It turned out she had only walked through a tunnel and that it had still been daylight; she was just too lost in her mind to actually process her full surroundings. After Zoltan was done with her - and by done, she meant he had asked a few personal questions - she found herself being led by an old maid. She wasn't sure where to but it was down a nicely polished wooden floor. Her brown eyes took in the setting sun; the red burning brightly around it. 'Why would he want to know my age, my old life, and what my mother is like?' Hitomi shivered at the memory of telling him about her mother. She didn't give a name but only told him what kind of woman she was now. What a creep...
"This will be your room." The old woman stated, sliding the door open for the young girl. "We have provided you with a few outfits until we receive your size. Your food will take awhile to get here. Let one of us know if you need assistance with anything." The girl quietly thanked her before the elder woman scurried off leaving her to finally be alone.
The room wasn't too big but it wasn't too small either. The bedding was folded just like any other futon would be but she noticed the sheets were magenta. 'Too dark.' She stepped in, shutting the door just so there was still enough light pouring through. Her extra clothing was sitting up on a shelf. As she grabbed one, Hitomi felt the thickness of it, surprised at the comforting feeling she received.
As she held it out in front of her, she frowned. "Does everybody where a kosode?" It was as plain as Zoltan's, only gray. Glaring at it, she knew she needed to wear it. She couldn't wear her ripped one the whole time and they needed her size if they were going to make her proper clothes.
She again surprised herself when she realized at how calm she currently was acting unlike a few minutes ago. Sighing, she changed outfits and slipped under the sheets, reminding herself of her role.
"Today sucked." His stomach growled at him in agreement. Sesshomaru started his training after he and Rin spent a couple hours together, leaving him alone in her home. He felt so awkward there just being stuck in dead silence.
Lord Sesshomaru had them start on his hand to hand training from the beginning with Yoshi having to explain why his kind preferred extremely close combat. It was easier and less messier to obtain their food not to mention they felt stronger. The demon immediately challenged him, wanting to test the boy's strength.
And in the end... Sesshomaru won by a land side. So, if Yoshi couldn't get a hit on the demon lord, did that mean he would've lost against Inuyasha? He hung his head in agony. 'Most likely.' his stomach growled again. 'The guy may be hot headed but he must be strong.' "Hey."
A female forced him to look up. "Hi." he mumbled still not quite able to acknowledge her.
"Aren't you going to eat?" Kagome was nervous just standing there but the kid had a terrible day just like the rest of them.
"Soon."
"Sesshomaru's never offered to train anyone before, not even his own brother, so he obviously sees something in you."
"And?"
"He wants you to get stronger as fast as you can." But it hit her. Sesshomaru did whatever he had to to save Rin, so... Kagome opened her mouth to speak but Yoshi was gone.
Inuyasha stretched in the freezing river, hearing a few bones crack in the process. "That was great to watch!" he smiled, reminiscing back to Yoshi's big defeat by his brother's hands. "He didn't get in a single hit!" he laughed like someone told a joke.
'But,' he slowly thought, 'he better hurry up. I want Hitomi back.' the half demon scrubbed himself clean of the day's sweat and dirt. "There better not be a single scratch on her when we save her..." his voice faded as worries filled his mind. 'Is she terrified? Is she regretting going with that bastard? Will she make it? She's never been outside the village. We never taught her anything!'
Yoshi just stood there, watching the silver haired half demon's face contort with regret and pain. It made him feel some satisfaction just knowing Hitomi's father finally knew how awful of a parent he was. But the young vampire also knew he was partially to blame for the events that had taken place. If he'd been stronger than his old man then none of this would have happened; or if he had just changed his mind like his father told him to then Hitomi wouldn't be in his clutches. "It's not just your fault, you know" he caught Inuyasha's attention quickly who narrowed his golden eyes.
"You don't think I don't know that?!" he growled, regrettably standing up. The boy cleared his throat and the half demon ducked back down into the water. "It's everyone's fault that she's gone!"
But Yoshi had to disagree. "Not everyone." He knew a few who were mostly to blame but wouldn't mention. "There's Rin. She wanted to help according to what she told me. She was worried about Hitomi, watching her from time to time but wasn't allowed near her." A flash of guilt appeared in the other's eyes as he grit his teeth. "Then there's your brother. He didn't know who she was where as she did but refused to let him in no matter what." Yoshi saw the regret clearly. "And finally, there's Koga and his family." Now confusion replaced the regret and guilt. "They didn't visit but they were probably dealing with their own things. They didn't know what was going on."
He looked away in defeat. He couldn't disagree with the creature in front of him. The blood sucker was right. He couldn't say everyone was to blame. Having Yoshi turn around, he climbed out of the river, shivering from the air. It was silent until he finally slipped on his haori. "What will that monster do to her?" he whispered lowly, gaining the teen's attention.
"Well, what did he do after he killed me?" Yoshi quietly asked.
Inuyasha took a few seconds to respond, trying not to think about his daughter leaving so willingly. "He drank some of her blood then they left."
"Which side did he bite?"
"The left. Why are you asking pointless questions?" "They aren't pointless! They're extremely important! So just answer each one as best as you can!" "Tch!"
Yoshi took a deep breath. "Do you remember what he said to her?"
Inuyasha grumbled and scratched his head. He'd heard the bastard talking to his daughter but was too busy fuming. "Um, something about giving you to someone, I think... but then he said he'd get her if you were out of the picture? I was pissed so I only heard bits and pieces."
'Zoltan. I was supposed to be taken alive.' Yoshi didn't need anymore information from the half demon. He already knew what his father had done. "He would have marked her, not drank her blood." Inuyasha curiously looked at him. "Come on. I'll explain more after we gather everyone else."
Toshiro sat in the farthest corner away from the damn vampire... and from the fire, leaving him cold. Inuyasha had told them all that Yoshi had something to explain and wanted them to hear. His parents practically dragged him into Rin's house just to listen.
"There are a few things I want to explain to you all that you should know." Yoshi stated as bravely as possible. He was terrified as hell but they had to understand what was going to or what was happening to Hitomi. He slowly took in their expressions. Inuyasha was anxious but Yoshi didn't blame him. Kagome and the others looked curious and Toshiro sat in a corner. "I'll start with the two most powerful of my kind that I know."
"But you said you would tell me more about that confusing shit when we were all together!" Inuyasha shouted, moving to get up.
"I meant I would explain to you guys about the people we'll be up against and how marking works!" he fired back. Kagome silently urged the half demon to sit back down before letting the boy continue.
"As I was saying, the two most powerful of my kind that I know of would be Lord Zoltan and his General, Hironori, the bastard that took Hitomi." he stared into the fire, his bright aqua eyes gleaming with hatred. "I've never seen Lord Zoltan but I know how disgusting he can be. My mother, when I was little, told me how grateful she was to have a boy. I didn't know why she was but I didn't complain. I was happy until she died." He hesitated to continue, trying to shake off the memory. "Anyway, I heard that Lord Zoltan was killing young women for the fun of it... It lasted until General Hironori came along." Which meant the murders lasted for over sixteen years. "According to Hironori, Zoltan is experienced in both hand to hand and swordsmanship; he's way faster than Lord Sesshomaru; he can even get into your head which is what makes him so powerful. He preys on your weaknesses, feeds you lies and makes you believe them!"
Toshiro snorted, drawing everyone's attention. "Ha! If he could do that, he'd have every blood sucker at his mercy!"
"Now isn't the time to start a fight, Toshiro." Sango scolded him. "Whether it's true or not, we're still gaining information." her son turned to face the wall in a pout.
"That's all I pretty much know about Lord Zoltan. Hironori isn't very skilled at sword fighting but he's definitely amazing at hand to hand. He knows control a lot better than the rest of us; he could easily kill Inuyasha if he felt like it."
Kagome thoughtfully began to ask "You know quite a bit about Hironori. Is there some kind of relationship between you two?"
Yoshi was hesitant to answer. He didn't want them to know. He didn't want to see their pity or horror written on their faces. "He was just my commanding officer. Geez."
"Maybe they were fucking each other and the bastard got sick of him."
He sighed ignoring the disgusting words. "Marking someone means you literally own them." It was quiet. 'Finally.' "You can control them by telling them what to do. You're their master. I didn't tell her what to do even though I owned her." He heard a few angry growls. "When you fight another who wants your Marked, you fight to the death. It's like I told you, Inuyasha, he should have Marked her. But what you told me back there made me realize something. He wasn't supposed to kill me; I was supposed to be taken back alive. However, he had been meaning to take Hitomi's blood until I marked her. He was angry he couldn't have it so he ended up getting rid of me."
"But what does the neck thing have to do with it!?" "Oh, that..." Yoshi sighed. "He hadn't Marked her so he wasn't supposed to bite the left side. After Marking, you drink from the left side. But he must've been curious about her blood and wasn't thinking."
"So who did he give her to?"
He swallowed before staring into hazel eyes. "Lord Zoltan."
She hadn't eaten much. It wasn't like she could. How could she when the boy she'd fallen in love with was murdered right in front of her? How could she even sleep now that she was in a bunch of monsters' home, trapped and a slave to a creep? She began to toss and turn under the covers feeling the need to talk to someone. But who? She couldn't trust anyone here - they were all monsters. Murderers who drank human blood to survive. A knock at her door brought her out of her thoughts. 'Could it be...?' She prayed Zoltan wasn't hungry. Not in the middle of the night. The knock came again. Coming out from under her sheets, she crawled to the door just a few yards away. A manly figure stood there, waiting for to open it. But sort of only knew two vampires out of the... however many she'd seen so far. As she slid it open, she saw bare feet covered in dirt. As her brown eyes traveled upwards, they widened until they stopped on their owner's face. "Wolf demon."
