A/N I'm sorry it took a while. My daughter had her exams last week so I was a bit busy. Okay, so, this is the very last chapter of this story and personally I want to say thanks to everyone who has sent their reviews, follows and favourites. Highest appreciation for you guys all. Thank you very much. I had so much fun writing this story and I already have another story to share but I think I have to finish the other one first. Anyway, I used Ryan Renolds' joke on the last part because I found it funny. Disclaimer, I don't own anything. Enjoy!
Six years later... Or maybe less than six years later...
Elsa was desperately trying not to fall as she put on her high heels along with her earrings. She was so late for work because she woke up late, and it was because, none other than her little Angel who had been sleeping with her and Jack for the past few days.
She was all set in a black skirt and ivory sleeveless top, until she realized that she still didn't have her phone. She couldn't see it anywhere.
Sighing, she tried to find her phone under the covers and under the pillows, being careful not to wake her daughter who was still fast asleep on her stomach hugging her Daddy who was still snoring.
Her sighs got longer when she couldn't find her phone. She then turned to her vanity table and saw Jack's cell phone was there charging. She took it and tried to call her own cell phone.
Faintly, she heard her cell phone ringing. While on the bed, Jack's snoring stopped and then he stirred in his sleep, but didn't wake up. He just hugged his daughter tighter.
Elsa realized that the sound of her phone was coming from under Jack, or maybe from under her daughter. And miraculously, her daughter was not disturbed at all and was still sleeping soundly.
Slowly, she climbed into the bed and tried to listen carefully to the ringing of her phone. It was under Jack's chest.
Elsa slid her hand under Jack's chest and tried to find her cell phone. This was starting to irritate her. She had to bear the weight of her husband's body while she still had to not wake her daughter up. And she also had to be careful not to fall onto the bed because she was already wearing high heels and the skirt wasn't helping either.
She let out a sigh of relief and immediately hung up the phone when she finally managed to get the phone out of beneath Jack's body.
Elsa blew her bangs and then sat on the bed, tucked her phone in her bag.
"Jack? I'm leaving for work." Elsa rubbed her husband's back gently trying to wake him up. She had to say goodbye before she left for work.
"Hmmm." Jack just hummed without opening his eyes. But then he stretched out one hand, as if asking for something.
Elsa understood that. She let out another long sigh and opened her bag again, took out her wallet, and then took out a note. She put it in Jack's hand with a bit of force.
Once he felt the money in his hand, Jack opened one eye and peeked at how much money his wife had given him. His eyes opened wide when he saw the amount of money in his hand.
"This is not enough, Elsa. I promised Angel ice cream today." Jack said, dissatisfied with the amount of money Elsa had given him.
"You're the one who promised her ice cream, Jack. Use your money. Okay? I'm leaving now." Elsa bent down to give her husband a quick kiss on the cheek and she lingered a bit as she kissed her daughter's forehead. She ignored Jack who looked annoyed that she didn't give him enough money to buy their daughter and him ice cream.
"Mommy's leaving for work, baby. Be nice today." She kissed her daughter's cheek once more and then immediately got out of bed, leaving her two precious things to work.
Since Angel was still fast asleep, she didn't wake up and just snuggled deeper into her father's arms. The two of them fell back into a deep sleep within seconds.
"Your friend Olaf did what?"
Kristoff asked in disbelief when Anna told him about something. He had just come home from work and Anna greeted him with a glass of fresh, cold orange juice and a plate of almond biscuits, and also a news that made no sense to him.
"He took a make-up course, Kristoff. He wants to be a make-up artist." Anna explained. Her demeanor turned a little nervous when it seemed, she had something else she wanted to say. She put the tips of her index fingers together in front of her chest and smiled shyly. "And I also want to join him."
Kristoff felt the need to clarify what he had just heard so he put down his juice glass and shifted his seat so that he could speak to his wife more clearly.
"You want to take a make-up course? Just because your friend Olaf did that?"
"No, Kristoff. I want to join because I do really want to join. I want to be a make-up artist one day." Anna explained again. She tried to convince her husband to let her take a make-up course like Olaf did.
"Sure. Go ahead." Kristoff said lightly. He didn't even have to think hard about his wife's request.
Anna's eyes widened like a football field and her face was bright like a sunshine.
"Really, Kristoff? You'll let me take the course?" Anna tugged on Kristoff's arm excitedly. She was ecstatic that her husband allowed her to take the course.
"Yes, honey. I can't stop you from learning something. Just take that course." Said Kristoff wisely.
"The course is every day for a month. Is that okay?"
"That is okay. But will you get that kind of certificate after you finish the course?"
"Yeah. I'll get the certificate after I finish the course."
"Okay. When will you start?"
"TOMORROW!" Anna answered loudly, surprising Kristoff, not only because of the loudness of her voice but also because he didn't expect that she would start that soon.
"What? Tomorrow? That soon? Are you sure about that?" Kristoff asked, his brows knitted in the middle.
"Yeah. You see, Olaf has signed up the other day and I want to take this course with him. So I have to sign up today so I can start tomorrow. Is that okay? Pleeeaaaasse... " Anna was so determined to get her husband's approval that she had to plead, in a sweet way. And Kristoff couldn't say no.
"Okay. You can do that." Kristoff's simple answer was able to make Anna shriek because she was so happy and at that very moment, she threw her body to hug her husband so, so tightly.
Elsa turned around and then closed the front door of her house with her feet because her hands were busy balancing some of the paperwork she brought home. She had enough trouble when she had to open the door from the outside and she chose the easy way to close it using her feet.
It was still 4pm and normally she would still be in the office but an emergency call from her husband asked her to come home right away. With various possibilities running through her head, she immediately went home because Jack said nothing but, 'Hurry up, you have to go home now, it's about Angel.'
So here she was, already at home with all the work she brought home hoping she could finish it later when she was done with what Jack called an emerg-
"Mommy!"
Suddenly a little girl who really looked like Jack from the eyes, nose, lips and hair colour only to hers in twin braids, bumped into her so that all her paperwork fell all over the floor. And if there was one thing that she had in common with Elsa, it was her gender. Yes, that was all. She was really her father's daughter.
Sighing, she had to let all her work strewn across the floor and seeing her little one clinging to her waist, Elsa couldn't help but smile.
She wanted to be angry, but she could never do that. Even the tiredness she had felt before, just vanished at the sight of her little angel whom she loved so much.
Elsa knelt down and gave her daughter a warm hug. She gave her a kiss on the cheek and rubbed her arm gently.
"Angel baby, what did Mommy say about running around inside the house?" Elsa asked with a smile, she wanted to make her daughter understand about the rules and also, she wanted her daughter to do it because it was the right thing to do, not because she was afraid of being scolded by her mother.
"I could fall and get hurt." Angel answered, also with a cute smile on her innocent yet beautiful face. She already knew about it, it's just that sometimes her father's behaviour took over her so, she often ignored her mother's rules.
"And what would Mommy feel if you get hurt?"
"You-"
"Angel! You can't do that. That's what you call cheating." Jack entered the room, gasping for air. A second later he realized that Elsa was there. "Oh! Hi, Elsa!" He waved his hand and walked closer to his wife.
Elsa stood up and her expression changed, because now, she knew who made Angel running around inside the house like she just did. Jack knew that look. He sighed and prepared to explain things but then,
"Mommy, don't scold Daddy. It was me, I was bored and I asked Daddy to play chase." Angel tugged at the hem of Elsa's top, she looked so sure that it wasn't her father's fault. But when she turned to look at her father's face, she found her father's wide grin and then the two of them winked at each other.
Elsa didn't know what to do, so she finally came back to the reason why she had to go home so early. Jack said, it's about Angel. But seeing that her daughter was fine now, she doubted what Jack meant by emergency.
"Okay. What's the emergency?" Elsa asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
Hearing that, the light bulb in Jack's head lit up. Because at last, reinforcements had arrived.
"Mrs. Molly had to go home, Elsa. She said that her dog gave birth or something."
"So? What's the emergency? I'm not a Vet, Jack."
"I know that. It's just that since then I have to take care of Angel while I also have to finish my painting. I need your help, Elsa. I have to finish it tomorrow."
"But I also have work to do, Jack. Look." Elsa pointed at her paperwork that was strewn on the floor with both hands, as if it wasn't visible to Jack.
"But Elsa... Please."
Seeing her parents throwing each other the responsibility of taking care of her, this beautiful little angel had an idea.
"Mommy? Daddy? How about this. Mommy, you can clean yourself in the meantime I will play with Daddy. After that I'll be with you while Daddy finishes his painting. You can do your work while I play. I promise to be a sweet princess for you." Angel said slowly. To be honest, Elsa couldn't believe that her daughter could say all that. But she had to admit that her daughter was indeed smart, though a little too smart at times.
"Wow, that is a good idea, baby." Jack crouched down and put his arm around his daughter's shoulders. "So, what do you want to play? While Mommy cleans-"
"I want to play horse! Daddy, you are the horse and I will ride the horse!" Angel said excitedly. She jumped up and down and immediately prepared to ride her horse.
Jack blinked a few times, his daughter wanted to play horse with him being a horse after previously he had to do cardio by playing chase. He swallowed hard, his body wasn't made for this kind of thing.
Meanwhile, Elsa had to hold back her laughter and took this opportunity to tidy up her paperwork. "Alright. While you play horse with Daddy, I'm going to take a shower, okay baby? And I think I should wash my hair, so I guess-"
Angel came closer and took a strand of her mother's hair. "Eww. You really have to wash your hair, Mommy. It smells awful. Don't worry I'll be with Daddy." She quickly turned around and immediately climbed onto her father's back who was already crouching, sending air rushing out of his lungs from the sudden weight on his back.
Elsa just giggled and happily complied with her daughter's request. She immediately went upstairs and ignored Jack who looked at her pitifully.
"Elsaaaa... "
"Enjoy the ride~!"
Kristoff was sitting leisurely with his comic book when he heard the front door open. He didn't have to look up from his comic book to know who was coming because only one particular neighbor never bothered to knock on the door to get into his house.
"What is the problem now, Jack?" Kristoff asked after he felt Jack sink down next to him.
"There is no problem, Kristoff. I just need a break. Let me rest here, okay?" Jack said quietly, leaning fully on the couch.
It was something unusual to hear Jack talk like that and it made Kristoff finally look up from his comic book. "You look like you just ran a marathon, Jack."
"Marathon is nothing compared to what happened to me today, Kristoff."
"What? What happened?"
Jack let out a long sigh, he felt that even just explaining the problem was too tiring. He was very happy when he became a father. There was no doubt in that. But sometimes his daughter was just too much for him to handle alone.
Jack was just about to open his mouth to explain when his cell phone rang. Grunting, he took his cell phone out of his pocket and his sigh grew even longer when he found out who was trying to reach him.
"Yes, Elsa." Jack straightened his back and held his forehead in his hand.
"Yes, I'm at Kristoff's. Elsa, give me a break. I'm so tired." Said Jack wearily. His hair which had always been a mess became even more messy. He did his job well as a horse earlier.
"Alright, alright. I'll be right there, hold on." Jack hung up the phone and gave Kristoff a dramatic look. He patted Kristoff's thigh and said, "If I don't come back here later, you call an ambulance. Okay?"
And without waiting for Kristoff's answer, Jack got up and left. With a frown on his forehead, Kristoff shook his head slowly because he didn't understand what Jack meant by calling an ambulance if he didn't come back here.
But Kristoff decided not to think about it. Maybe it was just Jack being dramatic. He then refocused on his comic book when he heard footsteps coming down the stairs.
He had to look up from his comic book again and then he stared at the stairs. He saw Anna had just reached downstairs and was walking towards him. But something was wrong, Anna covered her face with a pillow so he couldn't see her face.
"Kristoff." Anna said, still covering her face with the pillow. There was a hint of nervousness in her voice.
"Yes, honey?" Kristoff closed his comic book and put it in his lap, getting serious with his wife. "Why do you have to cover your face with the pillow? I can't see your pretty face, honey."
"Uh. I was trying to do my own make-up, so that tomorrow when I start the course I'll be able to do it a little. I was just trying to explore how much I can apply make-up." Anna explained, her grip on the pillow getting tighter.
"Oh, okay. That's a good thing, right? But why do you have to cover your face like that? Come on, get rid of that pillow. Let me see the fruit of your hard work."
"Uh, it's just that I'm not sure about my own make-up, Kristoff."
"Why should you not be sure? I firmly believe that whatever your make-up, you will look absolutely gorgeous. Come on, let me see your face, honey."
"Are you sure, Kristoff?" This time, Anna slowly approached and sat beside her husband, the pillow didn't change its position in the slightest, still covering her face perfectly.
"Yes. I'm sure."
With a confident answer from Kristoff, very slowly, Anna lowered the pillow to reveal her make-up just a moment ago. And what Kristoff saw behind the pillow was beyond his expectation, it made him gasp in horror and couldn't hide his surprise.
"Oh. My. God!! What did you do to your face?!"
With TV remote like-microphone in her hand, Angel ran to her mother who was busy with her pad, trying to finish some work in the living room.
"Let it gooo... Let it gooo.. Can't holding back anymooore... "
She sang confidently and passionately at the top of her lungs, holding out her hand to her mother. She really liked this song. Since the first time she heard it, she always asked for a replay until she finally memorized this song out of her head.
And how much Elsa loved her daughter singing, still she found it difficult to concentrate when she had to finish her work while her daughter's voice filled the room and, moreover, filled her ears. While Jack, who was cleaning his painting brush and also sitting next to Elsa, kept smiling at the scene in front of him.
"Let it gooo... Let it goooo.. Turn away and slam the dooorrrr... "
Angel kept on singing until finally Elsa couldn't take it anymore. She grabbed her daughter's outstretched hand and pulled her closer.
"Baby, please. Mommy is working here. You said you would be a sweet princess for me? Can you lower your voice down for a tiny little bit? O-or, you can sing with Daddy in the bedroom. Sounds like a good idea?" Elsa said persuasively, she didn't want to make her daughter upset because she forbade her to sing in the living room.
A glimmer of hope began to fill Elsa's mind when she saw Angel seemed to be thinking about what she said. But then,
"I don't care...!! What they're going to saaaaayy!! Let the storm rage ooooonnnn... The cold never bothered me anyway... "
Angel twirled with her mother's hand and with a final cold stare, she ran back to the television and continued singing louder.
Elsa sighed in despair and closed her eyes. She covered her ears and tried to remain calm. While Jack just smiled the whole time and kept cleaning his brushes. He'd just added some colour and lines to his painting and was about to finish.
"Jack, please. Can you take Angel to the bedroom? She can sing all she wants there." Elsa pleaded. She knew very well that she would not be able to concentrate if her daughter remained in the same room with her.
"Let it goooo... Let it gooooooo... I am one with the wind and sky..."
"Elsa." Jack started in his wise tone of voice. "Angel wants to play here. Why don't you just work somewhere else?"
"Where??"
"Let it gooo... Let it gooooo... You'll never see me cry..."
"I don't know. Maybe you can work upstairs? In the bedroom?"
"You know that I don't like working in the bedroom, Jack." Said Elsa desperately with a little effort, they both had to compete with the loudness of Angel singing.
"Here I stand...!! And here I stay...!! Let the storm rage ooooonnnnn... "
"Then don't complain. Your daughter loves to sing, Elsa." Jack said casually. As long as he spoke, his eyes never left his brush and rag.
"But, Jack... Uugghh... " Elsa didn't know what else to say. She then could only hold her head with both hands trying to be as calm as possible.
"Her creativity should not be restrained, Elsa. It's not good for her. Just let her express her soul. Just let her sing, or do whatever she likes. Don't disturb her." Said Jack in a tone that grew wiser, until he didn't notice that Angel had stopped singing and the room had turned silent.
Elsa was well aware of the sudden silence in the room. She looked up and when she saw what Angel was doing that made her stop singing, she had to cover her mouth to hold back the laughter that was ready to explode.
"Who knows when she grows up she will become an artist." Said Jack again. And now he was aware that Angel had stopped singing. "Angel? Come on, baby. You can sing again. It's okay. Mommy won't get mad."
Because Angel didn't answer and Elsa was still busy holding back laughter, Jack finally looked up from his brush and looked for his daughter's whereabouts. And when he realized what his daughter was doing, his heart sank into his stomach, his eyes went wide and he soared to his feet until the chair he was sitting in tumbled over.
"NOOO! NO, NO, NO!" Jack knelt before his now-ruined painting. "What did you do with Daddy's painting, Angel?! Why did you scribble on it? Oh my Gooodd!"
In the end Elsa could no longer hold back her laughter. She felt bad that their daughter had ruined her husband's painting, but looking back, it wasn't the first time. And considering how Jack had just advised her not to restrain Angel's creativity, it was a little ironic that now Angel was scribbling on his painting.
Jack was already crying while Angel just grinned widely. She was just about to continue her scribble, when Elsa felt the need to take over.
"Angel baby? Come here, let's get your paper and crayons. You can draw anything you want on a paper." Elsa stood up and reached out for her daughter to grab. The two then left the living room to get the paper and crayons.
"Just remember, next time you want to draw something, just ask me or Daddy or Mrs. Molly for paper and crayons, okay? It was Daddy's work, you can't draw there." Elsa advised gently as they climbed the stairs. "Do you understand what Mommy said?"
Angel nodded vigorously and then smiled, looking up at her mother. "Yes, Mommy. I understand."
"Good."
"There you are." Kristoff said when he saw his wife come out of the bathroom after removing her makeup which he thought was too much. "As natural as possible, I prefer it this way." He added, smiling when Anna finally sat on the bed beside him.
"Kristoff, do you think I should just cancel the makeup course? I'm afraid I can't do it. Maybe I'm just not talented." Anna said uninspired, she felt so low because now she knew that it was difficult to apply makeup, so far she was used to natural makeup.
"Don't be like that, honey. You haven't started yet and you want to give up? The key is, you have to practice often. I'm sure you can do it." Kristoff said, getting closer to his wife and trying to make her not give up.
"Practice?"
"Yes. Practice."
Anna nodded in understanding and thought how she could practice makeup. When she looked at her husband's face, and took a closer look, she felt like she had a blank sheet of paper to paint on. However it made Kristoff a little confused because Anna gave him a strange look.
"What?" Kristoff backed away a little because now Anna's face was really close to his.
"You have lovely eyes, Kristoff. Your face complexion is really nice. And your eyebrows are really symmetrical." Anna said dreamily and smiled to herself, making Kristoff even more nervous about what his wife was thinking.
"Okay? And?"
"I think you will be beautiful if I do your makeup."
"What??"
"We really can't live without Mrs. Molly even for a day, Elsa. I don't understand why she is able to take care of Angel until now." Jack muttered, looking down at his now-ruined painting. They were now sitting on the couch in the living room. "And my painting is really beyond repair."
Elsa just smiled, she finally gave up on her paperwork and she was accompanying her daughter to draw on a paper.
"You can make your painting again. You said you are a great artist, so now you can recreate even with your eyes closed, Jack." Elsa said, her hands didn't stop playing with her daughter's braids.
Jack let out a long sigh. "I don't know about that, Elsa. It will take a great deal of effort just to get me back in the mood to paint again."
"Daddy?" Said Angel, distracting Jack and Elsa from their conversation.
"Yes, baby?" Jack shifted his painting slightly so he could look at his daughter.
"Look. My painting is the same as yours. Hurray, I'm just like you, Daddy." Angel showed Jack the drawing, it made Elsa interested so she leaned forward to see her daughter's drawing.
Elsa was the first to reach for her daughter's drawing and it really was almost the same as Jack's painting. Not exactly identical because Angel used crayons, but from the first impression the two were similar.
"This, is... " Elsa studied her daughter's drawing and was amazed by the drawing. But then she couldn't stand it and giggled. "I've got to say that Angel's drawing is better than your painting, Jack." She was already laughing now.
"What?" The curious Jack took the drawing in Elsa's hand while Elsa was now hugging her daughter because she felt proud.
Jack looked at his daughter's drawing next to his painting and he couldn't say anything because what Elsa said was not wrong.
"This isn't happening." Jack muttered in disbelief.
"Mommy's so proud of you, baby." Still hugging, Elsa showered Angel with kisses.
"Mommy?"
"Yes, baby?"
"I want to pee."
"Alright. Come on." Elsa gave Angel one more kiss on the cheek and then helped her up. "After this Mommy will cook dinner, okay? You can draw or play again with Daddy."
"Okay, Mommy."
The two then left for the bathroom leaving Jack who still couldn't believe that his successor had been born.
"Kristoff!! Anna!!"
Jack entered his neighbor's house in the same way he entered his own and headed straight for the kitchen. He was accompanying Angel to draw while Elsa was cooking dinner when Angel out of nowhere, wanted white milk.
"Kristoff!!" Jack shouted again as he searched the kitchen cupboard for white milk
"What is it, Jack?" Kristoff's disheartened voice answered behind Jack.
"Do you guys happen to have- Oh my God!!" Jack turned around and was surprised to see Kristoff's appearance.
"Gurl! Look at you! I didn't know that you could be this beautiful, Krissy! Who did your make up?" Jack said in his feminine voice, his body language not masculine at all as usual. He really enjoyed making fun of Kristoff's girly makeup.
"It's Anna. She wanted to join make up course and I became a victim because she has to practice a lot." Kristoff said, he looked resigned if he had to be teased constantly by Jack. His love to Anna was that much.
"It's okay. That makeup really suits you, Krissy. Really. I'm being honest now." Said Jack sounding honest, even though he was only doing it to annoy Kristoff.
"It's Kristoff, Jackson." Kristoff said annoyed, Jack's way of saying 'Krissy' really put him on the edge. "What are you doing here, anyway? What do you want?"
Still with that annoying smile, Jack nodded. Mainly to distract himself from how ridiculous Kristoff's face was now.
"Milk. Do you guys happen to have white milk? Angel wants that. She doesn't want milk of any colour."
Elsa was curious because the house was very quiet, no more Angel or Jack's voice could be heard. It was a little weird to her and because of that, she left her cooking for a while to see what happened.
In the living room he saw Angel busy drawing on a blank paper, but she didn't see Jack anywhere. She came closer and bent down to see clearly what her daughter was drawing.
"Unicorn, huh?" Elsa said, admiring her daughter's drawing.
"Yes, Mommy. It's a unicorn." Angel answered while still concentrating on drawing.
"Where's Daddy?"
"Uncle Kristoff's house. Oh, and Mommy? I'm using your paper to draw. Is that okay?" This time Angel stopped scratching her crayon and looked up at her mother who was now frowning not understanding what she meant by that.
"My paper?" Elsa asked nervously, seeing some of her paperwork were on the same table where Angel was drawing.
"Yeah. Look." Angel turned over the paper she used to draw and it was indeed one of her paperwork. "But I'm not drawing on this side, Mommy. I draw on the blank side."
Elsa laughed dryly. On the one hand, she found that her daughter's innocence was adorable, but on the other hand, her paperwork was now ruined and that meant an extra work for her.
"Baby, that is Mommy's paperwork. You can't draw there." Elsa said, sitting by her daughter's side.
"But I was out of paper, Mommy."
"Why didn't you ask Daddy?"
"Daddy was not here, Mommy. There he is." Angel pointed at Jack who had just entered the house with a bottle of white milk in his hand.
"Where have you been? Look, Angel uses my paperwork to draw." Elsa said, she didn't know if she should be upset about this or not.
Jack studied the paper his daughter was holding. "I was asking milk from Kristoff, Elsa. I didn't know Angel took your paperwork."
Jack felt a little annoyed, he was tired of taking care of Angel all day long but Elsa still blamed him. Or sounded like blaming him. Not to mention the incident of his painting being ruined. He also had to redo his painting from scratch.
"You're in the house, Elsa. You should be the one watching her. I was at Kristoff's house asking for milk. Why are you blaming me?" Said Jack again, putting the milk on the table. His brows knit together in annoyance.
"Blaming you? I'm not blaming you, Jack. It sounded like you are blaming me for not watching her." Elsa said, she was annoyed that Jack accused her.
"Mommy, don't scold Daddy. Daddy is really nice today." Angel interrupted, pulling her mother's hand so she wouldn't scold her father.
But Jack was already irritated. So he knelt next to Angel and put his arm around her shoulders.
"It's alright, baby. Daddy is used to being blamed by your Mommy. Later when you grow up don't be like Mommy, okay? Better now we play somewhere else." Said Jack in an exaggerated tone. He squinted at Elsa dramatically, making Elsa sigh softly because he was already like a drama king. "Bad Mommy."
"What? You shouldn't have said that in front of our daughter, Jack." Elsa said trying not to get angry. But Jack was already standing and holding Angel to get out of there. "Where are you going?"
"Anywhere but here." Said Jack curtly. "Let's go, baby."
Elsa was too dumbfounded to react. She could only see her daughter who even though Jack was holding her, her face still turned to look at her mother.
Kristoff rubbed his face vigorously with a wet tissue to remove any remaining make-up. He was starting to feel uncomfortable because with the make-up on his face, his face felt stiff and thick, like he had an allergy or something.
"Kristoff, let's continue your makeup." Anna suddenly placed a large box containing her makeup kit on the coffee table. She ignored her husband's long sigh but when she realized that the makeup on his face had gone, her enthusiasm disappeared as well. "Why did you remove the make-up, Kristoff?"
"Honey, please. My face feels sore and itchy and stiff from the make-up. And the worst part is Jack had such a good time mocking me just now. He called me 'Krissy' you know?" Kristoff said, rubbing his nose this time.
"Jack was here?"
"Yeah. He asked for white milk." Kristoff folded up his dirty tissue and placed it on the table when he heard the front door open and then close. "Speaking of the devil."
"Aunty Anna!!" Angel ran from the front door and went straight to Anna, giving her a warm hug.
"Hello, my favourite niece." Said Anna, returning Angel's hug. She rubbed Angel's head after that.
"Elsa is in a bad mood at home. Do you mind if we play here?" Said Jack, plopping himself down next to Kristoff.
Kristoff and Anna looked at each other. Although Angel was very adorable, sometimes she could really test their patience. But they still loved her very much.
"Of course she can play here." Said Kristoff, pinching Angel's cheek.
"What's this, Aunty Anna?" Anna's make-up kit caught Angel's attention.
"Oh, this is my make-up kit, Angel. See, there are lipstick, eyeshadow, mascara and many others." Anna explained, pointing at the make-up kit one by one.
"Just like Mommy's."
"Yes, just like Mommy's. Come on, I'll show you." Anna picked up her large box of make-up and carried it to the dining table, to a wider area. Angel followed her eagerly.
"Kristoff, I'm going home for a bit. I have something to take. I'll come back here later." Jack said and without waiting for Kristoff's answer he stood up and like a wizard he had disappeared from Kristoff's living room.
Elsa was holding a spatula when she heard Jack enter the house. She then turned around and saw Jack walking towards the area between the dining room table and the living room where all his painting tools were.
"Where's Angel?" Although Jack still looked annoyed, Elsa was curious about her daughter's whereabouts because Jack came home alone.
"She is playing with Anna." Jack said, not looking at Elsa. He began to take his painting tools one by one. And then started getting ready to leave again.
"Hold on, where are you going?" Elsa asked, she put the spatula on the pot and walked over.
Jack looked at Elsa with his signature look as if he was hurt. "I'll be painting at Kristoff's house. They are nice to me. They're not like you, nagging all the time."
Elsa let out a long sigh, her husband could be really too much sometimes. "Jack, I wasn't nagging at you. I didn't mean-"
"Enough, Elsa. Don't hold me back. I'm leaving and don't you try to find me." Said Jack, then headed for the front door.
Again, Elsa was too dumbfounded to react. Is he really mad me? She was starting to feel that they had to sort this out before things got any worse when suddenly Jack came back again.
"What's for dinner?" Asked Jack, and Elsa swore she heard a faint rumble from his stomach.
"Pasta."
"Extra cheese for me, please." And Jack left again without a second glance.
Elsa massaged the bridge of her nose and reached for her spatula again. She decided not to think about Jack getting mad because she was sure things would get better after a nice dinner.
"I can finally paint in peace, Kristoff." Said Jack, starting to prepare the paint on his palette. He sat on the couch next to Kristoff. From here he could see the back of his daughter who was sitting at the dining table and playing something while he could also see Anna was busy cooking dinner in the kitchen.
"But you can't paint here all the time, Jack. Your house is just next door, you know." Said Kristoff, flipping through his comic book.
"I know that. We will be going back to our house at dinner. Elsa is making pasta and I'm starving." Jack answered, smiling from ear to ear. He had already imagined a pot full of pasta with extra cheese on top.
"Good. I'm so glad to hear-"
"Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!!"
Suddenly Anna screamed in horror from the dining table. Surprised, Jack and Kristoff looked over there and found Anna covering her face with her palms.
"What is it, Anna?" Jack asked and before Anna could answer, he and Kristoff screamed as well when Angel turned to look at them.
"Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!"
Jack was absolutely sure that she wasn't his daughter, but a little Jocker girl. Angel had so excessively made up her face with lipstick that almost half of her face was covered in lipstick. On top of that, she also put her eyelids up past her eyebrows with black eyeshadow, making her really scary. And she was still holding Anna's lipstick which was now broken into several pieces.
"Okay." Jack felt it was getting out of hand. "Okay. I think it's time for us to go home. Your Mommy will scold me a lot for this. Come on, baby. Let's go home." He put his palette, brush, and paints on the table carelessly and took Angel home right then and there. What he failed to notice was Anna lamenting the ruined lipstick and other make-up kit.
Elsa looked proudly at the dining table which was now ready with dinner. She smiled but then realized that her husband and daughter were still not home.
Thinking that her pasta should be eaten immediately while it was still warm, she decided to look for them at the neighbor's house. She was just about to turn the knob on the front door when suddenly the door opened and revealed her husband along with...is she really my daughter?
"Oh.. My God, Jack! What did you do with Angel's face?!" Elsa knelt down and studied the face that should have belonged to her daughter.
"Uh," Jack didn't know where to start. "Angel was playing with Anna and I don't know what happened. I'm sorry." He said honestly.
"Mommy, don't scold Daddy. It's not Daddy's fault. I was playing with Aunty Anna's make-up. I put on makeup to make me beautiful like you, Mommy." Angel said with her innocent-joker like face. And it was able to make anyone's heart melt.
"Aww, baby. Okay. Come on, let's clean up your face and after that, we'll be having dinner. The pasta is ready." Elsa grabbed Angel's hand and led her to the bathroom.
"Elsa?" Jack called timidly, causing Elsa to stop in her tracks and turn to face him. "I can still have the dinner, right?"
"Yes. But not with the extra cheese."
Sobbing, Anna still lamented over her broken lipstick, smudged mascara, and ruined eyeshadow.
"Don't be sad, honey. I'll buy you a new make-up kit, okay?" Kristoff said for the umpteenth time. He was trying to comfort his wife who was saddened by the makeup riot.
"I don't know about that, Kristoff. It's like the universe is telling me that I really have no talent for make-up. Maybe I should just cancel the make-up course." Anna said sadly, she had lost her passion about the make-up course.
"Don't be like that, honey. You have to keep the spirit and don't give up." Kristoff advised, he wanted Anna not to give up so easily. She hadn't even started that course yet, how would she give up? "The universe is actually telling you to try harder." He added.
Anna seemed to really think about what Kristoff said because the sobs had now stopped. And slowly, a smile began to appear on her face.
"You're right, Kristoff. I should not give up." Anna said, her demeanor had changed a hundred and eighty degrees and looked even more excited now.
"That's what I'm talking about. My wife is back!"
"Yeah. And like you said, I have to practice a lot?"
"Yes. You have to do that."
"Let's do your eye brows now!"
"What?!"
"Are you sure she's really asleep?" Elsa asked as Jack prepared to get into the covers. She was still sitting and leaning on the headboard reading her paperwork, while Jack had just put Angel to sleep.
"Yes, Elsa. She's already asleep. I just hope she doesn't have another nightmare." Jack inched closer to Elsa and snuggled into her stomach. "Finally the day is over. I'm exhausted, Elsa." He added, closing his eyes.
Elsa let out a long sigh and put her paper on the night stand. She stroked her husband's head and looked at him affectionately.
"Jack?"
"Hmmm?"
"I'm sorry for being a bad Mommy today. I was just stressed from work. I'm sorry, okay?" Elsa said sincerely, sounding guilty.
Jack opened one eye and looked up, putting his best smile on his face. "It's alright, baby. I understand." He took Elsa's hand and kissed it. "I love you so much, Elsa."
"I love you too, Jack."
The two fell into a calming silence and Jack was about to fall asleep when suddenly Elsa spoke.
"Do you remember what you said to me on our wedding day, Jack?"
Jack stirred and looked up at Elsa. "About?"
"Something about a bullet."
"A bullet?"
"Yeah."
Jack frowned trying to remember. "Oh, I remember. I said, I would take a bullet for you. I could never love anything as much as I love you."
"And what did you say when you held Angel for the first time when she was just born?"
"I said, if we were ever under attack, I would use your body as a human shield to protect our baby." Said Jack with a goofy smile on his face.
Elsa giggled at that. "And do you still think the same way now?"
Jack pursed his lips and shook his head slowly. "I was just joking, Elsa. I love you both very much. I will protect you both from anything. But on second thought, a bullet would think twice about hitting Angel. Our daughter is something, Elsa. I know she will do something great one day."
"Like being a great artist?" Elsa asked mockingly and laughed afterward.
"You naughty!" Jack pretended to be offended and pinched Elsa's stomach, causing her to squeal in amusement. "Bad Mommy!"
Jack then pulled Elsa's body down onto the bed and showered her with kisses. Something that had started with a joke continued to become more passionate.
"Forget about my painting. I'll paint your whole body with my kisses instead." Jack muttered against Elsa's neck. While Elsa was too busy enjoying the moment to say anything.
Things started to heat up when suddenly their bedroom door slammed open and,
"MOMMY! DADDY! THE BROCCOLI MONSTER IS BACK!!"
