Aro's Point of View
Edward had made it clear that he didn't want to see me right now, and of course, a bit of manipulation could go a long way, so I left after excusing myself.
Chelsea was an elite guard member who had the gift of affecting bonds. Something that went very well with Marcus's gift, and they tended to get along as good friends. Chelsea, like Corin, had spent a lot of time with the queens. Corin keeping them content, and Chelsea working to keep the strained bonds between us and the queens existent and exultantly positive.
The only thing I had to do was ask her to effect Bella's bonds, so she felt a bit more loyal to the Volturi, perhaps even cutting off some of her ties to the Cullen's. Of course, the best I could hope for was some distancing from the Cullen's. That would help my goal.
Though, at the end of the day I wondered if my relationship with Carlisle will remain intact. Despite what some believe, I truly cherish our friendship. I had once even asked him to rule with us, of course he turned down the opportunity.
I sighed I was a collector of gifts, but I couldn't break up Carlisle's family. He had quite a lot of pride put into it.
"Brother, what seems to be the problem?"
I sighed once again, finally noticing Marcus, "I want to collect the gifts of the Cullen family, but…"
I really didn't need to finish the rest. Marcus knew of my respect for Carlisle, and why I hadn't previously attempted collecting from his coven members.
"I assume you went there to distract yourself?" Correct, and correct. Honestly, I sometimes wondered if I was the only mind reader in Volterra besides the present Edward of course.
"It's not fair that the both of you got to go first." I complained, something I noticed I was starting to have the tendency to do.
"Not being patient, like in Caius's case shouldn't be rewarded." I felt like punching a wall, but I knew that wouldn't help the current situation. It would just force me to call in some renovators to fix the wall later.
"I understand the feeling." Marcus said noticing my emotions, "I hope that eventually well be able to spend time together with her, instead of separately."
"That would be good yes" We ended laughing at my statement. It definitely felt good to see him better.
"So, what do you plan to do when you're alone with her?" Well, Marcus had yet to show her the library, "How about the library?" And now he was giving me a look, "What? I do remember from your memories that she enjoys reading."
"Hardy, har, har, har, Aro that was my idea, and you know it."
