A/N I'm sorry it took me long enough to finish this chapter. This chapter is quite long and I hope you all like it. I took inspiration from everywhere like masterchef (as always *wink*), food channel and a TV series called The Rookie, so for disclaimer, I don't own anything except my phone, my thumbs, my bread and my noodles. Enjoy, guys!
"I don't understand."
Elsa stopped chewing after thirty minutes of nonstop chewing when she heard Jack suddenly speak. It made her look up over her shoulder and find her husband propping his chin on his palm, with elbow resting on the arm rest of the couch, staring at her in amazement.
On a very fine sunday afternoon, they were both sitting on the couch with Elsa sitting cross-legged, leaning comfortably against her husband. She was eating her lunch while enjoying a TV series. While Jack, he was too busy watching his wife eat, which to him was far more interesting than a TV series.
"What? What don't you understand?" Elsa asked, her chopsticks stopped in midair.
"Why do you suddenly love this kind of spicy, aromatic food? You've never eaten food like this before. You always eat havermout, baby." Said Jack, gesturing with his chin at his wife's takeaway, which she held tightly in front of her chest.
Elsa just rolled her eyes when she found out that what her husband asked was only about the food.
"First of all, I don't just eat havermout you know? I eat other foods too. You're just exaggerating the matter." Elsa waved her chopsticks as if she was lecturing her husband.
"And secondly, blame your baby for making my food imagination and my taste buds run wild, Jack. She always asks the strangest." She added, this time stroking her four-month pregnant belly.
Jack smiled fondly at that, he always enjoyed the moment when he stroked his wife's swollen belly, and just seeing Elsa do that made him want to do that too.
"So now you're calling our baby as a she too?" He asked, his eyes sparkling because before, when he called their baby as a she, Elsa always corrected him and said that they still didn't know if it was a boy or a girl.
Elsa just shrugged and started eating again. "I don't know. I just feel that maybe this baby is a girl. And we're going to know about this baby's gender soon. Oh, and one more thing. Don't act like you don't love this kind of spicy, aromatic food too, Jack. You always ask for more."
Jack was stunned by his wife's words but a few seconds later, he couldn't take it anymore until he burst out laughing.
"Baby, listen. There's a reason why I always ask for more. And that, is because you always ask for my half. And being thrifty you are, you've never ordered more than two servings."
Jack was still laughing when he finished speaking. But apparently, Elsa disagreed and didn't laugh. Instead, her shoulders slumped and she seemed to lose her appetite for an instant. She looked back over her shoulder and handed him the remaining spicy, aromatic food.
"Do you want your half back?" Elsa offered with a pity look on her face. Her lower lip was sticking out dangerously and Jack was sure that if he got the wrong answer, he'd spend the whole night comforting his moody wife.
From the very beginning of her pregnancy, even a trivial matter could turn his wife's mood upside down. And with him saying about how thrifty she was, it wasn't a trivial matter.
Jack stopped laughing. He knew that he had just been wrong about expressing his thoughts and he should know better than that.
"No, no, no. That's not what I meant, honey. You can eat whatever you want and as much as you want. I can cook instant noodles later." Said Jack, gently pushing the food in front of his face. And it seemed like the right move as his wife's lower lip was no longer sticking out, replaced by a faint smile.
"Are you sure about that?"
"Yes, baby. You can have it. Don't worry about me. Eat now."
Elsa then smiled and as if nothing had happened, she was busy chewing again after previously taking the time to steal a kiss on her husband's cheek.
"You know?" Elsa said suddenly between chews. "The calcium contained in four crickets is equivalent to calcium in a glass of milk." She said casually, stuffing a piece of spicy, aromatic meat into her mouth.
Jack frowned trying to understand his wife's words and what she meant by that. "So? Do you want those spicy, aromatic crickets?"
Jack held his breath waiting for his wife's answer because if the answer was 'yes', then whatever the obstacles were, he had to get the food.
"No." Elsa replied, taking a glass of water and drinking it a few sips.
Jack rubbed his face and breathed a sigh of relief that he didn't have to look for crickets for his wife.
"But crispy crickets seem delicious. With chutney." Elsa added lightly, she didn't even look away from the TV screen. "I've seen someone ate it. She fried the crickets until they were crispy, and after that she sprinkled them over a pasta dish. She said it was delicious."
Jack's mouth dropped slightly at that. At the same time, his stomach felt queasy at the thought of someone eating crickets, and he felt like throwing up. But he had to cover it up.
"Hang on. You want crickets and chutney? Pasta, I can understand. But chutney? Do you even know what chutney is?" Jack leaned forward until he was face to face with his wife. He couldn't understand how his wife could think something like that.
"It's just like a dipping sauce, Jack."
Suddenly Elsa's cell phone that was on the table rang. They both stared at the phone screen, and saw who was trying to video-call his wife, Jack sighed in relief. Whatever the caller was going to talk about, hopefully could distract his wife from the crickets and chutney.
"It's Mama. What time is it? It must be evening in Norway." Said Elsa as she grabbed her cell phone and answered the call.
"Elsa? Honey? There you are! Oh, hi, Jack!" Iduna's graceful face, appeared on the screen. She was still wearing a formal suit and she seemed to be in a hall.
Elsa smiled showing all her teeth. For a moment, she forgot about the food talk with Jack as she leaned back against him, trying to be comfortable. Jack did the same, smiling broadly and waving excitedly at his mother-in-law.
"Hi, Mama!" They said in unison. For the past four months, Elsa had been on the phone with her mother more often than ever before. There was always something she wanted to say and ask, and her mother always wanted to know how her pregnant daughter was doing.
"How have you been?" Elsa asked, while Jack shadowed her from behind, still with a big smile on his face.
"I'm fine, honey. How are you two? Is my grandchild okay there?"
"We're fine, Mama. I'm eating lunch." Elsa tilted the camera at her food so Iduna could see it. "Where are you now? Where's Papa?"
There was a slight change of emotion on Iduna's face and she adjusted her position so that Elsa could see her father, who seemed to be being interviewed by someone.
"We are attending the grand opening of a hotel in our region, honey."
"Oh, it must be fun. Aren't you busy? Why are you calling me now?"
"Actually, baby. There's something I need to tell you. Your Papa just got a call from The Storting a few minutes ago. There will be an annual meeting at the Royal Palace with the King for a week, and it starts this Thursday."
"This Thursday? And it's for a week? That means.. " As her mother's words began to sink into her mind, a sense of disappointment began to well up inside her.
"Yes, honey. We won't be able to attend your baby's gender reveal party next weekend."
For a moment Elsa was speechless and the smile on Jack's face already disappeared.
"But you promised me." Elsa said slowly, already-completely disappointed. She got a little emotional and tears started to gather in her eyes.
As for Jack, he didn't know what to do. Even though he always felt intimidated when he was in the same room as his father-in-law, he knew how much it meant to Elsa to have her parents at their special event.
"Yes I did. But it's your Papa-"
"Did he ask you to tell me this? Why didn't he tell me himself?"
"No, honey. He just said that he couldn't attend your event. But I promise that we will visit when the baby is born-"
"No." Elsa stopped because it hurt so much when she found out her parents couldn't come to visit. "Don't promise something you can't keep. You don't even have to come here at all. And tell Papa that I hate him!"
"But, hon-"
Elsa disconnected the video call and got to her feet as fast as lightning, threw the phone somewhere and ran upstairs leaving Jack dumbfounded not knowing how to react.
"Oh, boy. This is gonna be a long, and winding night." Jack finally whispered to himself and rose to his feet, following his wife, who was obviously very upset by now.
But for some reason, there was an exploding feeling knowing her father-in-law couldn't come. As he climbed the stairs, his mischievous smile spread over the thought of an idea for his baby's gender reveal. Something that was going to be a blast.
"Good evening, neighbor." Jack slumped on his neighbor's couch after a very long day. Lucky for him he didn't have to go to work today because he just finished his painting for this month.
"What's with the long face?" Kristoff asked, placing the phone on his lap. He had just come home from work and found the house empty. And he just remembered that Anna was going to take Elsa to the doctor's appointment and she was assigned as the only person who would know the gender of Elsa's baby.
Jack let out a long sigh and adjusted his seat so that he leaned back on his side, staring at Kristoff. "Elsa's parents can't come to our baby's gender reveal. Elsa was very, very upset about it. And that made her strange behaviour because of the hormone for the last four months, nothing compared to what she had asked for all night until this morning."
"Elsa's parent can't come?" Previously Kristoff was told that Elsa's parents would be coming from Norway and now, he was told they couldn't come.
"Yeah. There's a meeting with the King or something." Jack answered lightly, waving his hand.
Kristoff nodded his head in understanding but then frowned. "What did she do?"
"Yesterday she cried herself to sleep and she slept from day to night."
"Okay? Then?"
"And last night when she was about to sleep again, she asked for beer."
Kristoff was surprised to hear this. He thought he heard wrong. "Beer? Or bear?"
"Beer, Kristoff. B-e-e-r."
"Did you get her the beer?" His frown was deeper this time. He already knew that Jack wasn't supposed to give his pregnant wife beer, but knowing how Jack had been acting all this time, it was something that might have happened if he did something out of the ordinary.
"Of course not. She is pregnant, Kristoff. She can't have beer. I just gave her a glass of OJ. And then after that, when I woke up this morning, she was crying miserably, in front of our closet, and said that she wasn't happy with the arrangement of our clothes and underwear." Said Jack dramatically, and he couldn't even believe his own story.
Though confused, Kristoff tried to understand Jack's words. "So, you spent all day rearranging your closet?"
"Yeah. I separated hers and mine. The shirts must be separated from plain and patterned, collared and not. And do you know what the most magical is?"
"What?"
"Our clothes and underwear are now colour coded!" Jack exclaimed, throwing both hands in the air. "And this morning, I made her chocolate pancakes. And guess what she said about the pancakes?"
"What?"
"'I don't want pancakes, Jack. I want waffles.'" Said Jack, imitating Elsa's voice. He even imitated Elsa's body language. "Why did she want waffles rather than my ready-to-eat chocolate pancakes? Waffle, is just pancake with the abs!"
On the outside Kristoff looked normal, but on the inside, he was already laughing out loud at his neighbour's plight. He couldn't believe that even though it was still in Elsa's womb, Jack's future child was able to prank its parents.
Kristoff let out a long sigh as he tried to contain his burst of laughter. He patted Jack on the shoulder and smiled. "I can't wait for your baby to finally be born into this mortal world, Jack."
Jack just chuckled and then smiled broadly. " She will be beautiful like Elsa, Kristoff. And she will be smart, attractive, a lot of fun, and not thrifty. Just like me."
Now, Kristoff just lost it. The laughter he had been holding in, burst out until he had to clutch his stomach which was starting to cramp from laughing too hard. While Jack, looked at him strangely.
"Smart and attractive?" Kristoff sneered between laughs. "You're so tired of rearranging your closet to the point that you think you're smart and attractive? Wait until Elsa hears this, Jack. Oh my God!"
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever you say, Kristoff. But time will tell that my baby girl will be as beautiful as Elsa and as smart and attractive as I am." Jack said casually. He was already immune to the taunts of his neighbors, and vice versa, so he didn't really bother him.
"So, since Elsa's parents can't come, I have an idea for my baby's gender reveal party this weekend. This is going to be a blast, Kristoff." Jack's face turned serious and then he took his cell phone out of his sweatpants pocket. He fiddled with it for a while before finally showing it to Kristoff.
"I saw this video and it's really cool. Watch this." Jack said excitedly, making Kristoff lean over curiously and see what Jack wanted to show.
Jack's eyes shone with excitement, while Kristoff's brow furrowed in horror the longer he watched.
"Uh, I don't know about that, Jack. Do you think it is safe?" Kristoff asked, he straightened up a little and looked at Jack doubtfully.
"It's gonna be alright, Kristoff. We're only going to use it in small amounts. Once Anna knew the gender of the baby, she would take care of the glitter and confetti and put them in a box. And we will take care of this. This is gonna be amazing." Jack said, pointing at his phone screen.
Jack looked absolutely sure that this plan would work, while Kristoff still couldn't shake his doubts that all of this, would turn into a disaster.
"Are you ready?" Dr. Brett adjusted her seat and prepared with the ultrasound machine.
It was a new thing when Elsa came to visit not with her husband, but with the one and only her favourite neighbor, Anna. And it was not without reason though.
This ultrasound was special because on the previous visit, dr. Brett said that maybe this time they would know the baby's gender. So here they were, getting ready to do that.
"Yes!" It was Anna who answered first. She was so excited that she failed to understand that the question, really wasn't for her.
"Anna." Elsa gave a specific look and smile to ask Anna to calm down.
"Uh, sorry. Please, carry on."
"I'm ready, dr. Brett." Elsa said again, since she was already lying down on the examination bed, she just pulled her top a little so that her slightly swollen belly was ready for an ultrasound.
"Alright. Let's get started." Dr. Brett's trained hands began to work their magic while her eyes were fixed on the screen in front of her. "Your baby is a little shy, Mrs. Frost. All I can see is your baby's bum." She laughed, making Elsa smile embarrassed because of it.
"Let's try to move here." Dr. Brett moved her lithe hand to another part of Elsa's belly and now her smile widened. "There you are. Now, I'm ninety percent convinced that your baby is a-"
"Hold up, dr. Brett!" Anna stretched out both her hands trying to stop dr. Brett spoke further. "You're supposed to tell only me about the gender of Elsa's baby. I'm the baby's gender keeper. You can whisper to me." She hastily approached dr. Brett and leaned close to her.
Dr. Brett understood that and complied because of course this sort of thing happened to her often. And the moment she whispered the baby's gender to Anna, it didn't take long for Anna to shriek excitedly, jumping up and down with both hands moving in front of her chest. She made every effort to remain silent and say nothing, and it was so hard for her. So she just bent down dan hugged Elsa tightly.
"Congratulations, Elsa!"
The Next Weekend, Baby's Gender Reveal Party
"SURPRISE!"
Jack froze realising who was, or were standing in front of him. He was chatting with some guests when he heard the doorbell ring. As far as he remembered, all the invited guests had already arrived and they were just about to start with the main event. They didn't invite many people so they didn't have to wait long for everyone to come together.
He had no thoughts when he was about to open the door and thought it was just someone selling something or looking for insurance clients. But when he saw who had come to visit and shouted surprise at him, his brain seized up in the most ridiculous way and made him incapable of doing anything.
"Mama! Papa!" All of a sudden, Elsa walked quickly past Jack and gave her parents a big and warm hug. "You said you couldn't come. And now you guys are here." She said, still holding her parents in her arms and was already crying happily that they could finally come.
"Of course we'll come, honey. It was your Papa who had the idea to give you a little surprise." Iduna said after breaking free from the hug. She was so happy to see her daughter in person and to see that her daughter was really pregnant with a baby.
"Papa?" Elsa looked like she wanted to be mad but the overflowing happiness made her hug her father instead. "Why would you do that?"
"I just wanted to give you a surprise, Elsa." Agnarr cupped his daughter's face and kissed her forehead.
"Well I'm really surprised now. But happy. Thank you for coming." Said Elsa, she was so engrossed in her parents' sudden arrival that she didn't notice Jack behind her who still seemed speechless.
"Your very welcome, honey. How's my grandchild doing?" Iduna stroked Elsa's stomach and it was obvious that she had been waiting for this kind of moment for a long time.
"The baby is fine, Mama. Come on in, we were about to start main event." Elsa turned and that's when she realized Jack was there. "My God, Jack. Don't you want to say hello?"
Jack's face turned silly, as if he was trying to be polite but really, he had kind of forgotten how to be polite to his in-laws, in person. But it was helped by Iduna who immediately hugged him without warning.
"How are you, Jack? Thank you for taking care of Elsa." Said Iduna, pulling away from the hug.
"I'm fine and it is my pleasure, Mama." Said Jack, then turned to Agnarr. And saw his father-in-law's stout body in a luxurious and expensive suit, although they were almost the same height, still made him feel a little nervous. His mouth felt dry and he had to swallow a few times before finally reaching out his hand
"Sir." Jack greeted.
"Jack." Agnarr took Jack's hand and shook it.
There was a reason why Jack always felt nervous and intimidated whenever he met his father-in-law. As a politician and a state official, there was a little hope that his only daughter, Elsa, would follow in his footsteps and one day be just like him. But with marrying Jack, Elsa must leave Norway and start her own life in another country.
Jack knew that and that's why sometimes he felt like he was the cause of Elsa leaving Norway. Even though no one said that, not Elsa nor her in-laws, but still.
"Okay, come on. Everyone is waiting." Elsa grabbed her father's arm and led him inside where everyone was waiting. She gave a brief introduction about her parents and they were ready for the main event.
Anna was very happy to meet Elsa's parents. And Anna being Anna, she could immediately get along and didn't hesitate to give them a hug. In contrast to Kristoff, he looked nervous and after getting acquainted, he hastily pulled Jack over for a one-on-one talk.
"You said they couldn't come, Jack." Kristoff whispered. He and Jack were in the kitchen now.
"I did say that, Kristoff. Turns out they just wanted to surprise Elsa." Said Jack, also in a whisper. He looked nervous as well.
"What now? Do you think we can continue this?" Kristoff asked, occasionally glancing toward the living room.
"We don't have a back up plan, Kristoff. All the glitter and confetti already in the box. And the detonator is ready. I don't know what we will do if we cancel this." Jack said, looking more and more nervously confused, but there was nothing he could do.
"But there's a state official in there, Jack. Your in-law is a Mayor somewhere in Norway. I don't want to get involved if anything happens-"
"Kristoff! You can't get away from this." Jack's face turned serious and tried to convince Kristoff that they had to do this. "We can't get away from this. Even Harry Houdini can't get away from this."
"Houdini is dead, Jack."
"Even Harry Potter can't get away from this."
"Harry Potter doesn't even exist!"
"Kristoff! This plan, is unstoppable. This plan, can't be stopped."
"Okay, okay. What do you want?"
"Uhm, guys? Everyone is ready. Come on." Anna suddenly came and interrupted the local commotion in the kitchen between Jack and Kristoff. But then seeing the expressions of the husbands, she felt that maybe she came at the wrong time. "Am I interrupting something?
"No, Anna. We'll be there in a minute. Okay?" Said Jack, grinning widely as if there was nothing to worry about. Meanwhile, Kristoff couldn't help but smile strangely and nodded in agreement with Jack's words.
"Okay. Don't be long, everyone can't wait to find out the baby's gender." Anna said one last time before finally returning to the living room.
Jack and Kristoff looked at each other trying to find confidence in each other. And in the end they both nodded confidently.
"You used the right amount of it, right?" Kristoff asked.
"Yes."
"It'll be safe, right?"
"Yes, it will."
"Okay. Let's do this."
Meanwhile in front of Jack' house...
"Calm down, Cooper." Mr. Allen, Jack's neighbor, tried to calm his dog, which kept on barking as they passed by Jack's house. He tried to get his dog out of there but Cooper, the dog didn't budge and kept on barking. Something was bothering him and if Cooper acted like this, something serious would likely happen.
Mr. Allen was just about to take out his cell phone and call 911 when he saw a police patrol car drive past. He quickly waved and slowly the police car pulled over. Two police officers immediately got out of the car and approached him.
"What seems to be the problem, Sir?" A male police officer approached and a female police officer followed behind him.
"I was walking Cooper pass the Frost's house and he started freaking out. He's retired bomb dog from the TSA. He definitely smelled some explosive inside." Mr. Allen explained in a slightly frightened tone. He believed that his dog could not be wrong.
The police officers looked at each other and saw the dog was still moving restlessly, they felt the need to check the situation.
"Okay. Thank you. We will take it from here." The male officer smiled and nodded. He then walked into the drive way and the female officer took the radio from her waist.
"Control, 7-Adam-15 requesting bomb squad at Moreland street 2404." The female officer said to the radio and followed her partner.
"Ready?" The male officer asked his partner and once she nodded her head, he rang the bell and then knocked on the door.
"Police!" He screamed. And a few moments later, a big nosed person with dirty blond hair opened the door.
"Yes? Can I help you?" It was Kristoff who opened the door.
The two police officer then entered the house and the door was closed again. The curious Mr. Allen was still waiting there and a second later, there was a cheer from inside the house followed by a loud explosion.
BOOM!!
Mr. Allen jumped up and then bent down with his hands over his ears while Cooper, the dog, kept on barking. When he looked up he saw a crowd of people trying to get out of the house screaming and almost all of them had pink glitter and confetti on their clothes, hair and faces.
And then when he looked at the house again, the windows of the house were filled with cake frosting which was also pink.
With his mouth agape, Mr. Allen was trying to understand what was going on and all he could draw from what he saw, was that a disaster had just occurred and it involved explosives, glitter, confetti and cake frosting.
"Which one of you, who had the idea to use C-4 to set the box with glitter and confetti off?" A police officer who seemed to have a higher rank, Sergeant Grey, asked Jack and Kristoff who had now been taken into custody at the police station.
And in that room, only this police officer was glitter and confetti free. Jack, Kristoff, the two police officers who were at the scene and Agnarr, who insisted on going to the police station, all still had glitter on their clothes and hair.
The two police officers stood at the side of the table with their uniforms still covered with glitter and confetti, and a little bit on their hair. While Agnarr, standing behind Jack and Kristoff, in his expensive suit gleaming with glitter and there was a bit of glitter stuck to his thin mustache, but he seemed oblivious to it.
"It's him."
"It's him."
Jack dan Kristoff answered at the same time. They both pointed at each other with their fingers, and then they both looked at each other.
"It was your idea, Jack. You showed me the video." Kristoff said, he felt out of place with this. It was Jack's idea.
"But you did agree, Kristoff. You even moulded that C-4 into a tiny little heart shape." Jack then turned to look at the Sergeant. "Sir, I didn't mean to be like this. In the video I saw, it looks very beautiful and I used the same amount of C-4. I swear I didn't mean anything bad."
The Sergeant folded his arms on the table and sighed softly. "I know you didn't, Mr. Frost. Even though no one was hurt, well, maybe some injuries related to glitter and confetti, the problem is that you did it indoors. And you put it too close to the cake. It will be different if you do it outdoors. But, with you using the C-4 alone, it's already a big problem. What you have done, can't be justified."
"But, Sir-"
"With all do respect, Sergeant." Agnarr finally spoke up, cutting Jack off. "May I have a few words with you?"
The Sergeant thought for a bit before finally nodding. "Sure, Mr. Arendelle. Nolan, Harper, escort Mr. Frost and Mr. Bjorgman out, please."
"Stop crying, honey. You will make your baby cry too." Iduna said softly, she was still trying to clean the cake frosting and glitter from Elsa's hair with a tissue.
Elsa lay on her mother's lap on the couch upstairs because the downstairs was still messy, like a broken ship that was about to sink. Since the paramedics who came to her house after the explosion stated that she was quite healthy, as was the baby, she had remained at home with her mother and Anna. While Anna was making tea in the kitchen because they needed some peace after the gender reveal party mayhem.
"I don't understand how Jack's brain works, Mama. How could he do that?" Said Elsa between sobs. She didn't know what else to do with her husband.
Iduna smiled at Elsa's words. "You know your husband more than I do, Elsa. And you always say that your husband has a behaviour that is, well, different from the others. I think it was just him acting the way he always acts, baby."
"But what if this baby would be like him, Mama? My head keeps throbbing thinking about that. And the smell of this cake frosting makes me sick." Elsa complained, burying her face in her mother's dress.
"She is Jack's daughter. Of course she will be like him, and like you. You are both her parents. But we won't know until your daughter is born and grows up. If she's going to be like Jack, at least you're prepared from now on." Iduna said, making Elsa's sobs louder but instead, it made Iduna laugh.
"Shh. Everything will be alright." Iduna threw away the dirty tissue which was now full of cake frosting then gently stroked her daughter's head. She felt bad seeing her daughter being stressed like this but also wanted to laugh because when she thought about the mayhem again, it was quite funny.
A few moments later, from the stairs came the sound of footsteps and soon, Anna came with a tray containing a teapot and three cups. She slowly placed the tray on the table and poured the tea into the cup.
"Elsa, the tea is ready." Said Anna, seeing Elsa still a little shaken by what had happened. "And, I seemed to hear the sound of a car in front of the house. Maybe they're back from the police station." She added, making Elsa look up from her mother's dress and stop her crying.
"They're back?" Elsa slowly got up to sit with the help of her mother. "I really need to talk to Jack. I need to know why he did this." She said seriously. And before she got up, she grabbed a cushion to take it with her.
Anna and Iduna looked at each other hearing Elsa's unusual tone of voice and both realized that Elsa was no longer in the room with them, but was already walking down the stairs at an alarming speed for someone who was pregnant.
They followed Elsa quickly and once they got downstairs, they saw how fiery Elsa was when she approached Jack, Kristoff and Agnarr who had just entered the house.
"JACKSON OVERLAND FROST!" Elsa shouted and as soon as she got close enough to Jack, she immediately hit him with the cushion, hard.
"What were you thinking, huh?!" Elsa asked loudly, making another hit.
SMACK!!
"Elsa, I'm so sorr-"
"You could have hurt your daughter!"
SMACK!!
"Elsa-"
"You could have hurt me!"
SMACK!!
Jack felt there was no point in making excuses. He let his wife to vent her anger and didn't fight back as she kept hitting him with the cushion. All he did was use his hands as a shield to block his wife's cushion attack. Meanwhile, Anna, Kristoff, Iduna and Agnarr just watched it and no one tried to stop it.
"I thought they should stay at the police station for the night." Said Iduna quietly, approaching her husband's ear to keep up with Elsa who was still screaming at Jack.
"I bailed them out-"
"YOU HAVE TO CLEAN UP ALL THIS MESS AND YOU HAVE TO SLEEP ON THE COUCH FOR A MONTH!!" Elsa's screams echoed through the room again. Anna and Kristoff winced at that.
SMACK!!
Elsa hit Jack really hard one more time and then threw the pillow away carelessly. She then turned and walked briskly towards the stairs and went upstairs.
"I thought we were going to surprise her but we were the ones who were surprised." Agnarr said, looking at the scene before him. He didn't expect that their visit would turn out like this.
"You take care of your son in-law, Agnarr. I'll take care of our daughter." Said Iduna, feeling the need to follow her daughter upstairs.
"Alright, darling. Just make sure she is okay." Agnarr nodded his head and then crossed his arms over her chest.
"Anna, come on, let's go upstairs. And Kristoff, you have to help Jack, okay?" Iduna reached out her hand for Anna to grab.
"Yes, Ma'am." Kristoff replied timidly, he shot Anna a look for help but there was nothing Anna could do. He also had to take responsibility for all this mess.
"Alright, boys." Agnarr rubbed his hands together and gave Jack and Kristoff his fierce serious look. "You have to clean all of this until it's really clean and shiny. I'm not going to rest until you're done and I'll be watching you two like a hawk. Let's start with that frosting layered window."
Jack and Kristoff didn't blink at that. They knew they had to clean all of this up but with Agnarr here watching, it was a different story.
"We're dead, Kristoff."
