Once Jack and I got back into the city, we headed towards the east part of town to pay a visit to Dr. Henry Jekyll, an old friend of mine who may be able to help us find out who the button and cloth belonged to and help us figure out something about the apples.

"Hello?" spoke the wrinkled, white haired man opening the door.

"Jekyll." I nodded "We need your help."

"Doc, please come in. Make yourself at home."

Jack and I stepped through the crickety wooden door, wiping our feet on the welcome mat on the stone step outside.

"So, how may I help you my friend." asked Jekyll, sitting at his desk and drinking his tea.

"We need you to look at this cloth and this button." I informed him, taking out the items.

"A simple cloth and a button?" chuckled Jekyll, taking the cloth and the button "Is that all?"

"Yeah." I answered.

"You must have some reason to want me to examine these items."

"I do." I told him, hoping he'd stop asking questions "Jekyll, I'm not allowed to discuss police business with anyone but my partner."

"I understand." sighed Jekyll "At least I get to help out in some way."

"Listen Jekyll," I started, getting up from the seat to stretch my legs "I know it gets a little boring being stuck in this place, but maybe after you examine the evidence I could take you to the bar and we can grab some drinks. What do you say?"

"I appreciate the offer, but you know I can't." sighed Jekyll, trying to hide the tears in his eyes.

"I understand." I answered.

After talking with Jekyll for a while Jack and I decided to leave and head back to our homes.

"I feel bad for him." said Jack, getting into the driver's seat.

"Yeah." I frowned while buckling myself in.

"What's the story?" asked Jack, starting the engine.

"He saved me from himself." I answered simply "He sometimes have claimed that I'm the one that saved him, but that's far from the truth."

"Really?" asked Jack "Did he ever get cured?"

"No." I frowned "But he's trying to come up with something."

"Damn." sighed Jack "I can't imagine how hard it must be."

"Yeah." I replied "Could you drive me to the bar? I need a drink."

"Sure."

"And Jack, why don't you go home and rest until tomorrow. I'm still planning to go back Em's house."

"You sure Doc?"

"Yeah. I'm sure."
