"Nice, idn't it? Family life?" Eddy asked Patsy one night as they got into bed.

"Yeah," Pats agreed. "Good to see the little girl settled."

"D'you like Tony?" Eddy wanted to know.

"I do," Patsy said. "He's a good mate."

"Not your Jack, though," Eddy pointed out.

"No," Patsy replied, remembering her son, "but he's all right with me, Eddy."

"Yeah… Yeah…" Eddy sighed. "Me, too."

"Makes a hell of a gin and tonic," Patsy said. "The girl married up for sure."

"Well," Eddy joked, "she couldn't've married much farther down."

"No, you already showed her how that's done," Patsy snickered.
