Chapter 28

Expecting the worst, Elsa wished she'd been wrong and that Aladdin would be this prince that would come and sweep her off her feet. Wishful thinking is all it was, and the date couldn't have gone worse. "Yo waiter!" Ducking her head in embarrassment the waiter whose name tag said "Vern" on it, walked over and boredly asked "May I be of some help to you?"

"Yeah, when is our food gonna be ready I'm gonna die of starvation here" Rubbing his stomach he grinned goofily and placed both feet on the table. "What were you raised by wolves? knock that off!" Elsa said not being able to take it anymore.

still biting down on the toothpick in his mouth he scratched the back of his head and raised an eyebrow "Whats your problem?" Elsa's mouth flew open "My problem...? Ok that's it!" Anna nearly jumped over the table to cover Elsa's mouth "what she means to say is, maybe you can tone down the antics. You know for the time being"

"Whatever" He said shrugging before motioning for the waiter to leave. He did as asked with more eagerness then anything. After he'd gone, Anna gave Kristoff a light nudge under the table. He quickly got the hint and cleared his throat "So, Al. How are you liking the states so far? You know being a transfer student and all." "It's ok I guess. I'm really enjoying the women down here if you know what I mean" Elsa was becoming more annoyed then anything, what really set her off is when he started laughing and joking about all the girl's he'd already slept with and dumped.

She couldn't hold it back anymore. "In other words, your a two timing, back stabbing, egotistical..."

"Elsa!" Looking away from her sisters glare, Elsa crossed her arms in agitation "I was just saying what everyone else is thinking..." she replied bitterly. If she'd been looking, she would have noticed the grin that Aladdin was giving her and she would have seen his hand slip under the table "You know what I think? I think your just lashing out because you secretly want my..." her reaction was automatic. there was no thinking involved as she whirled around and slapped him clear across the face causing him to fall out of his chair.

As his head hit the floor All eyes were now on their table though Elsa could care less. she was thru and wanted to go home and lock herself in her bedroom for the remainder of the night. "To hell with this. I'm leaving!" Ignoring the hushed murmers of the crowded room, Anna ran after her sister who despite not being able to walk was moving fairly quickly. "Elsa wait! Elsa!" She ran thru the double doors, catching her sister out in the empty parking lot. Elsa was wiping the tears away now forcing herself to keep it together "It was a mistake to come here." She cried out, placing her hands which were visibly shaking to her sides "I should have just stayed home..." Anna's hands were clenched, she was seething was rage at this point "And done what? Cry over someone who doesn't care about you?" Elsa flinched back at her sisters words "It's better then being here." She finally said. "Is it really? Listen Els, your my sister and I love you but I just wish you could see that spending all your time crying in your room isn't gonna help. Maybe if you meet someone new they'll heal the hurt that Jack caused. I just want you to be happy again that's why I did this. I just didn't know that Aladdin was gonna be such a..."

"Pig?" Anna laughed softly "Yeah, I'll make sure that the next guy we double date with isn't such a dud." Anna now had a hand on Elsa's shoulder, elsa gave her sisters hand a gentle squeeze "Ok, just promise me one thing."

"Sure Els, anything" Anna said quickly wiping away her own tears. Elsa got quiet for a moment "Promise me that no matter how tough things get we'll stick together. No matter what."

"That's a silly thing to ask. Of course I promise." Anna replied after a moment, "Now c'mon lets head back in. I'll tell Kriss your not feeling well then when we've gotten rid of Aladdin we can go home." Nodding in approval Elsa nodded "Alright, I'll wait out here."

"You sure?" Anna was reluctant to go but Elsa smiled in reassurance "Of course. I'll be fine. I just don't wanna go back in there."

"Well...Ok..." She seemed hesitant though Elsa kept telling her she'd be fine. "Ok, I'll be out faster then you can blink" With that she ran back into the restaurant leaving Elsa to her thoughts. She turned to stare in the direction of the moon then, the air hitting her face made her feel somewhat happy and a little better then before. She couldn't help it then, her thoughts went back to the night Jack saved her life. She remembered the butterflies in her stomach when he'd grabbed her hand to keep her from falling off the roof. when he pulled her back and she fell onto his chest, she instantly felt warm and bubbly inside it was a weird yet wonderful feeling that had disappeared as fast as it had come. Placing her hands to her heart, she let out a soft sigh, absentmindedly reaching a hand out towards the moon as if she wanted to touch it though she pulled back just as quick. She wondered then if Jack was staring at the same moon thinking of her. the Dull ache in her chest began to return and she dropped Jack out of her thoughts for the moment. Though Anna could tell something was bugging Elsa she didn't press her on it. After they dropped off Elsa's 'date from hell' as Anna was playfully putting it. Kristoff began apologizing for the thousandth time claiming he had no idea Aladdin would act the way he did. After Anna assured him it wasn't his fault, the entire ride home was driven in silence.

Unable to sleep, Jim began to toss and turn. Sweat beads trickling down his forehead as he ran his fingers thru his hair and sat up in bed. Something was wrong, he didn't feel like himself. He felt weird somehow like there was this intense heat in the pit of his stomach that was slowly starting to make its way into his brain. cursing under his breath he clutched onto his chest and quickly got to his feet. he headed into the bathroom and looked at himself in the mirror. To his horror his human brown eyes were now a dark red color and his skin was paler then it had been before. He could see his once human teeth were now fangs and his hands were claws. "No..." Backing away from the mirror, he grew angry and banged his fist against the wall shouting a string of curses "No. I wont let this control me" He told himself "I haven't before so why start now." Heading back into his room he quickly rummaged thru his dresser drawer. He could feel his wings growing out from behind his back. It was a painful process, one of which he'd gotten used to. after a minute he found what he'd been searching for. It was a bottle of red pills he'd snatched from the lab he was taken to. He managed to swallow 3 of them before allowing himself to fall freely on the bed. He gazed at his hands which took mere minutes to turn back to normal. After he was sure, he'd turned human again he flipped over to his side and closed his eyes. Cursing the day he'd ever been born. "I don't know what I'm gonna do" He told himself "This can't go on forever. I WILL become human even if it kills me I can't go on like this anymore. I just can't."

When Anna and Elsa arrived home, Anna was busy laughing in the front seat. Her good mood fading when she saw who was standing on the front porch. "Uh...Elsa...?" She didn't have to say anything, Elsa saw him the minute they'd gotten into the driveway. Jack who'd been pacing back and forth stopped short when he saw the car pull up. Anna turned around towards the backseat "You want us to get rid of him for you?" Though Elsa very much wanted them to, she found herself shaking her head "No. It's ok. Just wait inside ok?"

"Wh-what? But Elsa what if..."

"Nothing's gonna happen ok? Now just go." Not moving from where she was sitting, she relented and got out of the car silently grabbing the wheelchair from the backseat and helping Elsa onto it before grabbing Kristoff's hand and leading him inside but not before giving Jack one of the most hateful glares he'd ever seen. he ignored her, his attention was on Elsa who was staring at him in confusion "What do you want?" she asked, her heart rate increasing as moved closer but she backed up. He got the hint and sat on the chair sitting up against the porch window. "Just to see how you were doing. I've missed you and don't tell me you haven't felt the same."

"You know I do but as you can see I'm trying to move on with my life and I can't do that when you keep showing up like this."

"I can't help it. Els, don't you get it? I love you and I can't just let you go as easily as I thought I could." He got up and was now leaning against the beam his hands in his pockets. "Well your going to have to" Elsa shot back "because I've moved on already." he eyed her quizzingly "HAve you really?"

"Yes as a matter of fact I HAVE" She hoped he didn't see thru her lies but being the only person besides Anna who knew her better then anyone he shook his head in disbelief. "That is a bullshit lie and your not selling me on it." He moved over to where she was and placed both hands on each of the arm rests. He leaned down towards her, they were eye to eye now. Blue on blue. Elsa could feel her heart rate increase, she hated herself for it "I know you still love me just like I love you and I'll prove it to you"

"J-Jack..." as he leaned in Elsa only had one thought going thru her head. To push him away before he kissed her though she found herself unable to do so. Her mind became a jumbled mess when his soft and warm lips made contact with hers. That's when she completely let herself go and found herself returning the kiss back. She didn't care for the moment about what he'd done all she could think was how she missed him and how her chest no longer hurt from thinking about the love that would never be.

When he pulled away, he was cradling Elsa's left cheek in his hand, his eyes filled with such love and devotion Elsa felt as if she was on cloud nine. Then she got her mind back and slapped him clear across the face. Not that he hadn't seen it coming. "No! You can't just kiss me and expect everything to be all better. You hurt me Jackson Winter's more then you can ever imagine, you fooled me once and I fell for you but thats not gonna happen again."

"I already told you I'm sorry alright. What do you want me to do? I can't take back what I did even if I could I wouldn't and do you know why? Because if I hadn't done what I did I would have never fallen in love with you!" Elsa could see just by looking into his eyes he was being sincere other wise she would have turned away from him and left him on the porch. "I wish you could understand just how much I love you. No other girl has ever stolen my heart before but you have. Elsa Arrendele I'm in love with you even if you don't feel the same way anymore I'm gonna be in your life whether you like it or not." Elsa shook her head, tears of joy coming down her cheeks "You stupid Ice head. Don't you get it? I've never stopped loving you, even if you did hurt me I still and truly do care for you I just can't trust you anymore."

"then I'll earn your trust back just don't kick me out of your life again. Please, I couldn't take it." After an entire minute of painful silence Elsa motioned for Jack to follow her inside "Lets get inside and talk some more. we have a LOT to talk about and we can't do it out here." Feeling over the moon with Joy Jack did an air fist pump and casually followed her in. A pair of eyes watching them from behind a bush. She quickly got on her cellphone "Hey Hans it's me. We got a problem."
