- Amara POV -
I had a dream last night.
Only this time, my dream was different.
I can't really tell what was going on due to the fact everything was dark and blurry. The last thing that caught my interest before I woke up there was these five figures holding out glowing orbs in a pentagram formation.
I don't know why these dreams keep appearing.
Could it be a reminder of what happened a year ago?
Wow, I can't believe a year just flew by so fast. It was just like yesterday my friends and I were chosen to become Power Rangers. Also it has been a year since we defeated Minatti and rescued Marcus from her wicked enchantment she cast on him.
Even though we still have to protect the city from pirates or bank robbers the city was at peace again. Although I just can't shake off the feeling that trouble is lurking around waiting to come out and cause chaos again.
My poor brother.
Just when I just found my brother and reunited with him, he was already gone.
Ugh! Life is so unfair.
I just couldn't imagine what he has been through. After we defeated Minatti he told everything he knew about who's behind all of the attacks.
Apparently this Lord Ozark guy was forming an army and for some reason he had his eyes set out for Andorra.
- One year earlier-
The rangers had just defeated Minatti and the city of Andorra was throwing a victory party for the rangers. Viviann was kind enough to allow Marcus to reunite with his siblings just for the night.
During the next day Marcus was asked to make his appearance in Viviann's office to discuss what transpired 48 hours ago.
Amara was accompanied by Talon and Raquel waiting in front of Viviann's office. The two didn't hesitate when she asked the two girls if they could come with her as support for her brother.
Talon and Raquel were sitting down on a hunter green leather chair.
They were watching Amara anxiously paced back and forth. "Amara you need to calm down. Please come sit down, I'm sure everything is going to be alright," Talon suggested.
She stopped what she was doing and went towards a chair across from them as she sighs. "You're right. I'm sorry, it's just that I am worried about him you know? It's so unfair, just when I finally reunited with him and freed him from that witch I don't know what they are going to do," she explained.
Amara haunch over with her hands covering her face trying to stay calm.
Another few minutes have passed when they finally hear the door to Viviann's office open. The three stood up waiting for Marcus and Viviann herself to exit her office. The two were seen talking amongst each other and suddenly weren't aware that the girls were standing in front of them.
Talon cleared her throat to catch their attention. "Is everything okay?" Amara asked worriedly.
Marcus could see the concern in her eyes as he drew her in for a hug. "Yes everything is quite alright," he replied.
Viviann smiles softly. "Yes sorry our meeting took longer than I expected it to be. Marcus really gave us some valuable information on who's behind all of these attacks," she explained.
The three girls felt relieved that there was at least some good news. "That's really good though right?" Raquel asked curiously.
Amara was still concerned with what's going to happen with her brother. "What's going to happen with Marcus?" She asked.
Viviann gently pats Marcus' shoulder. "That was why the meeting took longer than we expected. Even though Marcus was under some kind of enchantment by that woman, the council really wanted to lock him up for life because of committing an act against the city," she paused.
Amara was shocked. "But it wasn't his fault, he was under the influence by that witch," Talon stated.
Viviann calmed the girls down. "That was why we made a compromise. Marcus was willing to testify on who was held responsible. Until the meantime Marcus is to remain under house arrest and must complete five hundred hours of community service," she continued explaining.
The girls looked disheartened that their brother had to pay the consequences even though he was under the influence of Minatii.
Viviann let out a sigh. "Until he completes his five hundred hours of community service and is on good behavior his sentence will drop and he'll be free to go," she stated.
Marcus decided to step in. "Hey it's okay, I fully accept my responsibility. I may not be there mentally but it was still me and I have to pay for my actions and I will do whatever it takes to make things right," he reassured his sisters.
- Amara's POV -
My brother stayed true to his words after that day. He never caused any problems. He would arrive on time finishing his day without any problem. As days drew closer to his completion of his community service I noticed there was a sudden change in him.
It's like he wasn't the same Marcus as he once was before.
Normally he's active and energetic, but now it's like he has no energy. He lost his natural tan skin and bags are visibly shown under his eyes and he appeared to have lost weight.
How I wish my parents were here? I was beginning to worry about him.
-Third person pov -
It was four days before Marcus finished his community service when his health took a serious turn. Amara had just returned to headquarters after her patrol around the city when she spotted Emmitt and Raquel waiting for her.
She stopped the car and stepped out of it. "Hey guys, what're you doing here?" She asked curiously.
Emmitt and Raquel looked at each other with worries on their faces. "It's about Marcus," Raquel replied sadly.
Amara's face suddenly changed from confusion to worry. "It happened all of a sudden. Marcus was just about to finish his hours for the remainder of his community service. He was fine and everything until his parole officer saw him stumble and then fell unconscious," Emmitt explained.
Now in a state of panic she went back into her vehicle and as soon she started her vehicle, reversed the vehicle to get out of the headquarters and drove off.
Emmitt and Raquel their friend's vehicle driving off with worry written on their faces. "I hope Marcus is okay," Raquel said softly.
After entering the hospital and asking where her brother is located she ventured into the maze-like-hospital until she finally made it to the floor where her brother was located.
Upon her arrival she spotted an anxious Mia sitting on a chair with Talon and Aaron on each side of her.
Mia looked up and sigh and when she saw Amara, she immediately went to her sister.
Amara started to hug her sister along with her two friends. "I heard what happened, is he okay?" She asked worriedly.
Just when Mia was about to respond the group heard something metal fall on the ground in Marcus' room. They quickly went inside to find out what's going on.
There in the room they spotted the nurse trying to sedate Marcus who was thrashing everywhere on the bed.
The nurse looked up and saw Amara and Mia. "Girls I need you two to hold him down please," she instructed.
While they were holding their brother down Amara noticed something peculiar. Dark black purplish veins sprouted all over his body spreading from his body, neck, arms and around his temple.
Celeste appeared into the hospital room. "Talon told me what happened to Marcus," She asked.
Marcus continues to thrash in his bed while Amara and her sister struggle to hold their brother down. "We don't know what is going on. He just started thrashing in his bed," Amara explained.
Celeste observes Marcus and notices the veins that Amara saw herself. "He is tainted. Girls stand back," she suggested.
Celeste closed her eyes a bit allowing her energy to flow. In an instant Marcus stopped thrashing in his bed. He is now surrounded by blue wisps surrounding his whole body as he starts to hover over his bed. When Marcus opened both his eyes and mouth his eyes started to turn white and suddenly dark purplish goo was coming out from his mouth.
Celeste was fully concentrating on controlling the goo. "Amara quickly with your light powers I want you to bind it on my mark," she instructed.
Amara nods at her as she starts to form an energy sphere waiting for the command. "Amara, now!" Celeste commanded.
Amara aimed the sphere at the dark purplish goo as a beam shoots out from the energy sphere immediately vanquished the dark purplish goo.
Marcus stopped hovering over his bed as he is no longer trashing. Now all they hear was him breathing rather harshly due to the sudden movements and the sound of the heart monitor.
- Amara's POV -
I have never witnessed such an event that happened to Marcus that left me horrified and scared.
That dark purplish goo happens to be not only a remnant of Minatti's enchantment but it was also a chemical compound that was still lingering inside of my brother's body.
Celeste told us that whatever this Lord Ozark and Minatti did to my brother has really damaged my brother.
This compound that Raquel's parents have researched on was some type of super soldier serum along with a DNA of what appears to be a black panther. Whoever was doing this was treating my brother like a science experiment. If that was the case, this Lord Ozark was testing humans like lab rats. Marcus wasn't kidding when he said that this Lord Ozark was creating an army.
For a week and a half, Marcus had to stay at the hospital so they could observe him and see if there were any changes. He was released from the hospital and was free to go home with us now that I finally have my own place ever since I started working for the Valiant Squad.
Ever since he started living with us, I can still tell he wasn't fully recovered.
It was like he was here with us physically but I was worried about him mentally and psychologically. Lord Ozark really did a huge number on him that I'm afraid that he has developed PTSD. Because of his post traumatic stress disorder he wasn't able to sleep at night. Every night I wake up from hearing him talking in his sleep and then waking up yelling out loud.
Celeste came to us a week later discussing what is going on with Marcus and that she has a suggestion that can help Marcus.
My friends and I, along with Marcus all transported to Celeste's lair to further discuss. "So I think I might have a solution that can save Marcus and fully heal him," she said.
After walking out of the lair, Marcus was awestruck at the whole new world he has never seen before. "There is someone I think that can help you Marcus to help heal you," Celeste stated.
The group was confused as to where this individual is located. "Well how do we get to this person?" Amara asked.
Bloom could tell the group was concerned but they can't do anything about what's to come. "This is going to be a long journey. A journey that only Marcus must make," Celeste said softly.
Raquel gasp. "Where is this person Marcus has to meet?" She wonders.
Celeste looked at the horizon. "Marcus must travel to the forest of shadows. Inside the forest of shadows is where he must meet the Forest Guardian. This guardian doesn't take guests in his domain likely," she explained.
Marcus spotted the forest that was very far from the lair. "So why do you think this could help Marcus?" Talon asked.
Celeste can see the concern on the group's faces. "Hey guys I do appreciate your concerns for my well-being. Amara, I love you and I know you're trying your best you can. Ever since what happened I can't shake off the feeling of Lord Ozark and Minatti's manipulation is still lingering in my head. It may be a long journey to get there, but I feel that I have to do this," Marcus stated.
Celeste gave Marcus until the next day to enjoy what he had left spending time with me and Mia before he started his journey to the forest of shadows. This will be a long journey for him and I wasn't thrilled to say the least, but I understood why he must do this.
It was the next day where we saw Marcus venture off to his destination.
As I said before, life is not fair. "Hey, why the tears?" Marcus asked.
I just couldn't stop the tears pouring out. "This isn't fair, just when I found you, you already have to go," I admitted.
Marcus hugged me tight. "Mom would have been so proud of you becoming the woman you are now," he stated.
Celeste walked in letting us know it is time for Marcus to start going to his destination. "I guess I don't need to tell you to look after Mia while I am gone?" Marcus asked, trying to make light of his departure.
The group huddled around me as I watched my brother start walking away from. Once he reached a certain distance away from us, he turned around and waved at us.
I continued to watch him walk away. "It's going to be okay Amara, he is strong. I am sure we'll see him again," Aaron reassured.
I know he was right.
I will miss my brother but I know this is something he must do.
Until then this is goodbye for now my brother.
