Nobody really read this the first time, and I doubt anyone is reading now, but I've continued the story in Spanish, and figured I might as well translate it and post for fun in English as well.
Mai had left him to go search for her ex.
It was then that they received an invitation to the GX tournament that would be happening at Duel Academy.
Jonouchi jumped at the chance to get away from Domino City and try to alleviate a bit of the pain brought upon losing love.
Yugi, too received the news with glee. He too hoped to nurture his hurt heart. And Anzu, she felt her Destiny awaited her at Duel Academy.
The only one that didn't have any ulterior motives for leaving Domino City was their other friend,Honda Hiroto.
He was single and seeing how miserable his freinds were due tol ove troubles, he thanked The Lord for being single.
"The GX tournament?" Judai asked confused.
"People from all over will come. Are you ready?" Asuka asked, smirking.
"You don't even need to ask." He responded, pumped up for the challenge.
It had been almost a year since they'd met and a lot of things had happened.
When Judai met Asuka, she was trying to be strong and put up a happy front, even though inside she was suffering due to her older brother's strange disappearance. Back then, her only source of support was Marufuji Ryo, Sho's older brother, better known as "Kaiser Ryo". Slowly, after she ended up living with them in the Osiris Red dorms, Asuka got close to them, but especially to Judai.
"I can't believe I wanted him to be found." Asuka has mentioned once, after her hyper-active brother played a prank on her.
"Hahaha, but Fubuki is fun." Judai had said.
"You're right, however crazy he is, Fubuki is my brother and I love him."
"Judai, thank you for everything." Asuka suddenly said. "After Ryo went off the deep end and became "Hell Kaiser", I don't know what I would have done without you."
Judai wasn't very Good with heavy things like those, and Asuka knew it, but she still felt like telling him.
"Asuka, what can I say?"
"Judai, since I met you, I always thought you were a bit slow in certain things, and I see I wasn't wrong. You still have a long ways to go to become a man…no a full-fledged human."
"You know Asuka…." Judai started saying, taking a seat next to her on the bed. "I think you are right. I am a bit slow sometimes."
Asuka laughed "I didn't say it so you could agree with me."
"But it's true, though. It wasn't until I came to Duel Academy that I truly learned the significance of caring for someone and fighting tooth and nail for them. I always thought of life as being a big game in which nothing bad happened. I really didn't think too much about the world around me; I was always immersed in my games. Even my parents had given up on me because I was never very affectionate with them or with anybody really. At some point I thought I would be ok as long as I had my games, then I came here and met all of you. We fought against the Seven Stars and I knew then that I needed you guys…"
Asuka was very surprised to hear about Judai before she met him. She never expected him to be so serious about anything.
"But you've always been so…. carefree?" Asuka was unsure of her words.
"About that…" Judai gave a little laugh. "That is…part of my personality? I never thought much about those around me, but I also never thought of myself as better than anyone else. It was like I looked at life through a viewing glass. In a way, I feel I was trying to show the world that I was happy immersed in my games. Maybe that's why I've always smiled, but I think I failed."
Asuka shook her head. "I don't think that's necessarily true. When I met you, the thing that caught my attention the most was your pure, unbridled passion towards dueling. You show your opponents such joy when you duel that it makes others want to just enjoy the game as well."
Judai scratched his head, as if embarrassed. "Heh, seriously? I would think you, like everyone else would find my smile annoying."
"No; from day one I thought you were very interesting and even though everyone kept telling me not to get involved with a "red" like you since I was Obelisk Blue's "princess" and you were an idiot, I never cared about that. I never cared that you were from the red dorms or that I was from the blue ones, or that you are somewhat dense because honestly, there is never a dull moment with you."
"Me too. I always thought you were interesting and tough. I thought I was going to lose that first duel against you. Sho kept telling me to forget about you as well. He said I was a "red" for a reason and that the only reason I won was due to luck, but that just made me want to see you again. You've been the first person that has completely taken over my thoughts. Before you, there was nobody."
"Judai…" Asuka wasn't good at mushy stuff "What do I want to say? There has only been 2 people I've been interested in, and in a way, they are similar. Ryo and the most interesting boy I've ever met."
And it was in this way that Judai & Asuka becaome official without the need to be overly mushy.
