Enjoy!
It was time.
All I had to do, was do as I'd been instructed.
It wasn't that difficult.
I guess.
Focus, Lucinda.
Anyway.
Hello, I'm Lucinda Constantine, and I am about to become the resident new girl at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
And I'm not at all excited about it.
It wasn't that I don't like the school, I'm sure Hogwarts is a lovely school, but I hate people. Yes, I did just say that I hate people. They're loud, irritating and, most of the time, stuck up. And they're human, something I'm not.
How, am I not human I hear you ask? Well, to put it plainly, I'm a vampire.
That's right, I have fangs and can't go anywhere near garlic. That, was sarcasm, because despite what people, mainly muggles and uneducated swines, believe, we vampires can in fact eat garlic and we don't always have really sharp canines.
Although we can do most of the things that legend says we can't, I still don't eat garlic, it tastes disgusting. I also only ever show my canines in order to scare of potential predators or when I feed.
Don't worry, I only ever drink animal blood.
I know that that's not much better than if I were to drink the blood of a human, but I wasn't bitten, both of my parents are vampires so I was born one too. Meaning, I don't have a choice, I have to drink some type of healthy blood in order to survive. Whilst most of my family tend to drink any type of blood, no matter what creature or human it comes from, I prefer to feed on animals, as that way I feel less guilt than I would if it were a person.
I know I said I hate people, but I hate being a vampire more.
Even though I hate how I am, that doesn't mean I don't do as a normal vampire would.
I hate getting up in the morning, as sometimes the sun is too unbearable, we learn to tolerate light at a young age, and my senses often get a little overwhelmed when I smell blood.
These things should, theoretically, make it difficult to hide in the shadows as easily as we do. But, every born vampire, from when they can walk and talk, learns how to act 'normal', like a witch or wizard. We're taught how to cast basic spells and make simple potions, we brush up on our human etiquette and learn how to eat food. All this makes living in and amongst humans a lot easier. We live so secretly, it's virtually impossible to tell, just by looking at somebody, whether they're a vampire or not.
Seriously, your best mate could be a vampire and you'd never even know.
In addition to the human skills we develop, we're naturally born with heightened senses. So we have an acute sense of smell, rapid speed, we're stronger than we look and can solve problems faster and easier than humans, due to the extra chemicals in our brains and bodies. These chemicals cause our 'abnormalities'.
All of a sudden, I was extracted from the inner workings of my mind, by a finger clicking in my face.
"Lucinda! You need to get on the train, it leaves in two minutes." The shrill voice of my sister-in-law, Aria, sounded through my eardrums, inevitably sending me two feet in the air and crashing into my brother.
"Merlin Luci, watch where you're going." Blade, my brother, said as he straightened me upright again.
Blade and Aria have been married for five years, they got engaged at eighteen and tied the knot a year later. They have a four year old little boy by the name of Cassius, after Aria's late grandfather, who had the pleasure of being my nephew. Aria had been welcomed, with open arms, into my family the day she came home with Blade and asked if she could stay. Her family had kicked her out after finding out what Blade was and that their relationship was a serious one. Aria wasn't a vampire like us, instead she was a seer, and she has a manner of all different skills, ranging from reading tea leaves to predicting entire prophecies. Cassius, like his Dad, had been born a vampire, but he also showed seer attributes too. Like, sometimes he can see if he's going to fall off his toy broom, so he'll avoid going on it altogether, or he can predict what time I'll get up in the morning. He even predicted the gender of the baby that Aria is currently heavily pregnant with, lets just say he's not happy about having a little sister, he really wanted a baby brother to play with.
"Sorry, but Aria scared the shit out of me." I said, frustrated, as I brushed myself off.
"Auntie Luci! You just swore!" Cassius exclaimed in mock shock, he was used to the amount of swearing that occurred in our family and was developing a knack for sarcasm too.
I've trained him well.
"Language." My wonderful Father chipped in, his deep voice practically sending a rumble through the platform.
Ah yes.
We are currently stood in a little group, on the old and battered Platform 9 3/4, in Kings Cross Station, London.
And I'm about to miss The Hogwarts Express, the train that takes me to Hogwarts, if I don't hurry up. Although, I can't say that that would be a bad thing, I don't really want to go anyway.
"Lucinda, get your arse on that train, now." My Mother spoke, her voice laced with urgency and irritation.
"Alright, alright, I'm going, keep your fangs on." I said, hands up in surrender as I grabbed my trunk and gave them a quick hug each, setting off towards the scarlet steam engine.
"Don't get into any trouble!" My Mum called after me, I, ever so maturely, flipped her the bird.
When I said I didn't like people and humans, that didn't mean I wasn't rude like them.
Actually, I think I'm more like humans than I'd like to admit.
I'm rude, cynical and sarcastic, not to mention I can be a right bitch when I want to be.
I hopped onto the train just as the conductor blew his whistle and not ten seconds later was it pulling out of the station and towards the Scottish Highlands.
I wandered down the corridor looking for an empty compartment, but it seems as though they were all in use or at maximum capacity. I cursed myself for not getting on the train earlier, as that way I could've had a compartment all to myself. So, by the time I got to the end of the train, there was only one compartment left. In it, there were four boys, a small, pudgy one, a long, dark haired one, one with black wired glasses and one who had sandy brown hair and was, quite clearly, engrossed in the book he was reading.
I opened the compartment door with a sigh, subjecting myself to socialising, and all four heads turned to look at me, their conversation dying out.
"Hey, do you guys mind if I sit her? Everywhere else is full." I asked, as confidently as I could.
The one with glasses answered first.
"Sure, come on in." He said animatedly.
"Thanks." I replied, entering and putting my trunk in the holder above and sitting down in the offered seat in between the boy with long hair and the small one. Awkwardness set over the room instantly, sending everyone into a long silence.
"What's your name?" The one with glasses asked, subconsciously ruffling his hair, fluffing it up even more.
"Lucinda Constantine." I said, as I did so, the boy who was reading snapped his head in my direction and we locked eyes.
There was a weird sort of electricity between us, it was like a crackling feeling, as though I was on fire almost, just without the pain. There was a split second where I thought that his smooth milk chocolate brown irises had turned a golden honeycomb yellow and that his pupils had retracted into slits. The warmth spread all over my body, from the top of my head to the very ends of my toes, it gave me a strange sense of security, like I was safe as long as the feeling lasted. Sure enough, it had disappeared as quickly as it had come, only leaving behind a lingering heat, reminding me of the previous fiery blaze.
"So," I spoke, attempting to break the palpable tension."You know my name, can I know your's?"
"James Potter." The one with glasses said as he held his hand out.
I shook it, then turning to the pudgy one sat beside me, I repeated my question.
"Peter Pettigrew." Was the quiet reply I got.
"I'm Sirius Black." The long haired one sat on my other side happily piped up.
"And you are?" I said to the sandy haired one.
He looked up, surprised, and narrowed his eyes at me before mumbling coldly.
"Remus Lupin."
Remus Lupin. Fuck. Oh for the love of Dracula, save me.
Remus Lupin, AKA Wolf Moon.
This boy is a werewolf, and I'm a vampire, this is not going to end well at all. At least now I know why he clearly doesn't like me. How he knew what am in first place I have know idea, but the way he just looked at me, he definitely knows.
"Are you new at Hogwarts? We've never seen you around before." James asked, curiously.
"Yeah, I'm going into sixth year." I answered, slightly nervous to be admitting that I'm the new girl.
"Cool, we sixth year Gryffindors." Sirius spoke enthusiastically.
"What house are you hoping to be in?" Peter asked politely.
"Gryffindor? House? I'm confused." I inquired, though judging by the looks on their faces, it was a rather stupid question.
"Do you know anything about Hogwarts?" Sirius asked, smirking.
"Asides from the obvious fact that it's a magic school, no, no I don't." I replied earnestly.
That was all it took to set them off. They started telling me all about my new school. They explained the four houses, clearly implying that, in their opinion, Gryffindor is the best. They told me all about the classes I was going to take, the brilliant quidditch games, how to get to the kitchens if I ever wanted a midnight snack and pretty much everything else Hogwarts has to offer.
Then I learned all about them. I learned that James's parents were Aurors, that Sirius lives with James as he ran away from home and his family, that Peter loves food and I even learned that Remus is a Halfblood.
Throughout the train ride I noticed things about them all. I noticed how James is clearly the leader of the group, with Sirius in a close second, I noticed that Peter often became the butt of the aforementioned boy's jokes, though they clearly loved him. Remus was the only one that wasn't quite as eager to share information about his life, which I could totally understand, I too didn't input a lot during the conversations, though that was partly due to the fact that James and Sirius were talking at several words per second.
About two hours later, the compartment door opened, just as we were laughing at something ridiculous that Sirius had said, to reveal a redheaded girl wearing a prefects badge.
"Potter, why are you lot not changed into your robes?" She asked, hands on her hips, a stern look directed at each of them."Remus, you're a prefect, you should make sure they get ready."
Remus is a prefect, huh, I didn't expect that.
The boy in question looked up at the girl and gave her sheepish smile.
The girl scanned the compartment, her eyes widening slightly as she spotted me, her eyebrows rose in surprise.
"You must be the new student, I'm Lily Evans." She smiled at me and held her hand out towards me.
"Hello, I'm Lucinda, but call me Cindi." I said as I took her hand and returned her kind, friendly smile.
Cindi, was the nickname that the boys had given me about an hour ago, as apparently Lucinda is long and boring. Charming aren't they.
"Welcome to Hogwarts, Cindi." Lily said as she turned her gaze from me to James. "Potter, I suggest you and your friends get changed soon, unless you want me to deduct house points before we've even got to school."
She gave one last scornful look at the boys, flashed me a sympathetic smile, turned on her heel and sashayed away. James was silently gawping at her as she did so.
"What's up with him?" I whispered to Sirius.
"That's Lily Evans, the girl James has been trying to pull for years and who he's hopelessly in love with. Only one problem though, she despises him." Was the whispered reply.
"Oh, that's rough." I said, feeling bad for James.
"Uh huh." Sirius said, nodding his head whilst looking over at his lovesick mate.
"Guys, Lily is right, we ought to get changed." Remus piped up for the first time in an hour and a half.
"Well, hello again Remus, it's nice to see you." Sirius said sarcastically.
Remus gave Sirius an unimpressed look, the interaction made me laugh, which, in turn, made Remus glare at me, but with much more hatred.
Originally, I was willing to look past the prejudice of vampires hating werewolves and vice versa, but the cold, distant attitude he'd given me this entire time, without actually knowing me, is beginning to make me feel differently.
He was right, of course, we did have to get changed into our robes, so I went to the bathroom, whilst the boys changed in the compartment.
Once I'd changed, I came out of the cubicle and looked myself over in the mirror. I wasn't bad looking, in my opinion, but I wasn't a goddess like that Lily Evans girl or Aria. They have curves, I am a bean pole, they have long, thick locks, I have shoulder length, jet black, curly hair, they are around about 5'4 and I stand tall, literally, at 5'11. Don't get me wrong, I completely and utterly love how I am and I wouldn't change a thing, but you can't help but wonder, what would it be like to be curvy and to have boys fall at your feet.
There is one thing I love about myself above all else, my eyes, they're a deep navy, almost black, which really make me look like the dark creature I am when the light catches them, tinting them red. Basically, I love that they freak people out.
I made my way back to the compartment, praying to Dracula that the boys had changed, I did not need to be scarred for life.
I was a few compartments away from ours when someone bumped into me on their way past and I most definitely did not imagine what they had said or the way they had said it.
"Complete your task."
It wasn't an order, it was a threat.
I just stood there, dumbfounded, I didn't even know there were any of his disciples at Hogwarts, beside me, but I don't particularly want to count myself as one of his minions. I decided to ignore the incident and pushed it to the back of my mind as I carried on down the train.
Thankfully, by the time I got there they had all put on their uniforms and sat chatting, it did hurt more than I'd like to admit when I saw Remus having an animated conversation with James about something.
He doesn't talk practically the entire train ride but the minute I'm gone he clearly doesn't shut up.
They were all dressed identically, the Gryffindor house crest stitched on their robes and their red and gold ties hung loose around their necks.
As I was new, my uniform was a bit different to theirs, I had no specific house crest, just the Hogwarts one, my tie was black, again with the Hogwarts crest on it and I wore black skirt that stopped just a few centimetres above my knee.
"Cindi, there you are! What took you so long?" Sirius exclaimed.
"Well, excuse me if some of us have to put tights on." I huffed, gesturing to the offending items that clung to my legs, before sitting down in my previous spot.
"Girls, they're so dramatic." James said, shaking his head.
"I know, tights must be a bitch." Sirius sighed, placing the back of his right hand on his forehead in mock exasperation.
"I'll be a bitch in a minute, if you two don't shut up." I threatened, pointing a finger at them both.
Just as they were about to retort something, which was most likely to be stupid, the train came to a halt just as Remus spoke.
"We're here."
The ride up to the school was interesting, to say the least. We were transported by old fashioned, Victorian style carriages that were pulled by skeletal horses, which I knew to be Thestrals. I didn't bring attention to the fact that I could see them, as I wanted to avoid any further questions on the subject of why I could see them. As I was sure at least one of them would know how and why a person can see the majestic creatures. My guess was Remus.
Seeing the the animals in front of me brought back memories I'd rather like to forget, the clearness in which the image appeared in my mind made me wince involuntarily.
The boys had started planning how they were going to put their annual 'Welcome Back Prank' into motion. During the journey here, I had gathered that the 'Marauders' as they call themselves, were notoriously known for being pranksters. I had heard many a story of their escapades, noting to never piss one of them off, unless I wanted my hair to be dyed a frightening colour of pink.
When we made it to the castle, there was a tall, slim, stern looking woman, she wore deep emerald green dress robes and a black, slightly crooked, hat sat atop her head, just above a thick, tight bun to which her brown, greying hair was pulled back into. There was something about her that instantly made me respect her, she looked formidable, like a badass bitch.
She headed towards me, making me wonder if I'd gotten the uniform wrong or something.
"Miss Constantine." She smiled at me and gestured for me to follow her. "If you would be so kind as to come with me."
"Why hello Minnie, how are you this fine evening?" Sirius asked, sending a wink towards the willowy woman and slinging his arm around my shoulders.
So this was the infamous Professor McGonagall, or as the boys referred to her as, 'Minnie'.
"I'm very well thank you Mr Black, but don't you ought to be in the Great Hall, you can have Miss Constantine back once she's been sorted into her house." She said sternly, giving him a look.
"We'll see you in a bit Cindi." James said as he and Sirius ran to catch up with Remus and Peter who had walked on ahead.
I followed McGonagall down several long corridors, until we had reached our destination, she did not engage me in conversation, for that I was rather grateful for, she was an intimidating woman. We came to a stop in front of a large golden Griffin, the professor raised her hands and said 'Sugar Plums', the Griffin then repeatedly rotated in a circle and slowly rose higher, a staircase appearing as it did.
I stood there, mouth agape, the boys had said about how mysterious and surprising Hogwarts could be, but I didn't quite believe them until now.
"Well don't just stand there gawping, the Headmaster wishes to see you." She spoke, her mouth twitching slightly at the corners.
Only now, had I noticed her accent, it was most definitely Scottish, but it was more refined and posh than most of the incomprehensible gibberish that Scots tended to say.
I remembered where I was and who I was with and got my act together, closing my mouth and stepping onto the stair behind her as we ascended the spiral of steps. When we reached the top, there was a thick, dark oak door waiting for us, McGonagall knocked on the withered wood. As soon as she had stepped back, the door swung open to reveal an enormous room filled to the brim with odd and enticing artifacts, that looked as though they we were the result of many years of collecting.
"Please, come on in." Said a soft, smooth, gravelly voice.
I followed the professor into the room, where she went to stand next to the man who was currently sat in the big gold, throne like chair, which was placed behind an old mahogany desk.
"You must be Miss Constantine," He smiled at me, motioning for me to sit down in the chair opposite himself. "Welcome to Hogwarts, I'm Professor Dumbledore, the Headmaster."
Despite his old age and wise nature, there was a little glimmer of mischief that sparkled brightly in his blue diamond eyes, which were protected by a pair of half moon spectacles. He had long white hair with bits of silver weaved in that shone in the low light of the room, this was paired with a matching beard which was tied at the end of its long strands with a thin piece of grey string. His robes were a vivid Sapphire, with moons and stars imprinted on the silky fabric. On his head, he wore a hat of the same material, which sat lopsided, giving him a look of innocence almost.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Sir." I said, nervously ringing my hands.
"There is nothing to fear dear child." McGonagall contributed.
"I know, its just I'm starting a new school, that's all." I said quietly.
This wasn't at all like me, I wasn't a naturally quiet human, well I'm not technically human, but you catch my drift. I'm reserved sometimes, yes, but that's only when I have to be. I'm not quiet, I like to have conversations with people and laugh about stupid shit with my friends. And I'm almost never nervous.
"I believe, that you have already made some friends, the Marauders, is that right?" He asked politely, I nodded.
"Yeah, they're a bunch of nutcases, but they're alright." I replied, smiling.
"Good, you'll do well to have friends who'll stick by you no matter what." He spoke, looking pointedly at me over the rim of his glasses.
I didn't quite know what to make of that look, so I decided to ignore it all together, and instead focused on why I was here in the first place.
"Sorry, Professor Dumbledore, why am I here again? To be sorted into my house, right?" I asked.
"Yes, indeed, Minerva if you'd please." He gestured for the woman to pick up a shabby looking hat, that sat on one of the cluttered shelves that lined the walls.
She placed the hat carefully on my head and within about five seconds, there was a voice in my head, talking directly to me. It was so unexpected that I jumped in my seat and firmly gripped the arms of my chair, so much so that my knuckles were going a rather pale colour.
"Smart, yes, brave too." It said.
"Who are you and what are you doing in my head?" I asked, trying to keep my nervousness out of my voice.
It was then, that I caught on to the fact that I hadn't spoken aloud to the Professors, but in my head and I was having a conversation, with what I now realised, was the hat sat upon my head.
"I'm the sorting hat, I'm here to determine what house you belong to." The hat said, exasperated.
"Oh." Was all I said.
"You're a vampire, I haven't sorted one of those for many years." It said, maliciously.
I was starting to really dislike this damned hat.
"What about it?" With what I hoped was an intimidating tone, though I doubted it, I was talking to a hat for Dracula's sake.
"Nothing, but most vampires long to be put in Slytherin, though I do believe you feel differently." It said, in a matter of fact tone, it was almost as if it was smug, like he'd figured out my deepest darkest secret.
It was right though, I did in fact, not want to be placed in Slytherin. The boys had told me all about the houses, but especially about that particular house, telling me to steer clear from the 'Snakes' as they call them. I also had a feeling that if I was to be placed in Slytherin, that my secret would soon be found out quickly, as I had also been informed about the fact that most of them dabble in the Dark Arts. Meaning, they'd know quite a bit more about dark creatures, such as myself, than the other students would.
"Yes, I do not wish to be placed in Slytherin." I said, as firmly as I could.
"Pity, you would've done well there, well, then it better be-" The rest of his sentence was said aloud, for the adults to hear.
"Gryffindor!"
I smiled widely, the boys were going to be so happy, they were hoping I'd be placed in Gryffindor, though I'm pretty sure Remus would rather I was placed in Slytherin.
"Well then, that's settled, welcome to Gryffindor Lucinda." Professor McGonagall said, smiling at me as she gave a knowing nod to Dumbledore and left the office, taking the hateful hat with her.
"I do believe this calls for a change of attire." Dumbledore said, as he pick up his wand that had previously been lead on the desk and flicked it effortlessly at me.
For a minute, I'd wondered what had happened, until I looked at my tie, which was no longer black, but instead was striped red and gold. There was also now an embroidered crest on my robes and the inside fabric of them was a matching red to my tie. I beamed at Dumbledore in thanks.
"Now before you go and find your friends, I would like to assure you that your needs, regards to your lifestyle, shall be met with the upmost discretion." He reassured me kindly.
"Thank you, Sir." I smiled back.
"You will have access to the Forbidden Forest, should you need it, and the house elves in the kitchen are perfectly aware of your... eating habits, so you only have to ask." He said earnestly.
I thanked him again, he nodded and I was dismissed.
As I walked out his office and back down the stairs, I could already imagine how happy the boys would be.
A little while later, I had finally found the Great Hall, I opened the huge doors a smidge and slipped through into the beautiful scenery that was the heart of Hogwarts. I looked around for Sirius's long hair, James's glasses or even Peter's small form, but I couldn't spot them. I looked around nervously, as people had begun to notice my presence, the whispers flew quickly and just as I thought I was going to die of embarrassment, James and Sirius saw me, got up and bounded their way over, turning everyone's heads to look at us in the process. They both took one look at my uniform and cheered, jumping up and down and hugging me.
All of a sudden, they both hopped up onto, what I assumed to be the Gryffindor table, and cleared their throats, almost instantly, everybody's attention was on them. Even the teachers seemed eager to know what they had to say, except for Professor McGonagall, she just looked fed up that they were already causing trouble and the school year had only just began.
"Everybody, we would like to introduce you to our new friend, Lucinda Constantine!" They said in unison, clapping and pointing at me.
I was so going to kill them for this.
I'm pretty sure that my face was matching the red stripes on my tie by this point.
James and Sirius looked like they were relishing in the attention, lapping it up like they were the Kings and everybody else were their humble servants. The clapping and cheering died down as they got off the table with one murderous look from Lily Evans and a scornful one from Professor McGonagall.
"What the fuck was that for." I said, as I whacked them both on the back of their heads, the students who were still watching us, which was most of them, laughed.
"We thought, that we would introduce you." James said as ducked my attempt at hitting him again.
"Well, don't ever do something like that again, understood?" I asked, glaring at them.
They nodded, still smirking, and seemed to realise we were still stood in the middle of the hall and guided me over to where they were sitting. I sat in between them both and opposite Remus, I nodded to him and gave him a smile, to which he just looked down at the table, but not before narrowing his eyes at me once again, I think it was becoming a habit.
Soon, Dumbledore appeared and the doors opened to reveal a group of petrified looking first years. I was so glad that I hadn't been forced to be sorted with them.
The time passed quickly, one minute the horrible hat was shouting house names and the next we were all munching happily on the delicious feast. I made a quick mental note to ask the house elves to put some sheep's blood in my pumpkin juice.
Dinner came and went, and soon we were all being dismissed, house by house, back to our dormitories. The boys showed me the way to Gryffindor Tower and we settled in the extremely comfortable armchairs by the fire in the cosy Gryffindor Common Room.
"So, Cindi, how you liking Hogwarts so far?" Sirius asked from his position, sat on the sofa with his legs propped up on the coffee table.
We were all slumped, recovering from the feast, James was sat on the sofa, mirroring Sirius, Peter was laying flat on his back on the floor next to the fire and Remus and I sat in the two armchairs on opposite sides of the coffee table.
"I love it." I couldn't help but smile, I really did love it.
"Good." Was all he said.
We sat quietly for a while, thinking about all that had happened. I had made some friends, though the thought made me ecstatic, all I could think of was what would happen if they found out what I was? What if someone told them? I know for a fact that there are people here who knew, Remus for one and the person from the train, they definitely knew. I'm pretty sure that they were watching me during the sorting ceremony too, as I had felt a pair of eyes on me. I doubt that they, and everybody else who worked for their boss, would like that I had been put in Gryffindor and had befriended a bunch of 'Blood Traitors'.
So, for now, I decided I'd think about it tomorrow.
As the night grew later, James, Sirius and Peter had called it a night and gone up to their dorm to go to sleep, leaving Remus and I alone.
Now I don't know much about generations long feuds, but I'm pretty sure your not supposed to leave the two people who were feuding alone in a room together.
I, being the idiot that I am, decided to break the suffocating silence.
"Hey, um, can you not tell anyone what you know? Please." I asked, my fingers absentmindedly playing with the hem of my skirt.
"What, that your a blood sucker?" He asked and I nodded hesitantly, the malice in his tone catching me off guard. "I won't, so long as you keep my secret, I'll keep yours."
I let out a breath I hadn't realised I was holding in, I looked at him, and he looked at me, but with nothing but hatred in his eyes.
Remus was quite attractive, his sandy hair covered his big coco brown eyes, he was tall at 6'3, he wasn't well built but rather thin, though he was muscular enough to not look sickly. He was covered in scars that obviously had been to deep to properly disappear, I suspected that these were the results of his transformations. They were strangely alluring, they added a sense of danger to his usual calm and collected manner.
"Friends?" I asked, my hand outstretched.
"Why on earth, would I want to be friends with you." He said as he stood up and made his way to the stairs.
Something in me snapped and all ideas of making peace with him vanished.
"You know what, I was willing to look past our differences, but it turns out that your kind really are as awful as everybody says you are. I can't believe I thought that I could be friends with a Werewolf." I spat out the last word, like it was poison on my tongue, pushed past him and made my way up the stairs, towards the girls dormitories.
When I found the sixth year girls room, I cautiously opened the door, as not to wake any of them up. I went straight to the only empty four poster by the window and fell back onto the huge, cloud like mattress, sighing as I relaxed back. I didn't bother to change into my pajamas or draw the curtains around my bed.
My buzzing thoughts were keeping my mind awake.
I thought about Remus and what had just happened, about the mysterious person from the train and what everyone at home would think about my sorting. All my feelings mixed together as my eyelids grew heavy, I was still thinking about everything as sleep threatened to envelope me into the land of dreams. I only had one thought as I succumbed to slumber.
So much for thinking about it tomorrow.
AN:
Ah! I started another story! I know I shouldn't have, but I just loved this idea and had to start writing it immediately. I'm currently writing chapter three of one of my other stories, The Book of Shadows, so feel free to go check it out. As always, constructive criticism it welcomed, I hope you are all staying safe. Until next time, happy reading!
Sincerely,
