Chapter 29

After a lot of talking and a bunch more arguing, it was decided that Elsa would give Jack another chance however there were conditions, some of which were a bit hard to swallow. He was sure as hell gonna try his hardest. He had to if he was gonna keep Elsa in his life.

One of the first conditions was they would go back to being friends. Jack hated this idea though Elsa pressed it was temporary until she felt she could trust him again. He begrudgenly agreed to it, the second condition was a bit easier to get down. There was to be no more lying, to her or anyone else she loved. She was also pretty much thru with being in the dark about Jack's past and wanted to know all of it.

So they sat down for a while and Jack started at the beginning. He wanted her to know how he'd gotten the way he had been.
"It started when I was just 8 years old" He began, his voice somber and grim as he began to recall his childhood days which were anything but happy.

He nearly broke down in tears while recalling some of the memories he'd wished he'd forgotten. Elsa couldn't take seeing him nearly in tears so allowed him to stop. She held him in her arms for the remainder of the night. Neither saying a word.

The next thing they knew, they had fallen asleep on the bed. Both facing one another. Jack's hand was outstretched and holding Elsa's. This is the way Anna found them the next morning, not wanting to disturb them she headed down to make breakfast.

after flipping over the 3rd pancake she heard Jack walking into the room "Hey Sleepy head. how'd it go with you and Elsa last night?"
allowing himself to drop on the chair, he groggily rubbed his eyes before stretching. Anna couldn't help but stare at his muscles which were flexing underneath his white T-shirt. He noticed her stare and she quickly looked away, pretending to be busy with the pancakes.

He said nothing about it, only giving a small shrug "Pretty good actually. Your sister's something special"
"I know" Anna placed 2 pancakes in front of him, though he didn't have the heart to tell her his disdain for sweet things. He forced himself to take two bites. Elsa who was wheeling herself into the room caught a quick glance at his face as he forced himself to swallow the piece of pancake.

He noticed her right away and smiled so big Elsa thought his lips would fall off "morning, Snowflake. How'd you sleep?"
"Like a rock." Taking the plate from her sister she joined Jack's side watching as he cut another fairly large piece and tried to get it down.

"You dont have to eat it if you don't want." She said in a low voice "she's not gonna kill you if you say you dont like it." He shot her a funny look and grinned "She might" Elsa couldn't help it then, she let out a small giggle. trying in vain to cover it up by putting her hand over her mouth.

Confused Anna turned to see what they were laughing at but Elsa bit down on her lip before she pretended to look at her watch "Oh look at the time. I gotta get going. North wants me to meet him today to discuss somethings."

'"What kind of things?" Anna was curious now but Elsa refused to tell her "Just things." She gulped down her breakfast so fast she nearly choked as a peice went down the wrong pipe. she started coughing up a storm, her face turning red as she struggled to breath. Immediately noticing, Jack grabbed the cup of water Anna had given him and handed it to Elsa, patting her back as she grabbed it and took a giant swig. After a moment she was able to breath properly again though Jack was still worried

"You ok?" He asked.

Elsa managed to nod "Yeah I'm fine, thank you." She shot him a sweet sort of smile, giggling when he started to blush. "What?" He questioned, Elsa looked away feeling slightly flustered "Nothing." She murmured softly, the smile still clearly evident on her face.

"I- I'm gonna go now" She said quickly before wheeling herself into the living room. She didn't account for the three deadbolts on the door and had trouble opening it, Jack noticed and quickly went to help her. She didn't look to happy but said nothing about it until they were outside and Jack grabbed the wheel chair handles "Hey. Whats wrong?"

"Nothing..." She lied. though he didn't fall for it. "Its obviously something. Now tell me whats wrong so we can fix it."

Trying her best to keep her voice from shaking, she gazed down at her hands "This is a problem you CANT fix."

"Maybe we can if you tell me what it is" He pressed, "C'mon now. Tell me."

"Alright" She finally said relenting. "I'm tired of being in this damn wheel chair I wanna learn to walk again but its just soo hard"
He thought over his words carefully "that may be true but you can't give up. Now that I'm back in your life I refuse to let you do it, you'll learn to walk again Elsa Anderson I promise."

Overjoyed with happiness, she didn't protest when Jack leaned down and held her in a warm embrace. She felt the hot tears coming down her cheeks but didn't stop them. She only dug her head into his chest and clutched onto his back tightly. "Now listen." He pulled away for the moment "the doctor says its all in your head. That you can walk anytime you feel like it. You just need to get over what happened to you."

"Yeah but how?"

He thought it over for a minute before smiling "I have an idea." Grabbing the handles he pushed her wheelchair forward "Let's go."

"To where?" She asked slightly curious though all she got from him was a "You'll see." Which she didn't like the sound of but didn't protest.

000000000000

"Are you crazy? no way!" Having now been parked outside the facility Elsa had been kidnapped and taken to for 15 minutes now, she continued to protest. Fear rising up inside her as the flashbacks started returning.

"Look Els, I know your scared..."

"Uh, ya think?" Trying to calm her shaky voice she pinched the bridge of her nose and took in a deeply needed amount of breath "Jack please just take me home. I- I don't wanna be here..."

"No" jack protested "Els, don't you see? the only way your gonna be able to walk again is if you face your fears and get over what happened to you. Now I'm pleading with you to at least try."
Refusing to relent, Elsa crossed her arms and looked away "No." She said again more firmly. "And there's no way your gonna make me."

"Alright thats it." When he turned his gaze towards Elsa dropped her defense. His gaze which had ahold of her was filled with more anger then anything "If you wont do this for me at least do it for Anna."
Her mouth dropped but he continued "How the hell do you think it makes your sister feel to see you like this? You have no idea how much this is hurting her."

"Hurting HER...Now hold on..."

"No you hold on" He interrupted "Get this thru that stubborn head of yours. theres no way I'm starting this car until you at least agree to give my idea a chance we don't even have to be here long I just want you to put in the effort to go in if only for a few minutes."

Elsa who was clutching her stomach now, was holding back the vile in her throat. All the horrible things that had happened to her came flooding back but it was different this time. It was all blocked out by images of her sisters smiling face.
She grew quiet for a moment "Ok." She finally said. "I'll do it. J-Just promise me that you wont leave my side even for a second."
Nodding in agreement, he grabbed her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze "No problem." Sucking in a deep breath Elsa managed to stop her shaking "Well c'mon, lets get this over with." Secretly in her head she couldn't help but think 'what the hell am I doing? I must be out of my damn mind.
