(5:35pm) 25 minutes later…
Summer Bay – Yabbie Creek - Brampton Road – Halfway down
Leah and Dan were currently in the car on the way to collect Peter's car from where Drew had left it.
Discussing the situation with Drew, Dan said: "I don't know whether to put myself in his shoes but he's just rude, you know."
"Yeah, well just keep in mind that he's still dealing with a lot." Leah replies just as Dan points at something ahead "Oh my god!"
Just in front of them was Peter's car, however it was not the way they last saw it.
Pulling up beside the now torched car with what looks to have had its windows smashed in beforehand, Dan stopped the car and they both got out.
Looking at the car then around them to see if there was anyone nearby who could have possibly done it. Turning back to look at his wife, his face said it all that he thought Drew was the one behind it.
Meanwhile…
Summer Bay – Tony and Rachel's House – Living Room and Kitchen
After throwing up earlier, Matilda was now sat on the floor in front of the sofa wearing clean clothes, while the ones she had been wearing were now getting placed in a bin bag along with other clothes including her favourite pink vest top.
Suddenly a knock at the door caused her to stop what she was doing and look around before standing up and taking some chewing gum out of her bag. Popping the chewing gum in her mouth, she turns and walks over to the door.
"Hi." Both April and Ruby say as the door opens.
"Can we come in?" Ruby asks.
Matilda replies with: "Only if you promise not to go on about the Lucas thing again because I am over it."
"Done." They both say quickly as they step into the house.
Noticing all of Matilda's clothes on the sofa, April asks: "What's all this?"
"I'm just getting rid of some things that I haven't worn for a while." Matilda says as she closes the door.
Picking up a green skirt, Ruby said: "Mattie, I saw you in this a few weeks ago."
Quickly grabbing the skirt, Matilda said: "Well, you won't again."
"Didn't you just have this on?" April says as she then notices the jumper Matilda had been wearing earlier.
Sitting back on the floor and placing the skirt in the bag, Matilda looks up: "Erm, yes."
"So, why are you getting rid of it?" April questions her.
"I don't like it anymore."
"Forget the charity bag." Ruby says as she takes it off April with a smile on her face "I'll have…"
"Wait no." Mattie says quickly standing up "It needs a wash."
After getting a waft of something strong coming from the jumper, Ruby inquiries: "What's that smell? Have you been sick?"
"No, of course not."
"Mattie?" Ruby and April say at the same time.
"Why would I lie about something like that?"
"You tell us." April said "You've been acting pretty weird lately. Your mood is all over the place and now this."
"Look, if you're both trying to be a friend and make me feel better, it's not really working." Matilda tells them as she walks back round the sofa and heads to her bedroom "So, I think you should both just go."
Both girls just stand there confused as to what is actually going on as they watched her walk away.
(6:16pm) 41 minutes later…
Summer Bay – Leah and Dan's House – Living Room
"I didn't do it." Drew states as he sits back up.
"What, the car just torched itself did it?" Dan questioned his nephew after blaming him the minute he walked back into the house.
"How should I know? When I left it, the car was fine."
"Why would someone deliberately come by and set fire to it?"
"Why would I set fire to it?"
"I don't know, to get back at me." Dan said not believing Drew.
Stepping in, to try and keep the conversation from getting heated, Leah said: "Dan."
"That's why you did it wasn't it, because I wouldn't sell the call and give you the cash?"
"No."
"Then what happened?"
"I told you, I don't know."
"Listen mate…"
"I'm not your mate!" Drew reminded him as he started to raise his voice.
"I'm trying here, okay. But you have to help me out…" Dan starts to say before being cut off by Drew.
Standing up, Drew told Dan: "I don't have to do anything you tell me, alright. I met you what, a week ago and suddenly you think you can tell me what to do."
"Ok, this isn't helping." Leah said stepping in the middle of them "Why don't we just try and sit down and talk about this calmly."
"Forget it, it doesn't matter what I say, he's not going to believe me." Drew tells her before storming off to the bedroom.
At the same time…
Summer Bay – Tony and Rachel's House – Living Room and Kitchen
Neither girl had done what their friend asked, instead they stayed hoping she would calm down and talk to them.
Checking the bin, April looking at Ruby and shook her head just as Lucas walked through the front door.
"Hi." Lucas says causing both girls to look at him "Erm, where's Mattie?"
From where she was sat on the arm of the chair, Ruby answers: "She's in her room, we had a bit of a moment."
"So, I guess now is probably not the best time to try and smooth things over with her." Lucas said.
"Maybe not right this minute." April replied knowing what would probably happen.
Lucas doesn't say anything else, instead he turns and opens the door: "Hey, if Mattie is not talking to either of you, why are you both still here?"
"We are just trying to be good friends, I guess." They both answer.
"And I'm not?" Lucas questioned.
"We didn't say that." Ruby points out.
"I'm doing my best guys. I have had my own stuff going on as well."
"We know and it's ok." April tells him.
"Before I got caught up in all this stuff with Lee, I tried to be there for Mattie. I kept telling her that she looked great and that she had nothing to worry about, but all that just got thrown back in my face."
"Maybe she thought you didn't mean?"
"But I did mean it April, I do mean it. She doesn't have to spend all day in the bathroom trying to make herself look good." Lucas finishes speaking then starts to head to his own bedroom.
"Is that what she's been doing?"
Stopping, Lucas replies: "Yeah, then she turns up the radio really loud and pretends that no one's knocking."
"What else have you noticed lately?" April continued to ask as Ruby stood up and walked over to them.
"Just that erm, she's been brushing her teeth a lot. She's obsessed, I guess she figures that if she can't fix her burn then everything else has to be perfect." Lucas says to them after noticing every little thing Matilda had been doing lately.
The girls stare at each other when Lucas says that to them.
"Guys?" Lucas said when he spots them looking at each other.
"We better go before she catches us still out here." Ruby quickly says grabbing both her own and April's stuff "But thank you."
With that, Ruby grabs April's hand and the two rush off leaving Lucas to stand there and wonder what they were thinking about.
