Welcome back everyone to the next chapter of Tales of Tamers Xilla. We have finally reach the last chapter of the first story art the Beginnings arc. Recap
Last time on Tales of Tamers Xilla, our band of misfits were able to escape Jiao in the Deepwood and made it to Sharilton. There they ran into some old friends of Takato, Driselle Rowen and Cline. They learn for Cline that the king of Rashugal Nachigal has order the people of Sharilton into service and was behind the experiments at La forte. That didn't sit well with Cline as he went to confront the king in the Bermia gorge. Meanwhile Takato met with his sensei Yoruichi and told her what he been up to. But then the gang was ask by Rowen to help save Cline and the town people. They venture to the gorge and were able to free everyone but free a combine spirit as well. They were able to best the monster, but in the aftermath Takato have a vision of a girl that make his heart ache. This was another matter for him to think about as the crew return to Sharilton.
Chapter 7
Into the fort of heart break
Takato POV. We were escorting Cline and the people back to town, so they can recover form having their mana drain. But my mind was on the vision I have back in the cave. Or more so on the girl I saw in it. Even though I couldn't make out her face, i was in pain from seeing her. Like my heart was being tore in two. Moeru Ryu were you able to get any thing from it? "Since this one happen when you were awake it prove it not a dream, but a memory." He said. Memory of what? "Of a past life perhaps? I would do more but something is blocking me." He said. Is it his doing? "No he been quiet since you bested him." He said. We'll figure it out later. I saw we were coming to Sharilton. We saw Driselle waiting for us. "Cline!" she shout as she ran to us. "Don't worry about me, someone get these people to the hospital." Cline said. "Yes sir." a guard said. With that being taken care of, we went inside the manor to relax.
I saw Cline walk up to us with Driselle and Rowen. "The doctor say all the capture citizens will recover." Cline said. "You have my deepest gratitude." Rowen said with a bow. "It not a problem." I said. "I'm just glad everyone ok." Jude said. "Well then we should be going." Milla said suddenly. "What the rush." Teepo complain. "Yeah I'm dead tired, can it wait a day?" I ask. "Afraid not Takato, we have matters else where to take care of." She said. "Then we'll have to pass through Fort Gandala from here." Alvin said. "And that not gonna be easy." I said. "Fort Gandala, then your destination must be Fenmount?" Rowen ask. "Yes I have unfinish business there." Milla said. "How do you plan to get through the fortress?" Cline ask. "We'll have to fight our wat through it." Milla said. "Ok now I know your nuts." I said as everyone look at her. "Not the easiest of plans, I shall send men to infiltrate's the base. They will facilitate your passage." Cline said.
"You sure you should be helping us? We are being chase by the military." Jude said. "House Sharil has never been particularly loyal to Nachigal. In fact I issue a formal complaint with the military and order their troops to withdraw." Cline said. Like that won't piss them off. "In others words, your pretty much on the verge of war." Milla said. Cline nod. "Then we should take him up on his offer." Alvin said. "It certainly more appealing then a suicide charge." I said. "I see, very well we accept your offer." Milla said. "Excellent after what you did for my people it the least I can do." Cline said. "It will take some time to put the pieces in place however. In the mean time make your self at home." He said as he walk away. Well at least we can relax now. "Uh are you ok Takato?" Elize ask me. "You were spacing out." Teepo said. "There right you been acting weird since the cave." Jude said. "I'm fine guys let just get some sleep." I said as we turn in for the night.
The next morning we was Cline outside. He told us he haven't heard for his men in the fort so he'll be sending Rowen. "I'm counting on you Rowen." He said. "I will not let you down." the butler said. "How long till you return?" Driselle ask. "Let see it should take me no least than a day to go and back on horseback." He said. "Oh I suppose we'll have to bid farewell to our friends tomorrow.'" She said. "Look that wat if everything stay on tracks." Alvin said. "That settle it Elly Milla and I are going shopping." Driselle said. "Shopping for real hooray!" Shout Teepo. "Let go time a wasting." Driselle said as she and Elize drag Milla off. I simply shake my head. Wonder if the lord of spirits can handle a shopping trip. It remind me of the times when Yoruichi would drag me along. I notice that Cline was in a thinking pose." Something on your mind?" I ask.
"I can no longer obey the king. He uses his own people as pawns. It time to stand against those tyrants, it it the only way to protect this precious peace of ours." he said. "Are you really going to rebel?" Alvin ask. "Is there going to be a war?" Jude ask as well. Cline nod. "I am certain Nachigal has consolidated his power for an invasion of Auj Oule." Cline said. What the fuck, damn should i warn father? "He has already shown that he willing to sacrifice his own people to satisfy his ambition. If he isn't stopped, lives in Rashugal and Auj Oule will be lost." Cline said. "I am the governor and protect the people live here is something that i must do." He said. "That not easy." Jude said. "It a hard job but Cline is more then able to handle it." I said. "Your right, but I'm responsible. Now will you help me?" Cline ask. "Well." Jude said unsure of himself. "Deposing Nachigal is in everyone best interest, we must stand untied for this case." Cline said as he held his hand out to Jude.
But then something shot pass us. An arrow hit Cline in the chest. It knock him to the ground. "CLINE!" I scream. "Master!" Rowen shout. "Damn it" Alvin curse as he look around. He soon found the shooter and shot her down. I kneel to Cline. "Damnit Cline, Jude heal him!" I shout. "Right." He said as we move Cline inside. We place him on the couch. Jude was trying to heal him. Rowen was looking at the arrow that hit Cline. "This arrow." He said. We saw Jude drop to his knees. "No Jude you mustn't give up." Rowen said. "Rowen you can't expect miracles." Cline said weakly. "We know that the wound is mortal, it up to you to look after this country." he said. "But I know I'm not up to the task, it impossible." Rowen said. I was shaking in rage. Damnit where the hell is Orihime when you need her. "You of all people can do it I know you can." Cline said as he went limp. He dead. I try to hold back my tears. "Cline." I said sadly.
That when I heard my own voice echo in my head. "once again I couldn't save a friend." "Master don't go." Rowen said. That when a guard burst in. "Lord Cline!" He said. He stop when he saw Cline body. "Please continue your report." Rowen said as we got up. "Yes sir, the Rashugal army has invaded the town, our troops are engaged throughout the city." the guard said. "Things just went from bad to worst." Alvin said. "So what if they want a fight, then I'll give them one!" I shout as I head for the door. "Takato wait, Milla and the others are out there." Jude said. "Very well we must protect lady Driselle at all cost." Rowen said as we headed for the plaza. When we got there we saw the Milla, Elize and Driselle were being taken by Rashugal troops. I look to see Giland holding Teepo, he turn to grin at us. Suddenly several soldiers got in our way. "Let clear then out." Alvin said. "No let me." I said as i draw my sword. "Only ten of you heh, not enough for my wrath." I said.
I rush past then as four of then drop dead. the others took a step back as they saw how I cut down. I glare at them. "Anyone else want some?" I ask them. Damn kid that cold, hehehe I love it. A dark voice in my mind said laughing. I don't need you get lost! You will one day. "Takato stand down I'll handle the rest." Rowen said as he walk past me. He look at the soldiers. "Stand down this instant, what the point is there in fighting after you completed your mission. Savages who take delight in the suffering of your countrymen." He said. The soldiers soon lower their weapons and start to leave. Rowen look at us. "let us return to the manor." he said. "Right." I said as he head back. After we got back we have to wait around for Rowen. "Hey Takato you ok?" Jude ask. "I'm fine , just a little work up." I said as I turn from them. "Don't blame you." Alvin said. That when Rowen came in. "Everything set?" I ask. "Yes i have made arrangements for Lord Cline funeral. Although the ceremony will be brief." Rowen said.
"How could this have happen." Jude said. "The arrow that took my master life is of a unique design, one use by Nachigal personal guard. The assassination and the timing of the invasion, this was obvious a plot by Nachigal that allow him complete control of Rashugal." Rowen said. I clench my fist in rage. "Basture now it personal!" I shout as I head for the door. "Takato where are you going?" Jude ask me. "Where else Gandala, I'm taking down Nachigal." I said. "But that suicide." Alvin said. "Try to stop me." I said as I use flashstep to run out. I then quickly ran to the end of town that lead to the Talys highroad. "Now to cross the desert, I so do not need this today." I said. "Takato is this the right course of action?" ask Moeru Ryu. "I don't know, but Nachigal need to be stop, before he kills anyone else. He has to pay for what he done!" I shout. But then an image ran across my eyes.
I was standing in front of a devil like figure. I couldn't make it out as it kneels in front of me. I was ready to stab it, when I heard a girl scream. I blink as I found myself back in the highroad. "Damnit not again, shake it off Takato your almost there." I said as I came to the fort. Man this thing just an Eye sore. "So how do we get in?" Moeru Ryu ask. "Don't forget this isn't our first time breaking in. As for doing so." I said as I spot a lone guard heading for the fort. I use flashstep to get behind him and hit the back of his neck to knock him out. I then took his armor and head to the fort. The front guards look at me as I greet them. "I'm from the invasion force Cline Sharil is dead, I must report this to the king." I said. "Alright head on in." He said as i got inside. Ok first let find the girls them we'll cut off Nachtigal's head. I saw a strange glyph in the hall way. Those look new wonder what they for.
I head for the lift and rode it to the lowest level. From there I enter the cells. I saw they were empty except for the guard on the ground who was coming to. I grab him and slam him against the bars. "Ok jackass, you fuckers took my friends and I'm in a really shitty mood. So where are they?" ask. "I won't tell you shit." he said. I smirk through my helmet. "Then I guess I'll have to show you how serious I am." I said as I grab his finger and broke as he cry out. "One down nine to go, feel like talking now?" I ask. " Ok ok, Deputy chief of staff Giland wanted Maxwell to tell us where the key she took from Fenmount. But the experiments was about to start, so he has me escort them back to the cells." He said. "Let me guess they knock your ass out and ran off." I said. "Yes but they won't get far because of the hex shackles." he said. Hex shackles? "Explain now." I said. "There devices we put on the prisoners, if they cross into a hex zone glyph they'll explode." He said.
Great another thing to deal with before we leave. "You said they're doing an experiment where?" I ask. "On the main floor in the lab one, please that all I know." he said." I believe you." I said as I slam his head against the bars to knock him out. Lab one huh? I bet a 100 gald that where they'll be. I ditch the armor and made my way to the first floor. I came to the lad where i saw Jude and the others. "So you guys may it." I said. "How did you get in?" Ask Alvin. "Stole a guard armor, so shall we let our selves in." I said as they nod. We went just in time to see Milla charging at Nachtigal. The king simply use his wrist to block her attack. "I'm going to put an end to your petty ambition right now!" She shout. He grab sword. "So is this girl really suppose to be the lord of spirits, oh don't make me laugh." He said as he disarm her and threw her to the wall. "Are you alright Milla?" Jude ask. "Nachtigal!" I shout at him.
He look at us. "I'm going to kill you for what you did!" I shout. "I doubt it boy, with the lance of Kresnik I will bring Auj Oule to it knees." He said. "That why you attack Sharilton?" Jude ask. "And why you kill Cline." I said as we jump down. "Silence, these matters are not meant for children such as you." Nachtigal said. "How dare you." I said as we got ready to fight. He ignore us as he look at Milla. "You didn't really think you could stop me could?" He ask as he then threw her sword toward her. But then Rowen jump and threw a knife at it causing the sword to impale the wall above Milla head. He then made an artes plane and start to float down. "Ilbert is that you?" Nachtigal ask surprise. "Rowen Ilbert!" A guard said. "Wait the Ilbert from the history books? Ilbert the conductor." Jude said shock as the rest. "Well shit, you learn something new everyday." I said surprise as well. "So he more then a butler huh?" said Moeru Ryu said.
"What business could one who cast aside his army and his kingdom have here?" Ask Giland. Rowen walk to the girls. "Lady Driselle I'm please to find you safe, I was beside my self with worry." He said. "What Takato said about cline is it true?" She ask as she try not to cry. "It is I'm sorry." He said sadly. "You have fallen far Ilbert but your new role as a servant suit you." Nachtigal said. "Your highness this way, you need not trouble yourself with these criminals any longer." Giland said as they start to leave. "Get back here!" Milla shout as she chase after them, the door closing behind her. "Milla damnit get out of the way!" Jude shout as the guards block us. "Talon storm!" he shout as he was cover in wind and blow a guard way. "Terra rapture!" Alvin shout as he stab the ground causing it to explode taking one out.
"Splash!" Rowen said as he drop water onto another one. "Tail strike!" I shout as i thrust into the last one ending the fight. "Jude ran to the door and was banging on it. "Come on Teepo." Elize said as she shake the sleeping doll. "Not talking, batteries kaput?" Ask Alvin, "We need to get this door open, Milla need us." Jude said. "Leave it to me." I said as he move out of the way. I hold my hands up to the door as yellow energy form in them. "Sprinkled on the bone of the beast! Sharp tower, red crystal, steel ring. Move and become the wind, stop and become the calm. The sound of warring spears fill the empty castle! Hado # 63 Raikoho!" I scream as fire a large lighting blast at the door blowing it to bits. I turn to them. "Rowen did you took care of the hex shackles?" I ask. "Ah yes "He said still stun by my arte. We soon heard an explosions' that made Teepo woke up. "AH what was that!" He shout. "We need to hurry." Jude said as he ran ahead.
I follow him when we saw lying in the hall way was Milla. Her legs look to be badly burn, she was out cold as well. "You guys alright? "Alvin as they saw Milla. "It not good guys." I said as i grab my head in pain ."She. Elize heal her please." Jude beg her. "She doesn't look good she all busted up." Teepo said as Elize go to heal Milla. "Milla please open your eyes. Why did this have to happen." Jude said. Suddenly the image of Jude holding Milla was replace by me holding the red hair girl from before. I was crying. "Bzzt hang on please I need you!" I said to her. "Sorry Takato this is the end, it was great being with you. I love you always," She said as she went limp. No please stop this! "There they are get them!" A guard voice said breaking the vision. "Time to go there noting more we can do here." Alvin said. "H-he right let get out of here." I said. "Stop them activate the golems" the guard said as the golems came to life, "Quickly." Rowen said as we all got in a carriage and ride out of the fort. Damnit that vision , that girl just who are you to me and why did you die?

Beginnings
Takato: After the disaster at the fort, everyone think about what to do next. Myself and the decide to go our separate ways. Where will the road lead us. Next time on Tales of Tamers Xilla: Chapter 8: Road to recovery.
