Hello everyone! I'm so sorry for my hiatus, for a long time writing became more of a stressor than an outlet for my stress, so I didn't write for a very long time. Hopefully now that I have a break, I can start updating and finishing more of my stories and I can find joy in this again. As always I don't own any of Miraculous Ladybug or its characters. And I hope you guys enjoy the first part of Magnus and Adaline's little date. :)

Adaline wanders around Magnus's room as he changes in the bathroom. It was a very clean room with a spiral staircase leading up to a balcony, a loft bed, and lots of mannequins in various states of dress. All of the designs were beautiful and Adaline couldn't help but admire Magnus's work as he came in. "I meant to clean up before you arrived, but I got a little busy with my mom."

The blonde turns and offers a sweet smile. "I don't mind, they're all beautiful, even the ones that aren't finished."

Magnus smiles as a light blush ghosts his cheeks, "uh, thanks. It's a bit of a stress relief hobby, I get lost in the designing process and it's easy to forget everything troubling me."

Adaline cocks her head, "troubling you?" She echoes.

"Uh, yeah. School and everything, and all the Akuma attacks are getting a little stressful, don't you think?" Magnus says hurriedly as his face burns an even brighter scarlet.

"Yes I agree, it's a shame that Hawkmoth hasn't been caught yet," Adaline mutters as she turns back to the design she had been admiring. It was a red and black polka dot dress. "Are you a fan of Ladybug? The dress feels like you're paying homage to him."

Magnus chuckles, "yes actually, I figured since he's part of the best superhero team in Paris, I might take a turn in creating a design for him. Even if it is something he will never wear."

Adaline giggles as she continues down the line of his designs, "I don't know how you can come up with all of these."

Magnus falls into her slow step as she circles his room, "well when you have a lot of inspiration, it's simple."

"What is your inspiration? Other than the Miraculous team?"

"I sometimes go onto my balcony and people watch when I have a free moment and sketch what I think about when I see them. Or I see something and imagine what it would look like from a different perspective. It's difficult at times, especially since my muse…uh…" Magnus trails off, he was definitely not about to tell Adaline that his muse was her.

"Your muse?"

Magnus mentally hit himself, he needed to redirect somehow, or lie so Adaline wouldn't find out his embarrassing secret. "Well, my designs here may focus more on Ladybug, but that's mainly because he's such a transparent superhero to design around. My main inspiration is actually…Cat Noir."

The poor boy walked over to his design table and picked up one of the many sketchbooks lying around. He sat on his comfy chair and motioned for Adaline to join him. The blonde sits next to him, and watches as Magnus begins to slowly flip through the book, showing her numerous sketches of the black-clad superheroine. There were numerous drawings and sketches, some simply with line art and others with full blown color. Adaline recognized a few poses from magazine articles featuring the duo, but she realized that Ladybug was left out so they were solely of her. "These are…wonderful." Adaline breathed as she studied each one.

Adaline was a model, therefore she had had hundreds of thousands of photos taken of her, but never before had she seen someone go to such lengths as drawing her in full blown detail. And each sketch that Magnus had done of her, made her look like the dangerous and mischievous crimefighter she tried to portray everyday. Adaline looked up at Magnus and smiled, "you've gone to such length to capture every detail of her. They're truly amazing."

Magnus was sure he went as red as the suit he would wear in his alter ego. He never thought he'd show these to anyone, let alone his crush. And to have her like them? He was on cloud nine. "Well I mean…I don't think Cat Noir gets nearly the amount of recognition she deserves, you know? Everyone is always so focused on Ladybug just because he catches the akuma, but I don't think Ladybug would be able to do anything without his counterpart. I may not design her a whole lot, but that's only because I don't think I could do her justice."

"I think she'd be just as impressed with these as I am." Adaline murmurs as she continues to look at the book.

As the book continued, the drawings became more imaginative, with alterations to Cat Noir's suit, and even the blonde depicted in everyday street clothes. "I don't know why you wouldn't try and create these clothes in real life, I'm sure a department store would make a fortune off of selling merchandise like this. Oh! I could show some of these to my mother! She's been trying to come up with designs for more mainstream day-wear."

Magnus's eyes widened, "oh Adaline I couldn't ask you to do that. Besides, a lot of these are just for fun, I never really planned on showing anybody."

"But you showed me." The girl prompted as she scanned Magnus's face.

"Well I…I mean yes I guess I d-did but I didn't…I mean, you know how I am Adaline…I-I just don't really like to be the center of attention." Magnus looked away, unable to handle the intense stare of the girl who held his heart.

"I think you should show off your gift, Magnus." Adaline shrugs as she stands up from the couch to continue looking around his room. "Why, if I could do half the things you can I would."

Magnus scoffs, "Adaline you've lived at the center of attention your entire life. You have more talent in your little toe than I do."

Adaline shrugs again, tracing a finger along Magnus's desk. "All I'm good at are things I've been trained to do by my mother. She chose everything that I do in my free time, and I try to excel at them to get her approval. There isn't anything that I do now that I do for myself." Adaline accidentally bumps the mouse to Magnus's computer, causing the screen to light up.

Luckily for Magnus, the first thing that pops up on the screen is the loading screen for Ultimate Mecha Strike III. Adaline gasps, "you play Ultimate Mecha Strike III?!"

Magnus nods hesitantly, "yeah, it's one of my favorite games."

Adaline turns to Magnus, and the boy is helpless seeing the absolute joy on her face at the sight of the videogame. "Can we play?!"

For the next hour, Adaline and Magnus sit in front of his computer to play the game. Magnus discovered that Adaline loved to trash talk as she played, and he even found himself responding to her as they each tried to gain the upper hand. All too soon, Magnus heart a knock on his bedroom door. "Magnus honey? The cheesecakes are ready! And your father should be done with dinner soon!"

Of course the distraction from his mother gave Adaline the perfect chance to land the winning blow on Magnus's avatar, winning the game and their competition. "Yes! Haha, that's the game! Adaline 5, Magnus 3!" She yells in delight.

"I was distracted." Magnus grumbles as he places the controller down.

Adaline jumps up and does a little victory dance that causes Magnus to smile. "I am the Queen of Ultimate Mecha Strike III!" She points to Magnus as she breaks up into laughter, "bow before me peasant!"

Magnus rolls his eyes and stands up to do a mock bow, "now would her highness care to join me downstairs for cheesecake?"
Adaline skips to the door, "why of course, nothing is a better reward than cheesecake."

Hi guys! Sorry for the short chapter, I started this before I lost touch with writing and wasn't completely sure where I was going with this, but I wanted to get an update in there. Hopefully as I continue this my writing style will become less awkward and I can bring these characters out a little more. I would like to answer a question from one of my comments though, because I definitely understand where it was coming from.

In this story, it kind of starts at the beginning of the show where Magnus has a crush on Adaline, but some of you were confused about why Adaline seemed to have more of a crush on Magnus than on Ladybug. I personally did not know how long this story was going to be, so I thought to speed it along a little bit I would give Adaline more of a reciprocated crush on Magnus while still allowing her to have a crush on Ladybug. In future chapters (maybe even the next one) I'll explore her conflicted feelings for you guys and explain it a little better in the actual storyline than in this little "Author's Note".
