Checklist No. 3: Venue and Catering
Coffee.
What his body, his eyes, his senses are craving for right now? Is a heart-punching cup of a very dark coffee to boost his drained energy from the early morning activity with his fiancé. All because Sendoh Akira invaded his morning shower and turned it into a steaming hot and mind-numbing sexy time!
He dropped his corporate back-pack and helmet under his desk and went straight to the pantry. Good thing, the two monkeys are not yet around to annoy his incapacitated self.
If thinking about what just happened, his fiancé is acting weird this morning. First of all, they did it only once which is totally odd because Sendoh's sex-drive is higher than the distance between Earth and Planet Jupiter. Normally, Sendoh would insist it twice, or thrice... or until he passed out. Not that he is complaining, because if he allows it, he'll probably won't be able to lift his legs to get to work. Still, it feels odd. Second thing, Sendoh actually prepared his clothes for him as soon as he gets out of the bathroom - a v-neck plain long sleeves in dark grey color. His boyfriend is sweet, granted. But the way he acted this morning? It's way too sweet.
Enough of his lovely-but-draining morning, his focus now should be on the coffee he needed so he can focus on his work.
He peeped at the pantry and fortunately for him, no other colleagues inside to greet. He sighed in relief then starts preparing the brewed coffee he needed. Early morning chats in the office are usually gossips and senseless topics. That's the reason why he usually buys his coffee outside to avoid it. Sometimes, he even use the red-head as his shield to the usual rumormongers who eventually falls for it because the red-head is a big chatter himself. Not that he didn't like the people around here, he just hates spreading gossips or be part of it. As a matter of fact, he got no problem with anyone. The people here are nice and considerate. Far from his previous jobs where people are highly competitive to the point of ruining other's career. Here, teamwork is considered as their very core, values everyone's achievement and most of all... no molesters!
"Good morning RK." he heard from behind, a familiar voice that can probably revoke his last statement. But without the voice, he can easily tell it's his boss, Hiroki Touya, as the room is now filled with his million-dollar manly scent floating around the pantry. Damn. It's stronger than the coffee he is brewing. He turned to give his greetings and there is that droopy smiling face, leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed on his chest. Come to think of it, he always shows up in this position whenever he enters a room. Is that the manly way to greet someone?!
"Good morning Hiroki-san." he muttered with a slight bow of his head.
Hiroki sends him a soft smile. "You're early."
"I'm... it's a norm for me."
"As always, you're amazing."
Dammit. When will this brewing ends? He wants to escape immediately. And now, he has to offer a cup as a sign of courtesy. Part of being mature as Akira would always say. "Coffee? Hiroki-san?" he offered, but not from the heart. 'Please say no.' he repeatedly screamed inside.
"Of course. I'd love to taste a coffee made by my RK."
The foxy brows met.
Hiroki lifted both of his hands to apologize. "Oh sorry. I meant a coffee made by my subordinate. I hope I didn't make you feel uncomfortable."
Rukawa just looked at him blankly and shook his head. But in the back of his brain, 'I'll let that pass but I'll smack your droopy face next time.' Then finally, the sound of a click from the coffee maker, indicating the brewing is done. He took out another cup from the storage above him and placed it down together with his own tumbler. He took the coffee-maker pitcher and poured one each until half-filled.
"I heard you're getting married."
The statement of his boss, shocked him to the core that made him pour the coffee out of one cup. "Oh shit." he blurt out in panic. He turned his head from side to side to look for something to wipe the spilled dark liquid. To his surprise, Hiroki already approached his side and took two ply out of the rectangular tissue-box himself. "My fault. Sorry." he said and leaned closer to wipe the spilled coffee on the counter himself. His chest even bumped on Rukawa's arm. Dammit!
The boss threw the damped tissue on the bin and faced Rukawa to inquire more. "So... is it true? Is that the meaning of your ring?"
He nodded his head. "It is sir."
Hiroki sends him a convinced smile. "I heard it's a man you're engaged with."
He gaped a little. His job security, however, depends on what his response. He never hid this side of him. A lot of his co-workers are aware he's engaged with a man. But none of them judged him. That's why he loves this place. But Rukawa is aware of the discrimination against couple of the same sex. At this era, people are starting to defend gay rights and they gained a lot of supporters. Unfortunately, there are still firms or private companies who discriminate gays. As much as he loves this working place, if he will be treated as such, he will definitely leave in a snap. He is proud of himself, proud of the life he has chosen and he'll go against anyone who will bring threats to him for being gay... especially to Sendoh Akira. "Are you going to fire me?" he directly asked. Why prolong the agony when they can settle it now.
"Fire you?" Hiroki gave him a mocking scoff. "Why would I fire my best person?" Rukawa then watches his boss open one of the cabinets in front of their faces and brought out a medicine box. "I am not against gay couples if you are worried about that." he continued then took out two pieces of paper, which looks like band aids if not mistaken. Then the plastic box was returned back to its place. Hiroki moved and leaned closer to him. "Truth is, I am one myself."
So it's true! Their boss is gay! If red-head finds out he's right, he will definitely brags it. Ah. He won't tell him.
"As a matter of fact, I'm happy that we are just the same." Hiroki added with a pleasing smirk, then handed him the two band-aids he took from the medicine box. His brows furrowed. First he couldn't decide how to respond to what he just said, and second, what's with the band-aids? "I'm not hurt anywhere, Hiroki-san." he cleared.
"You aren't..." he said affirmatively. "But you need these to hide those two red marks on your neck. You wouldn't want to be today's headline."
It took a while for him to understand what his boss is saying. And as soon as it sunk in, his face flushed in bright red. He quickly covered the left side of his neck with his palm. His reaction earned a chuckle from the boss. Hiroki lifted a finger then poked the right side of the pale neck. "This side RK." he clarified, in which Rukawa quickly covered too. A chuckle again. "Obviously you are not aware. I guess, soon-to-be-husband didn't tell you? He must be sending a message..."
'Sending a message?' he repeated in his thoughts. The odd morning finally makes sense now! Husband-to-be pressured sex so he could plant kiss-marks on his neck. And to make his plan totally work? He forced him to wear v-neck shirt to expose it! 'You're dead Akira.' he hissed inside. All this is probably for the boss to see. But then again... who started this misconception anyway? His future husband's behavior is actually a result of the lies he did. Maybe it's time to tell Sendoh the truth before it comes to a point where Sendoh would stick a note on his back with 'Sendoh Akira's property only'
"You're amusing RK, really. No wonder, your fiancé is over-protective." Hiroki added. The band-aids were placed down to the counter and took the half-filled cup prepared by Rukawa. "This mine?" he asked which Rukawa answered by a nod of his head. He then took out packets of cream and sugar near the coffee maker. "Thank you RK for the coffee. It feels good to know more about my people. And thank you for the good-morning-conversation as well. Perfect to start my day right." He sends his charming soft beam then marched to the door. "And RK?" he called before he completely left the room. Rukawa turned his head back and found the usual mischievous soft smile of Hiroki Touya. "Sometimes... rings are simply considered... objects." Then he's gone, leaving a dumbfounded Rukawa.
His spine shivered. "Damn. He's such a creep."
One sunny Saturday morning...
The SenRu couple have arrived in front of a familiar restaurant whose owner is a beloved friend of both party.
Rukawa hopped off first.
"You head inside." Sendoh muffled inside his helmet. "I'll find a place to park."
He nodded in response then went inside the same restaurant where Sendoh usually dines with his university friends, and of course, owned by one of his best friend, Hanagata Tohru. "Kaede?" The same voice called once he entered the still-closed diner. "Tohru."
The four-eyes quickly welcomed him with a warm hug and broke it right after a squeeze. "It's good to see you again! How are you? Busy on the wedding prep?"
A vapid shrug. "Not really."
The giant door creaked open and the other half of SenRu couple came in with arms open wide. "Make way to the only known boyfriend of Rukawa Kaede. Step aside, rejected people." His usual taunting remarks whenever Hanagata and him would meet. As always, the tallest guy would simply laugh on it. "You freaking dog! You couldn't let that go, can you?"
"Sadly, until you find a partner, you are still a threat to me." he joked.
"A businessman can not afford commitment, my friend." Hanagata stated proudly.
"Sheesh. No wonder you're still a virgin."
The older laughed. "Nah. I'm just waiting for you two to break up."
"Ha! You'll die first before that happens." Sendoh rebutted.
Being the subject of this banters, Rukawa rolled his eyes. 'I'm still here idiots.' he thought.
Hanagata and Sendoh performed their usual hand greetings, ending it with a hug. "I miss you brother." Sendoh mumbled.
"I miss you too, man." Tohru responded, tapped his back then broke the hug. "So my dearest couple, let's get down to business, shall we?"
There are only two options Rukawa presented to Sendoh for their caterer. Tohru's team or McDonald's - which only indicates Tohru's crew is the only option. Otherwise, burgers and fries will be served to their guests. Actually, he has predicted this already. For this restaurant, including the dishes they served, are all Rukawa's favorite. The problem is however, the restaurant's first wedding event to cater for, is theirs. Sendoh wouldn't want their wedding to be considered as guinea pig, so he tried to persuade Rukawa. But once Rukawa settles his mind, it is, unfortunately, final.
After presenting their signature-dishes, the couple has finally completed the list. "So that's it. We're done." Hanagata cheered and collected the papers they've signed.
"You really did some new dishes for us eh?"
"Of course, anything to please my dearest couple as well as our first wedding-event customer." he stated. "But even though you are our first, please settle yourselves to worry about nothing. I'll do everything in my power to give you the service you paid for."
Sendoh agreed in a form a smile. "Thank you man."
"By the way, I heard from Kenji you're going to visit some venue next week?"
The name alone, invisibly screwed Rukawa's eardrum. And what's with the scouting of venues? Akira never mentioned anything. "You're scouting venues?" he asked in an interrogative way. Sendoh was a bit surprise on his tone, "Well yeah." he responded sarcastically. "We talked about it yesterday."
"When's yesterday?"
"Last night." he said. "The same time when you're also fixated in your game."
Yeah he remembered. But he didn't recall hearing the baby face's name! "But why with that..." he corrected before the two boys noticed. "Why with Fujima?"
Sendoh shrugged. "He can help us. He knows some friends who own wedding venues he highly recommends. And besides, you said you are not available as you have to work on the weekends, so why not take someone who can give me an 'expert advice'?"
He really wants to twitch his lip right now. Of course, this Fujima Kenji will use the 'expert advice' as an excuse to get close to his man. Sheesh. Who needs an expert advice in selecting venues? It doesn't sound hard to him. Such a flirt!
"I don't want to interfere with your wedding preparation, but as a friend, I agree to take Kenji when scouting venues. He's really professional and knows his thing around wedding." Hanagata said. "It's their family business for a long time."
Great. Now even his best man is on the leech's side. Thinking deeply, if he allows this to happen, there will be lots of alone time! Pictures of them walking along side each other with brushing of the back of their hands; Eating together with wiping of Akira's lips with a tissue; Closely conversing to the point of kissing; Then what's next? Checking-in a hotel? Argh! Screw his job! He won't allow it! "I'll go."
Sendoh was taken aback. "You sure? I thought you needed to work?"
He needed an immediate second plan. Only one pops on his head. "Red-head can handle it." Uncertain, for the red-head considered his weekend sacred to play with his kid all day. But whatever. He'll just blackmail him. What matters is, this Fujima Kenji must never gain victory without him fighting for it!
"You don't need to force yourself, Kaede." Sendoh said. "It's just scouting venues. We don't need to sign yet-
"Tch. I said I'll go." Irritation is evident in his voice. If Tohru didn't mention it, when will he know? Did Akira even considered telling him? Just by thinking about him keeping secrets, his blood can't stop boiling. Sendoh felt the sudden change of fiancé's mood. He leaned closer to whisper. "Hey Kaede. No need to get mad. I'm just concern about your work."
But the still annoyed Rukawa retained his attention outside the window, while sipping on his juice with a metallic straw.
Sendoh simply sighed and just played with the dessert left from their food tasting.
And Hanagata just sits there in silence, feeling all the awkwardness every third-wheel has to go through in situations like this. 'This is awkward.'
The day to scout for their wedding location has come.
While Sendoh is taking his shower, Rukawa prepares himself wearing the new clothes he bought recently. From head to toe, everything is new. Even the perfume he sprayed just now is new. Dark long-sleeves turn-down collar in maroon-black-gray prints for his top. Sleeves folded up to his elbow, showing that toned forearm of his - perfect match for his skin tone. Down below is a black fitted ripped jeans, hugging his slim but toned legs. Lastly, clean off-white sneakers.
It's not like he bought this to retain his title of 'most pretty and beautiful face' in Akira's eyes. Well... Duh! He's not insecure! Pffft.
The bathroom door opens and a topless Sendoh, with only a towel covering his lower body, came out. And as expected, the first thing that caught his orbs is the glamorous presence of his beau. "Wow." The first word the came out of his mouth. Eyes sparkling in full admiration. "Wow." he repeated, scanning his lover from head to toe. "What have I ever done to deserve this..." he muttered as he approached. "Is it my birthday today?" Orbs still locked on the dazzling presence of Rukawa.
Before Sendoh's drenched body could ruin his outfit, Rukawa lifted an arm to block him. "Can you at least dry yourself first?" he demanded. But Sendoh remains bewitched. Head goes up and down his height. "You look irresistible right now." He murmured sexily, placing both of his hands on Rukawa's hips. "Are you perhaps, trying to seduce me?"
"I'm fully clothed! How's that seducing you, giant pervert?" he reasoned out. Yet, his words didn't reach his boyfriend's senses. Sendoh's feet moved forward, forcing Rukawa to step back until he reached the wall. With Sendoh's larger and stronger built, the arm blocking him becomes worthless. Thus, his expensive shirt is dampened by Akira's still-wet body and dripping fringes. "You're ruining my clothes Akira! Get off me!" he pushed with all his strength but the bigger body is too strong for him. Sendoh bent his head and sniffed Rukawa's neck. "Even your perfume is new." he whispered, planting soft kisses to the length of his neck. Rukawa tried his best to push the guy for the second try, "Akira, we have a meeting in an hour! Dress up!"
Thankfully, Sendoh moved his head back. "Don't worry. Kenji can wait. But Kae-chinchin can't..."
"Kae-chi-what? And what do you mean by wait?" With Sendoh's pressing of his lower part, he finally understood the implication. "The heck Akira?! Why are you hard?!" he snarled. "And did you just name your dick after me?!"
Sendoh chuckled sexily. "Why not? This is Kaede's property after all." he said, then return on kissing his neck. "Take responsibility Kaede. Kae-chinchin is mad because of you." Then his weight was lifted from the ground. His eyes widened in panic, pushing the shoulder of the other so he can free himself from being carried. "Wait Akira. You'll ruin my shirt!" he struggled to free himself but Sendoh spun them around and marched to their bed. "Akira you jerk! If you stain my shirt-"
"Don't worry. I'll take them off with TLC."
"TLC my ass!" he said, realizing a very big mistake which wiggles the tail of the dog he always refer to. "TLC your ass? Right away madam!"
"Akira you piece of-" And before he could swear, he was thrown on top of the bed. "Fuck!"
"Ah! Granted!"
And just like every sex they had in their thirteen years of relationship, whenever Sendoh promised something before an intimate moment, it's definitely a lie! The very expensive top-to-bottom outfit turns unwearable... together with the fitted jeans he fell in love with at first sight! And now, he has to wear the only available decent clothes he had in the cabinet. A plus-sized baggy orange shirt which even got a small ketchup stain at its lower part. To complete this humiliating outfit, khaki pants with pockets from either side. He gritted in total frustration.
If only he didn't skipped laundry to shop for new clothes, he could've worn better outfit than this uncle-like combination.
And to make this day even more excruciating? Is the sight of the smug face from afar, waving at their direction, who is shining like a beacon among the crowd. A model-like presence, outstanding everything that surrounds him! Dark turtle neck, emphasizing that pinkish skin of his, combined with a denim jacket and pants.
"Oh there's Kenji-" Sendoh was about to wave back but a frustrated punch hit his shoulder. He turned to the culprit whose flaming orbs are onto him. "What? Are you still mad? I already told you I'm sorry." Still, Rukawa gave him another. "Aw. Kaede... I swear, I'll buy you new clothes next time." But he can't forgive him just yet, so he kick Sendoh in the shin, making the other wince and chuckle at the same time, still amused by his immature act. They are too busy with their stealthy quarrel when all of a sudden, Fujima Kenji jumped at Sendoh's back, arching an arm on his neck, forcing the tallest to bend his body. "Akira!" he exulted, encircling the other arm to lock Sendoh's neck like how wrestlers do.
And all this inconsiderate treacherous scene happening in front of him is starting to hit his boiling point. 'What the actual fuck!' he yelled inside his thoughts. Did the leech just hugged his man in front of him?
"The heck man. I almost lost my head." Sendoh exclaimed.
Is this a normal greeting for them? How can he not know that?
Fujima freed Sendoh's neck. "Your fault. You still let your guard down! Geez. When will you learn." he said, giving Sendoh a light punch on his shoulder. Both laughed without considering the presence of the fiancé himself.
Feeling vicious stares next to him, Fujima turned to his left, finally noticing Rukawa's presence. "Oh. Rukawa?" he uttered in total surprise, which Rukawa felt like a hint of disappointment. "Didn't know you're there." Fujima added.
'I can clearly see that.' his thoughts. Because if the guy knew about him coming along, he wouldn't be this touchy with Sendoh.
"Sorry Kenji." Sendoh interrupted. "Forgot to tell you, the schedule was changed."
Fujima waved his hand. "Ah. Nothing to worry. I always believe, couples who work together, stays forever."
"Damn! Your cheesy lines are pain to my ears." Sendoh joked which the other, as expected, would laugh at with that usual punch over his lover's shoulder.
He rolled his eyes. 'Give me a break.'
Coming along is a decision he made, though it's not to help out in looking for the perfect venue for their wedding... but to secure his belongings inside his pocket. But seeing how the two continuously converse for quite some time now... just in front of him, with him trailing behind... it feels as if... he's the third wheel on this.
He may be overthinking whenever Fujima and Akira is involved in one particular moment... but to be honest... it's seriously annoying...
First possible venue Fujima takes them is inside a banquet room of one hotel, whom he claims owned by a friend of his.
"Wow!" Sendoh is stunned by the elegant looking room. Despite its bareness, the ambiance and lighting sample is captivating.
"Beautiful right?" Kenji uttered behind. "The owner says he'll offer 10% discount if you avail it this month. So, if you're both decided, just call me and I'll prepare everything."
Sendoh bobbed his head. "I like it-"
"I don't like it." said by Rukawa from behind, surprising the other men. "Are you sure Kaede? I think this one is good." Sendoh rebutted then turned to Fujima. "Right Kenji?" Asking for Fujima's opinion, somehow made Rukawa clenched his fist.
"I totally agree Rukawa. Tour around so you can feel the place." Fujima suggested.
But Rukawa remained silent, which only means he has settled his mind. Sendoh just smiled at Fujima, a smile of apology to be precise.
Another hotel for their second possible venue is where Fujima takes them. Fujima highly recommends this place due to its elegance, majestic and sophisticated ambiance-
"I don't like it." Still, it didn't passed Rukawa's approval.
"Uhmm, Rukawa..." Kenji meddled. "I suggest you give this place a chance. List it down for now, we don't need to book today. This one is the most prestigious place any couple would book in an instant."
Sendoh approached him. "I agree with Kenji, Kaede." Another reason to clench, not only his fist, but also his jaw.. "I think this place is good-"
"I said I don't like it." he reiterated.
Sendoh felt a bit uneasy on his behavior but tried to control his emotion. He rubbed his nape and glance at Fujima. "Do you have any other Kenji?"
Fujima simply nodded.
The next three venues were still, unfortunately, declined by Rukawa.
And it's starting to hit Sendoh's temper. But it's not because of his decision. Kaede's consent is the most important here after all. But a part of him, has this intuition that Kaede's decision is lead by something that can be referred to as... immature.
A bland rooftop.
The last event place on Fujima's list. He sighed out before he faced the couple. "I am sorry but this is the last venue I can offer you. It's too bland I know but that is my problem, not yours. But I really don't recommend this place-"
"I like it." Rukawa interrupted, finally hearing something he approves, but the two boys couldn't agree with him.
"Are you sure Rukawa?" Fujima inquired. "But this one is like... meh."
And for the last time, Sendoh seconded Fujima's opinion. "Yeah. I agree with Kenji. It would be a waste if it rains..."
"Then let's prepare for it." He turned to Fujima. "You can deal with that, I presume."
Fujima simply nodded. "Of course. But I really recommend the second venue Rukawa. It's more secured and we don't have to worry about the weather."
Finding Fujima's opinion more convenient, Sendoh held Rukawa's hand and whispers to him. "Let's just hear out Kenji's advise, okay?"
Feeling as if no one's taking his side... even his fiancé, he just kept his silence which Akira considered as his agreement. Sendoh sends him an appreciative smile and squeezed his hand. "Thank you." he whispered and agreed on the second venue... by himself.
Maybe Rukawa's first plan is better. He should've just stayed home and worked all day long...
The couple arrived home.
Since dinner with Kenji, until they reached home, Rukawa has never uttered a word. He even refused to give thanks to Fujima after helping them throughout the day.
"Are you mad about something?" Sendoh courageously asked, watching his lover coerced himself silently inside their unit. But Rukawa refused to answer. "I know you're mad. I can see it clearly judging by how you treated Kenji and myself over dinner. You can't even thanked the man for helping us out!" Sendoh reiterated. But his lover continued to treat him like a ghost speaking to nothing. He snapped and slammed a palm at the counter. "Stop acting like a child and face me Kaede! How will I understand your problem if you won't tell me?"
"Then ask that Fujima! His opinions matter to you more than mine anyway!" He stormed towards their bedroom and slammed the door really hard. Leaving an appalled Sendoh.
It took some time for the older one to realize his mistake. And he knew, that this time, what he did... is a form of failure of a husband.
Usually, when they quarrel, Sendoh would come to him in a matter of seconds to woo him back.
But it's already thirty minutes since he slammed the door! Is Sendoh neglecting him now? Ugh! Whatever! He will never back down tonight. If this neglecting each other would take a month, then fine! He's not the one at fault anyway!
Minutes have passed and Rukawa can't stop glancing at the clock. It's almost an hour. He stood and walks back and forth in their room. What is Akira doing? Is he really not going to woo him this time? And why is the living room quiet? Not even the TV is on.
Wait a minute!
A sudden realization came unto him.
What if... What if he went to Fujima for comfort?!
He gaped. Indecent pictures of his fiancé and the baby face start clouding his mind. "No! It can't be!" he uttered and held the door knob to open the door but a knock stops him. "Kaede?"
It's Akira!
He sighed in relief. Glad to know he is still here.
"Kaede... I'm coming in."
He panicked! He can't face him yet! He's still mad! So he quickly jumped his enormous height to the bed, crawled on top then hide underneath the thick comforter, forming an igloo-like bulge on top of the bed.
"Kaede... I'm coming in okay?" he heard but he kept mummed.
The door finally creaks open. Footsteps nearing, approaching his side of the bed.
"Kaede..." he heard Sendoh called.
A smell of something like a plant tickles his nose. So he took a peek, praying Sendoh will not notice, and saw a giant bouquet of blue roses. Too big that even covered the sight of Sendoh's face down to his chest. So that's why he was gone for an hour! He left to buy the roses! Somehow, a part of his heart, is dancing in glee.
But who cares? He is not easily persuaded by a bunch of blue roses!
He sensed the bouquet was placed down the floor and then felt a weight on top of the blanket, which seems to be Sendoh's hand. "Kaede I'm really sorry." whispering to their blanket, near Rukawa's face. "I know any explanation won't justify what I did, but please hear me out... I only agree with Kenji because of his expertise on the field 'cause I really want this wedding to be perfect for us. I'm too focus on that... I didn't realized that I'm neglecting your opinion." he stated sincerely. "I'm truly sorry love... Please, let's not sleep on this."
He waited for a while, but Rukawa didn't pulled off his blanket.
Last resort.
He fished out his phone and reads the message from a certain red-haired he called for help. He may not be the best person to call unto but he knew the only thing that could gain Rukawa's attention is a certain hobby he shared with his best frienemy. "How about a..." he looked down and reads an unfamiliar term he didn't know exists in any dictionary. "Nin... Nintendo S... swatch?" Is that correct? Well he's not a gamer so that should be understandable.
"Switch, you idiot!" Rukawa muffled inside, which brightens Sendoh's face. The red-head is right. It may hurt his pocket... but it's certainly a success. But no worries, coz usually, Rukawa never allowed him to buy him something that is too expensive. Sendoh lifted himself up and hugged Rukawa's form under the blanket. "Please Kaede... Let's talk." he pleaded. Gladly, Rukawa uncovered his head. "Admit it first." he asked.
Sendoh bobbed his head several times.
"Okay."
"Kaede I'm sorry okay? I didn't meant to cast you aside. I just don't understand you sometimes... But please don't get me wrong. I fully admit, I'm on the wrong side here."
Rukawa sends blank stares at his fiancé, looking at him with sincerity in his eyes. "I didn't agreed..." he started. "... with those four rooms because there's too much light on the stage." he explained. "It's too bright. Your eyes are weak when there's too much light. It will only result for your migraine."
Sendoh gasped. Speechless.
"I don't want to see you suffering on headaches during our wedding night. You'll surely regret it and be sorry for it your entire life. I don't want that to happen..."
All this time, he thought Rukawa is being childish over his decisions but he's actually considering him the most.
"I like the second one too. But it doesn't have an elevator to reach the second floor. Your stepfather will have a hard time to reach our venue..." he said, referring to Sendoh's second father who suffers an accident, resulting to an impaired left leg.
Sendoh's feelings is a mix of guilt and pure bliss. He always thought an expert advice will always be the better choice to reach the perfect wedding he dreams for Kaede to have, that he lost the true essence of it. The perfect wedding is only define by him, his future husband, who loves him unconditionally, and the promise they will make to grasp eternity.
He held Rukawa's hand and kissed his knuckle. He rested his chin on top of it and whispers sincerely from the core of his heart, "I love you."
Rukawa simply smiled on him.
"Do you know how much I love you?" Sendoh repeated.
Rukawa glanced to the blue bouquet on his side. "Like how big that giant bouquet is?"
Sendoh laughed at the unforeseen joke.
"What? Do you think I'm sick? How dare you treat me like a woman!"
He laughed again. "I knew you would say that."
"And yet you still buy it, doaho."
"Well. I was walking to find something that could please you... I found this giant bouquet and thought Aaah... Beautiful like my fiancé. So I bought it."
Rukawa then narrowed his eyes and shoved Sendoh's face away. "Don't call me that term again!"
Sendoh is baffled. "What term? Beautiful? Why? You know I will never get tired of saying it even if you hate it." he laughed.
"Then I won't believe it."
Sendoh wonders. "Why is that?"
Rukawa's ears turned red. "If you'll... If you'll address it to another person... then I won't believe it anymore..." he said then flipped his body to the side, away from his lover.
'Address it to another person?' Sendoh is trying his best to understand. "Hey Kaede. What do you mean?"
"Figure it out yourself. I'm going to sleep!"
"Who did I call beautiful? Jennifer Lawrence? You know how much I love her."
"Tch. You know you don't stand a chance with her."
Sendoh laughed. "But really... Who did I call pret-" His lips smirked upon realizing.
Hearing nothing from the other for a while, Rukawa looked back and found his husband-to-be with a mischievous smirk on his face. His brows met. "What?"
Sendoh rubs his chin. "It all makes sense now." he said, with light bobbing of his head.
"Pfft. You looked like an idiot." he mocked.
Sendoh started counting by his fingers. "The new and expensive looking top-to-bottom outfit." he lifted another. "And the way you address him with the 'that' term before his name."
His brows grew deeper.
"Am I right to say... that the great Rukawa Kaede is jealous over Fujima Kenji?"
His face expresses disgust. "Yuck! Duh! Why would I? Tch. The nerve!"
Sendoh poked his side and teased him. "Somebody's competing..."
He snapped the hand away. "Tch. Keep dreaming, idiot. He's just annoying..."
"Why so?"
Red tint crosses his face. "He's... He's clearly hitting on you."
"Hitting on me? Fujima?" His enormous laugh filled the whole room. He gently pulled Rukawa and forced him to lie on his back, who still got the red blush on his face. "Let me clear something... Fujima is gay alright."
He rolled his eyes. "Obviously."
Sendoh chuckled. "But not to me..."
Rukawa lifted his upper lip to the corner, refusing to believe him, amusing Sendoh at the same time, who can't stop his lips from beaming out of pure happiness. "He is gay and only gay for Kicchou."
Rukawa was taken back at the unforeseen revelation. "Wait. Fukuda?" he repeated. The spiky head nodded
"That Fukuda?"
"There you go again, with that that term before someone's name." he said. He held Rukawa's hand and enclosed it with his. "The reason why Kenji and I becomes so close is because he wants Kicchou to notice him. Though I think Kicchou is really straight but Kenji is determined he can make him gay."
"But why that Fukuda?"
Sendoh scoffed upon hearing the word 'that' once again. Seems it's going to be a habit from now on. He shrugged in response. "He said he likes his eyes. It's different."
Still Rukawa refused to believe it. Like who in the right mind would prefer that Fukuda over a gorgeous-celebrity-like image of Sendoh Akira? Or maybe...
Rukawa narrowed his eyes suspiciously towards his boyfriend. "Or maybe, he is just using that Fukuda so he can hit on you without you knowing? Tch. You're so naïve."
"Seriously?" he chortled.
"And then what's next? He'll pounce on you? Kidnap you? Marry you? Then make babie-" Sendoh covered his mouth with a palm before he goes further. "Stop talking, will you?" he said, smirking in glee. When he felt Rukawa has calmed his mouth, he freed it then tapped his lap twice. "Come here."
Hesitant at first, but Rukawa complied. He crawled towards Sendoh then straddled on top of his lap. Sendoh brushes his fringes then cups his face. "No one. As in no one... can ever top this beauty right in front of me..."
Touched by his lover's sweet talking, Rukawa felt his blood rushing to his face. "Oh yeah?"
"Yes. You and only you." he stated. "Not Fujima. Not even the sexiest man alive today."
Rukawa arched an eyebrow. "Not even Jennifer Lawrence?"
Sendoh pondered. "Uhmmm. Can we make that an exception?" he said, earning a punch on his shoulder. They both laughed.
Sendoh blew a relief from his nose and stared deeply into Rukawa's bluish orbs. "I love you."
The younger melted and leaned down to capture Sendoh's lips. Sendoh felt the force. "Oh aggressive." he said when Rukawa parted for a little then kissed him again with desire. "Wow! I like it!" his final words before Rukawa pushed both of their weights down to the bed.
"Are you sure this is the one?" Fujima asked for the second time.
"Yeah." Sendoh confirmed. "Just prepare for any possible or worst circumstances."
Fujima sends an assuring smile. "Sure. If my client is settled then I'm good. I'll do my very best to make this place beautiful for you and your husband-to-be." he said then leans in to whisper. "But promise me, I'll sit next to Fukuda-kun, okay?" Sendoh laughed and forcibly pushed Fujima out of the rooftop. "Get outta here and just fix our damn papers!" he joked and the baby face is out of the scene.
Sendoh approached Rukawa, who is standing near the end of the rooftop, looking at the morning view of the city. He snaked his arms around Rukawa's waist from his back, squeezing him close. "You okay, here?"
"Aye."
He planted a kiss on Rukawa's neck and murmurs, "I can't wait to marry you." Rukawa smiled and hugged his arms. "Me too."
"Out of curiosity, why did you choose this rooftop?"
He shrugged. "You like open areas more than indoors."
Sendoh melted. This person is really perfect for him.
"And for a personal reason..." Rukawa added.
He narrowed. "What personal reason is that?"
"Hey lovebirds!" Fujima interfered. "You need to sign papers. Come on!"
"Let's go. Your pretty face is calling." Rukawa taunted. Sendoh laughed in return. "Hey, what personal reason again?" But Rukawa has already left.
Sendoh just sighed out of his nose as he scans the area where their promise of eternity will be held. That's when he noticed the only possible 'personal reason' his future husband is referring to. He chuckled at the sight of it.
Apparently, the third building to the left, across the building he is currently at, has this giant screen where a live NBA game is being played. "You ball maniac ahou!"
A/N: Eeeeeh. I know FukudaxFujima sounds a bit off. Originally it was supposed to be FujimaxMaki but I fell in love with a fic about them and for some reason, I can't ruin their image with this fic. LOL.
Thank you for reading. I don't know where I am going here... but who knows? :D
