Hermione sat and chewed on her lower lip, fuck she knew they would not make it to base camp before tonights full moon. She had never turned out with a cell, never accidentally killed someone as the wolf. No she had only killed when she was herself and she wanted to kill someone.

She wasn't worried about Draco's safety, having said that if she did kill him then she would die too. Lupin and his stupid idea to link them together. Fucking Lupin and his stupid ideas. Fucking Lupin.

She was worried for the safety of any muggles that she might happen upon.

Her nails scrapped her scalp as she tried to massage away the pressure building in her head. She spotted her beaded bag and took out a box of painkillers and the vodka she had acquired from the shop.

The one thing Hermione knew with certainty was the muggle medication was nothing compared to the potions she could get in the wizarding world but she had to make do with what she could get her hands on. She took four of the tablets and swallowed them down with half the bottle of vodka grimacing at the vile taste. Hopefully the painkillers would dull the pain or the vodka would. If either took the edge off she would be incredibly grateful.

The bottle of vodka was yanked from her grasp.

"You really shouldn't put that poison into your body you know." Hermione laughed as she stood up and yanked the bottle back out of Malfoy's grasp.

"Prey tell Malfoy why would you care what I put into this filthy mudblood body of mine? I didn't realise you cared." She noticed his lips twitched.

"I couldn't give two shits about you, but we are linked together and until we are unlinked I don't want you dying on me. There's only one person I care about and it sure as hell isn't you."

"Such sweet words Malfoy, such a pure blood gentleman. Mummy must be so proud."

Draco's hand wrapped around Hermione's throat, his rings felt cool against her skin. Her blood hummed beneath her skin as goosebumps began to appear.

"You would be wise not to mention my mother Granger, unless you want to die a painful death." Hermione laughed.

His large rough hand wrapped around her throat, it was so easy to wrap one of his hands around her throat, she was petite compared to his tall stature. He could feel her pulse, he expected it to be rapped, for her to be frightened of him. He was sorely disappointed to find that her heart rate was normal, her breathing was normal. She wasn't scared of him, there was no startled look on her face, no wide eyes. The fact was he could crush her wind pipe like - that - and she was totally indifferent to it. Where was the fun if the person you are trying to ruin isn't scared of you?

All of a sudden pain radiated from his groin, she had full forced kneed him right between his legs and he landed hard on the ground with a grunt. His body taking the impact of hitting the forest floor. Lying in the dirt clutching at himself, taking in sharp lungfuls of oxygen while silently casting a spell to help dull the ache between his legs.

He looked up at her, she was fucking smirking, staring down at him, like she was meant to be above him - always. Like she was the superior one and he was the trash that should be lying on the cold dirty floor. Fucking bitch.

Her filthy boot pressed on his chest and her brown eyes bore into his grey ones. He saw the flicker of joy dancing in her eyes and he couldn't wait to snuff it out like blowing out a match. He would snuff any last announce of joy in her life and then snuff her out of existence.

"Don't ever put your filthy hands around my throat ever again. You have no right to fucking touch me." He could see the joy that was there mere moments ago being replaced by hard steel. She was irked, annoyed, down right pissed off by the fact he had touched her.

Taking his opportunity he struck, yanked her leg hard, she cried out in pain and landed beside him. His large frame was now over her smaller frame, she was trapped between him and the ground. She thrashed, kicked, screamed even tried to bite and hit him. He was stronger, but only just. For being smaller than him she had a strength about her that was formidable.

"Listen hear Granger. Once we have been unlinked the first thing I am going to do is crush your throat with my fucking bare hands. I am going to enjoy hearing you gasp for air, trying to heave in lungfuls of it as I feel your bones snap. Listen to you gargle as you chock on your own filthy blood. As I feel your heart stop and watch that light leave your eyes. That to me Granger, that will be the best damn day of my life when I can look at your cold dead corpse and know that you are dead - forever."

She spat right in his face, her eyes wild like a rabid dog. He drew back his hand prepared to strike her. She wasn't a woman, no woman would behave like this, no if she wanted to act like a rabid dog Draco would treat her like one.

"Do your worst you pathetic-"

A snapping of a branch drew their attention to deeper in the forest, voices, crunching of gravel beneath boots, someone was coming towards them.

"Well well what do we have ere? Looks like daddy is going to be disappointed when I tell him what we are seeing ere." Draco took in the man, he was dishevelled with lank dirty hair his clothes looked like he had been wearing them for months. He was a snatcher, Draco couldn't place his name, quite frankly he didn't give a shit.

"Maybe once you ave finished with er I'll gets me a shot, Potters ore I bet has a nice tight cunt." Draco could feel Hermione recoil under him, almost like she was trying to make herself seem smaller under him.

"You'll do well to keep your mouth shut Abarus or I'll shut it for you permanently." The blonde hair of Yaxley shone in the glow of the sunset.

"What is the meaning of this?" Draco pulled himself off of Hermione, dusting himself down. Hermione scrambled off the floor putting distance between herself and the men.

"Your father requires you back, says you have had enough time and that your duty is to the council not some foolish act of revenge." Draco sighed heavily. Fucking father.

"Said we should use force if we need too but I'd rather not. So what will it be? Either you kill the mudblood or I do? Either way she's not leaving here alive."

The man Abarus kept staring at her, his toothy grin black and putrid. She could smell him before she had even seen him, he smelt like a rotting corpse and it made her want to heave.

A man with blonde hair appeared, Hermione recognised him but she couldn't place his name, a follower of Voldemort that she was sure of, slightly higher in the ranks but not as high up as Malfoy.

She wasn't listening to the conversation between the men she was too busy listening to the others, 10 in total excluding herself and Malfoy. She could hear their breathing, the blood rushing through their veins, the beating of their hearts.

Hermione looks the sun is setting. She had fifteen minutes tops before she would begin to transform, there was no where to run, no where to hide. It was going to happen here in this forrest surrounded by death eaters and snatchers. She could think of worse places to turn. If she was going to turn and kill people it may as well be the filth of the wizarding world.

"You are not killing her. She will die but not yet, only when I say so." Hermione looked towards Draco she noticed his grey eyes were dark like steel. His hands gripped at his sides, anger was coming off him in waves. She could feel the fury.

"He's gone soft, fucking soppy bollocks. I owe Greyback twenty galleons, he said he'd never kill Potters ore." At the mention of Greybacks name Hermione's vision blurred, anger consumed her, then a blinding pain. Cracking, crunching, bones breaking, twisting and morphing into something monstrous before everything went black.

"Touch her -"

Hermione fell to the floor, her body contorting and moving violently. Draco could hear her bones breaking, watched as they moved like snakes beneath her skin, twisting, slithering into different positions. Nails extending into claws that would slice through skin like silk. She screamed like her body was being torn apart.

She was - transforming.

Yaxley backed away slowly, his blue eyes blown wide. Draco could see the look of fear written all over his face. He had no idea what he was walking into.

"She's - she's a - she's a -"

"The word you are looking for is werewolf." A blur of silvery coloured fur flashed past Draco.

"Where - how?" A scream made the two men spin in the direction the screams came from, somewhere deep in the forest. Then another and another. The nights sky was pierced by the screaming of people dying, of her victims.

"I don't think she likes your friends Yaxley. In fact I would say she's pretty pissed off right now." Yaxley looked at the smirking blonde.

"You - you aren't afraid of her." The manic laugh Draco let out had Yaxley backing away.

"No because she will not harm me, because I know something you don't and you will never know. Even the council won't see this coming."

Another scream, and a shadow came out the woods. Draco could see the wolf - Granger, the moonlight bouncing off her silver fur. Bright red blood dripped from her muzzle, she stalked towards the men. A noise in the distance distracted her for a moment. Abarus took off running, seizing his opportunity to escape. The wolfs golden eyes looked at Draco and then Yaxley before taking off after Abarus through the trees.

Draco heard a sickening scream, pleading and then silence. The hunter got its prey.

Yaxley looked at Draco in alarm, he knew he was next, that she was coming for him. He swirled and landed right back in the same place.

"What the fuck! Why - can't I - what have you done?" Yaxley snarled at Draco.

"Just set up an anti apparition area around us." Yaxley eyes grew even larger, veins stared to pop out on his neck.

"Why you - how did you?" There was a tremble to Yaxley's voice, he was terrified. Draco pointed.

"I would love to explain it all to you Yaxley but you bore me, you and all the council members bore me, old men stuck in old ways, the old ways aren't working. Now is the time for new ideas, a new era and I'm afraid Yaxley there's no room for a bottom feeding jumped up little prick like you. Now if I were you I would start running because she's going to come for you."

Yaxley got five feet away before she flattened him to the floor, teeth snarling, Yaxley screaming and then gurgling and gasping filled the night sky as Granger ripped out Yaxley's throat. His red blood spread around the forest floor painting it like a beautiful canvas.

She turned to Draco, snarling, teeth snapping, blood dripping off of her glorious white canines. Draco didn't move, he stood his ground.

She stalked towards him, growling. He could see the different colours in her fur, silver, white and darker greys. It looked soft, like she could be soft to touch.

Draco stretched out his hand, his breathing was even and calm. He showed no fear. She sniffed his hand her gold eyes never breaking contact with his grey ones.

Her muzzle nudged his hand, he felt it - the electricity between them. He could feel his magic it was trying to connect with hers. Then the connection vanished.

She turned looking over her shoulder at him and then she was gone.

"She won't get far, I set up the boundary like we discussed." Draco turned to be greeted by his second.

"Did you see her in action? She's exactly what we need."

"Are you sure she has what we need? Remember she was part of the Golden Trio, that doesn't just vanish."

"No but I know exactly how to break her and once she's broken and lost all hope I will put her back together and build her into the greatest weapon we have ever seen." Draco looked into the forest.

"Now I suggest you get back and tell the others that the plan is in motion. The cleanse is coming."

There was a flash and a crack and Draco now stood in the forest, a lone howl the only thing he could hear.

Sunlight danced through the leaves of the trees as Hermione opened her eyes. Her body ached all over, she tried to stand and fell hard on the ground. She cried out as pain ricocheted throughout her body.

She looked over her body, she was filthy, covered in mud and blood. She stared around in alarm. The ground a mixture of mud and blood, so much blood and body parts strewn through as far as she could see. What had she done? She remember Abarus mentioning Greyback, then the anger and then she changed.

Had she done this? Had she killed them all?

"Look who is awake!" Hermione saw Draco leaning against a tree not a hair out of place, not a mark on him.

"Did - was this - did I do this?" She could feel the panic coursing through her blood.

"Yes Granger this was all your handy work, I have to admit I was rather impressed, shame you can't be the wolf all the time. I think I prefer the beast to you." She glared at him.

"How many?" She couldn't tell how many bodies there were, there was too many parts. So much blood.

"Ten in total, but don't cry over them Granger they were all snatchers and death eaters. The bad guys if you will."

Hermione stood her legs slightly wobbling, she looked at Draco who was lazily scanning her, she became acutely aware that she was naked. Very naked.

"Can you -" Nausea and dizziness overtook her. She waited to hit the ground but she never did, instead strong hands grabbed her around the waist. A cloak made of the softest material wrapped around her.

"I've got you Granger, now let's get out of here."

A crack

A whirl

Everything went black.
