A/N My TV just exploded so I had plenty of time to write this. Enjoy!
When Jack entered his favourite neighbour's house, the young couple were at the dinning table and busy with some interior design magazines. Both of them looked so serious so they didn't really notice that a guest had sneaked into their house.
Jack cleared his throat and made the young couple look up and furrow their brows, wondering how it was possible that Jack was suddenly sitting between them. Now, with Jack already getting Kristoff and Anna's attention, he straightened his back, lifted his chin and held out his hand with palm facing forward as if to stop something.
"Okay, listen to me, Ken, Barbie." Jack put his hands together on the table in front of his chest. "I'm not here to ask for food, but I'm here to ask the two of you about something. Is it true, that you are going to renovate your house?"
"Yeah, how do you know?" It was Anna who answered first. She answered cheerfully, in stark contrast to the expression on Jack's face. "Look, I'm designing the renovation." She showed a piece of paper that did look like a house plan. But Jack wasn't interested.
"Because Elsa and I are going to renovate the house first, you are not allowed to renovate your house." said Jack firmly. But Kristoff clearly didn't like Jack's behaviour.
"Why are we not allowed to renovate the house? This, is our own house. After all, where is the problem if we both renovate our houses? Why are you in such a bad mood? You know, you're like a child." Said Kristoff, trying to stay calm even though inside he was very irritated at Jack's behaviour.
"You guys who are like little children you know? You two are like little children."
Kristoff and Anna looked at each other disapprovingly of what Jack said. "Wait, what?" Anna asked her husband.
"Look, first of all, we will renovate the house, because we really want to renovate the house, not because you are going to renovate the house. Second, we are adults, we are not children. Now, we will prove, whose house renovation is better and faster. And it's definitely ours." Kristoff said confidently.
Jack lifted his chin higher and his face was devoid of any emotion. "The battle is ON. May the best adults be the winner."
"I like raw, unfinished things, something like that, but there's one small element, that's hard to get, that's expensive." Said Jack, bending down seriously to scribble on the paper until his nose almost touched the paper as he and his wife sat at the dinner table. After returning from Kristoff's house he was determined to win the house renovation contest and immediately drew the design.
However, Elsa didn't seem too interested, she was busy with her own magazine and her own thoughts.
"Look at this, Elsa. Is it good or not, my design?" Jack handed his scribbled paper to Elsa and crossed his arms over the table, smiling hoping his wife would like the design.
But Elsa only looked at it for a moment and handed the paper back to Jack, and then showed her husband the page of the magazine she was looking at. "Look at this, Jack. Cute huh, the baby stuff? So, so, adorable. The dress is pink, this is also pink, and this one has yellow."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. Elsa, just look at my design. This."
But Elsa ignored Jack's design. "Look at the baby. Ugh, he is so adorable! When I see a child, I want to bite his chubby cheeks." She was so excited that she wanted to bite her husband's cheek.
"Elsa!" Jack retreated backwards to avoid his wife's bite. "Just look at my design first. Come on." He put his design paper over his wife's magazine, forcing her to see his design.
Elsa sighed softly and took the paper.
"What do you think? Is it good or not, if this is here, and this one we move over here?" Said Jack explaining the design with enthusiasm.
While Elsa's eyes followed the tip of Jack's pen across the paper, her mind drifted to other things. "Uh, Jack? What if the room you've been using to store your paintings, we make it empty?"
Jack frowned in confusion at his wife's suggestion. "What? Why? Why do we have to make it empty?"
"Well, who knows we may need another bedroom." Said Elsa slowly. Her eyes were fixed on the page of the magazine she had seen earlier.
"But right now we don't need another bedroom, Elsa. Just leave it for my painting room for now, okay?"
"How about putting your painting in the storage room instead?"
"What?" Jack increasingly didn't understand Elsa's intentions. He shook his head to clear his mind and looked back at his wife. "If we need another bedroom why not use the guest room?"
Elsa looked up, her face showing an expression that Jack couldn't understand. "What if my parents come to visit? Or your mother come to visit? Where do they sleep?"
Jack let out a deep breath, he was getting frustrated. "Elsa, your Papa is a very, very, very busy man. Your Papa is the Mayor of Arendal in the Aust-Adger province in Norway for God's sake!" He stopped and titled his head. "Did I say the name of the province correctly?"
"It's Aust-Agder, Jack."
"Right, that. So, where was I?"
"My Papa is Mayor."
"Yes, that. So, we usually come to visit there, not the other way around. What is the problem with another bedroom anyway?"
"It's-"
"COUGH! COUGH! COUGH!"
Suddenly Kristoff was next to the dining table where Jack and Elsa were sitting, letting out a fake cough.
"Looks like the two of you are still confused and arguing about the design of the house." Said Kristoff, hiding something behind his back. His appearance made Elsa and Jack look at each other.
"Unlike me and Anna, we have agreed on the design of our house. Look at this." Kristoff showed off a piece of paper containing the final design of his house. "We have agreed, we have chosen, because we are one heart, one soul, one rhythm, forever."
Elsa leaned forward to get a better look while Jack studied the paper with a finger on his chin. Jack's eyes moved to Kristoff's face which he found very annoying and then he turned his gaze to look at Elsa.
"Elsa, didn't you say that when you see a child, with his chubby cheeks, you want to bite his cheeks?"
"Hm-hm."
"Here is a child with a big nose. Bite his nose, Elsa." Said Jack, pointing at Kristoff.
Kristoff was confused while Elsa wrinkled her nose at the thought of having to bite Kristoff's nose.
"Where is the child with a big nose? There's no child here. Wait, you mean..?" Kristoff pointed at his own nose as a realization hit him.
"ARRRGGH!!" Jack jumped out of his chair and pretended he was going to bite Kristoff, sending Kristoff running like crazy and jumping over the couch in the living room.
Anna was putting her old things in a cardboard box when Kristoff rushed into the house. Their living room was almost empty because Anna worked quickly to clean up the things that were about to be replaced with new ones.
"Honey! You won't belive this!"
"What, Kristoff?" Anna straightened her back and wiped the sweat off her forehead.
"Jack just told Elsa to bite me!" Kristoff exclaimed, his face still showing the fear of being bitten.
"What?" Anna laughed awkwardly and waved her hand like it was nothing. "Don't be silly, Kristoff."
"No! It's true! She was going to bite me!"
Anna placed her hands on her waist and let out a long breath, wondering if she was the only one in her right mind here. "She's not gonna bite you, Kristoff." She then held out her hand. "I want to see the design of our house, there seems to be something wrong with it."
"What's wrong with our design?" Kristoff handed Anna the design and watched his wife study it.
"The design that we made, it does not match the space we have. Especially in the living room. We have to cancel one of our plans, I mean your plan, to be able to continue with this design." Said Anna carefully, she knew what she was about to say next would displease her husband.
"My plan? Which one?" Asked Kristoff, totally had no clue what his wife mean.
"We have to cancel your plans to re-install the ping pong table. It would be better if we just sell your ping pong table because we need space in the storage room for these things."
"Wait, WHAT?!"
It was after dinner time when Elsa was again, busy with her magazine at the dinner table. She was turning the pages of a magazine when Anna walked into the house.
"Hey, Elsa!" Anna greeted cheerfully then sat down next to Elsa.
"Hey, Anna." Elsa looked up and smiled. Noticed that there was something wrong with Anna's expression, which did not match her cheerful demeanor. "Is everything alright?"
"Yeah! Everything is alright. I just want to run away from home for a while because Kristoff is in a bad mood. I want to sell the ping pong table." Said Anna, explaining.
"Oh really? Same with Jack. He's also in a bad mood because I want to use his painting room as a bedroom. I just forced it, I took the painting out."
"Yeah, I just told Kristoff, if you don't want to sell the ping pong table, we'd better cancel the renovation of our house."
"You right, Anna. Sometimes we have to force our husbands." Elsa then remembered something. "Oh, Anna. I saw a picture of Kate Middleton when she was pregnant. Look." She showed the picture to Anna. "She's so beautiful."
"She's really beautiful, Elsa. No wonder the prince fell in love with her." Anna responded with admiration.
"Do you think I can be as beautiful as her if i'm pregnant, Anna?" Elsa asked still staring at the picture.
"Of course, you can. You'll look gorgeous when you're pregnant, Elsa." Said Anna enthusiastically. "By the way, where's Jack?" She asked, looking around the house.
"Hmm? Jack? Oh, he went out to buy pickles and ice cream." Elsa answered, smiling so broadly.
And at the same time, Jack entered the house with a bag of grocery in his arms, causing Elsa to clapped her hands in joy. She stretched out her hands trying to grab the grocery bag from Jack's arms, while Jack looked at Anna suspiciously, because right now, Anna was looking at his design paper.
"I still can't believe we ran out of ice cream just now." Said Elsa, taking the groceries out of the bag. "What?" She looked up at Jack who was patting her on the shoulder.
"What is she doing here?" Jack asked in a whisper. His eyes never left Anna for a second. "Be careful, Elsa. Kristoff must have sent her here to be a spy, to get information about our house renovation."
"Huh? What did you just say? Stop whispering." Elsa asked confused.
Jack then snatched the design from Anna's hands and glared at her. "I'm watching you, Barbie." He pointed at his own eyes with his index and middle finger, then switched to pointing at Anna's eyes with the same finger. And then he left, leaving Anna dumbfounded and Elsa, who rushed to get the bowl for the ice cream and pickles.
A few days later, Kristoff waved goodbye at his ping pong table which was finally whisked away by its rightful buyer. Anna stood behind him, stroking his shoulder gently to calm him down.
"Our house feels so empty, honey." He said, sighing softly as he looked around.
"It may be empty by now, but tomorrow there will be new furniture. Kristoff, listen. In life, sometimes a change is needed. Right? With this renovation, our house will be better, and we will be happier. Remember this, a new start. A new hope." Anna said, smiling.
"You're right, honey." Kristoff then hugged his wife very tightly. "I love you so, so, so much, honey."
"I love you too, Kristoff."
Meanwhile in the neighbor's house, Jack was looking around his empty living room. The room was still very messy and with Elsa going to work, it was only Jack who had to clean up. He took a broom and started sweeping the floor when the doorbell rang.
"Come in!" He screamed at the top of his lungs, still seriously sweeping the floor.
The door opened and footsteps were heard entering the house. "Sir? There is a package for you."
Jack turned around and found a uniformed courier standing in his doorway. "A package?" He thought to remember if he ever ordered anything. But when he couldn't remember anything, he thought maybe it was his wife's package. "Just bring in the package."
The courier complied and went out to pick up the package. After a while, he returned with a medium-sized box and placed it in the living room. "I'll excuse myself, Sir."
Jack, who had returned to seriously sweeping the floor, didn't pay much attention. "Okay! Have a good day, Mr. Courier!"
Jack kept sweeping and sweeping and sweeping until his broom hit the package box that had just arrived. He stopped to think about what the package contained. The shin-high size box intrigued him. So he put down his broom and took a cutter to open the box.
Jack was super confused when he saw the contents of the box. He took out the contents one by one from the box. "Baby toys? Baby tableware? Baby powder and essentials? Baby pacifier? What's this?"
He took out more baby stuff from the box while his brain was deep in thought. He recalled some of his wife's strange behaviour recently. Elsa wanted another bedroom, Elsa suddenly talked about her Mama Papa who might come to visit, Elsa showed him a picture of a baby room, Elsa wanted food that she didn't usually eat. Is it possible?
Jack looked up from the box and stared blankly at the wall in front of him. "Is Elsa pregnant?"
