It's been a slow day on the market, no people have been seen, Jay was so bored, he's read the same book cover to cover over two times now. Not once has he looked up from his book, he's been in his own world too long that he forgot, he went to help his father that day on the flower stand, but a voice calling his name took him out of his orbit.
"Jay, Jay" a voice kept calling, Jay snapped his head up to his father in front of him.
"What?" he asked annoyed
"The Voight's are coming" his father said almost shouting
"So?" bitterness on his voice
"So?" his father imitated him "So stand up, to receive them"
Jay let out a puff before standing up from the little chair he was sitting on and setting the book nearby, he was standing next to his father, annoyed for being interrupted from reading and wanting this to be over. There was a moment where all the whispers stopped and all stood there in silence looking forward out of respect.
The Voight family started walking into the market, Camille Voight had a day dress Victorian light emerald green dress, her hair was down with a flower with a little stray of hair keeping it there, Hank Voight is wearing a double-breasted frock coat in dark blue over a buff waistcoat. His gray trousers have straps under his shoes. His slightly conical tall hat sits on top of his head, while their son Justin wears the same this his father is wearing, their daughter Erin wears a red elaborately-ruffled, draped brocade gown, her hair is a dark golden brown, her hair was curled down with a pin holding half of it.
Erin had the same face expression as Jay – bored, annoyed – she was walking looking to every shop, her dad stopped to see some hats with Justin, Camille stopped to see hair pins and Erin, well Erin was looking at everything across from where the rest of her family was, she wanted to be as far as she could be from them.
"Erin" her mom walked over to where her daughter was and whisper to her ear "Let's go and see some other things"
Erin looked up from where she was looking at her mother who had a soft smile on her smile, Erin gave her a small smile in return.
"Anything you saw you liked?" her mother asked
"No" she said with a little harshness in her voice
Erin and Camille waited for Justin and Hank to finish looking at stuff. When the family of four reunited they started walking again. Erin's gaze was on the floor until her mom put her hand on hers and she looked for their hands to her mother who gave a motherly smile and turned back to see something to buy.
During the time they have been there a lot of people had arrived, wanting to see the Voight family, at that market Jay's family flower stand was the only one there, and people really seemed to like the flowers they were selling, Jay's stand was pretty packed up, he was receiving orders from his dad to bring him more flowers, Jay himself started selling the flowers too as to how many people were there.
There were so many people that he almost missed a pair of hazel eyes looking his way, it was fast, so fast that he immediately looked away, but instantly looked back up to see those pretty hazel eyes still looking at him, he stopped what he was doing and admired her, and her beautiful eyes. She gave him a small smile, that barely showed her dimples, but were noticeable to any pair of eyes, he then realized he liked that smile, it was definitely the most beautiful smile he has ever seen.
He then felt a nudge on the arm making him be taken from his train of thoughts, he looked away to keep doing was he was doing, she the stand was less crowded, his eyes started searching for the girl with the very distinctive red dress, but his eyes couldn't find her anywhere, he then realized she was gone.

It has been a pretty long day for her, but she was grateful her parents drag her to the market with them, because there was no way she could have met the guy with the baby blue eyes anywhere else. Today she was supposed to be going to her one of her best friend's house – Nadia. Erin was mad at them, that was the only day she could see her that week, but it was their weekly go out as a family day, but after the events that day, she was completely happy.
Her eye catching him was completely accidental, she was looking around the market, when she spotted a tall, muscular figure walking around the flower stand, her eyes followed him as he gave people different types of flowers, until he caught her looking at him, she then noticed that he couldn't keep his eyes off of her so she smiled at him, which made him just not want to stop looking. She kept looking at him even after his father made him continue working.
Her mother whispered something to her ear but she couldn't make what she was saying, until Camille grabbed her daughter's hand and turned around to the place they first came from. Not once taking her eyes off of him.
On their way back all she had on her mind was his baby blue eyes looking at her hazel ones, just thinking about it made her cheeks turn pink. This didn't go unnoticed by her family who watched the action but opted not to ask about it, not wanting to bother her
When they got back to the mansion, she was the first to get down from the carriage, when she was halfway down the hall that led to her bedroom, she felt someone coming close to her.
"So, I watched you blush on the carriage, care to tell me what - or who - made my sister blush?" Justin said in somewhat of a serious and mocking tone.
"None of your business" she said, eyeing him and giving him a small smile before opening her bedroom door and closing it, leaving a very curious Justin on what - or who - could have made Erin blush.
She went straight to her bathroom, and washed her face with cold water, trying to keep him out of her mind, that didn't do it, she walked towards a desk she had near the window and grabbed a book she was somewhat reading, but that worked. Until her mind went to think about him.
She let out a frustrated sight, closed the book aggressively and jumped to her bed face down, until she looked to the clock and looked it was almost time for dinner. How much time have I spent thinking about him? she thought

It was almost 7 o'clock it was getting dark and everyone was closing so they could go eat dinner after a very busy day.
Jay and his father were walking back to their house. Jay was looking to the floor, thinking about her, somehow during the last couple of hours she was the only thing he could think about. Jay could hear his father talking about something, he wasn't sure exactly what it was, he was too wrapped up in his mind with her. He heard his father's voice get louder as he was saying his name, until Jay looked up.
"Mhm" he said, looking at his dad, who was staring at him in confusion
"What are you thinking about?" his father asked preoccupation on his tone
"Nothing," he lied. His father could tell he was lying, Jay was not a good liar, but he decided not to push it to leave it like that.
Jay couldn't like a Voight that was wrong, his parents always told him that he couldn't that it went against every social standard, but whenever he thought of her dimple smile and her eyes, a smile made on his face and he forgot about what society saw right or wrong. He hadn't act like this before, not even with his ex-girlfriend – Abby - and he was scared of his feeling towards her, how would she look at a guy like him? A guy whose father sells flowers, whose mother died when he was just a kid. He came to the conclusion that she wouldn't in a million years look at him like that.
He was wrong though

During dinner with her family Erin barely touched her food, she was too smiley at the thought of his blue eyes looking at her. She knew that she couldn't like the guy, her dad would totally freak out, and how would that even work? Did he secretly visit or did she? Would they meet in some kind of secret spot they'll have?
She was taken out of her train of thoughts when her father shouted her name, angry at the fact that she hadn't eaten a bit from the food that was in front of her. She apologized and ate her food. When she finished she excused herself and went straight into her bedroom, minutes later there was a knock on her door.
"Can I come in?" Her mother said, her face picking through the door, Erin gave her a nod. Her mother sat on the edge of the bed just next to where Erin's feet were.
"What does this regard, mother?" Erin said, now resting her back and head on the headboard
"You have been acting strange, dear" Camille said, trying to find any kind of expression on her daughter's face. Nothing. "You didn't talk on our way back, and you hardly ate. Is there something you want to tell me?"
Erin considered it for a few seconds. But opted with "No, mother there is nothing to tell, I'm just growing up, that is all" She said almost annoyed that her mother was asking her that "Now if you'll excuse me I want to fall asleep"
After that her mother left the room, leaving Erin in the darkness of her room, putting herself in the position she was before her mother entered, she had to find a way to see him again, that was the last thing she thought before the sleep won her over.
A/N: This is my first fic so IDK if people will like it or will even read it, but just please don't hate, thank you :) Also Jay is 26 and Erin 24.
