She couldn't believe it. Vulcan recalled her when their allies needed her the most. Seven million lives. Earth just lost seven million people to an attack by an unknown, unprovoked species, and they aren't going to help them. T'Pol was even considering resigning her commission with the High Command to join them, but she was ceased by a single call from the person that has been there for her since they met.
Courtney called T'Pol when the Enterprise was on its way to Vulcan. Courtney looked exhausted but she was the head of StarFleet Intelligence and Earth had just been attacked so she wasn't likely going getting any sleep anyways.
" Hello Admiral, may I ask why you are calling?" Even though she is devastated by the lost T'Pol could tell it was the same Courtney Hazelwood that she has always known.
"Oh come on T'Pol just call me Courtney."Then she muttered underneath her breath." Stubborn Vulcan." T'Pol knows not to take the insult personally she has been called worse.
" Courtney what is the subject of this conversation?" The Admiral rolled her eyes at the Vulcan she has called her friend for three decades.
" What's that subject of the conversation?" Courtney mocked back. " What do you think the subject is? Seven million people. Seven fucking million people are dead that's what you think right? Well allow me tell you something. I don't believe that any of them are dead."In her time of knowing her T'Pol has been told by many people including Courtney's husband and T'Pol's mentor Ambassador Soval that she was a little insane but this was more than just a little. But T'Pol knew she could not tell her that.
" Courtney, it is illogical to think they are not dead."
" No I'm telling you it is logical." Before the both of them had a chance to say anything else Soval came into the view of the camera.
"It is logical to presume they are alive given the evidence. As a scientist T'Pol you are aware you can not make or remove matter, it is consistently there. According to the report that was given to the High Command and the one given to StarFleet Intelligence there was no residue of a single human body." T'Pol started to put the pieces together and found that they may be on to something.
"So T'Pol we are going to use you getting recalled as cover up for our actual plan. The I.I.A. said I can go on with the investigation with as much of the advanced technology that I require but they will not lend me any agents that are not a part of StarFleet. So here is the plan that Soval and me came up with." T'Pol listened intently and agreed to go along with the plan.
