Anyone still alive out there? lol, sup.

Paul sighed again behind her and Bella rolled her eyes, pivoting around on the knee that she was kneeling on. And ignoring that slight twinge of pain from the pebble digging through her thousand dollar suit somehow.

"Hey, jackass, twin rule number one; help a bitch out or get lost!"

Paul smirked, shrugging in that obnoxious way that made Bella want to fight him for money and pink slips, "Hey, listen no one told you to jump that ridge! The drift was sick though, too bad I wasn't recording. Mom would've loved to see that whip out."

Bella sneered at him, more than annoyed, "I wouldn't have jumped if you had moved your lard ass over!"

"I said I was sorry!" Paul laughed, lighter this time—nervous and a little worried when his gaze drifted towards her split bottom lip and across the ridge of her nose, "Um."

Bella saw the guilt in his eyes but she was still too pissed at him to say anything yet, she really just hated when he wasn't responsible, honestly. The younger Lahote went back to working on her chain, eyes narrowed with renewed focus. The damn wrench she brought was left back at their camp several miles back and she was the dummy who didn't bring it. Normally Bella was always the one who was always two steps ahead so Paul had gotten into the habit of leaving his behind at camp as 'back up'.

He could be lazy sometimes, he was the oldest and the dumbest, Bella was convinced at this point. She swore him again when the chain jerked again off the oily hook and cut her knuckle, again, the same one.

Meanwhile, unaware of his sister's hostile thoughts Paul was still leaning back against his bike with his ankles crossed and arms folded. He's never felt so awkward before—but it's been years since his sister has gotten this upset with him. Paul rubbed his stubby chin, an apology formed in his mind but every time he opened his mouth it just wasn't right…it just sucked.

He was reckless and put his sister at risk, Paul didn't see it like that at the time—but it's what it was, and now it was on him. That ridge was bigger than he thought but that wasn't an excuse. Paul stood up straighter, arms dropping to his sides.

"I'm done."

Paul's chest deflated, eyes widening a little as his apology died on his tongue.

Bella stood, rubbing her filthy hands on the front of her suit—it was ruined anyway. She turned to see Paul standing there with a weird look on his face, and raised an eyebrow.

For a split second, Bella looked exactly like their mother.

"I'm sorry about…that…and your face." Paul swallowed thickly, clearing his throat—he wasn't one for apologies to anyone, "Look, if I gave you fifty bucks will you stop glaring at me?"

Bella hummed thoughtfully, then smirked,"Fifty bucks plus an extra hundred to not tell mom."

"Seriously? You're a snitch now? It wasn't even that bad, you're being a drama Queen!"

Bella rolled her eyes and reached down for her helmet on the ground but suddenly froze and held her hip with a pained expression.

Paul panicked, "Bella?! Shit—what is it?" He was hesitant to touch her, scared of making it worse, "What do I do?"

"Add…"Bella wheezed, barely holding it together, "add an extra fifty."

"Are you serious?!" Paul yelled and Bella burst out laughing, standing straight again, still cackling despite the sting on her lip, and Paul just couldn't help but laugh a little too, glad to have his sister back, "You're a con, Lahote. Fine, but we gotta shake on it. No snitching."

"Hey." The Lahote's startled, both of their heads snapping up to see two blondes they didn't recognize standing a little further up the trail, "You two good there? Need some help?"

The other one who wasn't talking was tall and quite pretty, really pretty—she looked like she was modeling those designer hiking gear more than anything. It wasn't lost on Bella either how much they resembled the Cullens.

Bella was vaguely aware of her older brother talking but she was too zoned out to care. The minute Bella's ogling eyes met the woman's darkening gaze, she felt trapped immediately.

Paul shifted his footing, shoulder bumping into Bella breaking her out of the staring contest she was having with the other woman not that he noticed.

"What do you say Bella?"

"Huh. About what?"

Paul gave her a quizzical look but Bella carefully kept her face neutral, "Uh, that we get your face checked out and maybe your ribs? For real, this time."

Bella glanced at the two women, specifically the taller one, whose eyes snapped back up to Bella's…had she been checking her out too?

"…what?" Confusion was clear as day in Bella's tone more than her expression, and Paul's eyebrows furrowed his mouth opening but the shorter woman answered before he could.

"Well, I was just explaining how we were actually looking for you. We heard your crash from our camp and wanted to check on you. We have a first aid kit back at our camp."

It wouldn't have been the first time they've run into friendly hikers during their off grid adventures. She didn't see any harm in them taking a break and Bella was willing to wager that these were the cousins Alice told her about.

"Bella, you good?" Her brother asked, his worry clear in his tone. He was starting to think his sister knocked her head a little too hard now.

But Bella just nodded and the quiet blonde smiled and Bella returned it without really thinking about it. Both of them missing the confused and smug looks from their siblings.

Irina and Kate, as they later introduced themselves, led Paul and Bella further up the trail and since it was a bit narrow, Irina and Paul took the lead with Bella and Kate pulling the rear—walking a little slower than their siblings who seemed to get on surprisingly well.

"I can push that if you want," Kate offered, breaking the silence—she knew that if her heart could actually still beat, it would be pounding right now. Kate has waited over eight hundred years for her mate for this very moment.

Even banged up and filthy, Bella was still the most beautiful creature Kate's ever seen. Her blood smelled good but Kate isn't tempted at all. She liked that her mate liked to roughhouse—it meant that she wasn't easily breakable.

Bella looked at Kate a little doubtfully, "It's okay, the bike is a little heavy, I got it, but thank you."

"I'm a lot stronger than you think," Kate winked, reaching over to grab the handles placing her hands over Bella's, making the human blush a little much to Kate's pleasure and amusement.

Bella moved her hands, not really wanting to—she liked Kate's hands on her own, she liked having the blonde so close. But that was weird, right? Plus Bella didn't want to come off as some U-Haul lesbian, so she moved her hands and stuffed them in the pockets of her pants. Her head was starting to hurt a little anyway.

"I—thank you, Kate."

Kate smiled, unable to help herself, "You're welcome."

There was so much more that Kate wanted to say, even do, but they were coming up on their camp much to her annoyance. That six minute hike wasn't enough time. Their impressive camp came into view and the smell of cooked food wafted through the air. Familiar booming laughter had Bella cocking her head to the side and Kate smirked despite being annoyed that her time with her mate was cut short and that she'd have to share her mate with everyone else.

And it took everything in Kate not to growl when Alice came running over as if she were truly surprised to see them.

Kate was staring and she knew that she was but she didn't give a damn about the others snickering around her and talking shit low enough for the vampires in the camp to hear.

Kate wasn't too far though she was close enough. Of course she trusted her sister—her sister who was currently sitting a little too close for comfort to Isabella, or Bella as the others referred to her, fixing up her face while her brother sat with Rosalie on the other side of the fire, talking quietly. Bella was also cleaning her hands with the rag Emmett had given to her a few moments ago.

Earlier she, Irina and Rosalie found the twins racing through the woods on their dirt bikes all the while talking shit to each other. They'd arrived just in time to see the accident and it was everything Irina and Rosalie could do to keep Kate from going over there.

Alice had come to help, helping Irina get Kate as far from the situation as the irritated vampire would allow, leaving Rosalie behind to make sure nothing else happened. She was not pleased with Paul's actions either but she wasn't going to let Kate loose on him either.

Alice and Irina had put some things into perspective for the near feral newly mated vampire, mainly a good first impression. And attacking her mate's brother, no matter the reason, wasn't the way. Kate still wanted her piece for his idiocy but she was patient. She'd wait for him to change. The vampire smirked to herself, unaware that Alice also smirked. That was going to be an interesting day.

Paul and Rosalie had gotten up from the log they'd been sitting on, opting for a walk to go for a walk, whatever that meant. Kate watched as Bella's gaze followed them curiously but kept quiet.

Their healthy relationship reminded Kate so much of her own with her sisters…it pleased her that her mate could have that as well. The blonde wasn't aware that she was purring until a rock flicked at her face, Jasper smiling at her but also giving her a warning look, he and Emmett sitting by their tent a little ways off and eating what they had caught and cooked, medium rare of course.

Once Irina was finished with Bella, Kate was quick to get out of her chair and sit in the lawn chair next to Bella's. The brunette looked at her curiously and Kate saw caution also hidden in those beautiful blue eyes.

"I hope I don't look too bad?"

"I don't think that's possible, but you do look badass."

Bella blushed a little but her laugh was light, and Kate very much enjoyed the sound of her laugh. She wanted more. More laughter…and more danced across her fingers briefly. Patience, Kate…patience.

The elder vampire glanced back at the park dirt bikes momentarily, "Y'know, it's been a while since I've ridden one of those."

Bella's eyes snapped back to her with some excitement behind them, no sign of caution anywhere, "You don't ride. You ride?"

Kate's grin was as salacious as they come. None of her answers were as innocent as the question asked of her. "I do all sorts of things, sweetheart, riding is one of them."

Someone gagged under their breath behind them but Kate simply ignored them but what was really curious was the brief furrow of Bella's eyebrows as if she heard the sound too…did she? It shouldn't have been possible since it was too low but maybe Kate was reading too much into it.

Bella's steady beating heart proved that, "Guess we'll see about that then."

"That accent of yours isn't from this part of the country, where are you from?"

Bella's lips quirked, was her accent really that twangy? "It's not, we're from Texas."

"Oh and what brings you all the way to Washington?"

Bella hummed quietly, looking away this time with a soft shrug, "Needed a change of scenery." Her tone held a note of finality to it, warning the vampire not to push so Kate didn't. Not now with so many ears and eyes around them.

"Bella, would you like to go on a hike with me to the lake? I promise it's not too far."

Bella bit her bottom lip, eyes raking over the camp…but half of them were already gone doing their own thing and the ones who were left were chatting amongst themselves, not paying either of them much attention. Kate watched and waited, a small smile appearing when Bella looked back to her.

There was something about this woman that begged Bella to be cautious but it seemed as if her attraction to this blond outweighed every inch of common sense her mother taught her. Conflicted but confident, Bella nodded.

"Sure."

By the time the weekend was coming to an end, Bella and Paul were on their way back into town. They were both exhausted, had no clean laundry left and they both smelled like they've been bathing in a creek for three days straight. Though it was something that they were both used to doing, growing up rough housing outside and whatnot, it was therapeutic for them both. But...this was perhaps one of the best weekends they've ever had.

Bella was driving this time while Paul snored his life away in the backseat. Bella had her playlist on, softly humming along to Paramore. In true Washington fashion, it was pouring and thundering making visibility pretty shitty. There were a few other cars on the long stretch of road but other than that, it was just Paul's lifted truck high tailing it.

There was nothing to look at besides all of the trees. For the thousandth time, Bella yawned loudly as her thoughts began to stray to the Cullens cousins, Kate in particular.

"You wanna switch?" Paul grumbled, startling her a bit as he rolled over until he was sitting up with a yawn of his own as he leaned forward between the two front seats, "Holy hell, it's really raining...? Maybe we should've left with the Cullens instead of running that last trail huh?"

"Yeah, I know," Bella glanced down at the speedometer—they were barely going fifty, and sighed heavily, "Once more, Forks strikes again. I swear, this is probably the most depressing place on the planet,"

Paul snorted but didn't argue, he sighed and grabbed a few snacks out of Bella's bag that was sitting in the passenger's seat and pretending that he didn't see her side eyeing him, "Well, at least the heavy rain will wash a majority of the dirt off of our bikes."

"Yeah."

It was quiet for a little bit until Paul opened his big mouth again.

"So…I didn't know you were into blondes too."

"Paul—"

"No, no! I'm being serious! She was pretty badass, Bell! I…I don't know, y'all looked comfortable…?" He trailed off, obviously waiting for his sister to fill in some blanks but she remained quiet as a mouse.

Paul wasn't surprised, unlike himself, his sister was a lot more reserved when it came to her romantic life. If she ever felt the need to entertain one, but they were seventeen—what did they know about romance?

"It was nice seeing you actually smile at someone besides me."

"I don't smile at you," Bella grumbled, though there was no bite in her tone, "I wasn't…really smiling that much? Was I?"

"Cheesin'."

"Whatever," bella blushed, almost desperate to get the attention off of her and her stupid crush Kate, "What about you and Rosalie? Don't think I didn't see you two walk off the other day."

"I don't kiss and tell."

Bella nodded, she could expect him to talk about his adventures if she didn't wanna talk about her own. There were just some things even twins wouldn't touch. "Did she at least say more than two words to you?"

"Hell yeah, finally! But I still need your help for the date though, okay? And some money."

The two continued to go back and forth on their way home meanwhile the Cullen and Denali's respectively ran back to the Cullen residence. Kate and Irina ran a few paces away from the group, not that the others seemed to mind or really care.

"She was made for me." Was all Kate said before Irina could even form her question. She was still staring straight ahead but Irina could tell that her sister wasn't exactly seeing.

Irina grinned, she knew Kate was smitten the minute she laid eyes on Isabella, even while she was wearing her full face helmet Kate was caught in the human's web. But of course she was, that was her mate. Rosalie had explained a bit of their family's background but not much—whatever Paul told her, he told her. Kate would have to warn Bella's trust for that.

Kate didn't mind it, in fact she looked forward to it—she liked to work for what was hers.

"What is she like?" Irina asked as they began to slow a walk, the rain not really bothering them at all. They did not care for their clothes as much as the Cullens did.

"She's…confident." Kate started, taking cover under a large tree that had branches big enough to shield them from the heavy rain water while they talked, "quite sassy…she's just so easy to talk to. I wanted to kiss her."

Irina raised an eyebrow, "did you?"

Kate shook her head and if she could, she'd be blushing by now, "No I…I want it to be perfect, I'm going to kiss her the night of our date this weekend. Besides, her lip should be healed by then, right?"

"You actually had some self control for once? Unbelievable. Wait until Tanya hears about this." Kate chuckled at her sister's teasing, "do you think Isabella felt the mating bond as well?"

"I hope so, just a little bit…it's so hard to tell with humans," Kate frowned a little, pushing her wet blonde locks out of her face, "Do you think Tanya would be alright if I stuck around for a little while longer?"

"I don't think she'd mind at all." It's been too long since Kate has been this excited and happy for anything—at least not like this, not since their mothers death. And Irina knew that Tanya wouldn't dare diminish it.

I edit as I go...anyway, yeah, siblings...being siblings. Idk this is how me and my siblings are lol, also, sorry if this chapter is a little...off, I have to get back into the twilight mindset. Had to redo the outline for this one too
