The next day...
Emma wastes no time in looking for Regina. There she was at her locker, perfectly dressed in her dark blue skirt, white button up blouse, and blue blazer.
"Hi," Emma greets, sheepishly. Regina eyes her for a second then continues grabbing her things out of her locker, "hi,"
Emma smiles and asks, "So...what's on the schedule?"
Regina had forgot, she sighs, "Right. I'm going to a meeting. I can't have you there," Regina slams her locker closed, and walks away. Emma catches up,
"I thought you wanted me to shadow you?" Regina stops in her tracks and turns to Emma and inhales.
"What?" Emma asks.
She looks at Emma with a ghost of a smile, she furrows her brow, narrowing her eyes, "Are you wearing it?" Emma reddens at the question,
"Am I-NO!"
"Alright... Come on," Regina knowingly smirks.
As they walk towards Regina's car, Lily spots them and approaches, "Emma?"
"Hey!" Emma's eyes widen. Lily grabs her by the arm and asks, "what are you doing-where are you going?"
"Um-we're going-uh...she's going to show me around."
Regina rolls her eyes, then walks to the driver's side, getting in the car. Emma shrugs, then says, "I'm just humoring her. I don't know-she said something about shadowing her."
"Shadowing? What the hell? After what she did to you?" Lily tilts her head.
"I know, I didn't forget..." Emma tightened her lips. Lily shakes her head and says, "So why-?"
"Swan, I'm leaving," Regina shouts with irritation in her voice.
"I'm sorry-I'll call you...ok?" Emma mumbles, nudging Lilly.
Lily rolls her eyes, "Emma...be careful."
Emma chuckles walking to Regina's car, "ok..."
Emma gets in the passenger seat.
"She was not happy," Regina smirks.
"No...hey...what is it with you two?" Emma asks, hoping to hear her side.
"She thinks I'm trying to ruin her life," Regina shrugs a shoulder.
"Are you?" Emma asks.
"Of course not. What kind of a person do you think I am?"
"I-Maybe she thinks that because of how close you are with her mom."
"Excuse me?" Regina gives a quick glance.
"Nothing. I just saw you guys, you know..."
"What do you think you know?" Regina asks as she turns into a parking lot.
"Nothing."
"GO ahead Swan."
"Nevermind."
"No I want to hear this."
"Just forget it."
"How about you go ahead and tell me what you think you know."
"Why?" Emma asks growing more nervous by the moment.
"I want to know how a person like you thinks."
"A person like me...?" Emma's patience was wearing thin. Regina may or may not have noticed.
"Your an asshole..." Emma begins to say. But Regina puts a finger up,
"That may be...but hold that thought...I have a meeting and like I said I really shouldn't have you there. But If you don't want to wait in the car, you're welcome to follow."
Regina gets out of her car. Emma groans and then follows suit.
They walked down a corridor, to speak to a receptionist.
"Is she in?" Regina asks.
"Yes, and she's expecting you," the receptionist greets.
They get in an elevator, silence between them.
...
Emma walked behind Regina. And as the door opened to the office, Emma stared in bemusement at Maleficent at her desk, her back was turned.
"You're late...I was about to start without you."
Emma looks at Regina rolls her eyes and shook her head dismissively, "I'm sorry, we had traffic."
Maleficent turns to them, "We? Well...hello...Emma."
"Hi. Ms.-" Emma shyly waves, before she's stopped midsentence.
"Please call me Mal..."
Mal looks at the both of them, then she stood up walking to the front of her desk, "I see you've settled your differences."
"We're…working through it," Regina says.
"That's good..." Mal says dryly.
Then Mal gives Regina a look that Emma wasn't quite sure what to make of and then she looked at Emma, smiled and said, "Emma could you excuse Regina and I for a moment?"
Emma looked to Regina and Regina waved her hand away, "Go ahead and wait outside the door."
...
"Ok Regina...what are you up to now?" Mal folds her arms and narrows her eyes at her.
"we were wondering-I was wondering if you...had a spot for her here..."
"A spot? As in work?"
"Yes. She can help out, run errands like how I do."
"What the hell are you doing?" Mal questions her with a smirk. Regina shrugs as she sits down on Mal's desk, "I'm helping her make her way. And the first step is to offer her a job or at least an after school activity."
"Aren't you just the most generous resident? Offering her a place here?" Regina draws invisible circles on the table and crosses her legs, then shrugs,
"Look I'm sorry I didn't tell you she was coming. But I didn't think you'd object." Mal approaches her and puts her hand at Regina's neck, and whispers, "I will do this-for you, but I'm going to need to know if there are any more developments with you two."
"Sure" Mal moves her head closer. Then Regina shrugs away, "So what do you want me to tell her?"
"ID and social."
"Of course." Mal captures her lips, pulling her close. Gaining a whimper from Regina's lips.
Regina wiggles out of Mals grip taking a step back.
She takes a breath, "I should go back...rain check?"
"Only this once..."

Regina opens the door looking down at Emma who's slouched in the chair, "Lets go."
"So what was that all about?" Emma stands up stretching, and frowns when Regina hits the application against Emma's chest. Emma holds it out then looks at with confusion.
"Fill this out. then bring your social and ID with you. Have you worked anywhere before?" Regina starts walking fast as they exit the building.
"I uh worked at a burger joint three days a week."
"And what were you doing there?"
"Um mopping, cleaning. "
"Oh. well... you won't be doing that here."
"What? I don't wanna work here." Emma protests. Regina chuckles shaking her head, "yes. yes you do..."
"No...No I don't." Emma furrows her brow tilts her head. Regina stops and turns to her in the parking lot.
"I work here and you'd be working under me. Isn't that what you would prefer?" Regina smirks knowingly.
Emma didn't answer. And Regina didn't need one. She opens the car door.
"Lets go"
