Kaiya and Sayori were reading a book about treasure hunting. Admittedly, it was more aimed for kids, but it was still enjoyable to read. The two talked about how much fun it would be to find treasure like the characters in the book did, the thrill of adventure that they could have, and the places they could go. They discussed what they'd do with it if they found treasures, where they'd like to go treasure hunting, and other things of that nature. After a few minutes of this discussion, Natsuki came over.

"Oi, Sayori, can we have a quick talk? I gotta ask you something," she said.

"Yeah, I'll be right there," Sayori said. "I'll be right back," she told Kaiya. Sayori stood up and waved to Kaiya as she walked over towards the closet area, which Sayori dubbed 'Natsuki's Nest.' Sayori smiled when she saw Natsuki standing there. "So, what's up, cupcake?" she asked, using her nickname for Natsuki, which always made the smaller girl blush.

After being called 'Cupcake' Natsuki began to stammer until she got her composure back. She cleared her throat and quietly asked Sayori, "So, what's the new person like?"

"Oh, Kaiya's super cool! You'll like her!"

"Quiet!" Natsuki hissed. "I don't want her to know we're talking about her or anything." She sighed and spoke a little louder. "You're sure about that though?"

"Yeah, she even likes manga and stuff."

"Wait, really?"

"Mhm! We talked about it on the way to school today," Sayori said.

"Wait, why were you walking together?"

"Oh, it turns out that we're neighbors."

"Wait, she's the one who moved into the place next to yours?" Natuski asked, surprised by the revelation that someone finally moved into that place. That house had been empty since Sayori's childhood friend moved away 2 years ago.

"Yep! She's my new neighbor."

"Is it weird knowing she's living in your friends old house?"

"Hmm, not really. If she had moved in right afterwards, maybe I would have felt strange about it, but it's been a while since anyone lived in that house."

"I see," Natsuki said. She gave Sayori a concerned look. "Hey, are you doing okay? I noticed earlier that you were kinda sluggish and you seemed really tired."

"Yeah, I'm fine. I just had a rough night and woke up a little late. Don't worry, it's not a rainy day or anything like that. But thank you for checking with me," Sayori said.

"Okay… well, you know I'm here for you if you need anything…" Natsuki said, before mumbling quietly, "cupcake."

Sayori smiled smugly. "Oh? What's that?"

"Oh, geez… I called you 'Cupcake,'" an exacerbated Natsuki said. Pouting and blushing, she turned away from Sayori, who was apologizing for teasing her.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry… you're just so cute when you get embarrassed like that.'

"I'm not cute…" Natsuki said, pouting even more.

"Hehe~ you're the cutest," Sayori said. She walked up to the pouting Natsuki, gave her a kiss on the cheek, and started walking back to Kaiya. "Cupcake," she said with a wink.

Yuri was sitting in a desk, reading a book, when Monika came over.

"Hey honey, how's the book?" she asked. "Looks like a new one."

"Oh, it's pretty interesting, actually," Yuri replied. "You know how I enjoy psychological thrillers? Well, I went to the bookstore last night and I found this, at the recommendation of the bookstore's owner. It's exciting, and I just don't want to put it down, you know? Ever since I first picked it up, I've been reading it when I get the chance."

Yuri could go on and on when she gets excited about something, it was a trait that Monika found really adorable. Seeing her speak passionately about something, when she's normally timid and reserved, makes Monika smile every time that it happens. It just so happens that one of those topics is books, specifically, thrillers like the one she is currently reading.

"I get that. Whenever I find a book that I enjoy, I feel like I can't stop reading until I finish it, haha~, it kinda gets me in trouble because I forget to do other things."

"Exactly!" Yuri exclaimed.

"Oh, hey, after we're done today, you wanna go get ice cream with me?" Monika asked. "It's been a while since we went on a date, you know."

"Ah, I suppose it has been a while. Yeah, we should definitely do that. Did you have somewhere in mind?"

"Yep! You know that candy shop that's like 4 blocks from my house? I was thinking we could go there. A classmate told me they got new flavors this past week, including a coffee-flavored ice cream!"

"Sounds great," Yuri said. "Then I'll wait for you outside while you and Sayori finish up in here for the day."

"Yay!"

Kaiya was waiting for Sayori to return, when she saw Monika approach Yuri. Pretending to not be paying attention, she eavesdropped on their interaction until Sayori returned. When she sat down next to her, Kaiya quietly spoke up. "Psst, Sayori?"

"Hmm?"

"Are those two, uh, you know, like you and Natsuki?" Kaiya asked.

Sayori turned her head and saw where Kaiya was indicating. "Oh, Yuri and Monika? Y-yeah, they're like us; only they're bigger disasters than we are."

Kaiya and Sayori shared a laugh at the comment, getting Monika to look at them. After being found out, their laughter died out, and Kaiya let out a sigh. "You know, I feel pretty comfortable in this club. Everyone is super nice and friendly so far, and it's more relaxed than I thought it would be," Kaiya said.

"Good! As the VP, it's kinda my job to make sure you feel welcomed and comfortable here as a new member. Anyways… where were we?

"I think we were on the second paragraph on this page."

"Okay everyone! It's time to wrap things up and go home for the day," Monika suddenly said.

"Already? But I was just getting into the good part of my manga," a disappointed Natsuki said.

"I don't make the rules, the school does, and the rules say I can't keep you here any later. So, time to go home."

"Ugh…"

"If you want, we can share poems tomorrow~"

"Please no… anything but that again," Natsuki said.

"I don't think I could bear having anyone read mine again," Yuri said, her face turning red in embarrassment. "The last time we shared my poem wasn't any good."

"Ehehe ~ then you better head on home before I assign it as homework~" Monika said, a devious smile on her face.

"You ready to go, Kaiya?" Sayori asked.

"Yep, just gotta stop by my locker to grab something," Kaiya replied. "I'll meet you outside like I did yesterday."

"Okay~ I'll meet you out front after Monika and I are done in here."

"You know, I thought this whole moving thing was going to suck, but I'm actually really glad I did," Kaiya said as they walked home.

"Really?"

"Yeah. At my old place I never really found anywhere to fit in, and I didn't really have friends."

"Why is that?" Sayori asked. "I think you're awesome!"

"You do?"

"Yep! And I'm happy that you're here, Kaiya!"

"Aww, thanks!" The two continued walking until they got to their homes. "Oh, we're home."

"See ya tomorrow, Kaiya!"

"Yeah! See you tomorrow morning, Sayori!"
