CHAPTER EIGHT

He threw on his beanie and coat before making his way out for the morning for what felt like a century ago, he found himself happy. Waking up to an unexpected call from his older brother stating how he was back in town, and how he was on his way towards a small café for the two of them to catch up. For Sasuke, this was great as the night before once Sakura left, he only felt like complete shit afterward—mostly alone through all of this as in his eyes she was his only support through thick and thin minus that dobe Naruto, but even then, he would rather not confide in that man.

He knew Naruto always had some type of feelings for Sakura, just didn't know if he'd go after his ex now that he was done with her, or if the blond just liked going after the women he was interested in and didn't want him finding anything out about Hinata and this pregnancy.. Itachi on the other hand, Sasuke trusted sometimes more than he trusted himself—Itachi he knew would be there for him, he just did not want to hear the lecture before the support.

Checking his phone for the time, it read 7:52 a.m with no notifications and one message—He clicked it only to sigh, it was from Itachi. "Hurry up." Sasuke read, exiting out of their private messages to open his and Hinata's—She never responded.. "Hn.." He breathed out as he turned his phone off altogether and tucked it away. That left him curious, with a hint of worry as his thoughts went onto last night when he sent the midnight-haired woman those messages.

She was eating late, and even Tamaki called him a few times around the time he read her message… could there be something wrong? He let that thought bounce around in his head for a minute before deciding with himself that after breakfast with Itachi, he'd visit their apartment complex. The thought to call Tamaki last night completely slipped his mind as the last thing he wanted to do before knocking out was to hear more about this baby Sakura had him conflicted about.

He didn't know whether or not Tamaki was supportive of him and this pregnancy either, just knew she was on his case about being there for Hinata without helping him really get through all of this doubt he's been feeling since she dumped this news onto him in the first place. He hated himself and was sure none of this was going to get better anytime soon.

He drove down the street numbly as the radio people talked on and on about businesses, and new songs, and concert tickets. Tuning in and out, he heard about businesses like H&H, the M.O.O.N inc, his father's businesses, and others like ChurkiLoc that interested him the most as he could've sworn that was being run by his aunt Kushina—which in all honesty he knew wasn't his aunt and knew his mom now despised the woman for whatever reason he didn't seem to care much of as he knew calling the woman aunt still bothered his mother.

All the other businesses as well mentioned, he could care less about—he was most curious to hear about his father expanding—but even then, he turned the radio off after the man on the radio began complimenting his father's authentic work mindset—tsk, his father wasn't authentic, nor did he have a work mindset. His mindset was to rip people off by stealing people's product ideas and stories for more popularity and recognition. The apple did not fall far from their fucked-up family tree, no matter how much his father wanted to deny it.

'I won't fuck up like him though.. I will be better.' He thought to himself for his unborn child, wishing to do better, but just felt stuck right now with little to no time. He closed his eyes, only to open them wide once someone honked at him for him to go. He stepped on the gas, but not before rolling his window down to flip the person behind him off. It was after those few minutes alone in the silence of his car that he found himself pulling into this parking lot for this café that seemed more like a shack—Instantly he connected eyes with his brother who sat outside under this umbrella covered with snow on top. He had steaming coffee in hand with another in front of him. Sasuke parked, and Itachi stood.

It wasn't like it's been long since they've seen each other, the man had just come back from his honeymoon—he was sure his older brother had a lot to share now being a married man, while… he had a lot to share too for once that wasn't old news. Walking up to the man, however, he found himself nervous with each step. Thinking of a way to escape from announcing this big news as he felt once announced, it was set in stone and actually happening.

His brother reached out and pulled him into a hug. "Sasuke." He greeted with a smile, patting the younger Uchiha on the back to try and loosen the tense man up as he could tell by how Sasuke carried himself that he was not all the way there like usual. "How's everything been holding up since I've been gone?" He questioned, jumping straight into things in Sasuke's eyes as he briefly raised his eyebrows before pulling away to take a seat, to which Itachi followed suit and proceeded to drink his coffee.

He looked away as his right leg began to bounce, "Just fine," He responded, "But how have you been, brother?" He asked as he went on, "You did just get married after all.. got any regrets yet?" getting a small smile in response. His leg stopped—

"No, of course not." The long-haired man said with slight amusement, raising his eyebrows up a peak as he smiled. "I'm quite happy if I'm honest. It's one thing to consummate your relationship as girlfriend and boyfriend, but as husband and wife?" He stopped himself as he then nodded before taking a couple more sips of coffee. "Ew," Sasuke laughed out, only causing Itachi to smile within drinking. "Oh, don't you worry. You and Sakura aren't far away from experiencing these highs from marriage— I remember what mother and father were complaining about at the reception, but you two are practically inseparable already, just wait until the day comes." Itachi tried to encourage but only made the smile from Sasuke's lips fade as his eyes seemed to dull.

"Unless the two of you have ended things… again?" He questioned, causing Sasuke to sigh as he shook his head and went to get a cigarette out of his coat pocket. Itachi watched as he picked a cigarette out, searched for a lighter, and lit it before looking away for himself to sigh in what someone like Sasuke might see as a disappointment, but for Itachi, it was far from that— "What's happened? Did she cheat again-?"

"No," Sasuke replied quickly as he took a couple of puffs off his cigarette. He disliked talking about when she cheated on him, only ever really talking about that stuff outside of himself to Itachi about it—not really wanting to share that as it made him feel low about himself… "It was me… I just… fucked up..." He announced as he hesitated on rubbing his temples, something he's found himself doing a lot more lately. Itachi studied him, crossing his arms in the process while sitting back in his chair.

"Look at me." Itachi requested, connecting eyes with his younger brother as he then proceeded. "Whatever you've done, you can share it with me if you want. You know you probably fucked up your relationship with Sakura, but you can't fuck up brotherhood." He reminded the young man of something he's been telling him for years now—He wasn't going to judge him, he wasn't going to hold anything against him, they were brothers and helped each other out when they needed help the most—When Sasuke had alcohol for breakfast, lunch, and dinner when Sakura had her miscarriage, Itachi tried his best every chance he got to show support instead of judgment towards his younger brother. "So, what have you done?" He asked, causing Sasuke to sigh once more as he mentally braced himself.

"Well… the last time Sakura and I ended things, I found myself drinking alone in a bar in attempts to drown my sorrows-

As you tend to do." Itachi remarked with a small smirk, causing Sasuke to fight back a roll of his eyes before continuing on with a small nod,

"Yeah, but I ended up meeting this... this beautiful woman with the most fascinating eyes—and went home with her." He said as Itachi nodded with his smirk stuck on his lips, "Well.. we were very drunk, and I ended up staying the whole night with her only to find out the next morning how Tamaki's her roommate." He decided to announce first, wishing to stall as much as he possibly could to tame his nerves as Itachi's eyes widened.

"Oh, that's horrible." Itachi laughed out, reaching for his coffee as Sasuke cleared his throat, breathing out, "Yeah" as he went to continue on that horrible remark.

"Not uh.. as horrible as when a couple of weeks passed, and Tamaki met up with me to announce that that roommate of hers was pregnant… and how I was the father." He announced, causing Itachi to choke on his swallow.

"What?" He asked as he began to cough, Sasuke watched him for a second. "What did you say?" He asked once more, placing the cup of coffee down as he then adjusted himself in his seat. "You got someone else pregnant?" He tried to clarify, causing Sasuke to sigh and close his eyes.

"I-I.. I guess you could say that…" He breathed out as he dropped his head in his hands. "Last time we talked; she was… seven weeks pregnant-?

And how are you feeling, like shit?

I feel like utter shit, Itachi.. and Sakura-

Yeah, what about her? I bet she's furious-

She found out before me and decided to keep it from me—she refused to believe anything and would've kept it from me if Tamaki didn't tell me herself." Sasuke explained, causing Itachi's eyes to widen. He went on to explain how the woman's put doubt in his mind, and how Hinata refused to abort this baby and how he didn't know what to do with himself anymore and all Itachi could do was sit there and listen to his younger brother rant. Heavens did it seem like Sasuke needed to rant. "…And now I'm a single soon-to-be father, pulling extra hours working for father and his dumbass goons while the mother of this child of mine absolutely hates my guts." He finished, going for another cigarette since he finished the last one as Itachi decided with himself to drink Sasuke's coffee for energy to respond.

"Apart of me wants to say congratulations, but this pregnancy seems to be draining you like I'm sure it's doing the mother." He started, causing Sasuke to sigh as he took a puff of his newfound cigarette. Apart of Sasuke wanted to start smoking on something stronger, but alas, he continued to listen as his brother continued on. "It didn't feel like I was gone for that long, but this is just a prime example of life and how mysterious it works. When Izumi and I left town, the two of you seemed so happy-

Well, that was before we found out I had a baby on the way with a whole different woman-

And what even is her name?" Itachi asked, shaking his head in confusion as Sasuke breathed out,

"Her name is Hinata… Hinata Hyuga. She's some twenty-two-year-old mystery, that I can't even begin to wrap my head around. It's like… I feel forced to step up for her and this child, but only because she told me she could handle this without me-"

"Ouch.." Itachi responded, causing Sasuke to roll his eyes as he said, "Yeah" and stressfully yanked his beanie off to run his fingers through his hair. "So, I'm gonna become an uncle?" He questioned with a hint of happiness in his voice that Sasuke could not understand. They locked eyes for a second before the twenty-three-year-old replied,

"I.. I don't know, because what if Sakura's right? What if the baby isn't mine, and is some other guys, or that ex of hers she was telling me about-"

"Well, isn't there a test for that? If you want to be one-hundred percent sure that this baby is yours, which I wouldn't blame you for as this is a life-changing discovery, can't there be test done during the trimester stages?" Itachi suggested, causing Sasuke to fiddle with his cigarette before smoking it up.

Blowing out the smoke, he went to respond. "I'm not sure… I could bring it up with her though, I guess-

Yeah, you should." Itachi stated with a small nod, "So I can prepare for my little niece or nephew." He then smiled, causing Sasuke to shake his head as their morning together continued on without a hitch. Itachi ended up ordering them some light breakfast and began to talk on and on about his marriage life. They even discussed the long-haired Uchiha meeting Hinata, though Sasuke was somewhat against that arrangement until he clarified everything with the woman first—

He didn't want to break the news to his whole family now without knowing for sure that this baby was his—and them knowing of the baby included them knowing of her as well. He wanted to at least know where their relationship was at and stood before introducing her to his brother and parents. It was only one thing he knew for certain at this moment though, and it was how he'd visit the woman after this nice little catch-up with his brother.

Tossing and turning in bed she found herself being awoken by a light cry, "Coming baby.." She mumbled as she then pushed herself out and on her feet—as though entering the room of the crying child instantly. She approached the cries, reaching for the baby only to meet eyes with Toneri with the baby in his arms— "Ton-Toneri..?" She questioned, looking down at his arms to study this distraught child.

Wrapped in a newborn blanket, was a sweet baby with curly black locks—waving its fat arms around in discomfort as Toneri then smiled at its mother before walking away, leaving Hinata in a state of shock—the baby.. She placed a hand on her tummy—it was flat. "Give-Give me my baby!" She shouted, though only got a chuckle in response as she began to run after him.

The cries got louder as his steps became faster, causing the new mother to pant as she tried to match his inhuman pace. It was until the man stopped at a cliff to embrace the newborn that Hinata finally caught up with him. "Wh-Why are you doing this!?" She cried out, reaching out for her baby. "Let me hold them…please.." She begged, taking a step closer as he then took a step back, causing her to scream, "NOO!" as she then woke up,

Gasping for air as she shot up, reaching for some kind of reassurance. Her baby… Looking around and towards her tummy, it was flat.. with the tiniest of bumps, causing Hinata to cry as she feared that nightmare would come true. Eight weeks today, and she awoke with a nightmare—why would Toneri.. she shook that thought away, running her fingers through her tangled hair as she then wiped the tears away.

She was a sweaty mess, as well as hungry—and despite feeling anxious from her dream, she really didn't want to focus on it more than she had to be pregnant still. Her baby was safe, and with all the research she did last night before bed, her baby was officially her offspring as well— They were growing and becoming the tiny human that she couldn't wait to meet officially, and it was as though her mindset warped around that.

Her goal for the day was to put her setbacks to the side and to focus on getting everything together. She had a wedding to plan, she had moving preparations to take care of—feeling overwhelmed ever since she peed on that stick, she wished to tackle these minor things before they became too much for her body and mind to process. And despite having that nightmare on her first night back, she wasn't going to let that stop her from moving fully back in.

Getting out of bed, she took in her surroundings. It looked the same as it did that night she left, and suddenly, she concluded that this room needed rearranging. She did not want the dresser near the door, as last time she remembered it holding her up from escaping— nor did she want the bed against the windowed wall—she wanted the bed to face the window, so the world can keep an eye on things. She wanted the dresser on the opposite side of the room, preferably near the bathroom door, so she can get dressed faster. She wanted to prepare… for everything.

Making her out, she laid her eyes on Toneri asleep, laying halfway off the couch. He lived in a three-bedroom penthouse, so for him to have slept on the couch made her feel bad as one-bedroom was used more for an office, while the other was the guest room, he wanted to turn into her unborn child's room. Still though, she did not want the two of them sleeping together in this house alone, being at her apartment with Tamaki was different having Tamaki in the room next to hers—there was no one here, just neighbors that minded their business most of the time.

For about two years now since getting this place with Toneri, their neighbors have hardly tried befriending them—it was only when she was moving out with Kiba's help that they actually acknowledged her existence—but she saw them more as nosey neighbors then than helpful, so even being back in this neighborhood felt like a challenge.

He had the curtains pulled over the long windows, keeping the daylight out. She kissed his forehead before making her way into the kitchen, feeling hungrier than she did last night—the baby was eager to eat. She was craving a fruit bowl but also wanted to devour some fish and rice—maybe two bowls of rice, who knows, she was starving and began to look through the cabinets for rice.

Humming to herself, she began to pull boxes of dry food out to read the labels and ingredients. Her doctor told her to start watching what she eats and to make sure to get enough proteins and water. Lately, she has really been wanting some yogurt, and anything berries to snack on, but since yesterday she was starting to feel a bit off as her growing little offspring seemed quite angry today.

Finally finding the rice, she poured a cup inside the rice pot and smiled as she filled it with water—eager for her breakfast. She lightly hummed as she then opened the freezer and frowned—there was practically nothing in there. "Darnit.." She mumbled to herself, craving fish with her rice but by the looks of things she was probably about to have rice with a large cup of ice on the side…

She closed the door in disappointment, opening the fridge in hopes of some leftover meat to go with her rice, annnd— "Dammit." She cursed under her breathe, turning around in a pout only to meet eyes with an amused Toneri. "Oh-Oh gosh!" She gasped out, throwing a hand over her heart as he then chuckled.

"I missed this view." He admitted as he clapped his hands together and made his way towards her. She blushed, tucking a loose strain behind her ear as she looked away from him and he wrapped his arms around her waist. "Good morning, beautiful." He greeted her with a kiss to her forehead, causing her to gently smile as she embraced him in a warm hug.

"Good morning, my love—how-how did you sleep last night?" She asked, snuggling into his arms as he took in a deep breath and kissed the top of her head. He looked extremely uncomfortable when she first woke up, so she could only imagine how his back was feeling right now..

"Eh.. It would've been better by your side, how about you princess?" He asked as he rubbed her sides up and down,

"I slept okay… though I woke up from a horrible nightmare about the baby—

Oh no, what happened?" He asked, pulling away to connect eyes with the worrisome woman only for her to look away and shake her head.

"No-Nothing.. I-I don't wanna remember it right now." She brushed it away despite remembering every minor detail of that horrible dream—like her baby's chunky little arms, and their silky black hair— She began to hold her tummy. "You know, I-I'm eight weeks today." She announced, lighting his eyes up as he then reached for her shoulders.

"You are? That is exciting, isn't it?" He questioned as he rubbed her shoulders up and down, she lightly nodded— "What does that mean for the baby and you?" He asked, causing her to look up at him as she then smiled, genuinely happy he was showing some kind of interest.

"Um, well.. they're the size of a raspberry now and are now officially considered my little offspring." She explained with a smile, rubbing at her small belly as he hesitantly went to do the same. She watched as he placed his palm on her belly and began to rub her. "I wonder when I'll start to show— I-I feel little pains here and there, but I read somewhere that those are normal if it's not super painful..

Hm… Let me know if they do become too painful, we don't want anything happening to you during this pregnancy— Kami knows I'd choose you before anything." He reassured her, or she believes was trying to reassure her, but in all honesty, it only put her on edge in thoughts of complications during her delivery. Like what if a choice did come up where he'd have to choose between her life and her baby's life? She heard about those kinds of births, and even had a friend that dealt with something traumatic like that— Would he really choose her life over her baby's?

"Ton-Toneri, but if complications were to arise during the birth of my baby, would you choose the baby?-" She stopped herself once he shook his head without hesitation. "Toneri-"

"What?" He questioned, pointing at her belly as she looked up at him in disappointment. "If it was a life or death decision, I'd choose my wife, immediately—that child can be replaced anytime with the two of us, if you died, I'd be left with a child that isn't even my blood at that point." He explained his decisions, which she was sure made sense in his head, though it only angered her.

This child was her blood—she went to argue with him about the subject but looked away once she smelt the rice. It was done. She turned away from him to fix herself a bowl, irking the man as he saw their conversation as unfinished. "Hinata-

"I'm sorry, my food finished." She excused herself, prepping the bowl as she then recalled the fridge and freezer having nothing for lunch and dinner. "Wh-Which by the way, honey— We have nothing to eat for dinner after work. I-I can go to the store later this evening if you could help pay?" She asked of him, taking a bite of her rice before looking up at him as he sighed.

"Sure, how much are you trying to spend?" He asked, opening up the freezer only to take in a deep breathe,

"Well, I-I really want some berries and fruit. We need some fish, baby really wants some fish—and brown rice, I-I don't think this white rice is healthy for us, but it'll do for now." She talked, causing him to nod as she continued to go down her mental list. "I-I would also love some nuts, and some yogurt—Oh! And pasta and some veggies." She named, causing him to pull out his wallet as she continued to talk, and he began to block her out.

"Okay, okay… How about you just take this, go grocery shopping, and come back home to sleep?" He suggested, handing her his unlimited card as she pouted and shyly took the card from him. "Maybe even visit your old apartment with that roommate of yours to gather the rest of your stuff? I can drop you off before I head out so you can pick your car up as well." He continued, causing her to bite her lower lip as she then nodded.

"Al-Alright, but I want to finish eating first—I'm hungry-

That's fine by me, I'll just jump in the shower but be sure to be ready by the time I'm out though—you know I hate to be late on the way to work." He reminded her, causing her to fight back a roll of her eyes as she nodded at that, taking another bite of her rice before taking a seat at the island. He kissed her temple before making his way into the bedroom, causing her to sigh once the bedroom door closed as she mentally planned to scoff her food down to get ready for her day.

They kissed before she jumped out of the car and made her way towards her apartment door. She felt his eyes on her back as she played with her keys and turned back to wave her final goodbyes—the car ride was silent, as she couldn't silence her thoughts for the life of her. He wanted her to go grocery shopping as she wanted to lay and rest after eating—feeling quite bloated. She liked it at the same time though, wearing a gray turtleneck and leggings, her little bloated belly looked a bit like a baby bump, and it only made things feel ten times more real for her… despite it in a way being considered a food baby at this point.

She made her way inside the apartment and kicked off her winter boots only to look up and as to her surprise, met eyes with— "Sa-Sasuke?!" She gasped, throwing a hand over her mouth as he then stood with Tamaki. She looked at the both of them as she then hurriedly looked back behind her to close the door shut behind her—the last thing she needed was Toneri to sense something was wrong and to come in with Sasuke here. "Why-Why are you here?" She asked, standing in front of the door as though to guard it as the raven-haired man crossed his arms in some sort of amusement.

"Well, I thought you were home with your car being outside, but I guess you were out." He accused as he gestured towards the door she was blocking. "But anyway, I've been trying to get in touch with you to check up on the baby," Sasuke explained, causing her to gently blush as she subconsciously crossed her arms behind her back, causing him to look away from her. "I was worried, I guess, but by the looks of it you're perfectly fine."

Tamaki looked up at him then at Hinata and couldn't help but cross her arms in disappointment. She wanted them to just come together and wanted him to take her and run away from all the bullshit she was having to deal with—but bit her tongue. Hinata shook her head,

"I'm sorry, I… just a lot has been going on in my life, but the baby is doing fine. Today I'm actually eight weeks." She announced with a small smile, to which he too smiled. She brought her hands to her front as she began to nervously play with her fingers. "I-I… I would actually like to talk with you about everything… si-since you're here and all." She admitted, causing him to nod as a small light in his eyes glimmered—she took her beanie and coat off as he gestured towards her bedroom door, and she nodded for him to enter. Tamaki kept her arms crossed as she then connected her eyes with Hinata who then frowned. "Please… don't start-"

"Don't start what, Hinata? I'm doing all I can do to keep my opinion to myself." The brunette admitted, rolling her eyes as she then made her way into her bedroom with a slam to her door. Hinata then sighed at that, making her way reluctantly inside her own bedroom only to stop in the middle of the doorway, watching as Sasuke examined her bedroom better this time, as though the last time he spent the night he didn't take it in enough.

"You-You can uh… sit down." She said, gesturing towards her bed as he took the offer and gestured with his eyes for her to follow suit, though she stayed put. "I uh.. I'm good-"

"You're being weird again-

A-Again?" She questioned, tilting her head to the side as he then took in a deep breathe, "I-I'm sorry-"

"Don't apologize, just stop being weird." He said, gesturing towards the door. "And can you close the door? There's something I actually wanna talk with you about as well.." He admitted, causing her heart to sink as she mumbled out, "Oh?" and subconsciously closed the door as she took the step inside.

"What's the matter?" She asked, standing in front of him with her arms crossed over her chest. He looked up at her briefly before looking away in shame—He didn't know how to bring up this conversation again about this baby not being his, but he also didn't know how one would suggest getting a test done this early to confirm if he was truly the father or not—he had to admit her being gone despite her car being outside did rub him the wrong way, but he felt as though he couldn't accuse her of anything or get upset if she was out with another man or something because he knew nothing of her!

She wasn't his significant other, but dammit! He felt if this woman was carrying his child, the least she could do was keep him updated throughout the day so he can know that everything was getting on smoothly—he didn't know how she was treating her body. Was she a drinker still while carrying his supposed child? Was she a smoker? How was her mental state? He didn't know shit.

"I just need to know… Are you one-hundred percent positive that this baby is mine?" He decided to just rip the band-aid off, causing her eyes to briefly wide before a frown took over her lips. "Because ever since you've told me, I've been busting my ass off." He began, connecting eyes with the midnight-haired beaut as she stared him deep in his dark orbs, causing him to surprisingly lose confidence in his argument as he began to stutter out his defense. "I-I left my girlfriend, I've been putting in extra hours with my father, my studies, tsk… I'm far behind my studies and I-I have a test soon-!"

"I… I'm sorry-"

"Don't… be sorry, just tell me… are you one-hundred percent sure that this baby is mine?" He asked once more, causing her to look away as she then bit her bottom lip in thought. He took that as a no, he took that as she's been pulling his leg this entire time—and,

"I… I'm positive." She admitted, recalling the morning after she left Toneri alone with his demons. "I-I… I remember taking th-the emergency conception pill after everything with Ton-Toneri, and getting my period that following week," She explained, thinking to herself, 'thankfully' before continuing on. "Though with you… I-I remember taking it the morning after and that following week I got nothing… It-It wasn't until I was out with my best friend that I found the smell and food I usually loved awful—so took a-a test which came back positive… so yes, I-I'm positive you're the fa-father." She broke to him as she refused to make eye contact with the man afterward who couldn't help but frown in his own shame.

"A-As much as I wished you weren't the father, you-you are… and I-I'm sorry-

Why? Last time I recalled; it was a team effort to get pregnant?" He reminded the woman with a small smirk that didn't reach the eye. "If I'm the father though… then shouldn't we try to get to know each other better since we're bringing a baby into this world?" He asked, looking up at her side profile as she began to shake her head at that, but stopped herself. She wanted to get to know him better, just didn't know how one would go by that being engaged and all.

Especially to Toneri of all people, Sasuke was the last person that the man wanted her to associate with right now, she could just imagine the argument of him finding out them meeting up today. Sasuke was the father, she was sure about that—she didn't want any more confusion around this baby's father anymore, nor did she like the confusion—it made her feel horrible about herself, horrible about this pregnancy when she wanted to feel happy.

She was happy that her baby was the size of a raspberry starting today, and growing—all she wanted was for them to grow and to be healthy—but she also wanted to clear everything outside the womb for them, like this whole father situation… She looked at Sasuke and began to study him, noticing how his hair seemed silky like the baby she saw in her dreams and couldn't help but frown.

"I.. I apologize be-because of my situation…really." She began to clarify, taking a seat next to him on the bed to cuddle a pillow in comfort. "My father… Wh-When he found out I-I was pregnant.. he ordered for me to elope with the father be-because of my refusal to terminate my pregnancy." She explained to him, causing his eyes to widen as he thought, 'Who the hell is her father?' as she then reassured him, "I-I told him I didn't know who you were though—be-because at that time… I-I didn't..

Okay…" He responded, furrowing his eyebrows as he couldn't really tell where she was going with this.

"So.. He ordered for my boyfriend and me to get married-

Oh.." He breathed out as though he was punched in the gut. "Wait… Tonoki your… ex?-

Toneri.." She corrected, though nodded in confirmation. "But ye-yes… We.. We got back together be-before I found out I was pre-pregnant, and well… I-I'm sorry, but he can get quite um.. jealous-

Jealous?" Sasuke questioned, fighting back a roll of his eyes at that as he then asked, "What do you mean by that?" It rubbed him wrong but then pissed him off as he knew he too was one to get quite jealous—whatever that meant. He was quite upset to find out that she was engaged now, though knew he didn't want to elope with her—but at the same time… this man was just supposed to raise his unborn child and he was just supposed to stand here and watch?

"He-He just… isn't happy with the baby not being his, wh-which is understandable, so… He just… wouldn't want us unnecessarily being around ea-each other." She tried to explain, causing Sasuke to scoff as he then spat out,

"Sounds a bit controlling to me.", She frowned, shaking her head at his words, though could not get the words to come out of her mouth to defend her man. Sasuke began to shake his head, "So, you're telling me that you're being forced by your father to marry your controlling boyfriend that when we met, was your ex?" He questioned, causing her to lightly blush as he then rubbed his chin. "You know, I don't know what made you take him back after meeting up with me, but to give a little advice—Breaking up with someone only to get back together with them almost always repeats itself and fails." He advised with spite, only feeling hurt by his failed relationship with Sakura because of his fuck ups catching up to him.

"He-He's not controlling-

Is he not?" Sasuke countered with a lean of his head, causing Hinata to puff her cheeks as she then stood to her feet. "Why are you getting defensive if he's not controlling?" He asked of her, causing her to frown as she then looked away from him and began to do what she came here to do, and that was to pack up more clothes. "What are you doing? Did I irk you?" He questioned as he too stood to his feet, though kept put as he watched her empty out her dresser. "What are you doing?" He asked this time genuinely curious as to what this woman was doing now..

"I-I came back here to-to pack… He-He's my fiancé now, so.. we-we're moving back in together-

Well, is that what you want to do?" He asked of her, causing the small woman to pause in her movement as she stopped to debate that for a moment. "Because you've been a stuttering mess this entire discussion, and it's starting to annoy me—

I-I…I'm sorry, I-I'll try to ta-tame myself." She stuttered out, taken aback by him attacking her for her childhood mishap as she then got defensive. "Th-Though to answer your question, I-… I'm more than positive that I want to move back in wi-with him." She lied more to herself than him as he could simply tell from the light in her eyes, it didn't match the enthusiasm she held in her voice when trying to convince him otherwise. "I love him-

Yeah? Well, you tell me in a couple of months who you love more.. Him, or our baby." He spat out, causing her to frown as he then shook his head and pulled his phone out to check the time. "I gotta go, I have a meeting with this dumbass." He breathed, stressfully running his fingers through his hair as he craved a cigarette right now, or just anything to ease this pounding headache this meeting has caused him as it left him confused—

He was relieved to know that the baby was one-hundred percent his based on Hinata's periods, but where he once found himself upset is now where he stood pissed the fuck off at all this shit to stress about—Like Hinata's father forcing her to elope with some man that he refused to let control his child—he didn't care much for Hinata, but the baby inside Hinata—He'd be damned if that man did anything because he was "jealous" about his child.

"O-Okay…" Hinata breathed out, feeling relieved that he was taking his leave, as she felt his visit was too long to begin with—they discussed everything in her opinion that needed to be discussed and personally was beginning to feel a bit attacked on Toneri's behalf—the man wasn't controlling, he was just protective—He didn't know Sasuke, so, therefore, couldn't trust the man. Hinata bit her lower lip as she made her way out her bedroom door behind Sasuke as he proceeded to leave. "I-I'm sorry again that well… I-I'm engaged." She apologized, causing the man to turn around as he scoffed at that.

"It's not like that's going to stop me from getting to know you." He made clear with her causing her to blush as he continued on, "If you are truly carrying my child, I've already made myself clear that I'm going to be in their lives, so he's just going to have to deal with it, now, is he?" He asked of her, causing her throat to go dry as they stared at one another deep in the orbs of their soul before he looked down at her lips and she found herself taking two steps back after realizing like a magnet, they were drawn to one another.

She looked away from him as she bit her lower lip, throwing a hand behind her neck as she searched her mind for an answer. "Uh-Uhm, I-I'm sure we-we can all figure something ou-out eventually." She reassured the man, getting a "Hn," in response before he then said his goodbyes and made his way out of her place without a second glance back at her. Closing the door shut behind him, she leaned her back against it with a deep sigh— relieved for that encounter finally being over and done with.

She was happy to have clarified any doubts he had about her pregnancy, though felt it only dug her deeper in a hole when it came to her relationship with her and Toneri— Like how was he going to react to the two of them meeting up and discussing how present Sasuke wanted to be in his child's life? She cradled her head in her hands as she sunk to the ground, so lost in her thoughts she did not even notice Tamaki come out of her bedroom to watch her in pity.

"I hate seeing you like this…" Tamaki cut into the silence, squatting low to match the midnight-haired woman's level. "What's wrong? Did Sasuke upset you?" She questioned, hearing a sniffle come from Hinata as she then shook her head. "Then what's wrong..? Is it Toneri?-

"No.. it-it isn't always about him." Hinata defended, biting her lower lip to fight back her own inner emotions as she knew she was dreading meeting up with the man later now to discuss each other's day. She didn't want to have this conversation with him yet, feeling as though they were in the sweetheart stage right now, and didn't want that taken from her this soon. "I-I just need to finish packing so I can go grocery shopping for me and the baby.." She excused herself with a sniffle, forcing herself up off the ground as she bolted towards her bedroom.

She didn't want to talk with Tamaki right now, a part of her curious as to what the woman and Sasuke were talking about before she came home and interrupted them—but knew the less she knew, the better her mental state at the end of the day would be. She was starting to see Tamaki as another person attacking her every decision, especially after earlier when the woman stormed away in a fit Hinata was still too exhausted to try and figure out.

Throwing the clothes in a duffel bag she got out of her closet, she made sure to get out as soon as physically possible so she could have time to rest and sort her thoughts out before Toneri got back from work. She didn't want to talk with Tamaki about the man, already seeing an argument waiting to happen, nor did she want to talk with Tamaki about what she and Sasuke just discussed— It was starting to feel like the woman just wanted to know what was going on in Hinata's life so she can report to Kiba whenever Hinata didn't take her advice.

All the messages the man has sent her have all been left unread—she was truly tired. If she were to run away, she was starting to think about running away from everything and everyone. Making her way out of her bedroom to connect tearful eyes with Tamaki though, she couldn't help but feel the ache in her heart as she knew she'd always care for her loved ones—Tamaki showed support, there wasn't any doubt about that in Hinata's soul, she just wished for space to figure everything out on her own..

They hugged, she was so sick of conversating and discussing her next move that when Tamaki went to speak, she simply shook her head and buried her head deeper into the woman's neck. "I appreciate you so much… and I-I'm sorry for everything… I-I… I just really need to figure my situation out on my own." Hinata clarified with the woman before releasing her, connecting eyes with one another before nodded. "I-I have to go, but I-I'll be back eventually.." She said her goodbyes, getting a small hand squeeze before being released fully.

It felt relieving to put her foot down in that sense, but in the long run, she'd regret it—just like she'd regret leaving out their once shared front door. With her mindset right now though, this was meant to happen—she got out of there so smoothly, it was as though everything aligning right now was meant to be like this.. the struggle was only towards the end of the tunnel, and they were almost out of there.

She'd smoothly move back in with Toneri, they'd plan this wedding out together, and prepare as a family for their arriving addition—From there, they can figure out the co-parenting situation with Sasuke, and hopefully, Sasuke and Toneri could try and figure out some kind of common ground to ease the tension she's sure would be present in the beginning stages of starting anew.

She was hopeful, and she refused to let the small red flags stand taller than the white flags waving for peace.

Annd it's over, how was it? I think I quite enjoyed myself- We got a little Uchiha action, a little SasuHina action, gosh!
