Meanwhile…

Summer Bay – Yabbie Creek - Northern Districts Hospital – Hallway

After noticing the time, Sally had decided to finish visiting Bianca and head home.

Closing the door behind her then turning she walked straight into Brad knocking what she had in her hands on the floor.

"Sorry." Both said as they bent down to pick up what had been dropped.

"That was my fault." Sally quickly added.

"No, it was my fault." Brad said to her as they both stood back up, handing her the pile of magazines "I guess we are both as clumsy as each other."

"Yeah, I guess so." Sally laughed.

"So, what brings you here?"

"Oh, em I'm keeping Bianca supplied with trashy magazines. What about you?"

"Oh, I'm just meeting Rachel." Brad told her.

Sally smiled in response.

"I'm surprised, I thought you would have been chained to your desk. You know writing that report about that science teacher."

"News travels fast."

"Big scandal, small town."

"Yeah, well suspending Steve certainly wasn't the highlight of my career."

"There is a downside to being acting principal."

"Yeah, which makes me think I'm crazy for wanting to make it permanent."

"Ohh, you're applying for the full-time gig?"

"Yeah, interview's next week."

"Good on you." Brad said "Well, if you need any tips let me know. I've been through a few of those interviews now."

With a hint of shock in her voice, Sally replied: "Oh, well that would be great. I would like some advice, I'm really nervous."

"Well, how about this evening?" Brad suggested "Drop by the house, if you want."

"That sounds great thank you." Sally said before adding "It gives my lot a chance to fend for themselves this evening. Anyway I better not get you into trouble"

Brad laughed at that comment and then said: "Hmm?"

"With Rachel."

"Right, yeah she hates to be kept waiting." Brad said causing them both to laugh a little.

Suddenly they were interrupted by a phone ringing, Sally went to open her bag: "Sorry."

Knowing she was going to be busy, Brad said: "I'll leave you to it."

With that he disappeared down the hall, while Sally answered her phone: "Leah hi."

(4:53pm) 28 minutes later…

Summer Bay – Leah and Dan's House – Kitchen

Rachel was sat at the table on her phone when Leah walked back into the room.

"Thanks, bye." Leah said as she hung up the phone.

At the same time, Dan arrived home: "There's no sign of him."

"Well, I've called everyone we know and they're keeping an eye out." Leah informed him as she put the house phone down.

"Well, from what you told me about Drew, it just sounds like he's just testing his limits." Rachel told them both.

"Or he's wrapped himself around a telegraph pole." Dan sighed just as there was sound from outside.

"Heyyy." Came a voice from outside.

Noticing her friend, Leah said: "Hey Sal, you didn't have to come over."

"I was passing…" Sally said stopping mid-sentence when she saw Rachel sat at the table "I thought you were meeting Brad at the hospital?"

"No." Rachel said slightly confused.

"Ok, anyway what can I do?" Sally asked them.

"Well, we've got three cars between us." Dan said just as the noise of a door opening came from the living room that they didn't hear "We can take an area each."

Standing up Rachel said: "That's a great idea."

"No sign of him, then I guess we call the police." Dan said just as footsteps were heard entering the kitchen.

"Woah." Drew said seeing them all stood in the kitchen "What's going on?"

"Where the hell have you been?" Dan demanded to know.

"Out, what's the big deal?"

"Well, the big deal is you stole a car, and you took off."

"I didn't steal it." Drew said placing the keys on the little table beside the pantry "I borrowed it."

"Dan." Leah said calmly.

"What? So, you didn't think we'd be worried about you? We thought you had an accident."

"Well I didn't, so just chill out will you."

"Hang on." Leah jumped into the conversation "We didn't hear a car pull up."

"Erm, that's because I walked home. It ran out of petrol a few ks out of town."

"Right, so you just left it there. You didn't think to call us?" Dan pointed out to his nephew.

"No." Drew replied before walking away.

Calling after him, Dan said: "Drew. Oi, I'm talking to you."

(5:10pm) 17 minutes later…

Summer Bay – Tony and Rachel's House – Garden

"Hey, try not to worry. I'm doing everything I can ok." Brad said to someone on the phone just as he heard the garden gate open "Hey, listen I've got to go. Ok, bye."

Brad quickly hung up the phone and placed it on the table just as Rachel walked over to him: "Hey, who were you talking to?"

"Just a mate back home." Brad replied quickly.

"Ahhh, I was trying to call you. Sally said you were looking for me at the hospital."

"Yeah, I thought you were on duty my mistake."

"Oh."

"You saw Sal?"

Sitting down, Rachel said: "Yeah, I did. I went to Leah's to pick up some more of my stuff and that was really bad timing. It's a long story, anyway I'm glad you wanted to catch up I feel like we've hardly spent any time together."

"What are you talking about? We've spent heaps of time together."

"Well, we've hardly spent any time talking about you."

"There's not much to tell." Brad informed her "My life's been dull compared to yours."

"Yeah right." Rachel laughed "So, how's your love life?"

"Aww, nice. Real subtle."

"Go on."

"Why?"

"Come on bub, you can't hide it from me. Remember I'm the one who found those weird Star Wars figurines buried in the backyard."

Sighing, Brad replied: "Ok, maybe there is someone I've got my eye on."

"Oooo!" Rachel laughed just as her phone rang.

"Saved by the bell." Brad smiled at her.

"This conversation is so not over." Rachel informed her brother before answer the phone "Hello?"

At the same time…

Summer Bay – Leah and Dan's House – Living Room

"Great, so you stole Pete's car, and you don't even have a licence." Dan said angrily as Drew flicked through the TV channels.

"I don't need a bit of plastic to tell me I can drive." Drew said without taking his eyes of the screen "And, I already told you I didn't steal it."

Pointing at the box on the coffee table, Dan pointed out: "You went through the box and took the keys without asking mate, that is stealing."

"I thought you wouldn't mind."

Noticing that Drew was still staring at the TV screen, Dan barged past his legs and turned it off: "You said, you don't have a licence. You really think we would've let you take it?"

Stepping in before something could happen, Leah said: "Ok, Drew we are just saying all this because we're worried about you. So just promise us that you won't do it again."

"Yeah, as if." Drew replied, "I can barely reach the speed limit anyway."

"You're skating on thin ice mate." Dan warned him "Seriously."

Shaking his head, Drew backed down slightly: "Alright, look I stuffed up, I'm sorry. You satisfied?"

Dan just looked at him, so Leah said something instead: "The main thing is that your ok. Let's just erm go and get the car."

"Good idea." Dan answered as he started to move toward the front door.

"Yeah, Brampton Road about halfway down. You can't miss it." Drew informed them.

"You're coming with us." Dan said talking over his nephew.

"Don't you trust me?" Drew quizzed him with a smirk on his face.

Sensing Dan was about to shout at Drew, Leah replied: "It's okay. Erm, you stay here and we'll go."

Dan just looked at her then before following his wife, he said: "Behave yourself."

With that they both left the house leaving Drew sat on the sofa.
