just strut in like it's nobody's business. This is a formal meeting for Godric's sake. How thick can his head even be!
Frank was looking at me, a little shocked and impressed. The silence in the room told me that my mental rant had not been in my head at all. James and Sirius stood frozen in their place at my outbreak, looking like they want to make a run for it. I sat down embarrassed, not even realizing that I had stood up. My face flushed to the same shade as my hair when I realized all eyes were train on me.
Oh, how I hate James Potter. (And Sirius, but mainly James)
Maybe I'm imagining things, but Mr. Lucius Glarealot looked kind of impressed. A girl with dark hair worn in a braid a few rows behind me gave a low whistle.
I suddenly found the desk in front of me very interesting. All those different patterns in the wood...
Lucius had just finished explaining how to sign up if you wanted to join the STUGO team. It was simple, Octavian did a demonstration on his laptop (projected onto the wall) on how to find the sign up sheet on the official school website. You just have to submit a form on basic information (name, major, etc.) and why you should be picked (there were only five positions). In twenty four hours, you will be informed of a date and time where you can get an interview with one of the members. If that goes well, you're in.
After that, the meeting ended. I immediately..how would Rachel put it? High tailed? Yeah, I immediately high tailed it out of there to prevent further embarrassment.
James Potter had completely ruined my chances of being part of the STUGO team.
That idiot will pay.
I realized that I haven't updated in about ten days. Yeah, sorry. I was scrolling through the millions of communities to look for a particular one (because I don't think you can search for it, or even if you can, I don't know how...) after an hour of my eyes bleeding, I found the one I was looking for! Yay! It was a Nico/OC community. I was itching for fics that makes me cringe (I'm weird like that, lol).
So aside from being too lazy, convinced my writing sucked, reading (and cringing at) other fics, there's no reason why I didn't update.
Again, sorry.
Anyways, I Apollo-gize in advance for all spelling and grammar mistakes, this chapter is not edited simply because I have another fic and it has not been updated for a loong time.
So yeah, I heard reviews get you faster chapters. You should try that.
