AN: This is the start of my new Pokémon fanfic. The other day I had an unusual Pokémon themed dream and was greatly inspired to make a fanfic based off it. This is that fanfic.
And now for the disclaimer. I'm only doing this once, so, here it goes...

An early June day in Sandgem Town. The long awaited Summer season was finally here. The one time of the year where you don't need to wear a coat in Sinnoh.
Sandgem Town was usually free of worries. Today, however, was different.
Dawn's house. Upstairs...
"Now, you may be wondering why I called you here..." The Pokémon Professor of the region, Rowan, stated. He was standing in front of the room's TV.
"Very. I was playing video games, and you interrupted me for... THIS?!" The blond boy known as Barry fidgeted about.
"What I'm about to tell you is very important, so listen carefully."
"Yes, Professor!" Rowan's blue haired assistant, Dawn, obeyed.
"Alright. So, I was watching The Young & The Restless, when something terrible happened."
"It got cancelled?"
"Even worse! Wait, no. Nothing could be worse than The Young & The Restless getting cancelled..."
"Just tell us what you brought us in for already, old man!" Barry snapped.
"... I was watching Y&R, when this commercial played."
He showed a section of a DVR recording to the young teens.
"BeRrIeS aNd CrEaM, bErRiEs AnD cReAm-"
"This is what you woke me up for?" The boy in a red-orange cap, Lucas, showed visible confusion.
"Oops! Wrong commercial."
Professor Rowan skipped to a different part of the recording.
"Attention citizens of Sinnoh. Team Galactic's all new amusement park, Galactic World, is ready for opening! Go on thrill seeking rides, watch our original productions in the theater, dine in one of our park's many restaurants, and more! Our nearby hotel contains only the finest services, including a shopping centre, a huge pool, and a relaxing spa...
Grand opening tomorrow! Year-round passes are only 9995 pokédollars!"
After a short clip boasting Galactic World's shiny logo, the commercial ends.
Rowan sighed. "It seems Team Galactic is back at it again to cause trouble. I thought they were done for good after Cynthia defeated them a year ago, but I had assumed wrong. And, for whatever reason, they're tricking people with a theme park of all things."
"That couldn't have been cheap..." Barry added.
"You're right. They must be up to something, we just don't know what..."
"So, what does this mean?" Dawn asked.
"Well, I certainly can't do this mission alone, which is why you are going with me."
"Wait, really?!"
"Yes. I trust that you three will do well-"
"I get to ride all the roller coasters!" Barry exclaimed.
"Wait, that's not what I meant-"
"I'm gonna stuff myself with cotton candy and nachos!"
"No Lucas, we're not going to-"
"The spa sounds amazing! We HAVE to go there!"
Rowan sighed once more. This was going to be harder than he thought.
MUCH harder.
That's the end of chapter 1! As you can see, things escalated quickly.
Anyways, some quick notes...:
Character Personalities: Barry is basically his self from the games but a bit angrier. Lucas is a flanderized version of Diamond from the Adventures manga. I don't know what I'm going to do with Dawn yet, but her role as Professor Rowan's assistant is at least somewhat important. And Professor Rowan is, of course, Professor Rowan.
Other Things: Barry, Dawn, and Lucas don't own any pokémon and aren't pokémon trainers, at least not yet.
Also, Lucas is an orphan. Yes, really.
I know this story is rather weird by Pokémon standards, but I felt a strong desire to make my dream a fanfic for whatever reason, and that's what I did.
There'll be no consistent upload schedule for chapters. I'll keep this story going until I lose interest.
