Unknown Forest
Pain. And a very bad headache is what woke Alex up from the floor he was currently laid out on. He takes a second to survey the area he now finds himself in.
Wait a minute this isn't the Midnight Forest.
While indeed the forest looked the same Alex had gone into that forest numerous times with the rest of his team, Team Guardian. This forest was darker than Midnight Forest and the trees were drabier. It was then Alex noticed something crucial
I'm human again?
Just before his recent blackout, Alex was once the Pokemon known as Monferno, a monkey-like creature with a flaming tail. Alex inspects his new body before realizing he looks pretty normal now wearing a white t-shirt and an orange jacket vest with a pair of orange shorts and shoes. He also realized he had a tail.
That's new. Didn't know humans could have tails
A groan alerted him to the fact that he wasn't alone here. He looked around and saw a dark-skinned girl wearing a beige and brown crop-top and a brown skirt. She also had brown fingerless gloves and beige socks and orange shoes. But the trait that really caught his attention was the pair of Vulpix ears on her head.
Wait… Vulpix ears? Is that-
"Eva? Is that you?"
The girl turned to Alex before smiling
"Yeah, it's me. But why are you human?" Eva asked
"I have no idea but whatever happened to me also happened to you. Now we just need to find Rex and Kaiser and we should be okay since we were all together before getting I guess blasted over here."
As Alex was finishing that thought. Two more people came to them.
"There. See Rex I keep telling you I would find them. I have-" One said
"Yeah, yeah aura sensing abilities I get it Kaiser" The one named Rex interrupted
Kaiser was a fair-skinned young blue-haired boy wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt and black pants with a yellow scarf. He also seemed to have Riolu ears. Rex on the other hand was a dark-skinned kid and wore a light blue hoodie and dark blue jeans and gloves the same colour as his jeans he also had a Luxio's tail. They formed the rest of Team Guardian
"Now very important question," Rex said "Anyone knows where the heck we are?"
"I can answer that," A very familiar voice said. The group turned to see two portals opening up, one blue and one pink. Out of the portals came the legendary Pokemon Dialga, God of Time and Palkia, God of Space.
"We have transported the four of you here because we have sensed a dark force in this world. It is related to something from our world but we aren't sure exactly what it is." Palkia told the team.
"Well that would explain why we're here but can you at least tell us where we are and why we still have Pokemon parts," Eva asked
So the Gods told them. To start they were in the world of Remnant, a world inhabited by creatures called Grimm that were attracted to negative emotions and that there are some people in the world known as Huntsmen who kill these Grimm. The Gods also told them about the races in this world, Humans and Faunus. Faunus were basically humans with animal traits and since Team Guardian used to be Pokemon they just obtained parts of the pokemon they used to be. The Gods then explained about aura and Semblances. Aura was like a forcefield of sorts, a method that would take damage for a person and that Kaiser's Aura Sensing abilities would still work with them. Semblances were abilities that people in this world had. Each member of Team Guardian had their own Semblance. Alex could amplify his body with flames or simply just cover his entire body in fire similar to using a Flame Wheel. Eva could also use fire but could produce and launch fire from her body. Rex could control electricity and mimic certain attacks like the Thunder Fang with his hands. Kaiser could manipulate aura to create his attacks like Aura Sphere and Bone Rush. They finally explained Dust the resource used in this world in both its weapons and for energy
"There is a school on this island that you must attend" Palkia told them
"And why do we have to go to a school exactly" Rex questions
"It's quite simple really. Normally we would have you go to Beacon Academy, however, sending you to such a school wouldn't work as its level of security can be quite high" Dialga explains
(A/N: I know Ruby get to go there even though she's 15 but listen I think the Gods would be a little more careful than that)
"This school is known as Signal Academy, a school that trains Huntsmen and Huntresses and for you to be able to take down this dark force from our world we believe that becoming Huntsmen is the best idea."
Team Guardian agreed with this suggestion though Rex wasn't exactly pleased with the idea of going to school he went along with it anyway.
And so to Signal they went and for the next 4 years, they learned more about the world they now inhabited. Their favourite part, however, specifically for Rex was when they got the chance to forge their own weapons. Alex made a red longsword with the blade and hilt being orange. This long sword would also turn into an assault rifle. This weapon was named the Blazing Blade. Eva went for a brownish katana with an additional feature that let it launch fire dust projectiles. She named it the Flaming Empress. Rex made blue and navy twin scimitars who both turned into pistols and them the Kadachi Claws. Finally, Kaiser made a black staff that turned into a shotgun. He named it the Aura's Guardian.
Now finally after 4 years of classes, Team Guardian applied for Beacon and will head there this year.
Outside From Dust Till Dawn
Team Guardian, now 17 years old, made their way through the streets of Vale making small talk about what going to Beacon is going to be like but as they make their way past From Dust Till Dawn, the store window shatters and a man in a black suit is launched outwards followed by a girl wearing black and red with a red hood. The girl then proceeded to unfold the biggest scythe any member of the team had ever seen.
"Holy Arceus! She wields that how?" Rex exclaims.
"We come from a world where we're animals that can control the elements and this is what surprises you?" Kaiser deadpans.
Another man with ginger hair walks out of the store with more henchmen following him.
"Okay… Get her!" The man orders
The henchmen rush the girl who effortlessly fights them off.
"You were worth every cent. Truly, you were." the man says "Well, Red I think we can say it's been an eventful evening, and as much as I'd love to stick around, I'm afraid this is where we part ways" The man fire a shot from his cane at the girl who uses the recoil from her weapon to jump above the shot when the girl lands the man is gone.
"Do we… help her?" Eva asks "I mean she seems fine by herself but still"
"I doubt it would hurt to give her some assistance" Kaiser states "So which one of us is gonna do it?"
As Team Guardian discusses this the girl follows the man towards the roof he's climbing up to.
"I'll go," Alex says "After all, I'm the best at climbing" He then heads off to catch up with the girl and the escaping man.
"You just love rubbing that in don't you Alex!?" Rex yells after him
"Of course!" Alex yells back
The girl uses her weapon to leap up the building while Alex climbs up the ladder with ease.
"Who're you?" the girl asks Alex
"Not important right now we got a bad guy to stop" Alex responds as he draws the Blazing Blade.
"Fair enough. But you gotta tell me about that weapon later!" the girl says "Hey!"
The man looks behind him. "Persistent" he states.
An airship starts to rise past the building and the man climbs in the airship.
He then looks down at the girl and Alex.
"End of the line to the both of you!"
He then throws down a fire dust crystal before aiming at it with his cane
"Oh shit!" Alex exclaims
The man fires and an explosion from the crystal goes off. The man laughs but when he looks down the pair has been protected by a Huntress who then proceeds to bombard the airship with her Semblance. The man inside the airship runs towards the cockpit where a black-haired woman is driving
"We got a Huntress!" he says.
The woman heads towards the airship door while the man goes to drive. During this, the Huntress creates a cloud above the ship that drops ice shards on the airship disorienting it. The black-haired woman launches fire at the Huntress who blocks it with her Semblance. Then the aftereffect of the flame is used to blast upwards which the Huntress dodges. The Huntress uses the debris from the blast to create a spear-like projectile and fires it at the airship which is deflected by fire from the black-haired woman. The Huntress then retaliates by using the remains of the first spear to make several more but they are all destroyed by an explosion of fire from the black-haired woman. The girl turns her weapon from scythe mode to gun mode and Alex does the same and they both begin to fire at the woman who manages to block most of the shots before she finally aims several pillars of fire underneath the trio on the roof. The three are forced to avoid it and the airship door closes and flies away.
"Well, crud." Alex says "That didn't go as cleanly as I would've hoped"
The girl turns to the Huntress that saved them.
"You're a Huntress!" she exclaims "Can I have your autograph?!"
Alex shakes his head and then climbs down the building and rejoins the rest of Team Guardian.
"How'd it go?" Rex asks
"You saw that ship right? The dude got away." Alex replies
"Where's the girl?" Kaiser asks
"Still up on the roof with that huntress that helped us." Alex responds "Besides no time to worry about that now don't we go to Beacon in like 2 weeks?"
(A/N again: There's no exact time frame between the Dust shop robbery and Ruby on the Bullhead to Beacon so I just went with 2 weeks)
2 Weeks Later
"Oh, I'm so glad my baby sister is going to Beacon with me!" Yang Xiao Long says while hugging her sister, Ruby Rose "This is the best day ever!"
"Please stop…" Ruby croaks out
"But I'm so proud of you!"
"Really Sis, it was nothing."
"What do you mean? It was incredible! Everyone at Beacon is going to think you're the bee's knees."
Ruby sighs "I don't want to be the bee's knees okay? I don't want any kind of knees. I just want to be a normal girl with normal knees."
"What's with you? Aren't you excited?" Yang asks
"Of course I'm excited. I just" Ruby pauses "I got moved ahead two years. I don't want anyone thinking I'm special or anything"
"But you are special," Yang says as she put her arm over her sister's shoulder
'The robbery by the nefarious criminal Roman Torchwick, who continues to evade authorities. If you have any information on his whereabouts please contact the Vale Police Department. Back to you Lisa'
'Thank you, Cyril. In other news, this Saturday's Faunus Civil Rights protest turned dark when members of the White Fang disrupted the ceremony. The once peaceful organization has now disrupted…' the new report is cut off has a hologram of the Huntress that helped Ruby last night appears
"Hello and welcome to Beacon," she says
"Who's that?" Yang asks
"My name is Glynda Goodwitch."
"Oh."
"You are among a privileged few who have received the honour of being selected to attend this prestigious academy. Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now, it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world" Glynda concluded her speech and the hologram disappears
As the airship approaches Beacon the future students take the time to look at the view
"Wow!" Ruby exclaims "Look! You can see Signal from up here! I guess home isn't too far after all."
"Beacon's are home now," Yang tells her.
For one blond-haired boy, the view wasn't all that and he ended leaving to the bathroom to throw up.
"Well, I guess the view isn't for everyone," Yang says
"It was a nice moment while it lasted." Ruby concours
"I wonder who we're gonna meet."
"I just hope they're better than Vomit Boy. Oh, Yang gross! You have puke on your shoe"
"Gross, gross, gross, gross…"
"Get away from me! Get away from me!"
10 Minutes Later
"Well damn. I knew this place was huge but this?!" Rex exclaims. "This place is GIGANTIC!"
Team Guardian had recently made touchdown on Beacon's campus and were gawking at the sight of Beacon. Which was quite impressive, to say the least.
"I'm honestly curious on how they built this place" Kaiser states.
"So… anyone wanna place bets on how easy this place is to get lost in?" Alex jokes
"If that size is anything to go by it would make the Crystal Cave look simple," Eva replies
"Still we're here and we're gonna make the most-" Alex is cut off by an explosion of fire, ice and electric dust. "The heck?"
At the center of the explosion were two girls. The girl that Alex saw during Torchwick's robbery and a white-haired girl. The white-haired girl was currently yelling at the younger one.
"Unbelievable! This is exactly what I was talking about!" The white-haired girl ranted
"I'm really sorry…"
"Ugh! You complete dolt! What are you doing here? Aren't you-"
"Y'know princess some people aren't really okay at you yelling at them for an accident."
Both girls turn to see Alex walking up to them.
"And besides it's not like the rest of us want to hear you screeching anyways." Alex pauses "So here's what we can do you can apologize for yelling and she apologizes to you for bumping into you. Is that okay with you princess?"
The white-haired girl was about to answer before another voice joined in
"It's heiress actually." says the black-haired girl with a black bow who walked up to them "Weiss Schnee heiress of the Schnee Dust Company, the largest Dust manufactures in the world."
"Finally some recognition." The now named Weiss turns pointedly at the younger girl and Alex, the latter of whom rolls his eyes. But the black bowed girl wasn't done
"The same company known for its controversial labour forces and questionable business partners"
Weiss begins to stammer in rage before grabbing the vial of just in the black bowed girl's hand and storming off.
"I promise I'll make it up to you!" the younger girl shouts after her. "I guess I'm not the only one having a rough first day. So what's-" she turned around to see that the black bowed girl had already left but Alex was still standing there who extends his hand.
"Alex Inferno. Nice to meetcha"
"Ruby Rose. And uh thanks for helping me with her." Ruby shakes his hand
"Hey, no problem." Alex then turns to the rest of team Guardian "C'mon guys don't just stand there like idiots!"
Rex and Eva both roll their eyes at the statement but they come over anyway.
"Ruby these are my friends: Eva Kitsune, Rex Sunder and Kaiser Hakai," Alex says.
"Sup" Rex says.
"Hello" Eva introduces
"Glad to meet you," Kaiser says
"At least there are people you know here" Ruby grumbles. She then looks back at Alex "Hey weren't you the guy who came to help with Roman."
Alex nods "Yep that was me."
"CanyoushowmeyourweaponitlookedreallycoolandIwannasee-" Ruby begins speaking very quickly before Kaiser put a hand on her shoulder
"You talk really fast." He deadpans
Ruby blushes in embarrassment "Sorry…"
Alex chuckles "I've dealt with worse so sure I can so you." He draws the Blazing Blade "This is the Blazing Blade, made this thing myself."
"Despite it not having any sort of innate fire usage he named it Blazing Blade." Rex snarks
Alex glares in Rex's direction "Why are you the way that you are?"
"Easy, because I can," Rex replies
Alex facepalms while Ruby giggles at the banter between them.
"Anyways" Alex continues, "You'll get to see the rest of my weapon later"
"But first let me show you this thing," Ruby says as she unfolds her scythe.
"I will still ever get how she wields that thing," Rex remarks.
"That is a little much for just a scythe don't you think?" Eva asks.
"Well it's also a customizable, high-impact sniper rifle," Ruby says before noticing the surprised looks on Team Guardian's faces. "It's also a gun."
"Just damn." Rex says "I've seen some wacky stuff before but that is on a whole nother level."
"I am kind of a dork when it comes to weapons so I may have gone a little overboard when designing it."
That got Kaiser's attention "You're from Signal aren't you?" he questions
Ruby nods "Yeah. How'd you guess?" She pauses "Wait, you four are from Signal?"
"Yes we are" Eva replies "But aren't you like 2 years behind us?"
Ruby rubs the back of her head "Well, I was kinda let in 2 years early"
"Impressive," Kaiser states "So you must be pretty good then."
"We had to go through the entire time of those classes and you got to skip two years?" Rex complains "now that just ain't cool"
Alex flicks Rex with his tail and glares at him. Rex rolls his eyes in response and lashes his tail as he does when annoyed. Ruby notices his tail.
"Hey uh Rex, why does your tail have a star on it?" She asks
Rex freezes for a second. "It has something to do with my Semblance" He answers
"Oh, so what is it?" Ruby presses
Rex smirks, "You might see it during Initiation"
"And we won't even get a chance to go to Initiation if we don't get to the auditorium," Kaiser says.
Ruby nods. "Yeah, that makes sense. So let's go!"
Ruby rushes off to the entrance to Beacon while Team Guardian stays behind for a short while.
"She seems nice," Eva says. "And from what we saw during that robbery she's a pretty good fighter."
"Her aura seemed genuine" Kaiser states. "So I highly doubt she's the dark force we were sent to look for"
"We'll worry about that later," Alex tells them but for now we got a combat school to go to"
